AI Technical Summary
Existing corn nozzles with large working widths face challenges in achieving a transport width that complies with road transport dimensions, making it difficult to transfer them in a coupled state to forage harvesters.
The design incorporates turning drums with a frustoconical enveloping behind the harvesting and feeding units, allowing these units to pivot relative to each other, ensuring that the turning drums and associated scraping members fit within the permitted transport width during the transfer from the working to the transport position.
This design enables corn nozzles with working widths up to 12 m to be compacted into a transport position that adheres to road transport dimensions, facilitating safe and efficient road transport of the forage harvester.
Abstract
Description
Description Title of the invention: Corn spout for a forage harvester and forage harvester with such a corn beak
[0001] — The invention relates to a corn spout for a forage harvester. Furthermore, the invention relates to a forage harvester with such a corn spout.
[0002] = Among the harvesting machines, a distinction is made in principle between harvesting machines in which the product is threshed and the harvesting machines in which the product is chopped. Therefore, when the product to be harvested is a type of cereal such as wheat, barley or oats or rapeseed, harvesting machines are generally used which are shaped into combine harvesters. On the other hand, when the product is corn, miscanthus or sorghum, the harvesting machines generally used are forage harvesters.
[0003] — A harvesting machine shaped as a combine harvester, in which a product to be harvested is threshed, includes a front tool with several organs of harvesters who harvest the product by carrying out a sectioning in the manner of scissors. Conversely, a harvesting machine shaped like a forage harvester has a tool frontal shaped like a corn beak with several harvesting organs driven in rotation. The present invention relates to a corn spout of a harvesting machine shaped like a forage harvester, in which the product to be harvested is chopped and, consequently, unbeaten.
[0004] — Document DE 10 2004 022 534 A1 discloses a harvesting machine shaped as forage harvester for harvesting stalked products such as corn or similar. The machine harvesting unit has a corn spout, the corn spout having several units of harvesting and feeding with harvesting and feeding organs driven in rotation, drum-shaped and turning substantially around an axis of rotation vertical to cut the product in a substantially horizontal direction.
[0005] — In document DE 10 2004 022 534 A1, the harvesting and feeding units corn spouts are pivotable relative to each other in order to transfer the spout corn between a working position and a transport position. Thus, in the position working, all harvesting and feeding units seen transversely to the direction of travel, respectively to the harvesting direction are arranged next to the from each other. In the transport position, the harvesting and feed units are arranged one above the other on several levels.
[0006] There is a need for corn spouts with increasingly larger working widths. There is therefore a need for corn spouts which have a working width of up to 10.5 m or even up to 12 m. Such corn spouts must also be transferable in a transport position that allows road transport of the corn spout in a state coupled to the forage harvester. Thus the transport width of a corn spout for road transport must not be greater than approximately 3.3 m. With spouts but whose working width increases, it is difficult to achieve a transport width of this order. There is a need for a corn spout which, even if it has a large working width of up to, for example, 12 m, can be transferred to a transport position that allows road transport while respecting the permitted transport width. Based on this observation, the present invention aims to provide a corn spout of a new type for a forage harvester as well as a forage harvester with such a corn spout. This goal is achieved by means of a corn spout for a forage harvester. Seen in the harvesting direction, behind the harvesting and feeding units, there are arranged feed drums rotating about a vertical or approximately vertical axis as well as turning drums, in the working position of the corn spout being arranged, behind the two central harvesting and feeding units seen in the harvesting direction, respectively a feed drum, and in the working position of the corn spout being arranged, behind a handing area between each of the central harvesting and feeding units and a first lateral harvesting and feeding unit arranged laterally directly next to them, respectively a first turning drum. In order to transfer the corn spout between the working position and the transport position, the harvesting and feeding units are pivotable relative to each other about horizontal or approximately horizontal axes, so that each of the first lateral harvesting and feeding units is pivotable together with one of the first turning drums relative to the respective adjacent central harvesting and feeding unit, so that, in the transport position, a frustoconical envelope of the respective first turning drum lies entirely within the permissible transport width of the corn spout in the transport position of the corn spout. In a corn harvester according to the invention, turning drums are arranged behind the harvesting and feeding units seen in the harvesting direction, which, when transferring the corn harvester between the working position and the transport position, are moved together with the harvesting and feeding units which, when transferring the corn harvester, are movable between the working position and the transport position. These turning drums have a truncated cone-shaped contour which, in the transport position, lies entirely within a permissible transport width of the corn spout. Such turning drums with a truncated cone-shaped contour make it possible to obtain, even in the presence of corn spouts which have a large working width for example up to 12 m, a transport width which allows road transport with permitted transport dimensions. Preferably, the permissible transport width of the corn spout is limited by means of two straight lines or planes extending in the vertical direction, a first of the first turning drums being adjacent, in the transport position of the corn spout, to a first of the two straight lines or planes extending in the vertical direction, and a second of the first turning drums being adjacent, in the transport position of the corn spout, to a second of the two straight lines or planes extending in the vertical direction, such that the frustoconical envelope of the respective first turning drum does not intersect the straight line or plane extending in the vertical direction. This is particularly preferential for compliance with the permissible transport width. Preferably, a cone angle of the frustoconical wrapper of the respective first turning drum is adapted to a turning angle of the respective first harvesting and lateral feeding unit, such that a laterally outer side or a laterally outer edge of the respective frustoconical wrapper extends, in the transport position of the corn spout, parallel or approximately parallel to the respective straight line or plane extending in the vertical direction. This is also particularly preferential for compliance with the permissible transport width of the corn spout to enable road transport. Preferably, each of the two first turning drums is a scraper member which has a plurality of scraper tongues and which is pivotable together with the respective first turning drum relative to the respective adjacent central harvesting and feeding unit, so that, in the transport position, the scraper tongues are located entirely within the permissible transport width of the corn spout. For this purpose, it is preferably provided that, in the transport position of the corn spout, a path on which edges of the respective scraper member are located opposite scraper edges of the scraper tongues does not intersect the respective straight line or plane extending in the vertical direction. In particular, the respective path extends, in the transport position of the corn spout, parallel or approximately parallel to the respective straight lines or planes extending in the vertical direction. This is also particularly preferential for compliance with the permitted transport width of the corn beak to allow road transport. Preferably, in the working position of the corn spout, seen in the harvesting direction behind a delivery zone between each of the first lateral harvesting and feeding units and a second lateral harvesting and feeding unit arranged laterally next thereto, there is arranged a second re- turning which is pivotable to transfer the corn spout into the transport position together with the respective second harvesting and lateral feeding unit. The two second turning drums are arranged, in the transport position of the corn spout, on different sides of a central straight line or a central plane extending in the vertical direction, which extend centrally between the two straight lines or planes defining the permissible transport width of the corn spout. In the transport position of the corn spout, a first of the two turning drums is adjacent on a first side and a second of the second turning drums is adjacent on a second side to the central lines or central planes extending in the vertical direction, such that a frustoconical wraparound of the respective second turning drum does not intersect the central lines or central planes. This also serves to enable a corn spout that has a working width of, for example, up to 12 m to be transferred into a compact transport position while maintaining a permissible transport width in order to enable road transport of the corn spout in a state coupled to the forage harvester. Preferred improvements of the invention will appear on reading the subclaims and the description below. Examples of embodiments of the invention will be explained in more detail, without being limited thereto, with the aid of the drawings. These show: [Fig.1] a side view of a forage harvester with a corn spout; [Fig.2] a schematic view of subgroups of a corn spout according to the invention in the transport position thereof, in a view taken opposite a direction of travel, respectively a direction of harvesting of the forage harvester; [Fig.3] a schematic view of subgroups of a corn spout according to the invention in the transport position thereof, in a view taken in the direction of travel, respectively in the direction of harvesting of the forage harvester; [Fig.4] a top perspective view of subgroups of the corn spout according to the invention in its working position; [Fig.5] detail V of [Fig.4]; [Fig.6] a corn spout turning drum according to the invention together with a scraping member associated with the turning drum. [Fig. 1] shows a harvesting machine shaped as a forage harvester 1. The forage harvester 1 includes a front implement 2 which is coupled to a carrier vehicle 3 and is moved by the carrier vehicle 3 for harvesting work in the direction of travel which corresponds to the harvesting direction F. In the case of the front implement 2, it is a "corn beak" for cutting and collecting stalked product such as, for example, corn, miscanthus or sorghum. The product cut using the front tool 2 is moved inside the tool front by means of the front tool 2 and reprocessed by a chopping system 4 of the forage harvester 1. The chopping system 4 includes a rotating chopping drum 5 as well as a drum panel 6 arranged below the chopping drum 5. Downstream of the chopping system 4 of the forage harvester 1 is preferably arranged a conditioning equipment 7 and, downstream of the conditioning equipment 7, a distributor-accelerator 8 is arranged. The conditioning equipment 7 is also referred to as a grain cracker. The distributor-accelerator 8 serves in particular to impart kinetic energy to the product in order to convey it with a sufficient transport speed through an ejector elbow 9. The front attachment 2 of the forage harvester 1, shaped as a corn spout, has several harvesting and feeding units 10, each harvesting and feeding unit 10 having several rotary-driven, drum-shaped harvesting and feeding members 11 rotating about a vertical or approximately vertical axis. This rotation of the feeding units 10 about a respective vertical or approximately vertical axis takes place in the working position of the corn spout 2. A approximately vertical axis extends substantially in the vertical direction and can be inclined relative to the vertical direction, for example by 5° or 10°. The rotary-driven harvesting and feeding members 11 of the corn spout 2 serve to separate the product in a substantially horizontal direction. The harvesting and feeding members 11 of the corn spout 2 are provided with conveying elements. It will be specified at this stage that the rotationally driven harvesting and feeding members 11 of the harvesting and feeding units 10 of the corn spout 2 can be shaped into chain-shaped harvesting and feeding members 11. Downstream, seen in the harvesting direction F, of the central harvesting and feeding units 10a of the corn spout 2, feed drums 12 are positioned, which convey the product towards a feed system 13 of the forage harvester 1. The feed drums 12 are arranged, seen in the harvesting direction F, behind the central harvesting and feeding units 10 and can rotate about a vertical or approximately vertical axis. A approximately vertical axis extends substantially in the vertical direction and can be inclined or placed at an angle to the vertical direction. In the working position of the corn header 2, a first lateral harvesting and feeding unit 10b is arranged laterally next to a respective central harvesting and feeding unit 10a, as can best be seen in [Fig. 4]. In a delivery area between each first lateral harvesting and feeding unit 10b and the central harvesting and feeding unit 10a, a first turning drum 14 is arranged in each case, which is rotatable about a vertical or approximately vertical axis. A approximately vertical axis extends substantially in the vertical direction and can be inclined or placed at an angle to the vertical direction, for example by 5° or 10°. In the working position, a second respective harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10c is externally attached to the first respective harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10b. In a delivery area between the second respective harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10c and the first respective adjacent harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10b, a second respective turning drum 15 is arranged. The second respective turning drum 15 can rotate about a vertical or approximately vertical axis. A approximately vertical axis extends substantially in the vertical direction and can be inclined or placed at an angle to the vertical direction, for example by 5° or 10°. A third harvesting and side feed unit 10d is then attached externally to the respective second harvesting and side feed unit 10c. In the delivery area between the respective second harvesting and side feed unit 10c and the respective third harvesting and side feed unit 10d, no turning drum is provided due to the direction of rotation of the harvesting and feed members, which is shown in [Fig. 4] by arrows R. It can be seen in [Fig.4] that the respective third harvesting and side feed unit 10d rotates in the opposite direction to the adjacent second harvesting and side feed unit 10c. The respective second harvesting and side feed unit 10c rotates in the same direction as the adjacent first harvesting and side feed unit 10b and the adjacent respective central harvesting and feed unit 10a. The harvesting and feeding units 10 of the corn header 2 are movable from the working position of [Fig. 4] to the transport position of [Fig. 2], 3. In [Fig. 2], 3 and S are shown schematically axes 16 around which the harvesting and feeding units 10 are movable relative to each other, namely pivotable, respectively foldable, when moving between the working position and the transport position as well as vice versa when moving between the transport position and the working position. [Fig. 3] and 4 thus show that the respective first harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10b is foldable, preferably pivotable by approximately 160° relative to the respective adjacent and fixed central harvesting and feeding unit 10a about an axis 16 extending in a horizontal or approximately horizontal direction. The respective second harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10c is pivotable, respectively foldable by approximately 180° relative to the respective first harvesting and feeding unit 10b adjacent about a horizontal or approximately horizontal axis 16. Furthermore, the third harvesting and lateral feeding unit respective 10d is also pivotable, respectively preferably by approximately 180° relative to the second, respectively adjacent, harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10c about an axis extending horizontally or approximately. An approximately horizontal axis extends substantially in the horizontal direction and can be inclined or placed at an angle, for example by 5° or 10°, relative to the horizontal direction. According to [Fig.2] and 3, the first turning drums 14 are pivotable, respectively foldable around the respective axes 16 together with the respective first harvesting and lateral feeding units 10b, and the second turning drums 15 are together with the respective second harvesting and lateral feeding units 10c, and this, during the transfer of the corn spout between the working position and the transport position. In [Fig. 2] and 3, straight lines, respectively planes 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction symbolize a dimension of the corn spout 12 transversely to the harvesting direction F, the spacing between these planes, respectively straight lines 17, 18 corresponding to the maximum permissible transport width of the corn spout 2. In the middle between these two straight lines, respectively planes 17, 18 is shown a central straight line, respectively a central plane 19 which extends in the middle between the two central harvesting and feeding units 10a. As already explained, to transfer the corn spout 2 between the working position and the transport position, the harvesting and feeding units 10 are movable relative to each other, respectively pivotable and therefore foldable, around the axes 16. Each of the first lateral harvesting and feeding units LOb is thus pivotable and thus foldable, together with the first turning drum 14 associated therewith, relative to the respective adjacent central harvesting and feeding unit 10a, and this, in such a way that a frustoconical envelope 14a of the respective first turning drum 14 and thus the respective first turning drum 14, are located within the permissible transport width of the corn spout 2 defined by the straight lines or planes 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction in the transport position of the corn spout 2 shown in [Fig.2], 3. The casing 14a of the first turning drums 14 is shown in [Fig. 5], this truncated cone-shaped casing 14a narrowing from top to bottom in the working position of the corn spout 2 and consequently widening from bottom to top. The feed drums 12 also have a truncated cone-shaped casing 12a which, however, narrows from top to bottom and consequently widens from top to bottom. Furthermore, [Fig.5] shows that the second turning drums 15 have a frustoconical outline, and this, in an orientation similar to the first turning drums turning 14, that is to say so that, in the working position of the corn spout 2, the envelope 15a of the second turning drums 15 narrows from top to bottom and consequently widens from bottom to top. As can best be seen in [Fig.2], 3, a first of the first turning drums 14 is adjacent, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, to a first of the two straight lines or planes 17 extending in the vertical direction, and a second of the first turning drums 14 is adjacent to a second of the two straight lines or planes 18 extending in the vertical direction, such that the frustoconical envelope 14a of the respective first turning drum 14 does not intersect the respective straight line or plane 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction. For this purpose, a conicity angle of the frustoconical envelope 14a of the respective first turning drum 14 is adapted to a pivot angle, respectively folding angle of the respective first harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10b, so that, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, a respective laterally outer side or a respective laterally outer edge of the respective frustoconical envelope 14a of the respective first turning drum 14 extends parallel or approximately parallel to the respective straight lines or planes 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction. As already explained, for the transfer of the corn spout from the working position to the transport position, the second turning drums 15 are pivotable, respectively foldable, together with the second lateral harvesting and feeding units 10c, around the respective axes 16 relative to the first lateral harvesting and feeding units 10b. According to [Fig. 2] and 3, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, the two second turning drums 15 are arranged on different sides of the central straight line or central plane 19 extending in the vertical direction, in the transport position of the corn spout 2 a first of the second turning drums 15 being adjacent to a first side and a second of the second turning drums 15 being adjacent to a second side of the central straight line or central plane 19 extending in the vertical direction, and this, in such a way that the frustoconical envelope 15a of the respective second turning drum 15 does not intersect the central straight line or central plane 19. For this purpose, a conicity angle of the frustoconical wrapper 15a of the respective second turning drum 15 can be adapted to the pivot angle, respectively to the folding angle of the respective second external harvesting and feeding unit 10c, so that, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, a laterally inner side or a laterally inner edge of the respective frustoconical wrapper 15a of the respective second turning drum 15 extends parallel or approximately parallel to the respective central line or central plane 19. With each of the two first turning drums 14 cooperates a scraping member 21 comprising several scraping tongues 20. Scraping members 21 of this type are also associated with the second turning drums 15. The scraping tongues 20 are seen in the detail of [Fig. 6], which shows a turning drum 14, respectively 15 together with a scraping member 21 associated therewith. The scraping members 20 associated with the turning drums 14, 15 are pivotable, respectively foldable, together with the respective turning drums 14, 15, during the transfer of the corn spout 2 between the working position and the transport position. Therefore, the scraping members 21 associated with the first turning drums 14 are pivotable, respectively foldable relative to the central harvesting and feeding units 10a together with the first turning drums 14 and the central harvesting and feeding units 10b. The scraping members 21 associated with the second turning drums 15 are pivotable, respectively foldable relative to the first lateral harvesting and feeding units 10b together with the second turning drums 15 and the second lateral harvesting and feeding units 10c. The scraping tabs 20 of the scraping members 21 associated with the first turning drums and therefore these scraping members 21 are located, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, together with the first turning drums 14, entirely within the transport width of the corn spout 2 defined by the straight lines or planes 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction. The scraping tabs 20 have scraping edges 20a and edges 20b opposite the scraping edges 20a, a path 22, on which the edges 20b of the scraping tabs 20 of the respective scraping member 21 are located opposite the scraping edges 20a, does not intersect, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, the respective straight line or plane 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction. On the other hand, as can be seen in [Fig.2], 3, this path 22 of the scraping members 21 associated with the first turning drums 14, on which the edges 20b of the scraping tabs 20 opposite the scraping edges 20a of the scraping tabs 20 rest, is preferably parallel or approximately parallel to the respective straight lines or planes 17, 18 extending in the vertical direction, in particular coincides with the respective laterally outer side, in the transport position of the corn spout 2, of the frustoconical wrapper 14a of the respective first turning drum 14. . As already stated, the second turning drums 15 are also associated scraper members 21 of this type which are pivotable together with the respective second harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10c relative to the respective first adjacent harvesting and lateral feeding unit 10b. In the transport position of the corn spout 2, the scraper tabs 20 of the scraper member 21 associated with the first of the second turning drums 15 therefore rest on the first side, and the scraper tabs 20 of the scraper member 21 associated with the second of the second turning drums 15 rest on the second side of the central straight line or central plane 19.The respective path 22, on which edges 20b of the respective scraping member 20 opposite the scraping edges 20a of the scraping tongues 20, do not intersect the central straight line or the central plane 19 extending in the vertical direction, but preferably extends parallel to it, in particular coinciding with the respective inner side in the transport position of the corn spout or with the respective inner edge of the frustoconical wrapper 15a of the respective second turning drum 15. Even with a corn spout which has a working width of, for example, up to 12 m, the above design of the corn spout 2 allows a compact transport position which allows road transport of the corn spout 2 in a coupled state to the carrier vehicle 3. The respective turning drums 14, 15 are thus pivotable, respectively foldable in the manner described above together with the respective lateral harvesting and feeding units 10b, 10c and have, in the manner described above, a defined conicity angle which is adapted to a folding angle and thus to a pivoting angle of the harvesting and feeding units 10b, 10c. The same applies to the scraping members 21 which are associated with the turning drums 14, 15 and which, from the point of view of the contour of their scraping tongues 20, namely the contour of the edges 20b of the scraping tongues 20 opposite the scraping edges 20a, are adapted to the frustoconical contour of the envelope 14a, 15a of the respective turning drum 14, 15 and therefore to its angle of conicity and therefore to the angle of folding of the harvesting and feeding units 10b, 10c.
