Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Toilet installation and kit comprising a trapdoor
[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of sanitary equipment.
[0002] More specifically, the invention relates to a toilet installation, advantageously suspended, and a kit allowing the creation of this installation.
[0003] Toilets are known whose bowl is directly placed and fixed on a supporting floor which forms a supporting structure.
[0004] These toilets comprise a tank carried by the bowl, a flushing mechanism closing off a water outlet from the tank towards the bowl, and a filling system conventionally incorporating a mechanism for stopping filling from a predetermined level. The tank has a cover allowing access to the water storage volume in which the filling system and the mechanism for stopping filling from a predetermined level are conventionally installed (for example, a float valve).
[0005] In the field of the invention, so-called "hanging" toilets are also known.
[0006] A wall-hung toilet (or suspended WC) comprises a frame secured to a supporting structure and located behind a wall, as well as a bowl fixed to the frame through the wall, for example by means of a threaded rod.
[0007] Wall-hung toilets allow only the bowl and a flush control mechanism to be left visible, allowing the bowl to be cleaned.
[0008] In fact, the principle of suspended toilets consists of positioning behind the wall, with the frame, a water tank intended to form the flush, the system for filling the water tank from a water inlet, as well as the mechanism for flushing the tank into the bowl.
[0009] The wall separating the bowl from the frame is traditionally a fixed wall which is not intended to be dismantled during maintenance of the mechanisms of the suspended toilets. For example, a fixed wall can correspond to a plasterboard fixed on a metal frame.
[0010] As with non-wall-hung toilets, the filling system and the flushing mechanism are installed inside the water tank mounted on the frame. For this purpose, the water tank of a wall-hung toilet installation has an opening on an upper part to allow access to the various components, and the wall also has an opening adapted to that presented by the tank. Com These openings are normally closed by a flush control plate.
[0011] When performing maintenance on a wall-hung toilet, an operator must remove the control plate to access the filling system and the flushing mechanism. The openings in the tank and the wall are designed to allow the aforementioned components of the wall-hung toilet to be mounted, dismounted, inserted, and removed. These components are also designed to be mounted and dismounted from inside the tank.
[0012] These suspended toilets have several disadvantages.
[0013] First of all, the positioning behind a wall of the flushing mechanisms and the filling system can have an anxiety-inducing effect for users of this type of system because a potential leak could not be visible and / or easily accessible for repair.
[0014] Also, access to the interior of the tank through the openings to work on the components of the suspended toilets can be described as difficult and requires blind operation.
[0015] Indeed, once a person has inserted his or her hand or hands inside the tank through the openings, it is not or hardly possible to observe the components on which he or she is working.
[0016] The invention aims in particular to overcome these drawbacks of the prior art.
[0017] More specifically, the invention aims to propose a toilet installation which facilitates access to and maintenance of its components integrated behind a wall.
[0018] The invention also aims to provide such an installation which makes it possible to reduce the anxiety-inducing side of toilets, with regard to the potential consequences of a leak.
[0019] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved thanks to the invention which has as its subject a toilet installation comprising: - a supporting structure located behind a wall; - a bowl located in front of the wall; - a water tank carried by the supporting structure, and located behind the wall; - a system for filling the tank from a water inlet, comprising a mechanism for stopping filling from a predetermined level; - means of connecting the filling system to the tank; - a gravity flow tank flushing mechanism; - at least one hatch provided in the wall; - means for coupling the flushing mechanism to the tank; - means for controlling the flushing mechanism; the filling system and the flushing mechanism being mounted behind the wall, characterized in that: - the filling system and the flushing mechanism are located at least partially outside the tank; - the means of connection of the filling system are located outside the tank; - the means of coupling the flushing mechanism are located outside the tank; the or at least one of the hatches being positioned on the wall to allow access to the means of connecting the filling system and to the means of coupling the flushing mechanism.
[0020] Thanks to the installation according to the invention, it is possible to access the filling system and the flushing mechanism easily through the hatch.
[0021] Thanks to the positions outside the tank of the connection means and the coupling means, the assembly and disassembly of the filling system and the flushing mechanism can be carried out from outside the tank, from the access provided by the hatch.
[0022] Of course, this hatch is then distinct from the openings in the wall and the tank according to the prior art (openings positioned only opposite and directly adjacent to each other) which only form access to the interior of the tank.
[0023] Furthermore, through the hatch of the installation according to the invention, it is possible to see the filling system and the flushing mechanism which are located at least partially outside the tank, from the volume located behind the wall, outside the tank. Thus, for example, it is possible to check the absence of leaks external to the tank.
[0024] The installation according to the invention thus facilitates intervention on its filling system and its flushing mechanism in that the operator intervening on this mechanism can directly observe his manipulations on the components of the toilet.
[0025] According to a preferred embodiment, the installation comprises a frame coupled to the supporting structure, and located behind the wall, the bowl being suspended from the frame through the wall, and the tank being mounted on the frame.
[0026] The installation is thus a suspended toilet installation.
[0027] Advantageously, the filling system and a closing member of the flushing mechanism are underlying the tank.
[0028] This positioning simplifies the design of the installation components and facilitates intervention on these components.
[0029] In fact, the hatch is then located above the bowl, and below the tank, at an easy height for maintenance work.
[0030] According to an advantageous characteristic, the filling system comprises a water supply stopcock located outside the tank behind the at least one hatch provided in the wall.
[0031] In this way, it is possible to stop the water supply to the tank, for example if a leak is detected in the flushing system, without having to put your hand inside said tank.
[0032] Advantageously, the filling stop mechanism is preferably a weighing tap.
[0033] In this way, the tap makes it possible to stop the filling of the water tank thanks to the increase in the mass of water contained in the tank as it fills.
[0034] Such a tap can be located outside the tank, which forms a particularly advantageous solution within the framework of the invention.
[0035] According to a preferred characteristic, the installation comprises a pipe for draining an overflow from the tank into a water passage opening into the bowl.
[0036] As a result, the tank does not overflow in the event of a failure of the filling stop mechanism. Indeed, the drain pipe allows excess water to flow into the water passage opening into the bowl in the presence of such a failure of the filling stop mechanism.
[0037] Preferably, the water passage is that taken by the water from the tank during a flush.
[0038] If an overflow of water is drained from the tank, a person may notice this because water would then flow into the bowl.
[0039] This also simplifies the design of the installation because a single water passage allows the arrival of overflow drain water and flush water towards the bowl.
[0040] According to a first advantageous solution, the reservoir comprises: - a main part intended for storing water; - a drain extension, advantageously made in one piece with the main part; the drain extension extending from an upper end of the main portion of the tank, to near a lower end of the main portion of the tank to position a drain outlet there; and the drain pipe is connected to the drain outlet and the water passage.
[0041] Intervention on the drain pipe is thus particularly easy given that it is offset below the tank, or close to a lower end of the tank.
[0042] According to a second solution, the tank has a water inlet extending from the tank towards the outside of the tank, the connection means connecting the filling system to the water inlet of the tank from the outside of the tank, and the tank comprises: - a main part intended for storing water; - a water inlet extension, advantageously made in one piece with the main part; the water inlet extension positioning the water inlet near a lower end of the main part of the drain tank is connected to the drain outlet and the water passage.
[0043] The tank thus has a simplified design avoiding risks of leakage between the water inlet and the upper part of the tank due to the fact that the water inlet extension is made of the same material as the main part of the tank.
[0044] For the first previous solution, even more advantageously, the tank has a water inlet extending from the tank towards the outside of the tank, the connection means connecting the filling system to the water inlet of the tank from the outside of the tank, and the tank comprises a water inlet extension made of the same material as the main part, and positioning the water inlet close to a lower end of the main part of the tank.
[0045] The tank thus has a design that minimizes the risk of leaks and allows the water inlet and the drain outlet to be positioned near or below a lower end of the main part of the tank.
[0046] The invention also relates to a kit for producing a suspended toilet installation, comprising: - a frame intended to be fixed to a supporting structure, and intended to allow the suspension of a bowl through a wall; - a water tank intended to be mounted on the frame; - a system for filling the tank from a water inlet, comprising a mechanism for stopping filling from a predetermined level; - a tank flushing mechanism; characterized in that: - the flushing mechanism comprises means for coupling to the cistern from outside the cistern, the flushing mechanism being designed to be located at least partially outside the cistern; - the filling system comprises means for connection to the tank from outside the tank, the filling system being designed to be located at least partially outside the tank.
[0047]
[0048]
[0049]
[0050] The kit according to the invention makes it possible to carry out a suspended toilet installation having the advantages of the aforementioned toilet installation. Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following description of different preferred embodiments of the invention, given as illustrative and non-limiting examples, and the appended drawings among which: • [Fig.l] [Fig.l] is a schematic representation seen from the front of an installation according to the invention; • [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a schematic representation seen from the front of an ins installation according to the invention in which a cover plate of a hatch has been removed to access components of the wall-hung toilet installation; • [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a schematic representation from the rear of an installation according to the invention; • [Fig.4] [Fig.4] is a schematic representation in front perspective of a frame, a tank, a tank filling system, and a flushing mechanism of a wall-hung toilet installation according to the invention; • [Fig.5] [Fig.5] is a schematic representation seen from above of an installation according to the invention; • [Fig.6] [Fig.6] is a schematic representation from a rear perspective of a tank of an installation and of a kit according to the invention; • [Fig.7] [Fig.7] is a partial schematic representation in perspective of an installation according to another embodiment, without frame; • [Fig.8] [Fig.8] is a schematic representation seen from the front of an installation according to the invention in which a control plate is offset. Referring to Figures 1 to 5, a toilet installation according to the invention is shown. Toilet installation 1 includes: - a supporting structure; - a water tank 4; - a filling system 5 for the tank 4; - means 52 for connecting the filling system 5 to the tank 4; - a flushing mechanism 6 of the tank 4 with gravity flow; - coupling means 61 of the flushing mechanism 6 on the tank 4; - means for controlling the flushing mechanism; - a wall 10; - a bowl 3.
[0051] With reference to the embodiment of [Fig.7], the tank 4 is carried by the supporting structure which is a load-bearing wall having a reservation for housing components of the installation 1. The tank 4 can be directly coupled to the supporting structure, for example using lag screws.
[0052] According to the embodiments of figures 1 to 6, this installation is more precisely a suspended toilet installation.
[0053] The installation 1 also comprises a frame 2 coupled to the supporting structure.
[0054] The installation 1 of suspended toilets is obtained thanks to a kit according to the invention, allowing the creation of an installation of suspended toilets.
[0055] The kit includes: - a frame 2; - a water tank 4; - a filling system 5 for the tank 4; - means 52 for connecting the filling system 5 to the tank 4; - a flushing mechanism 6 of the tank 4 with gravity flow; - coupling means 61 of the flushing mechanism 6 on the tank 4; - means for controlling the flushing mechanism;
[0056] The following description of the installation elements is applicable to the kit elements.
[0057] The supporting structure corresponds, for example, to a supporting floor, and / or a supporting wall, and is located behind the wall 10.
[0058] The frame 2 is coupled to a supporting structure, and is located behind the wall 10.
[0059] The bowl 3 is located in front of the wall 10.
[0060] According to the present embodiments, in which the installation 1 comprises a frame 2, the frame 2 is coupled to the supporting structure, and the bowl 3 is suspended from the frame 2 through the wall 10.
[0061] The bowl 3 is intended to be connected to a water evacuation tube 103.
[0062] With reference to [Fig.5] more specifically, the wall 10 has a front face 101 and a rear face 102.
[0063] The bowl 3 is thus located on the side of the front face 101 of the wall 10 while the supporting structure, and the frame 2 if applicable, are located on the side of the rear face 102 of the wall 10.
[0064] With reference to figures 3 to 5, the frame 2 comprises, according to this embodiment, two uprights 21, crosspieces 22 connecting the two uprights 21, and legs 23 mounted adjustable in height in the uprights 21.
[0065] The frame 2 may also comprise fixing arms 24 allowing components of the installation to be suspended therefrom.
[0066] As mentioned previously, the frame 2 is coupled (or intended to be coupled) to a supporting structure.
[0067] For this purpose, the frame 2 has holes, allowing it to be fixed to the supporting structure.
[0068] Lag screws can thus be used by being inserted through the holes to fix the frame 2 in the supporting structure.
[0069] According to one embodiment envisaged, the bowl 3 rests on a supporting structure.
[0070] According to the embodiments shown in figures 1, 2, and 8, the bowl 3 is suspended from the frame 2 through the wall 10 by conventional means.
[0071] These conventional means may for example correspond to threaded rods screwed into the frame 2 and passing through the wall 10 to emerge from the side of the front face 101 of the wall 10.
[0072] The bowl 3 is then fitted onto the threaded rods and held in place by means of nuts screwed onto the threaded rods.
[0073] As can be seen in Figures 1 to 4, the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6 are mounted behind the wall 10.
[0074] More precisely and with reference to figures 1, 2, and 8, the installation 1 comprises at least one hatch 7, and in this case a single hatch 7, which is arranged in the wall 10.
[0075] This hatch 7 provides access to the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6.
[0076] Indeed, the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6 are located at least partially outside the tank 4.
[0077] This filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6 are in fact designed to be located at least partially outside the tank 1, and to be accessible from outside the tank 4, unlike the filling systems and flushing mechanisms of toilets suspended from a frame according to the prior art which are designed to be located inside a water tank of suspended toilets, and to be accessible from inside the tank 4.
[0078] According to the embodiments shown, the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6 are in fact designed to be located entirely outside the tank 1.
[0079] However, according to other embodiments envisaged, the filling system 5 and / or the flushing mechanism 6 may comprise a part inserted into the tank 1.
[0080] The hatch 7 also provides access to the connection means 52 of the filling system 5 and to the coupling means 61 of the flushing mechanism 6.
[0081] Consequently, the hatch(es) 7 are positioned on the wall 10 so as to allow access to the connection means 52 and the coupling means 61. In this case, the hatch 7 is positioned above the bowl 3.
[0082] Indeed, the connection means 52 and the coupling means 61 are located outside the tank 4.
[0083] The assembly and disassembly of the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6, by means of the connection means 52 and the coupling means 61, are only possible from outside the tank 4, without requiring the insertion of a tool or a hand into the tank 4.
[0084] The water tank 4, the filling system 5, and the flushing mechanism 6 are described in more detail below.
[0085] As can be seen in Figures 3 to 5, the water tank 4 is mounted on the frame 2. This water tank 4 is more specifically mounted between the two uprights 21, in an upper part of the frame 2. For example, the water tank 4 is mounted on the frame 2 using flanges.
[0086] With reference to figures 3, 4 and 6, the water tank 4 has a main part 41 intended to store the water.
[0087] This water reserve is intended to constitute the flush intended to be emptied into the bowl 3.
[0088] The tank 4 comprises a water discharge outlet 44 located on a lower face 404 of the tank 4, and more specifically of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0089] The water draining from the tank 4 to form the flush is thus drained through the water drain outlet 44.
[0090] In order to be able to be filled with water, the tank 4 has a water inlet 431.
[0091] As can be seen more specifically in Figures 3 and 6, the reservoir 4 includes a water inlet extension 43 which is integral with the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0092] This water inlet extension 43 positions the water inlet 431 near a lower end 412 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0093] As detailed below, the filling system 5 is connected to the water inlet 431.
[0094] The water inlet extension 43 is intended to extend parallel to one of the uprights 21.
[0095] The water inlet extension 43 extends more specifically along one of the uprights 21.
[0096] To prevent the tank 4 from overflowing around the frame 2, on the side of the rear face 102 of the wall 10, the tank 4 also comprises a drain extension 42.
[0097] This drain extension 42 is made in one piece with the main part 4L
[0098] The drain extension 42 extends from the upper end 411 of the main part 41 of the tank 4, to near the lower end 412 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0099] More precisely, the drain extension 42 extends from the upper end 411, below the height at which the water inlet extension 43 extends from the main part 41 of the tank. An overflow water level is thus defined which is for example 20 mm minimum.
[0100] The drain extension 42 makes it possible to position a drain outlet 421 near the lower end 412 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0101] The drain extension 42 is connected to the main part 41 at a height lower than that of the connection of the water inlet extension 43 to the main part 4L.
[0102] The drain extension 42 is intended to extend parallel to one of the uprights 21 of the frame 2.
[0103] More specifically, the drain extension 42 extends along one of the uprights 21 of the frame 2.
[0104] The installation 1 also comprises a drain pipe 81 for draining an overflow from the tank 4 into a water passage 82 opening into the bowl 3.
[0105] This water passage 82 is the one taken by the water from the tank 4 during a toilet flush.
[0106] The drain pipe 81 connects the drain outlet 421 to the water passage 82. The drain pipe 81 thus forms a fluid communication between the drain outlet 421 and the water passage 82.
[0107] The design of the tank 4 thus makes it possible to position the water discharge outlet 44, the water inlet 431, and the drain outlet 421 close to the lower end 412 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0108] More specifically, the water discharge outlet 44, the water inlet 431, and the drain outlet 421 extend below the height of the lower face 404 of the tank 4 in the installation 1.
[0109] With respect to the tank 4, the water discharge outlet 44, the water inlet 431, and the drain outlet 421 extend beyond the lower face 404 from the upper end 411 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0110] To avoid negative pressure of the tank 4 during a flush, or air suction through the drain pipe 81, the tank 4 is provided with a decompression means 45.
[0111] This decompression means 45 can simply take the form of an opening. This decompression means 45 can also integrate a one-way valve to allow only one suction of air from the space external to the tank 4. The tank 4 can be defined as being vented.
[0112] This decompression means 45 is located on an upper face 405 of the main part 41 of the tank 4.
[0113] According to the present embodiment, the tank 4 comprises a bottom extension 46 opening out extending downwards from the lower face 404 of the main part 41 of the tank 4. This bottom extension 46 extends parallel to the water evacuation outlet 44.
[0114] The function of this lower extension 46 is discussed below in relation to the filling system.
[0115] With reference to [Fig.6], the lower extension 46 and the water discharge outlet 44 each have an external thread.
[0116] As mentioned previously, the filling system 5 is connected to the water inlet 431 of the tank 4.
[0117] The filling system 5 is in particular connected to the water inlet 431 of the tank 4 via the connection means 52.
[0118] These connection means 52 are designed to make a connection from outside the tank 4.
[0119] These connection means 52 comprise for example a nut screwed onto an external thread presented by the water inlet 431 which then has a tubular shape, and a seal compressed by the nut onto the water inlet 431.
[0120] These connection means 52 can also take the form of a fusion of material produced by gluing.
[0121] The filling system 5 of the tank 4 supplies water to the tank 4.
[0122] More specifically, the filling system 5 of the tank 4 makes it possible to fill water tank 4 from a water inlet 50.
[0123] This filling system 5 comprises a mechanism 51 for stopping the filling from a predetermined level.
[0124] This stop mechanism 51 stops the filling of the tank 4 with water as soon as the predetermined level is reached.
[0125] According to the present embodiment, the filling stop mechanism 5 is a weighing tap 51.
[0126] This weighing tap 51 measures the weight of the water column located in the main part 41 of the tank 4 and stops the water supply as soon as a determined weight is reached, this predetermined weight then being correlated with the water level in the tank 4.
[0127] The weighing valve can for example use an elastically deformable membrane coupled jointly to the lower extension 46 emerging from the tank 4. In this case, the mass of the water column above the membrane in the tank 4 elastically deforms the membrane and allows the water level in the tank to be known.
[0128] The weighing tap can also be designed to measure the weight of the tank 4. In this case, the tank 4 is mounted to be mobile in height relative to the frame 2.
[0129] According to another conceivable embodiment, the mechanism 51 for stopping the filling 5 may be a float valve. In this case, the float is inserted into the main part 41 of the tank 4 through the lower extension 46.
[0130] In cases where the lower extension 46 is present and used, the connecting means 52 also make it possible to couple the stopping mechanism 51 to the lower extension 45.
[0131] The connection means 52 then comprise, for example, a nut screwed onto an external thread presented by the lower extension 46.
[0132] Alternatively, the filling stop mechanism 51 may be an electronic tap measuring the volume of water used to supply the tank 4 and stopping the water supply as soon as a predetermined volume has been sent into the tank 4.
[0133] According to yet another alternative, the filling stop mechanism 5 may be a water detector designed to detect a draining of water into the drain pipe 81 to stop the supply of water to the tank 4.
[0134] The filling system 5 also comprises a water supply tap 52.
[0135] This supply stopcock 53 allows in a first position to authorize the supply of water, and in a second position to prevent the supply of water.
[0136] This supply stopcock 53 is located outside the tank 4. This supply stopcock 53 is advantageously located behind the hatch 7 provided in the wall 10.
[0137] As can be seen, the filling system 5 comprises a supply pipe 54 extending from the supply stopcock 53 to the water inlet 431 to establish fluid communication. The connection means 52 thus make it possible to connect the supply pipe 54 to the water inlet 431.
[0138] The flushing mechanism 6 is connected to the water evacuation outlet 44 of the tank 4 and allows fluid communication, during a flush, with the water passage 82 which is intended to open into the bowl 3.
[0139] This flushing mechanism 6 takes for example the form of a housing provided with a valve closing a pipe of the housing. In this case, the flushing mechanism 6 is located outside the tank 4.
[0140] According to another conceivable embodiment, the flushing mechanism 6 may be partially located in the tank 4. In this case, the flushing mechanism water is designed to be partially inserted into the water tank 4 from the space external to the tank 4 through the water discharge outlet 44.
[0141] The coupling means 61 are located outside the tank 4. These coupling means 61 are more precisely accessible and manipulable from outside the tank 4.
[0142] These coupling means 61 comprise for example a nut designed to be screwed onto the external thread of the water discharge outlet 44, and a seal intended to be compressed by the nut onto the water discharge outlet 44.
[0143] As can be seen in the figures, the filling system 5 and at least one closing member, for example a valve, of the flushing mechanism 6 are underlying the tank 4. In this case, the flushing mechanism 6 is underlying the tank 4.
[0144] The hatch 7 arranged in the wall 10 allows access below the tank 4 to the filling system 5 and the flushing mechanism 6 during an intervention.
[0145] The various components underlying the tank 4 are thus mounted in the installation from the outside of the tank 4.
[0146] Maintenance thus does not require blindly plunging hands inside the tank 4, unlike in the prior art.
[0147] As mentioned previously, control means make it possible to trigger a flush.
[0148] With reference to Figures 1 and 2, and 8, the control means comprise a control plate 9 provided with an actuation button 91.
[0149] This actuation button 91 makes it possible to actuate the flushing mechanism 6.
[0150] The control mechanism may, for example, be a cable mechanism, a pneumatic mechanism, a radio mechanism and / or a contactless mechanism.
[0151] Unlike the prior art, the control plate 9 does not form an access hatch to the interior of the tank. In other words, the control plate 9 is separate from the hatch 7.
[0152] The hatch 7 is formed from an opening 70 made in the wall 10 and comprises a cover plate 71 intended to cover the opening 70.
[0153] The cover plate 71 is advantageously magnetized to facilitate the opening and closing of the hatch.
[0154] The hatch 7 is also provided with centering means to guarantee the relative positioning of the cover plate 71 with respect to the opening 70.
[0155] The hatch 7 provides access to: - to the filling system 5; - to the connection means 52 of the filling system 5; - to the flushing mechanism 6; - to the coupling means 61 of the flushing mechanism 6, for their assembly, their disassembly, or even their maintenance.
