Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Shoe outsole and method of manufacturing such an outsole Technical field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of footwear, and, in particular, to women's shoes having so-called flat heels. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a shoe outer sole, to a shoe sole comprising such a shoe outer sole and to a shoe comprising such a shoe sole. The present disclosure further relates to a method of manufacturing a shoe outer sole, to a method of manufacturing a shoe sole and to a method of manufacturing a shoe. Prior art
[0002] In the field of luxury shoes, in particular, it is known to provide a shoe with a sole whose outer sole is two-tone. The outer sole is, for example, made of leather. The edge of the outer sole, visible on the side of the shoe, generally has a first color, harmonious with the color of the upper of the shoe. For example, the edge of the outer sole is black. To do this, the edge of the sole is, for example, varnished or waxed.
[0003] However, the lower surface of the outsole, visible under the shoe, may have a second color. This second color may be brighter. This second color may be a signature of the shoe brand. For example, this second color is red. This second color may be obtained by means of a layer of colored varnish or polish, for example.
[0004] However, the color under the sole tends to fade due to wear of the outer sole. Friction on the ground, in particular, scratches the colored layer of the outer sole. Generally, this colored layer then reveals a layer, for example of leather, of neutral color. This harms the aesthetics of the shoe.
[0005] However, it has been proposed to make the outer sole from a plastic material, in particular thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). To do this, it has been proposed to make the outer sole in two pieces: an annular part, defining the edge of the outer sole, is made of a first color, and a central part, arranged inside the annular part, and defining the support surface of the outer sole on the ground, is made of a second color. The production in colored plastic allows the annular and central parts to be colored in the mass. Thus, even in the event of wear, the color of the outer sole is preserved.
[0006] The production of such an outer sole may then comprise the molding of the annular part, the molding of the central part and the assembly of the annular and central parts to form the outer sole. For example, the annular and central parts are assembled by gluing, using an adhesive suitable for gluing TPU.
[0007] This process is however complex, which involves many delicate steps.
[0008] Finally, it was proposed in application WO-A-2021084181, in the name of the Applicant, to produce a shoe outer sole comprising, preferably consisting of, a central part and an annular part projecting laterally from the edge of the central part, by carrying out the following successive steps: (i) provide the annular part; and (ii) overmolding the central part onto the annular part, by injection molding, so as to form an outer sole in which the central and annular parts are secured.
[0009] The sole thus obtained may have a rendering which differs from the rendering of classic soles, particularly in leather. This rendering may be considered by certain customers as less aesthetic than the rendering of a classic leather sole. Summary
[0010] The present disclosure improves the situation.
[0011] There is provided a shoe outsole, comprising, preferably consisting of, a base portion of a first color and a trim, the base portion forming a perimeter and a transverse portion defining two openings within the perimeter, the trim comprising a first portion of a second color and a second portion of a third color, each filling one of the two openings in the base portion, the first and second portions of the trim being overmolded onto the base portion, the first color preferably being different from the second and third colors.
[0012] Thus, advantageously, it is possible to produce an outer sole whose aesthetic is similar to that of a leather outer sole. However, the outer sole retains its colors despite wear, in particular despite the friction of a lower face of the outer sole on the ground during walking.
[0013] Preferably, the shoe outsole has one or more of the following features, taken alone or in combination: - the transverse portion and a rear portion of the circumference are thicker, in the direction of the thickness of the outer sole of the shoe, than a front portion of the circumference; - the rear portion of the perimeter of the base part and the transverse portion of the base part delimit a cavity, preferably substantially cylindrical, the cavity being partially blocked, on a lower face of the outer sole, by a flat portion of the base part; - the flat portion has a rounded end, at the rounded end of a heel of the outer sole of the shoe and, preferably, opposite in the lengthwise direction of the outer sole of the shoe, a straight, beveled or “V” end; - the base part comprises a relief projecting into the cavity, the relief preferably still being substantially flush with the periphery, on the upper face of the outer sole of the shoe; - the second portion of the lining extends partly between the protruding relief in the cavity and the flat portion of the base part; - the relief is cylindrical, preferably with an “H” cross-section; - the first portion of the lining covers the front portion of the perimeter of the base part, on the underside of the outer sole of the shoe; and - the second and third colors are identical.
[0014] According to another aspect, there is provided a shoe sole comprising an outer sole as described above, in all its combinations, and a mounting sole, the mounting sole and the outer sole being fixed together, in particular by gluing and / or sewing.
[0015] The shoe sole may further comprise a heel, interposed between the mounting sole and the outer sole, the heel preferably being glued to the mounting sole.
[0016] The shoe sole may further comprise a first insole, arranged such that the mounting sole is interposed between the first insole and the outer sole.
[0017] The insole may be made of leather or plastic and / or the mounting sole may comprise at least one layer of cardboard, preferably at least a plurality of layers of cardboard or is, in whole or in part, made of plastic.
[0018] There is further described a shoe comprising an upper attached to a shoe sole as described above, in all its combinations.
[0019] According to another aspect, there is described a method of manufacturing a shoe outsole as described above, in all its combinations, the method comprising the steps of: (i) provide the base part in a first material; and (ii) overmolding the first and second portions of the lining onto the base portion, by injection molding a second material and a third material, respectively, so as to form an outsole in which the first and second portions of the lining are secured to the base portion.
[0020] Step (i) may consist of molding the base part, by injection molding the first material, in a mold, the mold being closed by means of a first mold cover, the mold and the first mold cover defining an imprint of the base part.
[0021] Step (ii) may consist of: a) injecting the second material into the mold, closed by a second mold cover, the second mold cover, the mold and the base portion defining an imprint of at least the first portion of the lining; and b) injecting the third material into the mold, closed by a third mold cover, the third mold cover, the mold and the base portion defining an imprint of at least the second portion of the lining; sub-steps a) and b) can be carried out one after the other.
[0022] The first, second and third materials may be plastic materials, in particular thermoplastic polyurethane.
[0023] The first material may be a first color and the second and third materials may be a second color, the second and third materials preferably being identical.
[0024] The method may comprise a cooling step following the step of molding the lining and / or the step of molding the base part, where appropriate, the cooling step preferably being carried out with the mold closed, the cooling step preferably still lasting at least thirty seconds, preferably at least one minute, even more preferably at least two minutes.
[0025] The first material and / or the second material and / or the third material, where appropriate, may be injected at a temperature greater than or equal to 150°C and / or less than or equal to 250°C, preferably at a temperature of 200°C.
[0026] Also described is a method of manufacturing a shoe sole comprising the steps of: (a) provide a mounting sole; (b) providing an outsole, by implementing the method as described above in all its combinations; and (c) joining the inner and outer soles, in particular by gluing and / or sewing.
[0027] A method of manufacturing a shoe is also described, comprising the steps of: (1) provide a stem; (2) providing a shoe sole, by implementing the method described above in all its combinations; and (3) joining the upper and the sole of the shoe, in particular by gluing and / or sewing. [0040] In the remainder of the description, elements that are identical or have the same function bear the same reference sign. These elements are not described in detail with respect to each figure. On the contrary, for the sake of brevity of the present description, only the differences between the various examples are described in detail.
[0041] In the following, the position and orientation references are defined relative to the shoe when it is worn. Thus, for example, the front (or tip) of the shoe corresponds to the end intended to be closest to the wearer's toes, the back of the shoe (or heel) is on the contrary closest to the wearer's heel. The top of the shoe corresponds to the face visible to the wearer, when he wears the shoe, while the lower face is the one intended to be in contact with the ground. Finally, the inside of the shoe is oriented towards the foot received in the shoe; the outside of the shoe is the part intended to be visible from the shoe. The top - of the shoe - is oriented towards the wearer's head while the bottom - of the shoe - is oriented towards the ground.
[0042] [Fig.l] represents an example of a shoe 10. Conventionally, the shoe 10 comprises an upper 12 and a shoe sole 14. The upper 12, which may be made up of the assembly of several parts, constitutes the upper of the shoe 10. The upper 12 forms both the visible (or external) part of the upper of the shoe 10 and the possible lining, inside the shoe 10. The upper 12 and the shoe sole 14 are assembled together by any means accessible to those skilled in the art, in particular by gluing and / or sewing.
[0043] An example of a shoe sole 14 is illustrated in [Fig. 2]. As illustrated in this [Fig. 2], the shoe sole 14 comprises an insole 16, a mounting sole 18, a heel 20 and a shoe outsole 22.
[0044] The insole 16 is for example made of leather or plastic. The insole 16 can be slid into the upper 12, once the upper 12 is fixed to the shoe sole 14. Alternatively, the insole 16 can be glued and / or sewn to the mounting sole 18 and / or the outer sole 22.
[0045] The mounting sole 18 (or inner sole or even first mounting sole) is formed from at least one layer of cardboard, preferably a plurality of layers of cardboard. Alternatively, the mounting sole 18 may also be made of plastic. The mounting sole 18 may further comprise one or more pieces of fabric associated with the at least one layer of cardboard. The mounting sole 18 is fixed to the outer sole 22. In particular, the mounting sole 18 is glued and / or sewn to the outer sole 22. The mounting sole 18 aims in particular to ensure the comfort of the wearer of the shoe 10, by ensuring a certain insulation from the ground on which the shoe 10 rests.
[0046] In the example illustrated in [Fig.2], a heel 20 is interposed between the mounting sole 18 and the outer sole 22. This heel 20 is for example made of plastic material. In particular, the heel 20 is formed by a block of plastic material, intended to be arranged at the rear of the shoe sole 14. The heel 20 can be glued to the mounting sole 18 and / or to the outer sole 22. The heel 20 makes it possible to raise the heel of the person wearing the shoe 10.
[0047] As visible in [Fig. 3], a shoe sole 14 may also be devoid of such a heel 20.
[0048] Finally, a shoe sole 14, as illustrated in [Fig.2] or [Fig.3], comprises an outer sole 22, intended to be in contact with the ground. It is this outer sole 22 which wears when the shoe 10 is worn, in particular by friction on the ground when walking. This outer sole 22 thus aims to limit the wear of the other layers of the shoe sole 14.
[0049] The outer sole 22 comprises a lower face 22B (or outer face) of the outer sole 22, intended to be in contact with the ground, and an upper face 22a (or inner face), intended to be oriented towards the inside of the shoe 14.
[0050] As illustrated in [Fig.4] and [Fig.5], the outer sole 22 essentially comprises, here is formed by, a base portion 24 (or frame) and a lining portion 26, in two distinct portions 26a, 26b, each filling a respective opening 28a, 28b in the base portion 24. Here, the two portions 26a, 26b of the lining 26 are distinct, that is to say separated. In particular, the two portions 26a, 26b of the lining 26 may be of different colors. Alternatively, however, the two portions 26a, 26b of the lining 26 are of the same color.
[0051] Here, the base part 24 has a circumference 30 (or outer contour), here of substantially constant width L. The width L of the circumference 30 is here defined as the thickness of the circumference 30 in the plane of [Fig.4]. The circumference 30 of the base part 24 may have a width L of between 5 mm and 10 mm, in particular a width L of 9 mm.
[0052] A transverse portion 32 of the base part 24 connects two opposite sides of the periphery 30 to define a first opening 28a towards the front of the outer sole 22 relative to the transverse portion 32. The front face 32a of the transverse portion 32 defines the front face of the heel of the outer sole 22. Thus, the transverse portion 32 extends over the entire width of the outer sole 22.
[0053] The front portion 30a of the perimeter 30, located in front of the transverse portion 32 of the base part 24, is thin. For example, the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30 has a thickness greater than 0.5 mm, preferably greater than 1 mm and / or less than 4 mm, preferably less than or equal to 2 mm.
[0054] A first portion 26a (or front portion) of the lining 26 fills the opening 28a delimited by the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30 and the transverse portion 32 of the base part 24. In addition, as can be seen in particular in [Fig.5], the first portion 26a covers the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30 of the base part 24, on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22. As can be seen in [Fig.4], the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30 is not covered by the first portion 26a of the lining 26 on the upper face 22a of the outer sole 22. As can be seen in particular in [Fig.l], the perimeter 30 is not covered by the first portion 26a of the lining 26 on its lateral sides, intended to be oriented towards the outside of the shoe 10, revealing a net 31a of the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30.
[0055] The rear portion 30b of the perimeter 30, located behind the transverse portion 32 of the base part 24, is thicker than the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30. For example, the rear portion 30b of the perimeter 30 has a thickness greater than 3 mm, preferably greater than 5 mm and / or less than 3 cm, preferably 2.5 cm.
[0056] The transverse portion 32 has a thickness substantially equal to the thickness of the rear portion 30b of the periphery 30 of the base part 24.
[0057] The transverse portion 32 and the rear portion 30b of the periphery 30 of the base part 24 define a cavity 34, of generally cylindrical shape. Here, by cylindrical, it is meant that the cavity 34 has a substantially constant cross-section, extending in one direction, here the direction of the thickness of the outer sole 22. The cavity 34 is open over substantially its entire cross-section, on the upper face 22a of the outer sole 22. On the contrary, on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22, the cavity 34 is closed over the majority of its cross-section, by a flat portion 36 of the base part 24. The flat portion 36 defines, with the transverse portion 32, a second opening 28b filled by the second portion 26b (or rear portion) of the lining 26.
[0058] To facilitate holding the second portion 26b of the lining 26 in place, the transverse portion 32 of the base part 24 may include an indentation, for example a shoulder, on its surface oriented towards the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22, receiving the second portion 26b of the lining 26. Preferably, as can be seen in particular in [Fig.5] or [Fig.6], a thread of the transverse portion 32 is visible on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22, at the front end of the heel of the outer sole 22.
[0059] As can be seen in particular in [Fig.5] and [Fig.6], the second portion 26b of the lining 26 partially covers the rear portion 30b of the perimeter 30 of the base part 24, on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22. Preferably, the second portion 26b of the lining 26 reveals on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22 a thread 30f of the rear portion 30b of the perimeter 30 located at the edge of the heel formed by the outer sole 22. In particular, the rear portion 30b of the perimeter 30 can form an indentation, in particular a shoulder, on two lateral sections 33a, 33b delimiting the second opening 28b, in contact with the second portion 26b of the lining 26, facilitating the holding in place of the second portion 26b of the lining 26.Only the thread 30f of the two lateral sections 33a, 33b is then visible on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22, on each side of the flat portion 36 of the base part 24, the second portion 26b of the lining 26 covering the shoulder of the lateral sections 33a, 33b, on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22.
[0060] The base part 24 also comprises, according to the example illustrated, a relief 38 here substantially in the shape of an “H” extending into the cavity 34. The relief 38 may extend from the flat portion 36 and / or from the lateral sections 33a, 33b of the rear portion 30b of the periphery 30. The relief 38 is for example cylindrical, in that it has a substantially constant cross-section, extending in the direction of the thickness of the outer sole 22 (i.e. substantially perpendicular to the planes of [Fig.4] and [Fig.5]). The relief 38 makes it possible to support the heel of the wearer of the shoe, while having reduced dimensions, easier to mold by injection than a solid part.
[0061] The second portion 26b of the lining 26 may extend partially between the relief 38 and the flat portion 36 and / or longitudinally between the relief 38 and the transverse portion 32 of the base part 24, to ensure better holding in position of this second portion 26b of the lining 26.
[0062] Thus, the lateral sides of the heel of the outer sole 22 are, according to the illustrated example, all defined by the base part 24. The second portion 26b of the lining 26 is here only visible on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22.
[0063] On the contrary, the front portion 26a of the lining 26 is visible on the side of the outer sole 22, as is visible in [Fig.l] and [Fig.6], in particular and on the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22. Alternatively, the front portion 26a of the lining 26 may only be visible on the lower face 22B of the sole 22. To do this, the front portion 30a of the periphery 30 forms a shoulder, oriented towards the front portion 26a of the lining 26, so as to extend around the front portion 26a of the lining 26.
[0064] In the illustrated example, the base portion 24 and the trim 26 are of different colors to ensure an aesthetic effect on the shoe 10. In particular, the base portion 24, visible on the side of the shoe 10, when the shoe 10 is worn, is black in color. The black color is in fact a relatively neutral color which blends aesthetically with a large number of colors which can be worn by the upper 12 of the shoe 10.
[0065] The trim 26 which defines a majority of the visible part of the lower face 22B of the outer sole 22 is here red, the signature color. Other colors can however be imagined for the base part 24 and / or the trim 26.
[0066] However, it is also possible to have a trim 26 of several different colors. In particular, the first and second portions 26a, 26b of the trim 26 can be of different colors.
[0067] Furthermore, the flat portion 36 of the base part 24 advantageously has a rounded rear end and a straight, beveled or “V” shaped front end. The flat portion 36 preferably extends over the entire width of the heel of the outer sole 22. The heel of the outer sole 22 thus reproduces a classic pattern of a leather-soled shoe heel, comprising a wear pad, for example made of rubber, at the rear end of the heel, and a leather pad at the front of the heel of the outsole.
[0068] Advantageously, the base part 24 and / or the lining 26 is / are made of plastic material, in particular thermoplastic polyurethane or TPU. Thus, advantageously, the base part 24 and / or the lining 26 are colored in the mass, so that any wear of the base part 24 and / or the lining 26 alters their colors little, if at all.
[0069] In the following, an example of a method 100 for manufacturing the shoe 10 is described.
[0070] Firstly, the outer sole 22 is manufactured.
[0071] To do this, during a first injection step 102, the base portion 24 of the outer sole 22 is molded, by injection molding a first plastic material, in a mold 50 closed by a first mold cover 52. The mold 50 and the first mold cover 52 together define an imprint of the base portion 24 of the outer sole 22. In this case, the mold 50 and the first mold cover 52 define two imprints corresponding to a base portion 24 of the outer sole 22 of the left foot and to a base portion 24 of the outer sole 22 of the right foot.
[0072] During this first injection step 102 of a first plastic material to form the base part 24, the first plastic material may for example be at a temperature greater than or equal to 150°C and / or less than or equal to 250°C, preferably at a temperature substantially equal to 200°C.
[0073] Once the injection of the base part(s) 24 has been carried out, the method 100 may comprise a step 104 of cooling the injected material. The mold 50 may then remain closed by the first mold cover 52 for a duration, for example, greater than thirty seconds, preferably greater than one minute, and even more preferably greater than two minutes.
[0074] [Fig.9] schematically illustrates the blanks of base parts 24 in the mold 50, obtained after this step 104.
[0075] Once the first injected material has cooled, the first cover 52 can be removed and the molded base portion(s) 24 can be deburred. In other words, the portions injected in step 102, which are superfluous with respect to the base portion(s) 24 (in particular the section 54 visible in [Fig.9]), are then removed.
[0076] The first cover 52 can then be replaced by a second cover, during a step 106 of replacing the cover of the mold 50. Advantageously, this step of replacing the first cover 52 by the second cover can be implemented automatically, in particular by means of a machine. The machine implemented can then, advantageously, be programmed to carry out the different injections carried out during the manufacturing process of the ex- sole exterior 22.
[0077] Once the mold 50 is closed by the second cover, the rear portion 26b of the lining 26 of the outer sole 22 is injection molded during a second injection step 108. To do this, a second plastic material is injected. The first and second plastic materials may be identical, except for the color. The second material is for example injected at a temperature greater than or equal to 150°C and / or less than or equal to 250°C, preferably at a temperature substantially equal to 200°C.
[0078] It should be noted here that the second cover defines, with the mold 50 and the base parts 24 remaining in the mold 50, two impressions corresponding to the rear portion 26b of the lining 26 of an outer sole 22 of the left foot and to the rear portion 26b of the lining 26 of an outer sole 22 of the right foot.
[0079] The rear portion 26b of the lining 26 may be overmolded onto the base portion 24, so that the rear portion 26b is received in a shoulder of the transverse portion 32 of the base portion 24 to allow better fixing of the rear portion 26b of the lining 26 onto the base portion 24.
[0080] Once the injection of the rear portion 26b of the lining has been carried out, the method 100 may comprise a step 110 of cooling the second injected material. The mold 50 may then remain closed by the second mold cover for a period, for example, greater than thirty seconds, preferably greater than one minute, more preferably greater than two minutes. Once the second injected material has cooled, the second cover may be removed and the rear portion(s) 26b of the molded linings 26 may be deburred. In other words, the portions injected in step 108, which are superfluous, are then removed. This produces, for example, the blanks visible in [Fig. 10], kept in the mold 50.
[0081] The second cover can then be replaced by a third cover, during a step 112 of replacing the second cover by the third cover. Advantageously, this step of replacing the second cover by the third cover can be implemented automatically, in particular by means of a machine. The machine implemented can then, advantageously, be programmed to carry out the different injections carried out during the manufacturing process of the outer sole 22.
[0082] Once the mold 50 is closed by the third cover, the front portion 26a of the lining 26 of the outer sole 22 is injected during a third injection step 114. To do this, a third plastic material is injected here. The third plastic material may be the same as the second plastic material, used during the second injection step 108, of the same color or different color, depending on the desired result.
[0083] It should be noted here that the third cover defines, with the mold 50, the base parts 24 remaining in the mold 50, two imprints corresponding to the front portion 26a of the lining 26 of an outer sole 22 of the left foot and to the front portion 26a of the lining 26 of an outer sole 22 of the right foot.
[0084] The front portion 26a of the lining 26 is thus overmolded onto the base part 24, in particular onto the front portion 30a of the perimeter 30 of the base part 24.
[0085] Once the injection of the front portion(s) 26a of the lining 26 has been carried out, the method 100 may comprise a step 116 of cooling the third injected material. The mold 50 may then remain closed by the third mold cover 54 for a duration, for example, greater than thirty seconds, preferably greater than one minute, more preferably greater than two minutes. Once the third injected material has cooled, the third cover 54 may be removed and the front portion(s) 26a of the lining may be deburred. In particular, the portions injected in step 114, which are superfluous to the lining 26 and, more generally, to the outer sole 22, are then removed (see in particular the section 56 in [Fig. 11]).
[0086] An outer sole 22 is thus provided.
[0087] The method 100 for manufacturing the shoe 10 can then continue with the manufacturing of the shoe sole 14 of the shoe 10. To do this, here, in addition to the outer sole 22 obtained in step 114, an insole 16, a mounting sole 18 and a heel 20 are provided, if applicable, during a step 118.
[0088] In the following step 120, the insole 16, the mounting sole 18, the heel 20, if applicable, and the outer sole 22 are then combined to form a shoe sole 14. In particular, at least some of the constituent elements of the shoe sole 14 are fixed together, for example by gluing and / or sewing.
[0089] A shoe sole 14 is thus provided at the end of step 120.
[0090] The method 100 of manufacturing a shoe continues at step 122 of providing an upper 12 of the shoe 10.
[0091] Finally, the final step 124 consists of associating the upper 12 and the shoe sole 14 so as to form a shoe 10. In particular, the upper 12 and the shoe sole 14 are fixed together, for example by gluing and / or sewing.
[0092] The invention is not limited to the examples indicated above, but is on the contrary susceptible of numerous variants accessible to those skilled in the art.
[0093] According to a preferred variant of the method for manufacturing the outer sole, the method does not require any deburring step. It is thus possible to carry out the successive injections very quickly, without any intervention on the result of the first molding. In addition, the outer sole obtained after the third injection can advantageously be implemented as it is obtained directly after the third injection.
[0094] Also, the second and third injections - that is to say the two injections forming the front 26a and rear 26b portions of the lining 26 - can be carried out one before the other or concomitantly.
