Description

Title of the invention: Method for managing the consumption of electrical energy for an electrically powered vehicle Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of electrically powered vehicles, in particular motor vehicles. Prior art

[0002] Electrically powered vehicles comprise at least one electrical energy storage battery characterized in particular by a state of health and a state of charge. The state of health, or SOH, represents the maximum storage capacity of the battery at a given time and is evaluated as a percentage of a maximum storage capacity of the battery in new condition. The state of charge of the battery, or SOC, depends on the state of health of the battery and represents the quantity of energy stored in the battery at a given time. The state of charge is evaluated as a percentage of the maximum storage capacity of the battery at the given time.

[0003] By knowing the quantity of energy stored in the battery, expressed in kWh, it is possible to determine a vehicle range, i.e. a distance that the vehicle can travel with said quantity of energy stored in the battery without recharging the battery over this distance. In a context of reducing energy consumption in general, and electrical energy in particular, for environmental and / or financial reasons, it is desirable to better manage the electrical energy consumption of a battery of an electrically powered vehicle. Another objective linked to this problem is to make it possible to avoid vehicle breakdowns due to poor management of electrical energy consumption. Summary

[0004] To this end, the present invention proposes a method for managing the consumption of electrical energy for an electrically powered vehicle, the vehicle comprising an electrical energy storage battery and an electronic control unit, the method comprising:

[0005] a) access to user data associated with a journey planning, access to data associated with a battery charge state,

[0006] b) determining a quantity of usable electrical energy as a function of the state of charge of the battery,

[0007] c) determining a distance to be covered in order to reach an end point of the journey,

[0008] d) the calculation of an overall average consumption of electrical energy of the vehicle at respect to reach the arrival point by dividing the quantity of usable electrical energy by the distance to reach the arrival point and then multiplying the result obtained by a predetermined average distance, and

[0009] e) managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle so that the vehicle respects the overall average consumption of electrical energy calculated to reach the arrival point.

[0010] By imposing on the vehicle an average consumption of electrical energy not to be exceeded in order to reach the arrival point of the journey, the consumption of electrical energy is reduced, and the chances of reaching the arrival point without suffering a breakdown are increased, and this in a simple manner without requiring a complex on-board computing device.

[0011] The features listed in the following paragraphs can be implemented independently of each other or in any technically possible combination:

[0012] In the remainder of the description, the term “consumption” always relates to a consumption of electrical energy, even in the absence of precision.

[0013] The electrically powered vehicle is, for example, a motor vehicle.

[0014] The battery can provide electrical energy to an electric motor for propelling the vehicle.

[0015] The electronic control unit comprises a processor and is configured to receive data and to process this data as will be detailed later.

[0016] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of receiving data associated with a state of charge of the battery.

[0017] The electronic control unit can receive data associated with the state of charge by means of battery sensors.

[0018] The user data associated with a journey planning are for example obtained by means of a vehicle guidance system and the human-machine interface or by means of a user terminal connected to the vehicle such as a mobile phone or a touch-screen tablet.

[0019] The electronic control unit may be configured to determine the amount of usable electrical energy from the state of charge of the battery by providing a state of charge reserve so that the electrical energy remaining in the battery at the arrival point is non-zero.

[0020] The arrival point is in particular a vehicle charging station. By "charging station" is meant a station with one or more charging terminals, or an electrical outlet supporting the charging of an electrically powered vehicle such as at the vehicle owner's home.

[0021] Preferably, the method comprises accessing terminal position data of electric vehicle charging.

[0022] The position data of electric vehicle charging stations are for example obtained by means of a vehicle guidance system and the human-machine interface or by means of a user terminal connected to the vehicle such as a mobile phone or a touch-screen tablet.

[0023] The electronic control unit can be configured to calculate an overall average consumption of electrical energy of the vehicle to be respected to reach the arrival point by dividing the quantity of usable electrical energy by the distance to reach the arrival point then by multiplying the result obtained by a predetermined average distance.

[0024] The electronic control unit can be configured to manage the electrical consumption of the vehicle so that the vehicle respects the overall average consumption of electrical energy calculated to reach the arrival point.

[0025] According to one aspect of the method, step e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle may comprise dividing the journey to reach the arrival point into journey portions according to a parameter associated with the journey.

[0026] According to one aspect of the method, the parameter associated with the journey comprises a road type.

[0027] A road type is understood to mean the distinction between a motorway, a highway, a city road and a road outside a city.

[0028] In particular, each type of road has a range of maximum authorized speeds characteristic of the type of road. For example, in France, the maximum authorized speed on the motorway is between 110 km / h and 130 km / h.

[0029] Subsequently, any type of road other than highway and city road is called a "road".

[0030] Dividing the journey into portions according to the type of road makes it possible to best adapt the vehicle's electrical energy consumption to respect the overall average electrical energy consumption over the entire journey.

[0031] According to one aspect of the method, the journey has at least a first type of road and a second type of road different from the first type of road, and for which an average consumption of electrical energy for the predetermined average distance is greater than an average consumption of electrical energy for the predetermined average distance for the first type of road,

[0032] the method comprising, for a first portion of journey of the first type of road:

[0033] determining a first average consumption of electrical energy on said first portion of journey from the accessible data,

[0034] determining a first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey by dividing the first average electrical energy consumption obtained by the predetermined average distance and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance of said first portion of the journey,

[0035] and the management of electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption relating to said first portion of the journey on said portion of the journey,

[0036] and for a second portion of the journey of the second type of road, the method further comprising,

[0037] determining a second usable amount of electrical energy relating to said second portion of path by subtracting the first usable amount of electrical energy relating to said first portion of path from the usable amount of electrical energy for the path,

[0038] determining a second average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey, by dividing the second quantity of usable electrical energy by a second distance of said second portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance,

[0039] determining a corrected average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption of electrical energy and the second average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey,

[0040] and the management of electrical consumption to respect the corrected average consumption relating to said second portion of the journey on said second portion of the journey.

[0041] The average consumption of the vehicle can therefore be adapted over portions of the journey on different types of road. In particular, for a journey comprising a portion on the road and a portion on the motorway, the electrical energy consumption of the vehicle will be managed to respect the overall average consumption over the entire journey, while being managed differently over each portion of the journey. In particular, the electrical power of the vehicle can be reduced over the motorway portion so as not to exceed the average consumption determined for this portion.

[0042] According to another aspect of the method, the journey has at least a first, a second and a third different type of road, an average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance for the third type of road being greater than an average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance for the second type of road, and the average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance for the second type of road being greater than an average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance for the first type of road, wherein for a first journey portion of the first type of road and a second journey portion of the second type of road, the method comprises, determining a first average consumption of electrical energy on said first portion of the journey and said second portion of the journey from the accessible data, determining a first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey and to said second portion of the journey by dividing the first average consumption of electrical energy by the predetermined average distance and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance of said first and said second portions of the journey, and the management of electricity consumption to respect the first average consumption relating to said first and second journey portions on said journey portions, and for a third portion of the route of the third type of road, the method further comprising, determining a third usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey by subtracting the first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey and to said second portion of the journey from the usable quantity of electrical energy for the journey, determining a third average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey, by dividing the third usable quantity of electrical energy by a third distance of said third portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance, and determining a corrected average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption of electrical energy and the third average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey, and the management of electricity consumption to respect the corrected average consumption relating to said third portion of the journey on said third portion of the journey.

[0043] This makes it possible to pool different portions of the journey and facilitate consumption management. For example, in the case of a journey comprising city road, road and motorway, the city and road portions can be considered as a whole. In other words, the determination of a corrected average consumption of electrical energy only applies to the motorway portion.

[0044] According to one aspect of the method, steps b) of determining a quantity of usable electrical energy as a function of the state of charge of the battery,

[0045] c) determining a distance to be covered to reach the arrival point,

[0046] d) calculating an overall average consumption of electrical energy of the vehicle And

[0047] e) management of the vehicle's electrical consumption are repeated during the journey.

[0048] An iteration of the steps makes it possible to adapt at any time the battery energy consumption management strategy in the event of high consumption or, on the contrary, more reasonable consumption, always with the objective of reaching the arrival point. Consumption may be higher if comfort equipment is in operation, for example. On the contrary, in the event of more reasonable consumption, the overall average consumption not to be exceeded may be revised upwards.

[0049] According to one aspect of the method, the vehicle comprises at least one piece of comfort equipment powered by the electrical energy storage battery, each piece of comfort equipment comprising an on state of variable intensity and an off state, the method comprising, in step e), detecting the state of the or each piece of comfort equipment, and if at least one piece of comfort equipment is in the on state, its intensity is reduced or it is switched to the off state.

[0050] Comfort equipment is, for example, a means of air conditioning the passenger compartment of the vehicle, a means of video display and / or sound diffusion, a means of lighting the passenger compartment, a means of heating the seats, a means of connecting an electrical device or any other technically conceivable comfort equipment.

[0051] According to one aspect of the method, in step e), the driving power of the vehicle is limited.

[0052] In particular, the speed of the vehicle will be limited to reduce the driving power. For example, on a section of motorway with a maximum authorized speed of 130 km / h, the vehicle will be limited to a speed of 110 km / h. Electric energy consumption is thus reduced on this section compared to an average vehicle speed of 130 km / h.

[0053] If the vehicle's driving power is limited and comfort equipment is in operation, the user can deactivate one or more comfort equipment in order to reduce the consumption of electrical energy and to restrict or even cancel the limitation of the vehicle's electrical power.

[0054] Advantageously, step e) of managing the electrical energy consumption of the vehicle to reach the arrival point according to the quantity of usable electrical energy may comprise a sub-step of confirmation by a user by means of a human-machine interface.

[0055] Thus, the user has the choice whether to save the electrical energy stored in the battery or, on the contrary, not to take it into account.

[0056] More preferably, if during the confirmation sub-step a user has confirmed, the instruction remains valid as long as the user has not provided contrary instructions, for example by means of the human-machine interface.

[0057] The human-machine interface comprises, for example, a touch-sensitive display screen and / or one associated with control buttons, and / or a voice command.

[0058] According to one aspect of the method, in step e) of managing electrical consumption, an electrical energy consumption of the vehicle greater than a predetermined threshold is tolerated for a predetermined duration.

[0059] The threshold is for example 20% higher than the overall average consumption value or the average consumption value determined for the portion of the journey concerned over a duration of one minute.

[0060] This allows a driver to make motive power calls despite an implemented motive power limitation.

[0061] The present disclosure also relates to an electronic control unit configured to implement the steps b) of determining a quantity of usable electrical energy as a function of the state of charge of the battery, c) of calculating a distance to be traveled in order to reach an end point of the journey, d) of calculating an overall average consumption of electrical energy of the vehicle to be respected in order to reach the end point by dividing the quantity of usable electrical energy by the distance to reach the end point and then multiplying the result obtained by a predetermined average distance, and e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle so that the vehicle respects the overall average consumption of electrical energy calculated to reach the end point, of the method.

[0062] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of determining the division of the route to reach the arrival point into route portions according to a parameter associated with the route.

[0063] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of controlling step e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle so that the vehicle complies with the calculated overall average electrical energy consumption.

[0064] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of controlling the repetition of steps b) of determining a quantity of usable electrical energy as a function of the state of charge of the battery, c) of determining a distance to be covered to reach the arrival point, d) of calculating an overall average consumption of electrical energy of the vehicle and e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle.

[0065] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of tolerating an electrical energy consumption of the vehicle greater than a predetermined threshold for a predetermined duration.

[0066] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of:

[0067] for a first portion of the journey of the first type of road, determine a first average consumption of electrical energy to be respected on said first portion of the journey from the accessible data,

[0068] determining a first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey by dividing the first average electrical energy consumption obtained by the predetermined average distance and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance of said first portion of the journey,

[0069] control the management of electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption relating to said first portion of the journey on said portion of the journey,

[0070] and for a second portion of the journey of the second type of road,

[0071] determining a second usable amount of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the path by subtracting the first usable amount of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the path from the usable amount of electrical energy for the path,

[0072] determining a second average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey, by dividing the second quantity of usable electrical energy by a second distance of said second portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance,

[0073] determining a corrected average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption of electrical energy and the second average consumption of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey,

[0074] and control the management of electrical consumption to respect the corrected average consumption relating to said second portion of the journey on said second portion of the journey.

[0075] In particular, the electronic control unit is capable of determining a first average consumption of electrical energy over a first portion of the journey and a second portion of the journey from the accessible data,

[0076] determining a first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey and to said second portion of the journey by dividing the first average consumption of electrical energy by the predetermined average distance and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance of said first and said second portions of the journey,

[0077] controlling the management of electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption relating to said first and second journey portions on said journey portions,

[0078] determining a third usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said third portion of path by subtracting the first usable quantity of electrical energy relating to said first portion of path and to said second portion of the journey to the quantity of electrical energy usable for the journey,

[0079] determining a third average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey, by dividing the third quantity of usable electrical energy by a third distance of said third portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance,

[0080] determining a corrected average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption of electrical energy and the third average consumption of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey,

[0081] and control the management of electricity consumption to respect the corrected average consumption relating to said third portion of the journey on said third portion of the journey.

[0082] The electronic control unit is capable of communicating with the human-machine interface to transmit the data received from the battery sensors and the data processed by the electronic control unit.

[0083] The human-machine interface is configured to receive and transmit data to the electronic control unit, and to receive and transmit data to a user.

[0084] For example, the data that the human-machine interface can receive from the electronic control unit are associated with the state of charge of the battery, the quantity of usable electrical energy depending on the state of charge of the battery, the overall average consumption to be respected in order to reach an end point of the journey, a modification of the state of the comfort equipment or a limitation of engine power to request confirmation from the user.

[0085] For example, the data that the human-machine interface can receive from the user are the arrival point of the journey, the confirmation or not of the modification of the state of the comfort equipment and the confirmation or not of the limitation of engine power.

[0094] In order to facilitate the reading of the figures, the different elements are not necessarily represented to scale. In these figures, identical elements bear the same references. Certain elements or parameters may be indexed, that is to say designated for example by first element or second element, or first parameter and second parameter, etc. This indexing is intended to differentiate similar, but not identical, elements or parameters. This indexing does not imply a priority of one element, or parameter in relation to another. It is thus possible to interchange the names 'first', 'second', 'third', etc. Similarly, the terms primary / secondary are used for indexing and do not imply a priority of one element in relation to another.

[0095] [Fig.l] shows an electrically powered vehicle 1.

[0096] The terms “electrically powered vehicle” should not be understood as limiting and the vehicle may be a front-wheel drive electric vehicle.

[0097] The electrically powered vehicle 1 is, for example, a motor vehicle.

[0098] The vehicle 1 comprises a battery 12 for storing electrical energy and an electronic control unit 10.

[0099] The battery 12 can supply electrical energy to an electric motor 20 for propelling the vehicle 1.

[0100] A state of health of the battery 12, or SOH, is defined, which represents the maximum storage capacity of the battery at a given time and is evaluated as a percentage of a maximum storage capacity of the battery in the new state.

[0101] A state of charge of the battery 12, or SOC, is defined, which depends on the state of health of the battery 12. The state of charge represents the quantity of energy stored in the battery at a given time. The state of charge is evaluated as a percentage of the battery's maximum storage capacity at the given time.

[0102] The state of charge or SOC of the battery 12 can be determined using battery sensors 14.

[0103] The vehicle 1 advantageously further comprises at least one comfort equipment item 30.

[0104] Comfort equipment is, for example, a means of air conditioning the passenger compartment of the vehicle, a means of video display and / or sound diffusion, a means of lighting the passenger compartment, a means of heating the seats, a means of connecting an electrical device or any other technically conceivable comfort equipment.

[0105] The electronic control unit 10 comprises a processor and is configured to receive data and to process this data as will be detailed later. The electronic control unit 10 advantageously comprises a memory for storing the received and processed data.

[0106] The electronic control unit 10 is able to communicate with the battery sensors 14 to receive data associated with the state of charge SOC of the battery 12.

[0107] The electronic control unit 10 can receive user data associated with a journey planning.

[0108] The user data associated with a journey planning are for example obtained by means of a vehicle guidance system 18 and a human-machine interface 16 or by means of a user terminal connected to the vehicle such as a mobile phone or a touch-screen tablet.

[0109] The human-machine interface 16 comprises, for example, a touch-sensitive display screen and / or one associated with control buttons, and / or a voice command.

[0110] The electronic control unit 10 is configured to determine a quantity of usable electrical energy Eu as a function of the state of charge of the battery 12.

[0111] The quantity of usable electrical energy Eu can be determined from the state of charge of the battery 12 by providing a state of charge reserve so that the electrical energy remaining in the battery 12 at the arrival point B is non-zero.

[0112] For example, the state of charge reserve is 10%. The amount of usable electrical energy (Eu) is then determined by multiplying the amount of electrical energy contained in the battery (12) by 0.9 (i.e. (100 - 10) / 100).

[0113] The electronic control unit 10 is configured to calculate a distance Dtot to be covered in order to reach an arrival point B of the journey.

[0114] The arrival point B is in particular a vehicle charging station. By “charging station” is meant a station with one or more terminals of charging, or an electrical outlet supporting the charging of an electrically powered vehicle, such as at the vehicle owner's home.

[0115] Preferably, the method comprises accessing position data of electric vehicle charging stations.

[0116] The position data of electric vehicle charging stations are for example obtained by means of a vehicle guidance system and the human-machine interface or by means of a user terminal connected to the vehicle such as a mobile phone or a touch-screen tablet.

[0117] The electronic control unit 10 is configured to calculate an overall average electrical energy consumption Cmoy of the vehicle 1 to be respected to reach the arrival point B by dividing the quantity of electrical energy Eu usable by the distance Dtot to reach the arrival point B then by multiplying the result obtained by a predetermined average distance Di.

[0118] The electronic control unit 10 is configured to control the management of the electrical consumption of the vehicle 1 so that the vehicle 1 respects the overall average consumption of electrical energy Cmoy calculated to reach the arrival point B of the process.

[0119] In particular, the electronic control unit 10 is capable of determining the division of the route to reach the arrival point B into route portions according to a parameter associated with the route.

[0120] The parameter associated with the journey includes, for example, a road type.

[0121] In particular, each type of road has a range of maximum speeds at authorized Vmax characteristic of the type of road. For example, in France, the maximum authorized speed on the motorway is between 110 km / h and 130 km / h.

[0122] In particular, the electronic control unit 10 is capable of controlling the repetition of steps b) of determining a quantity of electrical energy Eu that can be used as a function of the state of charge of the battery 12, c) of determining a distance Dtot to be covered to reach the arrival point B, d) of calculating an overall average consumption of electrical energy Cmoy of the vehicle 1 and e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle.

[0123] Considering a journey having at least a first type of road and a second type of road different from the first type of road and for which an average consumption of electrical energy for the predetermined average distance Di is greater than an average consumption of electrical energy for the predetermined average distance Di for the first type of road, the electronic control unit 10 is in particular capable of:

[0124] for a first portion of the journey of the first type of road, determine a first average consumption of electrical energy Cr to be respected on said first portion of the journey from accessible data,

[0125] determining a first quantity of usable energy Er of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey by dividing the first average consumption of electrical energy Cr obtained by the predetermined average distance Di then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance Dr of said first portion of the journey,

[0126] control the management of electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption Cr relating to said first portion of the journey on said portion of the journey,

[0127] and for a second portion of the journey of the second type of road,

[0128] determining a second usable quantity of electrical energy Ea relating to said second portion of path by subtracting the first usable quantity of electrical energy Ea relating to said first portion of path from the usable quantity of electrical energy Eu for the path,

[0129] determining a second average electrical energy consumption Ca relating to said second portion of the journey, by dividing the second quantity of usable electrical energy by a second distance Da of said second portion of the journey then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance Di,

[0130] determine a corrected average consumption of electrical energy Ca' relating to said second portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption of electrical energy Cmoy and the second average consumption of electrical energy Ca relating to said second portion of the journey,

[0131] and control the management of electrical consumption to respect the corrected average consumption Cmoy relating to said second portion of the journey on said second portion of the journey.

[0132] Considering a journey having at least a first, a second and a third different type of road, an average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the third type of road being greater than an average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the second type of road, and the average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the second type of road being greater than an average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the first type of road, the electronic control unit is in particular capable of:

[0133] determine a first average electrical energy consumption Cr over a first portion of the journey and a second portion of the journey from the accessible data,

[0134] determine a first usable quantity of electrical energy Er relative to said first portion of the journey and to said second portion of the journey by dividing the first average electrical energy consumption by the predetermined average distance Di and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance Dr of said first and said second portions of the journey,

[0135] control the management of electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption Cr relating to said first portion of the journey on said first portion of the journey,

[0136] determining a third usable quantity of electrical energy Ea relating to said third portion of path by subtracting the first usable quantity of electrical energy Er relating to said first portion of path and to said second portion of path from the quantity of usable electrical energy Eu for the path,

[0137] determining a third average electrical energy consumption Ca relating to said third portion of the journey, by dividing the third quantity of usable electrical energy Ea by a third distance Da of said third portion of the journey then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance Di,

[0138] determine a corrected average consumption of electrical energy Ca' relating to said third portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption Cmoy of electrical energy and the third average consumption of electrical energy Ca relating to said third portion of the journey,

[0139] and control the management of electrical consumption to respect the corrected average consumption Ca' relating to said third portion of the journey on said third portion of the journey.

[0140] In particular, the electronic control unit 10 is capable of tolerating an electrical energy consumption of the vehicle greater than a predetermined threshold for a predetermined duration.

[0141] The electronic control unit 10 is capable of communicating with the human-machine interface 16 to transmit the data received from the battery sensors 14 and the data processed by the electronic control unit 10.

[0142] The human-machine interface 16 is configured to receive and transmit data to the electronic control unit 10, and to receive and transmit data to a user.

[0143] For example, the data that the human-machine interface 16 can receive from the electronic control unit are associated with the state of charge of the battery 12, with the quantity of electrical energy Eu usable as a function of the state of charge of the battery 12, with the overall average consumption Cmoy to be respected in order to reach an arrival point B of the journey, with a modification of the state of the comfort equipment 30 or with a limitation of motor power to request confirmation from the user.

[0144] For example, the data that the human-machine interface 16 can receive from the user are the arrival point B of the journey, the confirmation or not of the modification of the state of the comfort equipment 30 and the confirmation or not of the limitation of engine power.

[0145] The present disclosure also relates to a computer program comprising instructions which cause the vehicle 1 to implement the method as described above. Said computer program is stored in the memory of the electronic control unit 10.

[0146] A method for managing the consumption of electrical energy for an electrically powered vehicle 1, the vehicle 1 comprising a battery 12 for storing electrical energy and an electronic control unit 10 will now be described.

[0147] The method comprises:

[0148] a) access to user data associated with a journey planning, access to data associated with a state of charge of the battery 12,

[0149] b) determining a quantity of usable electrical energy Eu as a function of the state of charge of the battery 12,

[0150] c) determining a distance Dtot to be covered in order to reach an arrival point B of the journey,

[0151] d) the calculation of an overall average consumption of electrical energy Cmoy of the vehicle 1 to be respected to reach the arrival point B by dividing the quantity of electrical energy Eu usable by the distance Dtot to reach the arrival point B then by multiplying the result obtained by a predetermined average distance Di, and

[0152] e) managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle 1 so that the vehicle 1 respects the overall average electrical energy consumption Cmoy calculated to reach the arrival point B.

[0153] By imposing on the vehicle an average consumption of electrical energy not to be exceeded in order to reach the arrival point of the journey, the energy consumption is reduced, which makes it possible to increase the chances of reaching the arrival point without suffering a breakdown, and this in a simple manner without requiring a complex on-board computing device.

[0154] According to one aspect of the method, step e) of managing the electrical consumption of the vehicle 1 may comprise dividing the journey to reach the arrival point B into journey portions according to a parameter associated with the journey.

[0155] According to one aspect of the method, the parameter associated with the journey comprises a road type.

[0156] Dividing the journey into portions according to the type of road makes it possible to best adapt the vehicle's electrical energy consumption to respect the overall average electrical energy consumption over the entire journey.

[0157] According to one aspect of the method, the route has at least a first type of road and a second type of road different from the first type of road, and for which a average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance Di is greater than an average electrical energy consumption for the predetermined average distance Di for the first type of road,

[0158] the method comprising, for a first portion of journey of the first type of road:

[0159] determining a first average consumption Cr of electrical energy on said first portion of journey from the accessible data,

[0160] determining a first quantity of usable energy Er of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey by dividing the first average consumption Cr of electrical energy obtained by the predetermined average distance Di and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance Dr of said first portion of the journey,

[0161] and the management of the electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption Cr relating to said first portion of journey on said portion of journey,

[0162] and for a second portion of journey of the second type of road, the method further comprising,

[0163] determining a second quantity of usable energy Ea of electrical energy relating to said second portion of path by subtracting the first quantity of usable energy Er of electrical energy relating to said first portion of path from the quantity of electrical energy Eu usable for the path,

[0164] determining a second average consumption Ca of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey, by dividing the second quantity of usable electrical energy Ea by a second distance Da of said second portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance Di,

[0165] determining a corrected average consumption Ca' of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption Cmoy of electrical energy and the second average consumption Ca of electrical energy relating to said second portion of the journey,

[0166] and the management of electrical consumption to respect the average consumption Ca' corrected relating to said second portion of the journey on said second portion of the journey.

[0167] The average consumption of the vehicle 1 can therefore be adapted over portions of the journey on different types of road. In particular, for a journey comprising a portion on the road and a portion on the motorway, the electrical energy consumption of the vehicle 1 will be managed to respect the overall average consumption Cmoy over the entire journey, while being managed differently over each portion of the journey. In particular, the electrical power of the vehicle can be reduced over the motorway portion so as not to exceed the average consumption determined for this portion.

[0168] The relationship between the vehicle's electrical power and electrical energy is as follows: electrical energy is equal to electrical power multiplied by duration. Electrical energy is notably expressed in kWh kilowatt-hours, electrical power in kW kilowatts and duration in hours.

[0169] According to an exemplary embodiment, a journey of 150 km Dtot is considered to reach the arrival point B, with 110 km Da of motorway and 40 km Dr of road. The quantity of electrical energy stored in the battery 12 at time t is 37 kWh. The quantity of usable electrical energy Eu at time t, taking into account a state of charge SOC of the battery 12 of 10% on arrival, is 37x0.9 = 33.3 kWh.

[0170] The overall average consumption Cmoy for a predetermined average distance Di of 100 km is calculated as follows:

[0171] Cmoy = (Eu / Dtot) * Di= (33.3 / 150) *100 = 22.2 kW / h

[0172] This means that the overall average consumption not to be exceeded to reach the arrival point B is 22.2 kW / h per 100 km.

[0173] The vehicle 1, in particular the electronic control unit 10, is configured to estimate the average consumption Cr expected on the section of road from the journey data. For example, 15 kWh for 100 km.

[0174] The electrical energy Er which will be consumed on this portion will therefore be calculated as follows:

[0175] Er = Cr / Di*Dr = 15 / 100 *40 = 6 kWh

[0176] The remaining electrical energy Ea that can be consumed on the 110 km section of motorway will therefore be calculated as follows:

[0177] Ea = Eu - Er = 33.3 - 6 = 27.3 kWh

[0178] The average consumption Ca relating to the motorway section is:

[0179] Ca = Ea / Da*Di = 27.3 / 110*100=24.8 kWh

[0180] The average consumption Ca relating to the section of motorway is higher than the overall average consumption Cmoy, therefore the corrected average consumption Ca' not to be exceeded on the section of motorway is the average consumption Ca relating to the section of motorway calculated previously.

[0181] If the average consumption Ca relating to the section of motorway was less than or equal to, then the corrected average consumption Ca' not to be exceeded on the section of motorway would be the overall average consumption Cmoy.

[0182] This example also applies to a journey comprising a portion of city road and a portion of road, or a portion of city and a portion of highway.

[0183] According to another aspect of the method, the journey has at least a first, a second and a third different type of road, an average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the third type of road being greater than an average consumption of electrical energy for the average distance Di predetermined for the second type of road, and the average electrical energy consumption for the average distance Di predetermined for the second type of road being greater than an average electrical energy consumption for the average distance Di predetermined for the first type of road, wherein for a first portion of the journey of the first type of road and a second portion of the journey of the second type of road, the method comprises, determining a first average electrical energy consumption Cr on said first portion of the journey and said second portion of the journey from the accessible data, determining a first quantity of usable energy Er of electrical energy relating to said first portion of journey and to said second portion of journey by dividing the first average consumption Cr of electrical energy by the predetermined average distance Di and then multiplying the result obtained by a first distance Dr of said first and said second portions of journey, and managing the electrical consumption to respect the first average consumption Cr relating to said first portion of journey on said portion of journey, and for a third portion of journey of the third type of road, the method further comprising, determining a third usable quantity of energy Ea of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey by subtracting the first usable quantity of energy Er of electrical energy relating to said first portion of the journey and to said second portion of the journey from the quantity of electrical energy Eu usable for the journey, determining a third average consumption Ca of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey, by dividing the third quantity of usable electrical energy Ea by a third distance Da of said third portion of the journey and then multiplying the result obtained by the predetermined average distance Di, and determining a corrected average consumption Ca' of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey equal to the maximum of the overall average consumption Cmoy of electrical energy and the third average consumption Ca of electrical energy relating to said third portion of the journey, and managing the electrical consumption to respect the corrected average consumption Ca' relating to said third portion of the journey on said third portion of the journey.

[0184] This makes it possible to share different portions of the journey and facilitate consumption management. For example, in the case of a journey including city road, road and motorway, the city and road portions can be considered as a whole. In other words, the determination of an average corrected electrical energy consumption Ca' only applies to the motorway section.

[0185] According to one aspect of the method, steps b) of determining a quantity of usable electrical energy Eu as a function of the state of charge of the battery 12,

[0186] c) determining a distance Dtot to be covered to reach the arrival point B,

[0187] d) calculating an overall average electrical energy consumption Cmoy of vehicle 1 and

[0188] e) management of the vehicle's electrical consumption are repeated during the journey.

[0189] An iteration of the steps makes it possible to adapt at any time the strategy for managing the battery energy consumption in the event of high consumption or, on the contrary, more reasonable consumption, always with the objective of reaching the arrival point B. The consumption may be higher if comfort equipment 30 is in operation, for example. On the contrary, in the event of more reasonable consumption, the overall average consumption Cmoy not to be exceeded may be revised upwards.

[0190] According to one aspect of the method, the vehicle 1 comprises at least one piece of comfort equipment 30 powered by the electrical energy storage battery 12, each piece of comfort equipment 30 comprising an on state of variable intensity and an off state, the method comprising, in step e), the detection of the state of the or each piece of comfort equipment 30, and if at least one piece of comfort equipment 30 is in the on state, its intensity is reduced or it is switched to the off state.

[0191] According to one aspect of the method, in step e), the driving power Pm of the vehicle is limited.

[0192] Thus, for example, the maximum speed of the vehicle on the motorway is limited to 110 km / h instead of 130 km / h.

[0193] According to a variant, if the driving power of the vehicle is limited and comfort equipment is in operation, the user can deactivate one or more comfort equipment 30 in order to reduce the consumption of electrical energy and to restrict or even cancel the limitation of the electrical power of the vehicle.

[0194] According to an example shown in [Fig.3], the journey is divided into three portions of road, motorway and city respectively, having different distances Dl, D2, D3 and different maximum authorized speeds Vmaxl, Vmax2 and Vmax3, with Vmax2>Vmaxl>Vmax3. In this example, the overall average consumption is respected by limiting the electrical power on the three portions of the journey and the actual average speed Vr of the vehicle is close to the maximum authorized speed on each portion of the journey so that the consumption of electrical energy is high but still allows reaching the arrival point B.

[0195] According to an example shown in [Fig.4], the journey is divided into three portions of road, motorway and city respectively, having different distances D1, D2, D3 and different maximum authorized speeds Vmax1, Vmax2 and Vmax3, with Vmax2>Vmax1>Vmax3. In this example, the overall average consumption is respected by limiting the electrical power on the three portions of the journey so that the electrical energy consumption is reasonable. The limitation of electrical power of the vehicle 1 is then lifted on the third portion of the journey of distance D3 and maximum authorized speed Vmax3 while allowing the arrival point B to be reached.

[0196] Advantageously, the step of managing the electrical energy consumption of the vehicle 1 to reach the arrival point B according to the quantity of usable electrical energy Eu can comprise a sub-step of confirmation by a user by means of a human-machine interface 16.

[0197] Thus, the user has the choice whether to save the electrical energy stored in the battery or, on the contrary, not to take it into account.

[0198] Preferably again, if during the confirmation sub-step a user has confirmed, the instruction remains valid as long as the user has not provided contrary instructions, for example by means of the human-machine interface 16.

[0199] According to one aspect of the method, in step e) of managing electrical consumption, an electrical energy consumption of the vehicle greater than a predetermined threshold is tolerated for a predetermined duration.

[0200] The threshold is for example 20% higher than the overall average consumption value or the average consumption value determined for the portion of the journey concerned over a period of one minute.

[0201] This allows a driver to make motive power calls despite an implemented motive power limitation.

[0202] For example, if the driver is on a motorway with a maximum authorized speed of 130 km / h, and the consumption management method imposes a maximum speed of 110 km / h on the vehicle, if the driver wishes to overtake at a speed greater than 110 km / h, the driving power Pm requested by the vehicle can increase the consumption of the vehicle 1 beyond the threshold S. The driver can then overtake safely and temporarily increase the electrical energy consumption of the vehicle.
