Abstract

The invention relates to a chimney cover (1) comprising a base (2), a fastening means (3) dependent on the base (2) for removably attaching the chimney cover (1) to the cooking appliance (10), and a frame (4) projecting from the base (2) to at least partially surround the chimney (11). The base (2) includes an opening (20) for receiving a chimney (11) of a cooking appliance (10), and the fastening means (3) surrounds the opening (20). The frame (4) includes a discontinuity (41) to provide ventilation for the chimney (11). Figure 1

[0039] Referring now to the figures, a chimney cover 1 for a cooking appliance 10 can be seen. The chimney cover 1 comprises a base 2 with an opening 20, a fixing means 3 dependent on the base 2 and surrounding the opening 20 and a frame 4 projecting from the base 2 and surrounding the opening 20.

[0040] The base 2 is square in shape and includes a circular groove 5 on its lower surface 21, which surrounds the fixing means 3. The groove 5 is intended to receive an O-ring (not shown) to ensure sealing between the chimney cover 1 and the cooking appliance 10.

[0041] The base 2 also comprises an internal circular wall 6 projecting from its upper surface 22, which surrounds the fixing means 3. Claims

Claims

1. A chimney cover (1) comprising: a base (2) with an opening (20) for receiving a chimney (11) of a cooking appliance (10); securing means (3) dependent on the base (2) and surrounding the opening (20) for releasably securing the chimney cover (1) to the cooking appliance (10); and a frame (4) projecting from the base (2) for at least partially surrounding the chimney (11); wherein the frame (4) comprises a discontinuity (41) for providing ventilation of the chimney (11).

2. A chimney cover according to claim 1, wherein the frame (4) comprises a peripheral wall (40) having the discontinuity (41).

3. A fireplace cover according to claim 2, wherein the peripheral wall (40) comprises an inclined upper edge (42) to prevent the placement of an object on the frame (4).

4. A chimney cover according to claim 2 or claim 3, wherein the discontinuity (41) comprises openings (41a, 41b, 41c, 41d) in the peripheral wall (40).

5. Chimney cover according to any one of claims 2 to 4, in which the peripheral wall (40) comprises a slot (43) for the evacuation of water.

6. A chimney cover according to any preceding claim comprising a groove (5) surrounding the fixing means (3) for receiving an O-ring to provide a seal between the chimney cover (1) and the cooking appliance (10).

7. A chimney cover according to any preceding claim, wherein the fixing means (3) comprises a bayonet connector (30).

8. A fireplace cover according to claim 7, wherein the bayonet connector (30) comprises a plurality of spaced legs (31) depending from the frame.

9. A chimney cover according to any preceding claim, wherein the fixing means (3) comprises a key (32) to ensure correct installation on the cooking appliance (10).

10. A chimney cover according to claim 9, wherein the key (32) comprises a spring arm (33) with a projection (34) at its end or near it for releasably engaging in a cavity or hole of the cooking appliance (10).

11. A chimney cover according to any preceding claim, wherein the opening (20) has a diameter configured to accommodate chimneys (11) of different sizes to enable the chimney cover (1) to be used with different types of chimneys (11).

12. Cooking appliance (10) comprising a chimney (11) and a chimney cover (1) according to any one of the preceding claims.
