Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Dashboard and motor vehicle comprising such a dashboard
[0001] The present invention generally relates to a vehicle dashboard in which air ducts are integrated.
[0002] Such a dashboard may comprise a rigid structure and air ducts made up of tubes. The tubes are inserted inside the rigid structure.
[0003] Such a dashboard has a relatively complex structure, and is expensive to manufacture.
[0004] In this context, the invention aims to provide a dashboard with a simpler structure, less expensive to manufacture.
[0005] To this end, the invention relates to a dashboard comprising:
[0006] - a load-bearing structure having a first large face and a second large face opposite to the first large face;
[0007] - a first deformable structure, delimiting at least a first conduit having one open side, the first deformable structure being fixed to the supporting structure, the open side of the or each first conduit being closed by the first large face of the supporting structure;
[0008] - a second deformable structure, delimiting at least one second conduit having a open side, the second deformable structure being fixed to the supporting structure, the open side of the or each second conduit being closed by the second large face of the supporting structure in which the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are only fixed to the supporting structure.
[0009] The first and second deformable structures are easy and inexpensive to manufacture, for example by injection molding of a plastic material. The first and second conduits are open at one end, so that they can be easily obtained during the manufacture of the first and second deformable structures.
[0010] The first and second conduits are closed by the first and second large faces of the supporting structure, which can be achieved very practically when fixing the first and second deformable structures to the supporting structure.
[0011] It is therefore not necessary to insert a tubular structure inside the load-bearing structure, which is a rather long and complex operation.
[0012] Overall, the manufacture of the dashboard is facilitated, and the cost of this dashboard is reduced.
[0013] The dashboard may also have one or more of the following characteristics, considered individually or according to all technically sound combinations possible:
[0014] - the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are made of a plastic material with a thickness of less than 2 mm, for example PE or PP;
[0015] - the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are made of expanded plastic;
[0016] - the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are fixed to the load-bearing structure by welding, for example ultrasonic welding;
[0017] - the dashboard includes a trim cover covering the structure load-bearing, the first deformable structure and the second deformable structure, and defining a surface visible to the vehicle's passengers;
[0018] - at least one first conduit and at least one second conduit are in common fluidic niccation with each other and together form an air duct, one of at least a first duct and at least a second duct defining an upstream section of the air duct, the other of at least a first duct and at least a second duct defining a downstream section of the air duct;
[0019] - the supporting structure includes at least two air inlets, one of the air inlets being in fluidic communication with the first duct and another of the air inlets being in fluidic communication with the second duct;
[0020] - the portion of the first deformable structure defining at least one first conduit and / or the portion of the second deformable structure defining at least one second conduit have an essentially U-shaped cross-section.
[0021] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a passenger compartment, a windscreen and a dashboard having the above characteristics housed in the passenger compartment, at least a first duct belonging to a defrosting circuit and having orifices intended to blow air towards the windscreen, at least a second duct belonging to an air conditioning circuit of the passenger compartment and supplying air to the orifices arranged to blow air into the atmosphere of the passenger compartment.
[0022] The motor vehicle may also have the following characteristic:
[0023] - the air blowing outlets supplied by at least one second duct plug directly into a volume located at the rear of the dashboard.
[0024] Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the detailed description provided below, by way of example and without limitation, with reference to the accompanying figures, among which:
[0025] - [Fig. 1] Fig. 1 is a schematic longitudinal cross-sectional view of a vehicle incorporating a dashboard according to the invention;
[0026] - [Fig.2] Fig.2 is an exploded, perspective view of the dashboard of the [Fig. 1] ; and
[0027] - [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a perspective view of the dashboard of [Fig.2], in the state assembled.
[0028] The vehicle 1 shown in [Fig.1] includes a passenger compartment 3, a windscreen 5 and a dashboard 7 housed in the passenger compartment 3.
[0029] In the example shown, the motor vehicle is a car.
[0030] Alternatively, the motor vehicle is a truck, or a bus, or a utility vehicle, or a train, or any other motor vehicle.
[0031] In this description, the longitudinal direction corresponds to the normal direction of travel of the motor vehicle. The vertical direction is perpendicular to the vehicle's running plane, and the transverse direction is perpendicular to both the longitudinal and vertical directions.
[0032] Front and rear are understood to be in relation to the longitudinal direction. Top and bottom, above and below, are understood to be in relation to the vertical direction. Right and left are understood to be in relation to the transverse direction.
[0033] The windscreen 5 is the window delimiting the passenger compartment 3 towards the front.
[0034] The passenger compartment 3 is the interior space of the vehicle where the passengers are accommodated.
[0035] The dashboard 7 is arranged at the front of the passenger compartment 3, under the windscreen 5. It extends transversely from one side to the other of the passenger compartment 3.
[0036] As can be clearly seen in [Fig.2], the dashboard 7 comprises a load-bearing structure 9, a first deformable structure 11 and a second deformable structure 13.
[0037] The supporting structure 9 is a relatively rigid structure, giving its structural rigidity to the dashboard 7. The supporting structure 9 is a thin structure, of complex shape.
[0038] The supporting structure 9 is generally a thin shell, made of plastic material.
[0039] It is obtained by injection or thermoforming of the plastic material.
[0040] The supporting structure 9 has a significant thickness, between 1 and 10 millimeters, preferably between 1 and 5 millimeters, more preferably between 1.5 and 2.5 millimeters.
[0041] The plastic material is for example polypropylene (PP), or polyethylene (PE), or polycarbonate (PC) or even polystyrene (PS).
[0042] The plastic material is advantageously reinforced by fibers, for example with natural fibers (hemp, wood, ...) or glass.
[0043] According to one embodiment, the load-bearing structure 9 is made of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene, obtained by injection, and has a thickness of 2.5 millimeters.
[0044] Alternatively, the load-bearing structure 9 is made of a mixture of polyethylene and thermoformed polystyrene, and has a thickness of approximately 1.5 millimeters.
[0045] The supporting structure 9 has a first large face 15 and a second large face 17 opposite the first large face 15.
[0046] The first and second large faces 15, 17 are the two opposite faces of the shell constituting the load-bearing structure.
[0047] The first large face 15 faces upwards. It faces towards the windscreen 5.
[0048] The second large face 17 faces downwards. It faces the floor of the passenger compartment 3.
[0049] The first deformable structure 11 is fixed to the supporting structure 9. It is fixed only to the supporting structure 9, in the sense that it has no attachment to any element of the dashboard or the vehicle other than the supporting structure 9. Thus, all the forces applied to the first deformable structure 11 are taken up by the supporting structure 9.
[0050] The first deformable structure 11 is a deformable shell, composed of plastic material.
[0051] The first deformable structure 11 is obtained by thermoforming, expansion or injection of the plastic material.
[0052] The first deformable structure 11 is made of a deformable material.
[0053] This means that the first deformable structure 11 is made of a material that deforms without creating a crack or a break zone in the event of interference with another structure of the dashboard or the vehicle. Such interference generally occurs during the assembly of the various dashboard components, or during the installation of the dashboard in the vehicle. It may happen that during assembly or installation, the first deformable structure comes to rest, temporarily or permanently, against another structure, and is therefore deformed. This deformation does not cause irreparable damage to the first deformable structure 11, because it is made of a deformable material.
[0054] The first deformable structure 11 is for this purpose made of a plastic material with a thickness of less than 2 millimeters, for example between 0.1 and 1 millimeter, and even more preferably between 0.4 and 0.7 mm. It has, for example, a thickness of 0.5 millimeter.
[0055] The plastic material is PE, or PP, or a mixture of PE and PP.
[0056] It is advantageously made of a foam of one of these plastic materials. Alternatively, the plastic material is non-expanded, and is solid, for example made by plastic injection.
[0057] The first deformable structure 11 is of complex shape.
[0058] The first deformable structure 11 delimits at least a first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25 having an open side 27 ([Fig. 1]). The open side 27 of the or of Each first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25 is closed by the first large face 15 of the supporting structure 9.
[0059] In the example shown, the first deformable structure 11 delimits several first conduits referenced 19, 21, 23, 25 whose functions will be described below.
[0060] The first conduit or each conduit 19, 21, 23, 25 has a complex shape, generally not rectilinear.
[0061] The first conduit(s) 19, 21, 23, 25 has an elongated shape and extends along a central line C ([Fig.2]). This central line C extends along a three-dimensional path in the examples shown.
[0062] The open side 27 extends substantially along the entire length of the first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25, the length being taken along the central line C. The open side 27 is located laterally with respect to the central line C. In other words, the first conduit or each first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25 is open on a part of its periphery, this periphery being considered around the central line C.
[0063] The open side 27 covers, around the central line C, an angular sector generally between 30° and 180°, preferably between 45° and 135°, more preferably between 60° and 120°.
[0064] This open side 27 is sealed by the first large face 15.
[0065] To do this, the first deformable structure 11 is placed directly against the first large face 15 of the load-bearing structure 9.
[0066] It is fixed to the supporting structure 9 by welds, for example by ultrasonic welding and / or vibration welding.
[0067] These welds are, for example, mirror welds.
[0068] Mirror welding is a thermal welding technique for joining thermoplastics, using a tool capable of heating both sides simultaneously. The tool is inserted between the two structures to be welded together, here the load-bearing structure 9 and the first deformable structure 11. After the structures are heated, they are pressed together.
[0069] The first deformable structure 11 is thus fixed to the supporting structure 9, and more specifically to the first large face 15, by two weld lines 29 for each first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25. These weld lines 29 extend along and on either side of the open side 27. The weld lines 29 extend over the entire length of the first conduit or each first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25, the length being understood here as the extent of the first conduit along the central line C. The weld lines 29 meet at their ends to form a closed contour, or meet only at one of the two ends, or alternatively do not meet. Alternatively, the first deformable structure 11 is fixed to the supporting structure 9 by separate weld points and / or a portion thereof.
[0070] On [Fig.2], only the weld lines 29 of the first conduit 19 have been re presented.
[0071] The second deformable structure 13 is of the same type as the first deformable structure 11.
[0072] The second deformable structure 13 is a thin shell, made of plastic material.
[0073] The second deformable structure 13 is obtained by injection, expansion or thermoforming of the plastic material.
[0074] It has a complex shape.
[0075] The second deformable structure 13 is made of a deformable material.
[0076] For this purpose, the second deformable structure 13 is made of a plastic material with a thickness of less than 2 millimeters, preferably between 0.1 and 1 millimeter, more preferably between 0.4 and 0.7 mm. For example, it has a thickness of 0.5 millimeters.
[0077] The plastic material is PE, or PP, or a mixture of PE and PP.
[0078] It is advantageously made of a foam of one of these plastic materials. Alternatively, the plastic material is unexpanded, and is entirely made, for example, by plastic injection molding.
[0079] The second deformable structure 13 is fixed to the supporting structure 9. It is fixed solely to the supporting structure 9, in that it has no attachment points to any other component of the dashboard or the vehicle. All forces applied to the second deformable structure 13 are absorbed by the supporting structure 9.
[0080] The second deformable structure 13 delimits at least one second conduit 31, 33 having an open side 35. The open side 35 of the or of each first conduit 31, 33 is closed by the first large face 17 of the supporting structure 9.
[0081] In the example shown, the second deformable structure 13 delimits two second conduits 31, 33 whose functions will be described below.
[0082] As described previously, the or each second conduit 31, 33 has a complex shape, and has an elongated shape along a central line C'. This central line C' generally has a three-dimensional arrangement.
[0083] The open side 35 extends along the entire length of the conduit or each second conduit 31, 33, this length being taken along the central line C'. It extends laterally with respect to the central line C'. In other words, the conduit or each second conduit 31, 33 is open along a portion of its circumference, this circumference being taken around the central line C'.
[0084] As before, the open side 35 covers, around the central line C', an angular sector between 30° and 180°, preferably between 45° and 135°, and even more preferably between 60° and 120°.
[0085] The second deformable structure 13 is directly fixed to the supporting structure 9, and more precisely to the second large face 17.
[0086] It is generally fixed by welding to the supporting structure 9, for example by ultrasonic or vibration welding.
[0087] As before, these welds are generally mirror welds.
[0088] The open side 35 of the or of each second conduit 31, 33 is sealed by the second large face 17.
[0089] To this end, the second deformable structure 13 is fixed to the supporting structure 9 by weld lines 39 which extend on either side of the open side 35. The weld lines 39 extend over the entire length of the second conduit 31, 33, this length being taken along the central line C'. Alternatively, the second deformable structure 113 is fixed to the supporting structure 9 by separate weld points and / or a portion thereof.
[0090] The weld lines 39 join at both ends of the first or each second conduit 31, 33, thus forming a line with a closed contour. Alternatively, they join at only one end as shown in [Fig. 2], or they do not join.
[0091] Thus, the first deformable structure 11 is pressed against the first large face 15, and the second deformable structure 13 is pressed against the second large face 17. The first deformable structure 11 is thus located above the supporting structure 9, and the second deformable structure 13 is placed below the supporting structure 9.
[0092] The motor vehicle 1 includes an air conditioning device 4L This air conditioning device 41 includes an air conditioning unit 43, connected by an upstream duct 45 to an air inlet 47 opening out of the vehicle.
[0093] The air conditioning unit 43 is designed to control the temperature of the air blown by the conditioning device 41 inside the passenger compartment 3.
[0094] It includes at least one heater, designed to heat the air drawn in through the air inlet 47. It also generally includes a cooler, configured to cool the air drawn in through the air inlet 47.
[0095] At least one first duct 19, 21, 23, 25 and at least one second duct 31, 33 are integrated into the 4L air conditioning system
[0096] At least one first conduit belongs to a defrosting circuit 48, and includes orifices 49 intended to blow air towards the windshield windows 5 and / or door.
[0097] At least one second duct belongs to an air conditioning circuit 51 of the com- passenger compartment 3 and supplies air to the openings 53 arranged to blow air into the atmosphere of the passenger compartment. The openings 53 may be equipped with a vent for controlling the directionality of the airflow.
[0098] In the example shown, one of the first ducts, namely the first duct 19, is integrated into the defrosting circuit 48. The other first ducts, here the first ducts 21, 23 and 25, are integrated into the air conditioning circuit 51 of the passenger compartment. The second ducts 31, 33 are all integrated into the air conditioning circuit 51 of the passenger compartment.
[0099] The air conditioning circuit 51 of the passenger compartment has the sole function of regulating the air temperature inside the passenger compartment 3, and does not have the function of defrosting the vehicle windows, or any other additional technical function.
[0100] The air blower openings 53 supplied by the second duct 31, 33 open directly into a volume located at the rear of the dashboard. They open into the volume located between the dashboard 7 and the front seats of the vehicle.
[0101] The air conditioning circuit 51 of the passenger compartment also includes other air blower openings which will be described later.
[0102] The air conditioning unit 43 has a first air conditioning outlet 55, fluidly connected to the first conduit 19. This connection is not shown in the figures.
[0103] For this purpose, the supporting structure 9 includes two air inlets 57 fluidly connected to the first duct 19. The air inlets 57 are orifices cut into the supporting structure 9. They are fluidly connected to the first air-conditioned outlet 55. They open directly into the first duct 19.
[0104] The first conduit 19 extends transversely over most of the transverse width of the dashboard. It has a slightly arched central line C, running along the windscreen 5.
[0105] The air conditioning unit 43 further includes a second air conditioning outlet 59, fluidly connected to the air conditioning circuit 51 of the passenger compartment. The air outlet 59 may be equipped with a vent for controlling the directionality of the airflow.
[0106] For this purpose, the supporting structure 9 includes an air inlet 61 communicating fluidly with at least one second duct 31, 33.
[0107] The air inlet 61 is fluidly connected to the air conditioning outlet 59 by a duct not shown. It consists of an opening cut into the supporting structure 9.
[0108] The first duct 25 directly supplies air to the air blower openings 63 which open into the atmosphere of the passenger compartment. The openings 63 are located in the center of the dashboard, while the openings 53 are located transversely to the left and right of the dashboard.
[0109] The first conduit 25 fluidly connects the air inlet 61 to the air blowing ports 63.
[0110] In the example shown, the air inlet 61 does not open directly into the second ducts 31, 33.
[0111] As can be seen in [Fig.2], the second conduits 31, 33 are arranged transversely to the left and right of the dashboard.
[0112] The supporting structure 9 has passage openings 65, cut into this structure. The second conduit 31 connects one of the passage openings 65 to one of the blowing openings 53. The other second conduit 33 connects the other passage opening 65 to the other blowing opening 53.
[0113] In addition, the first conduits 21 and 23 are arranged so as to place the first conduit 25 in fluidic communication with the two orifices 65.
[0114] Thus, the first ducts 25 and 21 and the second duct 33 together define an air duct, the first ducts 21 and 25 defining an upstream section of the air duct and the second duct 33 defining a downstream section of the air duct.
[0115] Similarly, the first ducts 25 and 23 and the second duct 31 together define another ventilation duct. The first ducts 25 and 23 define an upstream section of the ventilation duct and the second duct 31 defines a downstream section of the ventilation duct.
[0116] It should be noted that the first deformable structure 11 contains portions other than those used to define the at least one first conduit 19, 21, 23, 25.
[0117] These portions are intended to be attached to the supporting structure 9, or for other technical functions which will not be described here.
[0118] Similarly, the second deformable structure 13 includes portions in addition to those defining at least one second conduit 31, 33. These portions are, for example, intended to fix the second deformable structure 13 to the supporting structure 9.
[0119] As can be seen in [Fig. 1], the dashboard includes a trim 67 covering the load-bearing structure 9, the first deformable structure 11 and the second deformable structure 13. This trim 67 defines a surface 69 visible to the vehicle's passengers.
[0120] The trim 67 is generally referred to as the dashboard cover. It conceals the functional parts of the dashboard, in particular the load-bearing structure 9, the first deformable structure 11 and the second deformable structure 13.
[0121] The dashboard and vehicle described above have multiple advantages.
[0122] Because the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are only fixed to the supporting structure, the installation of the dashboard in the vehicle is particularly simple.
[0123] Given that the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure Since the deformable components are made of a deformable material, it is possible to tolerate interference between the first and / or second deformable structure and other elements of the dashboard or vehicle. Firstly, this makes the dashboard more compact. There is no need to maintain a minimum distance between the first and / or second deformable structure and the surrounding structures. The risk of unwanted noise generated by vibrations propagating through the dashboard is also reduced.
[0124] When the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure are made of a plastic material with a thickness of less than 2 millimeters and / or of a plastic foam, it is possible to easily obtain deformable structures.
[0125] Attaching the first deformable structure and / or the second deformable structure to the supporting structure by welding is particularly practical. The dashboard design is especially well-suited to welding. It consists of several thin shells, joined to one another by weld lines that are particularly easy to produce. The risk of generating scrap during welding is reduced.
[0126] The fact that the dashboard has a trim covering the load-bearing structure, the first deformable structure and the second deformable structure and defining the surface visible to the vehicle's passengers makes it easy to improve the appearance of the dashboard.
[0127] When at least a first duct and at least a second duct are in fluidic communication with each other, and together form an air duct, with at least a first duct defining an upstream section of the air duct and at least a second duct defining a downstream section of the air duct, it is possible to obtain air ducts of complex shapes in the dashboard.
[0128] In addition, the supporting structure can include several air inlets, allowing the air circulation in the air ducts to be organized according to needs.
[0129] Where at least one first duct belongs to a defrosting circuit and has air vents towards the windshield, and at least one second duct belongs to a passenger compartment air conditioning circuit supplying air to vents that blow air into the passenger compartment atmosphere, it is possible to easily integrate both the defrosting and passenger compartment air conditioning circuits into the dashboard. These circuits can be made using three deformable structures. These circuits are made in a simple and robust manner.
[0130] The dashboard and the vehicle may have several variants.
[0131] The load-bearing structure, the first deformable structure, and the second deformable structure can have all sorts of shapes, different from the shapes shown on the figures.
[0132] The first deformable structure can delimit a single first conduit or alternatively two first conduits, three first conduits or more than three first conduits as in the example shown.
[0133] Similarly, the second deformable structure can delimit a single second conduit, or two second conduits, or more than two second conduits.
[0134] In the example above, it was described that the defrosting circuit comprises an air duct defined by a single first duct. Alternatively, the air duct of the defrosting circuit may comprise several first ducts, or one or more first ducts arranged in series with one or more second ducts, or even comprise one or more second ducts.
[0135] Similarly, it has been described above that the passenger compartment air conditioning circuit includes an air duct made of a single first duct, and two further air ducts made of a first duct and a second duct in series one behind the other.
[0136] Alternatively, the passenger compartment air conditioning circuit comprises fewer or more than three air ducts. Each air duct is defined solely by a first duct, or solely by a second duct, or even by one or more first ducts arranged in series with one or more second ducts.
[0137] The number of air inlet or air passage openings provided in the supporting structure may differ from that shown in the figures. It depends on the design of the air ducts.
