Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Device for improving hinged shutters, in a solar protection tunnel.
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for improving single or double leaf type exterior shutters, allowing the conversion of these shutters into a solar protection tunnel, favorable to the visual and light comfort of the occupants.
[0002] The traditional arrangements of hinged shutters, whether or not equipped with half-openers, provide sun protection to the detriment of the view and the supply of natural light.
[0003] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome this drawback. In fact, according to a first characteristic, it includes an additional flap hinged horizontally at the top of the main leaf. This additional flap, stored vertically when the shutter is in the open or closed position, is positioned horizontally when the main leaf is in an intermediate position perpendicular to the facade. In this position, the additional flap creates, with the main shutter leaf, a surround for the bay, constituting a solar protection tunnel, while preserving the direct view and the supply of natural light.
[0004] The performance of the system in terms of reduction of the solar factor of the bay or contribution of natural light can be evaluated by the tables of the thermal regulations in force or by a specific calculation.
[0005] The device can be made with any type of traditional construction material for hinged shutters such as: - The Wood - Aluminum, steel, PVC and composite sheets - Aluminum, steel, PVC and composite profiles
[0006] According to the particular embodiments: - The additional flap (1) can be positioned covering the main flap (2), [Fig.l] variant 1, or integrated into its thickness, [Fig.l] variants 2 and 3. - The additional flap can be handled and positioned horizontally by means of a rod (5) resting on the main flap (1). - The assembly consisting of the main leaf (2) and the additional flap (1) can lead to the production of a finished product. - In the case of a finished product, the assembly can be directly installed in the bay (3) or associated with an intermediate pre-frame (4). - The additional flap (1) can be an independent accessory mounted to cover the existing main flap (2) for installation during renovation. - The additional flap (1) can be equipped with a locking point (6) on the shutter support frame in the case of direct integration into the bay (3) or into an intermediate pre-frame (4). - The additional flap (1) can be directly coupled to its neighbor using fittings (7) in the case of double hinged shutters.
[0007] [Fig. 1] represents in axonometry, the kinematics of the hinged shutter (2) and its complementary flap (1) in the intermediate sun protection position between the open and closed position.
[0008] [Fig.2] shows in the intermediate sun protection position, three variants of this device, respectively from left to right: -Variant 1: Seat (1) and shutter (2) made in the traditional way and intended to form a finished product or for installation during renovation. - Variant 2: Seat (1) and shutter (2) made of ribbed sheet metal intended to form a finished product. - Variant 3: Flap (1) and shutter (2) made from wooden sections or profiles intended to form a finished product.
[0009] [Fig. 3] represents in axonometric view, the open, intermediate solar protection and closed positions, of a particular embodiment of the invention in the case of double hinged shutters made of ribbed sheet metal: The hinged shutter (2) and the flap (1) may be made of interlocking ribbed sheets, the additional flap (1) being integrated into the thickness of the shutter (2). The ribbed sheets of the main leaf (2) and its additional flap (1) may be reinforced by crosspieces. The upper crosspiece of the flap (1) can be hinged directly on the shutter (2) so as to facilitate the opening kinematics and the compactness of the assembly in the closed position. The lifting and support rod (5) of the additional flap (1) can rest on the crosspiece of the hinged shutter when the additional flap (1) is open. The assembly can be locked by fitting (6) of the secondary flap in the open position on a peripheral pre-frame (4).
[0010] [Fig.4] designates in axonometric view the notions of bay (3) and fittings (7) of the twin flaps in the case of double hinged shutters.
[0011] With reference to these figures 1 to 4, the device comprises: An additional horizontally hinged flap (1) on a main hinged shutter (2). The assembly is integrated directly into the bay of a wall (3) or by means of a peripheral pre-frame (4). The flap is put into position by by means of a rod (5) resting on the main leaf. The assembly is locked in the sun protection position by means of fittings between the flap and the shutter frame (6) or by fittings between the flaps (7)
[0012] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for improving ranges of new hinged shutters and for improving existing hinged shutters by adding them. The system is part of the search for improvements to existing buildings, as well as the design of new buildings subject to global warming.
