Title of the invention: Tool for mounting / dismounting a removable panel on a supporting structure Domain

[0001] The invention relates to a tool for mounting / dismounting a removable panel on a supporting structure, in particular an aesthetic panel in an aircraft cockpit.

[0002] As is known, an aircraft includes trim panels intended to dress the interior of the cabin or cockpit. These panels have a first aesthetic function so that passengers and pilots are seated in a pleasant environment. The second function of these panels is to protect the various systems that pass along the fuselage of the aircraft: these systems can be, for example, electric cables for transporting the electrical energy necessary for the proper functioning of the aircraft. They can also be pipes transporting a fluid such as water, air or hydraulic fluid. The trim panels therefore make it possible to isolate these systems necessary for the proper functioning of the aircraft from the cabin, the cabin crew, the passengers or the pilots.

[0008] An object of the present invention is to provide a tool for mounting / dismounting a removable panel comprising a visible face and an invisible face intended to be mounted on a supporting structure. The panel comprises, fixed on its face, at least three magnetic fixing means each being composed of a movable body comprising a hook and a magnetic component having a first face, each body being fixed on the panel so that it can pivot around an axis of rotation, said hook being able to be introduced, in the locked position, into an opening made in the supporting structure. The panel further comprises an electroluminescent marking, arranged at right angles to each magnetic fixing means.The tool is remarkable in that it comprises a structure having a face oriented towards the face of the removable panel and a face opposite the face and comprising at least three magnetic elements arranged along the face of said structure oriented towards the visible face of the removable panel. The tool further comprises at least three devices capable of emitting black light radiation in line with said at least three magnetic elements.

[0009] Thus, thanks to this tool, the exact location of the magnetic fixing means which are invisible once the panel is fixed to the supporting structure is referenced. This location is identifiable thanks to the devices emitting black light radiation. These black light emitting devices being arranged in line with the magnetic elements, the latter are affixed directly to each identified location of the magnetic fixing means of the removable panel. A magnetic connection is established between the magnetic fixing means of the removable panel and the magnetic elements of the tool, thus securing the tool to the panel and releasing the magnetic fixing means from the supporting structure. The operator then only has to remove the tool, which results in the dismantling of the panel from the supporting structure.

[0010] According to particular embodiments, the tool comprises other remarkable characteristics taken separately or in combination: - Each magnetic element has a face facing the face of the removable panel and having a magnetic pole opposite the magnetic pole of the face of said magnetic component of the magnetic fixing means of the removable panel to which the magnetic element faces. This makes it possible to create the magnetic connection between each magnetic element of the tool and each magnetic component of the magnetic fixing means of the panel facing him. - The tool comprises at least one adhesion means fixed on the internal face of the structure. This adhesion means has the advantage of securing the tool to the panel. Thus, once the tool is positioned on the panel, the operator activates the adhesion means so that it adheres to the removable panel. This allows the tool to be anchored to the panel. This device allows a good grip, by an operator, of the tool and the panel when it is released from the supporting structure. - The at least one gripping means is a handle. This handle makes it easier for the operator to grip and position the tool. - The structure has the shape of a cross with two branches crossing approximately in the middle, at an angle of approximately 90°. - The geometry and dimensions of the cross are such that the ends of each branch are shaped to be positioned in line with the location of the means of fixing the removable panel when the tool is placed on the panel for assembly or disassembly. - A magnetic element and a device capable of emitting black light radiation are fixed to each end of the branches of the cross. - The structure has the form of a rectangular frame composed of four ribs fixed together at their respective ends. - A magnetic element and a device capable of emitting black light radiation are fixed to each end of the rectangular frame.

The sleeping element 5 is fixed to the invisible face 2b of the removable panel 2 by any suitable adhesion devices. In [Fig. 5] the body 6 is shown in its unlocked position PI in which the beak 63 of the hook 6a, although engaged in the opening 3a, is not resting on the supporting structure 3. In this same figure the locked position P2 is shown: in this position, the beak 63 of the hook 6a is resting on the structure 3 and locks the magnetic fixing means 4, and therefore the removable panel 2, on said structure 3.

Each means 4 locks, thanks to the hooks 6a of the movable body 6, said panel 2 on the supporting structure 3. In the example shown in [Fig.lb], and in a non-limiting manner, the panel 2 comprises four magnetic fixing means 4. In this way, the panel 2 is securely hooked and fixed on the supporting structure 3 by the invisible magnetic fixing means 4.

Furthermore, these fixing means 4 are arranged on the face of the removable panel 2 which is not visible to the operators, cabin crew or passengers. Thus, it is not possible for the operators in charge of maintenance to be able to access these fixing means 4 and unlock them.

[0029] According to the invention, the tool 36, shown in [Fig. 3], consists of a structure 37 formed by a cross 38 comprising 2 branches 39, 40 crossing approximately in their middle, at an angle of approximately 90°. The geometry and dimensions of the cross 38 are such that the ends of each branch 39a, 39b, 40a, 40b are shaped to be positioned in line with the location of the means for fixing the removable panel 2 when the tool 36 is placed on the panel for the purpose of mounting or dismounting it.

The fixing of these gripping means 42 can be carried out by any method known to those skilled in the art: screws, welding, adhesive, etc. Without departing from the scope of the invention, the number of gripping means 42 can vary: a single gripping means 42 may, for example, be sufficient for handling the tool. Two gripping means 42 have been shown in [Fig. 3] which are in the form of two handles fixed on the face 37b of the structure 37, arranged astride the branches 39 and 40 of the cross 38. For this purpose, a first end of a first handle 42 (respectively second handle) is fixed along the end 39a of the branch 39 (respectively the end 40a of the branch 40) while the second end of this first handle 42 (respectively second handle) is fixed along the end 40b of the branch 40 (respectively the end 39b of the branch 39). This configuration facilitates the handling of the tool 36 and contributes to stiffening the structure 37.

This operation can be facilitated by the gripping means 42. The operator then positions the tool 36 (and therefore the structure 37) in contact with the face 2a of the removable panel 2. He thus ensures that the tool 36 is correctly positioned. Indeed, an incorrect positioning of the tool would not lead to the unlocking of each fixing means 4 of the panel 2, said panel 2 could then not be dismantled. In this case, the operator in charge of maintenance will have to reposition the tool 36.

The movable body 6 pivots about its axis of rotation 6c causing the hook 6a to be inserted into the opening 3a provided in the supporting structure, thus locking the magnetic fixing means 4 onto the supporting structure 3.

Tool (36) for mounting / dismounting a removable panel (2) comprising a visible face (2a) and an invisible face (2b) intended to be mounted on a supporting structure (3) characterized in that: - the panel (2) comprises, fixed on its face (2b), at least three magnetic fixing means (4) each being composed of a movable body (6) comprising a hook (6a) and a magnetic component (6b) having a first face (61), each body (6) being fixed on the panel (2) so that it can pivot around an axis of rotation (6c), said hook (6a) being able to be introduced, in the locked position, into an opening (3a) made in the supporting structure (3), - the panel (2) has an electroluminescent marking (34a, 34b, 34c, 34d), arranged to the right of each magnetic fixing means (4), and in that the tool (36) comprises: - a structure (37) having a face (37a) oriented towards the face (2a) of the removable panel (2) and a face (37b) opposite the face (37a) and comprising at least three magnetic elements (46) arranged along the face (37a) of said structure (37), - at least three devices (44) capable of emitting black light radiation in line with said at least three magnetic elements (46).

Tool (36) according to claim 1 characterized in that each magnetic element (46) comprises a face (46a) facing the face (2a) of the panel (2) and having a magnetic pole opposite the magnetic pole of the face (61) of said magnetic component (6b) of the magnetic fixing means (4) of the removable panel (2) which the magnetic element (46) faces.

3. Tool (36) according to claims 1 or 2 characterized in that it comprises at least one adhesion means (41) fixed on the face (37a) of said structure (37).

4. Tool (36) according to claim 3 characterized in that the means adhesion (41) is a suction cup.

5. Tool (36) according to claims 1, 2, 3 or 4 characterized in that it comprises at least one gripping means (42) fixed on the face (37b) of said structure (37).

6. Tool (36) according to claim 5 characterized in that the at least one gripping means (42) is a handle.

7. Tool (36) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the structure (37) has the shape of a cross (38) comprising two branches (39, 40) crossing approximately in their middle, at an angle of approximately 90°.

Tool (36) according to claim 7 characterized in that the geometry and dimensions of the cross (38) are such that the ends (39a, 39b, 40a, 40b) of each branch (39, 40) are shaped to be positioned in line with the location of the fixing means (4) of the removable panel (2) when the tool (36) is placed on the panel (2) for the purpose of its assembly or disassembly.

9. Tool (36) according to claim 8 characterized in that a magnetic element (46) and a device (44) capable of emitting black light radiation are fixed to each end (39a, 39b 40a, 40b) of the branches (39, 40) of the cross (38).

10. Tool (36) according to claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 characterized in that the structure (37) has the shape of a rectangular frame (150) composed of four ribs (150a, 150b, 150c, 150d) fixed together at their respective ends (151a, 151b, 151c, 151d).

11. Tool (36) according to claim 10 characterized in that a magnetic element (46) and a device (44) capable of emitting black light radiation are fixed to each end (151a, 151b, 151c, 151d) of the rectangular frame (150).
