Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: BRICK INTENDED FOR THE BUILDING SECTOR ALLOWING FOR FAST AND SOLID WALL CONSTRUCTION. technical field
[0001] The construction industry primarily uses bricks for the construction of buildings intended for all types of uses. Although brick has been used by humans for millennia, it remains one of the basic building materials.
[0002] The brick has evolved little over the centuries, made of terracotta or cement (concrete block), the brick is little affected by the technological upheavals we are going through.
[0003] However, the invention presented in this patent offers a significant improvement over the prior art, the implementation of which will considerably reduce construction time while making said construction much stronger and more durable. Furthermore, the invention presented in this document will greatly facilitate the work of trades associated with construction, such as electricians, plumbers, antenna installers, etc.
[0004] Consequently, the described invention will improve and facilitate the working methods of masonry and related trades. Implementing the invention will result in significant savings in time, money, and materials, with positive environmental repercussions. STATE OF THE ART
[0005] The closest prior art is patent [JP 200213] 75]2 - (P2002-317512A). This document describes interlocking bricks that do not require cement and use mechanical and metallic elements to secure said bricks. This invention appears suitable for terrestrial areas and does not offer the advantages described above in terms of construction speed, cost savings, and environmental friendliness.
[0006] Other types of bricks have emerged, notably so-called interlocking bricks made of terracotta, which are stacked using two male and female cylindrical sections. This solution does not offer any of the advantages of the invention presented. Moreover, it is fragile and remains little used.
[0007] SUCCESSFUL STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The invention is a brick made of terracotta, cement (concrete block) or any type of natural and / or synthetic material intended for building construction, designed to be quickly assembled by interlocking cooperating male elements with female elements. The upper face of each brick comprises two female cavities (1), and the lower part comprises two male elements (2) configured for a tight and secure coupling with the two female cavities. Any pair of two adjoining bricks creates a vertical cylindrical conduit (10) whose orifice (9) receives poured cement mortar (15), which, by gravity, fills a vertical cylinder (10) and two sealed horizontal cylinders (8). The drying of the poured cement mortar (15) ensures the solid and durable bonding of the walls constructed using the present invention. Furthermore, the brick incorporates vertical and horizontal conduits configured to receive electrical cable sheaths or other low-voltage conduits, as well as pipe sheaths. Detailed description of the invention
[0024] The brick that is the subject of the invention is parallelepiped and comprises 6 faces.
[0025] This brick, in its most conventional form, is primarily intended for partition walls and interior construction. Further on, we will describe other features of the invention with regard to bricks intended for exterior wall construction.
[0026] The brick intended for interior construction incorporates 3 zones. 1. A mechanical coupling zone between a female part, located above the brick, which is a recess configured to be joined with a male part in relief which is located below the brick. 2. A bonding zone using poured cement mortar (15), allowing bricks located side by side in a wall to be securely bonded by poured cement mortar (15), 3. An area which allows the use of the recesses, located on either side of the bonding area seen above, for the passage of electrical, telephone, data, audio cable conduits or even piping for the conveyance of any fluid.
[0027] 1- Mechanical coupling zone.
[0028] The state of the art in the field of bricks integrating male elements which fit together with female elements for the purpose of joining, the face which integrates the male elements is generally on the upper face.
[0029] In the present document, it is the upper face which incorporates the female elements or cavities, because said cavities (1) are intended to receive a defined quantity of poured cement mortar (15).
[0030] When laying a brick on top of two adjoining bricks, the insertion of the two male elements (2) into the two female cavities (1) of the two adjoining bricks has the effect of exerting pressure on the amount of cement mortar poured (15), and will to fill the space between the edges of the cavity of the female brick and the edges of the male elements, thus achieving a secure and adjusted coupling.
[0031] The height of the 2 male elements (2) is less than the depth of the 2 female cavities (1), so, after coupling, the base of the cavity contains poured cement mortar (15), which will ensure a solid anchoring between the male and female elements.
[0032] As it dries, the poured cement mortar (15) strongly bonds the male bricks to the female bricks. According to a more elaborate version, the male elements (2) incorporate recesses (3) (see [Fig. 1]) so that if there is excess poured cement mortar deposited in the female cavity (1), said excess is expelled through the recesses (3). Furthermore, the excess poured cement mortar allows for better bonding of the contacting faces.
[0033] The male elements (2) can have different shapes and remain within the scope of the present invention. According to a preferred version of the invention, the male elements (2) are symmetrical with respect to the axis (Z,T), of the lower face of the brick, and consist of 2 superimposed parallelepipeds, the horizontal sides of each of the 2 superimposed parallelepipeds also forming a square before the creation of 4 clearances (3).
[0034] Other forms of male elements can be implemented within the framework of the present invention as long as said form fulfills the functions specified above.
[0035] By way of example, the male elements in the shape of an inverted truncated pyramid, (not shown), whose base has a parallelepiped shape designed to fit securely into the female cavity (1), could be adapted for the implementation of the invention.
[0036] 2- A bonding zone by poured cement mortar (15).
[0037] This area describes an original feature of the bonding between two adjoining bricks. The bonding is achieved by introducing poured cement mortar (15) into the cylindrical recess appearing when any pair of two adjoining bricks joined by the coupling specified in point 1 are brought into contact.
[0038] Said poured cement mortar (15) will fill the vertical cylindrical conduit (10) through the orifice (9); said poured cement mortar (15) will, by gravity, fill the 2 horizontal cylinders (8), then the cylindrical conduit (10). See fig (FF).
[0039] In a more elaborate version of the invention, air exhaust ducts (11) are provided at the four ends of the two horizontal cylinders (8), located on either side of the vertical cylinder (10). So that, during the filling of the vertical cylinder (10) and the two horizontal ducts (8) with the poured cement mortar (15), the air contained in the aforementioned ducts will be rapidly evacuated, allowing to reduce the time required to construct the walls. The dimensions of said air exhaust ducts (11) are small and only a few millimeters in diameter, and thus adapted to their functions.
[0040] Said singular and innovative bonding function, associated with the specific mechanical coupling function, described in point 1, makes it possible to construct walls with a high level of resistance and durability.
[0041] Zone 2 includes in the lower part a through recess (7), the purpose of which is to lighten the brick.
[0042] Furthermore, the present invention makes it possible to produce walls with a considerable saving of time.
[0043] After meticulously laying the first row, ensuring the verticality, horizontality, and alignment of each brick and the overall structure, the operator can quickly erect the walls without worrying about the horizontality, verticality, and alignment mentioned above. To this end, full-scale tests have been conducted and demonstrate that the construction time for a wall using the present invention can be reduced by a factor of more than 10!
[0044] 3- An area which allows the use of the recesses on either side of the brick.
[0045] This point makes it easier to work in construction-related trades, such as electrician, plumber...
[0046] Said preferably cylindrical vertical and horizontal open recesses are made in the brick.
[0047] Hollows of any other shape, in particular rectangular sections, fall within the scope of the invention as soon as they perform functions comparable to those described in the invention.
[0048] Said recesses are configured for the passage of electrical cable conduits, data cables, or conduits for the conveyance of any fluid.
[0049] The horizontal and vertical through-holes which intersect allow any electrical conduit or piping to be integrated directly, from any point to any point, on the same horizontal or vertical line, or indirectly if this is not the case, by means of drilling a hole of suitable diameter, at the intersection of the horizontal line and the vertical line of the path of the electrical conduit or piping in order to insert an elbow or any suitable guide to allow said conduit to follow a 90° rotation.
[0050] This feature of the invention avoids digging trenches in walls, and saves time and money.
[0051] The bricks are provided with 6 horizontal through-holes and 2 vertical hole plus 4 half vertical hole, which are transformed into a complete hole by the joining of 2 adjoining bricks.
[0052] To facilitate the implementation of the invention, the filling with the poured cement mortar (15) of the 2 female cavities (1) and the bonding zone by introducing said cement mortar into the vertical cylinder (10), can be carried out manually by an operator, or by a device specific to the invention which allows the filling seen above to be carried out more quickly and with an adequate quantity of poured cement mortar (15).The device (14) comprises 3 interlocking arms, which are conduits for injecting a determined quantity of cast cement mortar (15). The dimensions and configuration of the 3 interlocking arms are adjusted so that the first 2 arms inject the cast cement mortar (15) into the 2 female cavities (1), and the third arm injects said cast cement mortar (15) into the vertical cylinder (10). Said cement mortar introduced into the vertical cylinder (10) will fill the 2 horizontal cylinders (8) and the vertical cylinder (10).
[0053] The quantity of poured cement mortar (15), determined and injected, is preferably measured by a programmable flow meter for each of the three interlocking arms. The cement mortar is injected into the three interlocking arms by a suitable pump. The poured cement mortar (15) may be contained in a dedicated pressurized tank, which may be carried by an operator or attached to a pressurized tank on wheels.
[0054] The invention presented in this document is preferably designed for interior use, with two recessed areas for integrating electrical wiring, signaling devices, or dedicated conduits for fluids. However, the invention is also applicable to exterior walls, with a different configuration, namely: the interior face incorporates recesses for routing ducts or pipes as described above. The exterior face of the brick, as well as the central portion, both incorporate a bonding zone as described above.
[0055] For the construction of exterior walls, the dimensions of the bricks are larger and comparable to cement blocks or slightly smaller because the design of the bricks, which are the subject of the invention, means that the length of the brick is twice its width.
[0056] For the sake of indication, we give the main dimensions of the invention in millimeters: the length of the brick, in the classic version is 260, the width: 130, the height 150.
[0057] The diameter of the cylindrical recesses passing vertically and horizontally is 30, the diameter of the vertical cylinder (4) is 35.
[0058] The dimension of the female cavity (1) is 70 on the side and 30 in depth, the dimension of the male element which couples with the female element is 68 on the side and 20 in height, (the sum of the heights of the 2 parallelepipeds which constitute it).
[0059] All variants of configurations, dimensions, materials, and color fall within the scope of the invention, in particular the cement mortar can be replaced by other materials ensuring the same function.
[0060] CONCLUSION:
[0061] The invention described in this document is a brick whose implementation in construction will offer a new paradigm in the world of construction, by significantly reducing the duration of said construction, while offering a notable improvement in the quality of the finish, strength, and durability. The characteristics described above are such as to reduce the cost of construction and, ultimately, the cost of acquiring real estate.
