Description

Title of the invention: Device for assembling a balance wheel Technical field

[0001] The present invention belongs to the field of cable vehicle transport installations, and in particular to that of ski lifts equipping, for example, winter sports resorts, and relates more particularly to an assembly device for assembling a balance beam to a pylon head. State of the art

[0002] In a cable car type vehicle transport installation, seats or cabins are attached to an overhead cable, such as a hauling cable, by hooking clamps which may be fixed or detachable.

[0003] In order to allow the transport of users of the installation between a boarding station and a disembarkation station, the aerial cable pulls the seats or cabins while being guided by a plurality of guide rollers mounted in rotation on balances, which are mounted movably or fixedly on pylons suitably distributed along the route separating the boarding station from the disembarkation station.

[0004] A balance beam comprises at least one metal beam on which are mounted at least two guide rollers rotating around an axis perpendicular to a main axis of extension of the metal beam.

[0005] Often, a balance beam comprises a plurality of metal beams each supporting two guide rollers and being articulated to each other around axes parallel to the axes of rotation of the guide rollers.

[0006] Each pylon of the installation comprises a pylon head on which is provided at least one support element or supporting structure, also called a jib, arranged to support at least one balance beam, and often two balance beams.

[0007] The assembly of a balance beam on a pylon jib and its disassembly are delicate and costly operations, in particular due to the weight and the complex structure of the balance beam.

[0008] These operations generally require the use of a helicopter for transport to the site and the implementation of an initial positioning of the balance on or near the pylon jib.

[0009] These operations also require the presence, on a platform at the pylon head, of a large number of maintenance operators whose role is to position the balance more precisely and then fix it to the jib.

[0010] During the work of the maintenance operators, the helicopter pilot must constantly keep the balancer in position, and this as long as the latter is not fixed in a stable and secure manner to the jib. The helicopter intervention is therefore time-consuming and complex, which makes the cost of assembling the balance beam significant without obviously reducing the risk of incidents or accidents.

[0011] Furthermore, the configuration of the terrain, generally steep and / or difficult to access, makes assembly and disassembly operations all the more difficult.

[0012] These operations are nevertheless essential, and it is necessary to carry them out regularly to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the entire installation at all times.

[0013] Indeed, balance wheels are complex and important elements which must be regularly subjected to inspections to check their condition or remedy malfunctions. In particular, it may be necessary to dismantle a balance wheel to precisely check any worn parts which must be replaced, in particular the rotation axes of the bearings and the various locking and fixing elements.

[0014] However, dismantling a balance wheel is a long and delicate operation which is preferable to be carried out in a workshop, which therefore requires the prior removal of the balance wheel from the stem as well as its subsequent assembly or even its replacement. Summary of the invention

[0015] The present application aims to remedy all or some of the aforementioned drawbacks, and in particular to reduce the costs and risks associated with the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of ski lift balances. In particular, there is a need to make the installation and / or uninstallation of a balance faster, safer and less expensive.

[0016] To this end, the present invention relates to an assembly device for assembling a balance beam to a pylon head of a pylon of a cable vehicle transport installation, the assembly device comprising:

[0017] - a first coupling part provided on the balance and a second coupling part provided on a bracket of the pylon head and configured to couple with the first coupling part in a coupling direction which is substantially vertical when the assembly device is in use;

[0018] - a first guide part provided on the balance and a second guide part guidance provided on the pylon head, the first guide part being configured to cooperate with the second guide part so as to guide the balance beam in translation in the coupling direction and to allow the coupling of the first coupling part and the second coupling part during an operation of raising the balance beam; and

[0019] - a locking mechanism configured to lock the coupling of the first coupling part and the second coupling part.

[0020] A vehicle transport installation by cable, and in particular a ski lift installation of the cable car, chairlift or ski lift type, generally comprises a plurality of pylons distributed between a user boarding station and a user disembarkation station.

[0021] Each pylon comprises a pylon head connected to the ground by a pylon column therefore extending in a substantially vertical direction.

[0022] The pylon head further comprises a jib capable of supporting at least one balance beam, and generally two balance beams.

[0023] Each balancer comprises a plurality of rotating rollers, generally assembled in pairs, and therefore in particular two, four, six, eight or ten rotating rollers, one function of which is to guide the cable of the installation in translation, which allows the movement of users installed for example in the cabins or on the sets of seats of the ski lift installation.

[0024] At each of the pylons, it is important that the weight of a cabin and / or a set of seats transporting users is at all times equitably distributed between each of the rotating rollers of each balance beam.

[0025] In other words, each balance beam is mounted on a jib of a pylon head so that each of its rotating rollers supports at all times a load equivalent to the others. Indeed, an unequal distribution of the load between the rotating rollers could cause rapid and abnormal wear of the installation, or even cause accidents.

[0026] It is therefore important to ensure correct assembly of each balance wheel on the corresponding stem.

[0027] Advantageously, the first coupling part cooperates with the second coupling part in order to allow correct coupling of the balance beam and the jib of the pylon head.

[0028] Advantageously, the first guide part and the second guide part make it easier and faster to couple the balance beam to the jib of the pylon head by allowing the balance beam to be guided upwards until it is coupled to the jib.

[0029] During this assembly, the balance beam is in fact supported by a helicopter, and only two maintenance operators located on a platform at the pylon head are required in order to finely position the balance beam to enable it to be raised and then coupled and mounted at the pylon head.

[0030] Thanks to the provisions of the invention, only two operators are in fact necessary, who are responsible for positioning the balance wheel so that the first guide part cooperates with the second guide part, such cooperation then making it possible to guide the balancer during its elevation by the helicopter to allow quick and easy coupling of the first coupling part and the second coupling part.

[0031] According to one possibility, the first guide portion is configured to be removably mountable on the balance beam. According to this possibility, the first guide portion can be removed from the balance beam, for example once the balance beam is attached to the pylon head bracket.

[0032] According to one embodiment, the second coupling part comprises a first bracket opening, the first coupling part comprising a coupling member intended to pass through the first bracket opening.

[0033] According to one possibility, the first stem opening is provided on a lower wall of the stem. Advantageously, said lower wall extends in a substantially horizontal plane, that is to say a plane orthogonal to the direction in which the balance is guided in translation.

[0034] According to one possibility, the balance beam comprises a balance beam, and the coupling member is fixed to the balance beam, and for example to an upper face of the balance beam. Advantageously, the coupling member is configured to extend in an extension plane substantially orthogonal to the upper face of the balance beam.

[0035] According to one embodiment, the coupling member comprises a passage opening, the locking mechanism comprising a locking member intended to pass through said passage opening.

[0036] According to one possibility, the locking member comprises a locking rod.

[0037] According to one possibility, the coupling member comprises a hoop having a passage opening suitable for the locking rod to pass through.

[0038] According to one embodiment, the bracket of the pylon head comprises a second bracket opening, the locking member being intended to pass through said second bracket opening.

[0039] Advantageously, the second stem opening is provided on a side wall of the stem.

[0040] Advantageously, the locking of the coupling is reversible, and therefore temporary, that is to say that the locking member can be removed, for example once the balance is fixed to the bracket since once this fixing is carried out the locking member becomes useless. It is in fact easy to extract the locking member.

[0041] According to one embodiment, the bracket of the pylon head has a third bracket opening located opposite the second bracket opening, the locking member being intended to pass through said third bracket opening.

[0042] According to one embodiment, the first guide portion comprises a first balance plate and a second balance plate, the second guide portion comprising a first rod and a second rod substantially parallel to each other and configured to cooperate respectively with the first balance plate and the second balance plate so as to allow the translational guidance of the balance.

[0043] Advantageously, the first balance plate is configured to be removably attached to the balance, and for example removably attached to the balance beam.

[0044] Similarly, the second balance plate is configured to be removably attached to the balance, and for example removably attached to the balance beam.

[0045] Thus, said first and second balance plates can optionally be removed once the balance is coupled to the stem.

[0046] According to one possibility, the first balance plate and / or the second balance plate has a substantially rectangular shape.

[0047] According to one possibility, at least one of said first rod and the second rod has a circular section.

[0048] According to one embodiment, the first balance plate is intended to come into abutment against the first rod, and in which the second balance plate is intended to come into abutment against the second rod.

[0049] Thus, the respective cooperations of the first balance plate with the first rod and of the second balance plate with the second rod make it possible to guide the balance in translation upwards in order to allow the coupling of the first coupling part provided on the balance and the second coupling part provided on the stem.

[0050] Furthermore, these provisions make it possible to improve the safety of the two maintenance operators working on the pylon head during the assembly of the balance beam on the pylon head. Indeed, said first and second rods make it possible to block the balance beam and prevent it from striking one or other of the operators.

[0051] According to one possibility, at least one of said first balance plate and second balance plate has a side of complementary shape to at least one of said first and second rod.

[0052] According to one possibility, the first plate has a rounded and concave side, which is intended to come into contact with the first rod.

[0053] According to one possibility, the side of the second plate intended to come into contact with the second rod is straight.

[0054] According to these provisions, correct positioning and orientation of the balance beam relative to the jib of the pylon head are facilitated.

[0055] According to one possibility, the assembly device comprises a main frame on which the second guide part is provided.

[0056] According to this possibility, the main frame of the assembly device comprises a main frame beam, for example of rectangular section, on which said first and second rods are fixed.

[0057] According to one possibility, the main frame beam comprises a beam opening, and the locking member is configured to pass through said beam opening.

[0058] According to this possibility, the main frame is configured to be removably mounted on the pylon head, and for example removably attached to the jib of the pylon head. Thanks to this possibility, the main frame can be removed from the pylon head, for example when the balance beam is attached to the jib of the pylon head.

[0059] The assembly device may for example comprise a frame attachment mechanism configured to allow the attachment of the main frame beam to the jib of the pylon head, and therefore the mounting of the main frame to the pylon head and to allow its subsequent disassembly.

[0060] According to one possibility, the frame attachment mechanism comprises an attachment plate attached to the main frame beam.

[0061] According to one possibility, the fixing plate has a main frame fixing plate opening, and the locking member is configured to pass through said plate opening.

[0062] According to one embodiment, the assembly device further comprises an alignment mechanism configured to align the balancer relative to the jib of the pylon head.

[0063] According to one possibility, the alignment mechanism comprises an alignment element configured to be attached to the balance wheel.

[0064] According to one embodiment, the assembly device further comprises a balancer attachment mechanism configured to attach the balancer to the jib of the pylon head.

[0065] According to one possibility, said locking mechanism operates independently of the balance fixing mechanism.

[0066] Advantageously, the locking mechanism, by being dissociated from the balance fixing mechanism, allows the two maintenance operators present on the platform of the pylon head to simply and quickly lock the coupling of the first coupling part and the second coupling part.

[0067] In this way, once the coupling is locked by the locking mechanism, the first coupling part can no longer be uncoupled from the second coupling part, even if the helicopter releases the rocker.

[0068] Then, the balancer can be attached to the jib by means of the balancer attachment mechanism, without additional intervention from the helicopter.

[0069] Thanks to these provisions, the intervention time of the helicopter is reduced, since it is no longer necessary for the helicopter to support the balancer until the latter is actually fixed to the pylon head by the two maintenance operators.

[0070] According to one possibility, the balancer has at least four, and preferably eight threaded balancer attachment holes, and the pylon head bracket has at least four, and preferably eight threaded and through-threaded bracket attachment holes.

[0071] Once the first coupling part, provided on the balance, is coupled to the second coupling part provided on the jib of the pylon head, the alignment mechanism makes it possible to achieve perfect alignment of each of the jib fixing holes with respect to the corresponding balance fixing hole.

[0072] The balance beam attachment mechanism comprises at least four, and for example eight screws, each being intended to be screwed into one of the bracket attachment holes and into one of the balance beam attachment holes in order to ensure the attachment of the balance beam to the bracket of the pylon head. [0081] Figures 1a to 8b represent an assembly device 10 for assembling a balance 40 (represented more particularly in [Fig.3a]) to a pylon head 30 (represented more particularly in [Fig.2d]) of a pylon of a vehicle transport installation by cable, for example a pylon of a ski lift installation of the cable car or chairlift type.

[0082] The pylon head 30 more particularly comprises a bracket 31 intended to support the balance 40 which comprises for example six guide bearings 42 to guide the cable of the installation, and an additional balance 41 which comprises for example four guide bearings 42.

[0083] The pylon head 30 also comprises a platform 32 extending in a substantially horizontal plane, and therefore substantially orthogonal to the direction of extension of the pylon column, to allow safe movement of at least one maintenance operator from one end of the pylon head 30 to the other.

[0084] In particular, [Fig.1a] offers a perspective view of some of the constituent elements of the assembly device 10 according to an embodiment of the invention.

[0085] The assembly device 10 comprises a main frame 11, which comprises a first rod 12 and a second rod 13, for example of circular section, parallel to each other. The main frame 11 also comprises a main frame beam 14, for example of rectangular section, on which are fixed at one of their ends each of said first rod 12 and second rod 13.

[0086] More specifically, a first end of the first rod 12 is fixed to the main frame beam 14 at a first end of the main frame beam 14, while a first end of the second rod 13 is fixed to the main frame beam 14 at a second end of the main frame beam 14.

[0087] According to the embodiment shown in [Fig.1a], the first rod 12 comprises a first rod portion extending, from the first end of the beam 14, perpendicularly to a main direction of extension of the main frame beam 14, a second rod portion extending parallel to the first rod portion and offset transversely relative to the first rod portion, and an intermediate connecting portion located between the first and second rod portions and inclined relative thereto. However, according to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the first rod 12 could be rectilinear.

[0088] Similarly, the second rod 13 comprises a first rod portion extending, from the second end of the main frame beam 14, perpendicular to the main direction of extension of the main frame beam 14, a second rod portion extending parallel to the first rod portion and offset transversely relative to the first rod portion, and an intermediate connecting portion located between the respective first and second rod portions and inclined relative thereto. However, according to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the second rod 13 could be rectilinear.

[0089] As shown in Figures 2a to 2g, the main frame 11 of the assembly device 10 is intended to be fixed to the pylon head 30. To do this, the assembly device 10 comprises a frame fixing mechanism configured to allow the mounting and fixing of the main frame 11 to the bracket 31 of the pylon head 30.

[0090] As can be seen in Figures 1b and 2b, the frame fixing mechanism comprises in particular a fixing plate 15 fixed to the main frame beam 14, and two nuts 23 intended to ensure the fixing of the main frame beam 14 to the bracket 31, and therefore the mounting of the main frame 11 on the pylon head 30.

[0091] Advantageously, the main frame beam 14 is fixed, by means of the two nuts 23, at a first end of the bracket 31, while at the second end of the bracket 31 is fixed the balance 41 comprising four guide bearings 42.

[0092] Once the main frame 11 is thus mounted on the pylon head 30, the main frame beam 14 extends in a substantially horizontal direction, while the first and second rods 12, 13 each extend in a substantially vertical plane. In particular, the first rod portion of each of the first and second rods 12, 13 extends in a substantially vertical direction.

[0093] The assembly device 10 also comprises a first balance plate 16 and a second balance plate 17 of substantially rectangular shape and intended to be mounted on the balance 40, and in particular fixed on a balance beam 43, as shown in FIGS. 3a and 3b.

[0094] Specifically, the fixing of the first balance plate 16 on the balance beam 43 is carried out by means of fixing screws, for example four in number, and the fixing of the second balance plate 17 on the balance beam 43 is carried out by means of fixing screws 27, for example four in number.

[0095] Once secured, the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 extend in a plane substantially parallel to the plane of extension of an upper surface 44 of the balance beam 43. Advantageously, the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 each protrude from the side wall of the balance beam 43 which is intended to be oriented towards the pylon head 30.

[0096] The assembly device 10 further comprises a coupling member 18, in the form of a hoop, provided on the balance 40 and more particularly on the upper surface 44 of the balance beam 43. In this way, the coupling member 18 forms a first coupling part provided on the balance 40 and intended to couple with a second coupling part (visible in [Fig.2h]) provided on the bracket 31 of the pylon head 30.

[0097] In particular, the second coupling portion comprises a first bracket opening 34 provided on a lower wall of the bracket 31 and through which at least a portion of the coupling member 18 is intended to extend.

[0098] The first coupling part provided on the balance 40 and the second coupling part provided on the jib 31 are configured to cooperate with each other in order to allow the coupling of the balance 40 and the jib 31 of the pylon head 30.

[0099] The assembly and fixing of the balance 40 on the bracket 31 will now be described in relation to [Fig.4a] and following.

[0100] In Figures 4a to 4d, the balance 40 is shown in the approach phase of the pylon head 30. This approach phase is implemented by means of a helicopter (not shown in the figures), which supports and moves the balance 40 so as to approach it to the pylon head 30.

[0101] The approach phase ends when the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 are respectively in contact with the first rod 12 and the second rod 13, as shown in Figures 5c to 5e. In this position, the coupling member 18 provided on the balance 40 is located below the first bracket opening 34 (see [Fig.5c]).

[0102] In practice, a first maintenance operator working on the platform 32 of the pylon head 30 helps to bring the first balance plate 16 and the first rod 12 into contact ([Fig.5d]), while a second maintenance operator helps to bring the second balance plate 17 and the second rod 13 into contact ([Fig.5d]).

[0103] Advantageously, the first balance plate 16 comprises a side having a concave curvature complementary to the circular section of the first rod 12, said side coming to match the first rod 12 at the time of contact. This arrangement makes it possible to ensure correct lateral positioning of the balance 40 relative to the bracket 31 of the pylon head 30.

[0104] Furthermore, the side of the second balance plate 17 coming into contact with the second rod 13 is straight, which makes it possible to ensure correct angular positioning of the balance 40.

[0105] Thus, the cooperation of the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 with the first rod 12 and the second rod 13 respectively makes it possible to ensure correct positioning and orientation, in other words correct centering, of the balance 40 relative to the pylon head 30. In addition, these elements make it possible to block the movement of the balance 40 and thus prevent it from striking one of the two maintenance operators working on the platform 32 of the pylon head 30.

[0106] The phase of raising the balance 40 with respect to the pylon head 30, carried out by means of the helicopter, can then take place. During the raising phase, the first maintenance operator keeps the first balance plate 16 in contact with the first rod 12 while the second maintenance operator keeps the second balance plate 17 in contact with the second rod 13. At the same time, the helicopter gradually raises the balance 40 so that the coupling member 18 approaches and then passes through the first jib opening 34 provided on the lower wall of the jib 31.

[0107] During the elevation, the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17, in collaboration with the first rod 12 and the second rod 13, have the function of ensuring the guidance of the balance 40 in vertical translation upwards. Thus, the first rod 12 forms a slide for the first balance plate 16, while the second rod 13 forms a slide for the second balance plate 17.

[0108] Thus, the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 form a first guide part provided on the balance 40 and intended to cooperate with a second guide part provided on the pylon head 30 and formed by the first rod 12 and the second rod 13.

[0109] By cooperating with each other, the first guide part and the second guide part make it possible to guide the balance 40 in translation in a substantially vertical coupling direction in order to allow the coupling of the first coupling part provided on the balance 40 and formed by the coupling member 18 and the second coupling part provided on the bracket 31 and formed by the first bracket opening 34, as can be seen in FIGS. 6b and 6c.

[0110] Once the first coupling part and the second coupling part are coupled, a locking member 19, precisely a locking rod, makes it possible to lock said coupling by passing through the coupling member 18.

[0111] As can be seen in [Fig.7b], the locking member 19 is configured to pass successively through a beam opening 21 provided on the main frame beam 14 (which opening is visible in [Fig.2c]), through a plate opening 24 provided on the fixing plate 15, through a second bracket opening 35 provided on a first side wall of the bracket 31, and through a third bracket opening 36 provided on a second side wall of the bracket 31 and located opposite the second bracket opening 35.

[0112] Thus, one of the two maintenance operators can quickly block the coupling of the first coupling part and the second coupling part by means of the blocking member 19. Once the coupling is blocked, the helicopter can then release the balancer 40 without risk, since the coupling of the latter to the bracket 31 is now blocked by the blocking member 19. Thus, the intervention of the helicopter is shortened, and the two maintenance operators can proceed, in the absence of the helicopter having left for another mission, to align and then fix the balancer 40 on the bracket 31, as shown in FIGS. 8a and 8b.

[0113] The alignment of the balance 40 relative to the bracket 31 is achieved by means of an alignment mechanism comprising an alignment element 20, precisely an alignment plate, as well as a first pair of screws 28, and a second pair of screws 29.

[0114] As can be seen in [Fig.7b], the balance 40 comprises two threaded alignment holes 46, each being intended to receive one of the screws 28 of the first pair of screws of the alignment mechanism, as can be seen in [Fig.8b]. The two screws 29 of the second pair of screws of the alignment mechanism make it possible, by means of a fine adjustment, to align the balance 40 with respect to the bracket 31. In particular, the two screws 29 are configured to come into abutment against a lateral face of the bracket 31, and make it possible to move the bracket 31 relative to the balance by screwing the two screws 29 more or less. Thus, this adjustment makes it possible to align and match bracket fixing holes 37, for example eight in number, threaded and passing through provided on the lower wall of the bracket 31 with balance fixing holes 45 (visible in [Fig.6c]), for example eight in number, provided on the balance 40.

[0115] Once the alignment has been carried out, the pendulum 40 is fixed to the bracket 31 by means of a pendulum fixing mechanism comprising two identical fixing elements 22, the function of which is to fix the pendulum 40 to the bracket 31 by means of screws 25, for example four in number.

[0116] As shown in [Fig.8b], each of the screws 25 is intended to be screwed into one of the stem fixing holes 37 and into one of the corresponding balance fixing holes 45.

[0117] Once the balance 40 is fixed on the bracket 31 and before putting the ski lift installation into operation, it is necessary to remove the locking member 19.

[0118] It is also necessary to dismantle the main frame 11 from the pylon head 30 by unscrewing the two nuts 23 fixing the main frame beam 14 to the bracket 31. Once these two nuts 23 have been unscrewed, it is in fact possible to remove the main frame 11 from the pylon head 30.

[0119] Finally, it is also possible to remove the first balance plate 16 and the second balance plate 17 from the balance 40 by unscrewing the fixing screws 26 and the fixing screws 27 respectively.
