Steering column with angular stop for an electrically controlled vehicle steering system

Abstract

The present invention relates to a steering column assembly (20), comprising: - a rotating steering shaft (26) with a longitudinal axis (AX) intended to support a steering wheel; - a structural element (24) locked against rotation about the longitudinal axis; - an angular locking mechanism (40) ensuring cooperation between the structural element and the steering shaft to limit the rotation of the steering shaft, comprising: - first and second external threads (52, 54), with opposite orientations and longitudinally offset from each other, rotationally fixed to the steering shaft; - first and second nuts (44, 46), each having an internal thread (60, 61) cooperating with one of the corresponding external threads; - means for locking against rotation and guiding in longitudinal translation of these nuts; - means for limiting the longitudinal travel of the nuts.
