Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Watertight corner-reinforced box 1. Scope of the invention
[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of crates intended for the storage and transport of foodstuffs.
[0002] More specifically, the invention relates to crates intended for the storage of fresh products, in particular fish. 2. Prior art
[0003] Fresh fish must be packaged for storage and transport.
[0004] For this purpose, it is very common to place it in polystyrene boxes. Such boxes comprise a base and four sides delimiting a storage space in which the fish is placed with ice, optionally with a PE film interposed between the fish and the ice. The storage space is closed with a lid. The box has holes in its lower part that allow water to drain as the ice melts. Alternatively, an absorbent material can be placed in the box to absorb the water as the ice melts.
[0005] This type of crate is very effective insofar as it allows the storage of fish for a few days at a satisfactory storage temperature.
[0006] However, this type of box has the disadvantage of posing difficulties in terms of recycling.
[0007] Indeed, the manufacturing locations of these crates are different from the fish packaging locations, which necessitates transporting the crates from their manufacturing location to their point of use. Furthermore, these crates are destroyed after receipt at their final place of use. All of this generates transportation costs and produces an environmental impact.
[0008] Alternatively, it is known to package fish in returnable plastic crates. This type of crate has essentially the same advantages and disadvantages as polystyrene crates.
[0009] These plastic crates also have the advantage of being reusable. However, this requires cleaning them between uses, which is time-consuming and requires water. Furthermore, they must be transported from the point of delivery to the fish packing point, which has a significant financial and environmental impact, although less so than transporting polystyrene crates, since the plastic crates are stackable and less bulky to transport when empty.
[0010] It is still known to package fish in cardboard boxes. In this case: - when corrugated cardboard is used, the fish is slipped in with ice packaged in a plastic bag before being placed in the crate, or - when the cardboard used is solid cardboard, the fish is slipped with ice into the crate which has drainage holes at the bottom.
[0011] Most often, the cardboard used to make these crates is solid board covered on both sides with a PE film, making it essentially waterproof. It is also known to use high-quality Sapino® cardboard, which improves the cardboard's water resistance and consequently increases the crate's lifespan and therefore its capacity to store fish over time under acceptable temperature conditions.
[0012] This material is easily recyclable, with separation of the paper and PE plastic fibers, the recovered paper and plastic fibers being reusable. Furthermore, the blanks used to form these crates are lightweight, easy to transport, and easy to shape. Thus, these crates can be formed as close as possible to the shipping locations of the fresh products packaged in them and can be recycled after use rather than being returned to the fresh product packaging location after delivery. This significantly reduces the environmental impact of these crates.
[0013] Despite the water-resistant nature of the cardboard used to make these crates, water tends to penetrate the cardboard fibers over time, particularly at the bottom of the crate, which weakens the crates in terms of mechanical strength. These crates are stacked on pallets for transport. Thus, due to the weakening of their mechanical properties over time, and in particular the reduction of their compressive strength, the stacked crates tend to sag under the weight of the crates above, which can cause the pallet to collapse.
[0014] To address this problem, it is known to place a corner reinforcement at each of the four corners of the crate. Such a corner reinforcement improves the crate's resistance to compression under a load along an axis perpendicular to the bottom of the crate. As illustrated in [Fig. 1], such a corner reinforcement 10, positioned at the junction between two consecutive sides 11, 12 of the crate, is generally in the form of a tubular element with a triangular cross-section in a plane parallel to the bottom 13.
[0015] Such an implementation makes it possible to greatly strengthen the mechanical resistance, and in particular the compressive strength of the cardboard boxes.
[0016] However, during the storage and transport of fresh products kept with ice, water tends to soak into the fibers of the flaps constituting the corner reinforcements, starting from their base, i.e., from their end located at the bottom of the crate. This tends to weaken the corner reinforcements, whose compressive strength decreases, as does that of the crate.
[0017] Thus, it may happen that the cardboard boxes currently used to store and transport fish are not sufficiently strong mechanically to retain their shape for a sufficient time to transport the fish in good conditions.
[0018] There is therefore a need to produce cardboard boxes that can allow the storage and transport of fresh products, in particular fresh fish, for a sufficient time without mechanical damage to the box, in particular for several days or even at least a week. 3. Objectives of the invention
[0019] The invention aims in particular to provide an effective solution to at least some of these different problems.
[0020] In particular, according to at least one embodiment, an objective of the invention is to provide a compact cardboard box for packaging fresh products which can allow the storage and transport of such products under satisfactory conditions for several days, in particular for more than two days.
[0021] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a crate which can allow the storage and transport of such products under satisfactory conditions for at least six days.
[0022] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a box which can allow the storage and transport of such products under satisfactory conditions for less than two days but using a smaller quantity of cardboard.
[0023] In particular, the invention aims, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a box capable of maintaining its mechanical properties, in particular under compression, including in humid and / or greasy environments.
[0024] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a crate which has a low ecological impact.
[0025] In particular, an objective of the invention is, in at least one embodiment, to provide such a crate which is recyclable and / or whose volume is optimized for flat transport and / or which can be compressed into a volume at the user's premises.
[0026] In particular, an objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a crate that is recyclable and / or that can be easily disposed of. shaped and / or whose blank from which it is shaped is easily transportable. 4. Presentation of the invention
[0027] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are at least partly achieved according to the invention by means of a compact cardboard box, said cardboard being covered on its two opposite faces with a coating that is waterproof and / or greaseproof, said box comprising at least one base, four sides and at least one corner reinforcement configured to provide compression reinforcement of said box along an axis orthogonal to said base, said at least one corner reinforcement being disposed at the junction between two of said consecutively arranged sides.
[0028] According to the invention, said at least one corner reinforcement has at least one corner reinforcement wall having a bottom end oriented towards said bottom, said at least one bottom end being at least partially folded at 180° along a fold line relative to said corner reinforcement wall, in a direction opposite to said bottom, along said corner reinforcement wall, said fold line extending near said bottom.
[0029] Thus, the invention consists of creating an overhang by folding the lower end of a corner reinforcement, i.e., the end located near the bottom of the crate, at 180°, so as to considerably increase the compressive strength in a direction orthogonal to the bottom of the crate, of a crate intended to contain fresh produce and ice. This is partly explained by the fact that the 180° fold prevents liquid and / or grease from soaking the cardboard fibers through the edge of the corner reinforcement facing the bottom of the crate.
[0030] This implementation can indeed make it possible to ensure the transport of such products under satisfactory conditions, i.e. without deformation of the crates which could cause them to collapse when stored stacked on top of each other, for periods of several days which may exceed six days.
[0031] Alternatively, the technique according to the invention makes it possible to produce boxes without increasing the resistance to compression but with a smaller quantity of cardboard.
[0032] According to one possible feature, said corner reinforcement wall extends orthogonally to said bottom.
[0033] According to one possible feature, said at least one bottom end extends all along said at least one corner reinforcement wall.
[0034] This makes it possible to effectively strengthen the compressive strength of a case.
[0035] According to one possible feature, said at least one bottom end extends, without interruption, all along said at least one corner reinforcement wall.
[0036] The fact that the bottom end is not interrupted makes it possible to reduce the strips of cardboard through which liquid and / or grease are likely to impregnate the cardboard fibers, and thus to increase the mechanical resistance to compression of the box.
[0037] According to one possible feature, said fold line is applied against said background.
[0038] According to one possible feature, said folding line is away from said bottom by a distance less than or equal to 5 millimeters.
[0039] In this case, the folding line comes into contact with the bottom of the crate under the effect of the weight of the crate(s) stacked on top of it.
[0040] According to one possible feature, said at least one angle reinforcement forms, with the two consecutive sides at the junction of which it is disposed, essentially a triangle in a plane parallel to said base.
[0041] Such a configuration gives the case good resistance to compression in a simple way.
[0042] According to one possible feature, the side of said triangle formed by said angle reinforcement is right-angled in a plane parallel to said background.
[0043] According to another possible feature, the side of said triangle formed by said corner reinforcement is curved, in a plane parallel to said bottom, in the direction of the inside or outside of said box.
[0044] The implementation of this curved shape makes it possible to significantly increase the compressive strength of the casing compared to the implementation of a straight shape, with a factor of the order of 1.5 times or more.
[0045] According to one possible feature, said at least one corner reinforcement essentially forms a cylinder orthogonally to said base.
[0046] Such a configuration gives the case good resistance to compression.
[0047] According to one possible feature, said bottom end folded at 180° to said wall of said at least one corner reinforcement includes one or two free side edges, said free side edges each being folded at 180° against said wall along a fold line inclined with respect to said bottom in the direction of an end of said box opposite said bottom.
[0048] This implementation allows the free edges of the bottom ends to be offset from the bottom towards the top of the box so that their lateral edges are not exposed to any liquid and / or grease that may be present at the bottom of the box. This prevents such liquids and / or grease from penetrating the cardboard fibers through the free edges of the bottom ends of the corner reinforcements, thereby significantly increasing the compressive strength of the boxes.
[0049] According to one possible characteristic, said carton is a carton treated against moisture.
[0050] The use of cardboard that has undergone moisture treatment makes it possible to further increase the resistance time of a box in a humid and / or greasy environment.
[0051] According to one possible characteristic, said carton is a tightly laminated carton.
[0052] The use of tightly laminated cardboard further increases the resistance time of a crate in humid and / or greasy environments.
[0053] According to one possible feature, said case is formed from a blank, said blank comprising at least one flap from which said at least one corner reinforcement is formed.
[0054] A single blank then makes it possible to make a box equipped with at least one corner reinforcement.
[0055] In this case, said at least one flap from which said at least one corner reinforcement is formed may extend in the continuation of an edge on one side of said box which extends orthogonally to said bottom.
[0056] In this case also, said at least one flap from which said at least one corner reinforcement is formed may extend in the continuation of an edge on one side of said box which extends parallel to said bottom.
[0057] According to one possible feature, said body is formed from a body blank, and said at least one corner reinforcement is formed from a corner reinforcement blank, said body blank and said corner reinforcement blank being distinct from each other.
[0058] The casing and at least one corner reinforcement are then formed from separate blanks.
[0059] The blanks, whether they allow the shaping of a box, at least one corner reinforcement or both at the same time, can preferably be stored flat to facilitate their storage, transport and shaping, for example directly at the end user's premises.
[0060] The invention also covers a blank for the production of a box according to any one of the above variants, said blank comprising a quadrangular base portion extended on each of its four sides by a side flap, at least one of said side flaps being extended by a corner reinforcement flap, said corner reinforcement flap comprising at least one corner reinforcement wall and a base end intended to be oriented towards said base and to be folded at 180° in a direction opposite to said base against said corner reinforcement wall.
[0061] The invention also covers an assembly of a body side panel and a corner reinforcement side panel for the production of a body and a corner reinforcement, in which: - said side panel of the box comprises at least a portion of a quadrangular base extended on each of its four sides by a side flap, - said corner reinforcement side comprises at least one corner reinforcement wall and a bottom end intended to be oriented towards said bottom and to be bent at 180° in a direction opposite to said bottom against said corner reinforcement wall.
[0062] According to one possible feature, said bottom end intended to be folded at 180° from said wall, said at least one corner reinforcement comprises two free lateral edges, said free lateral edges each being intended to be folded at 180° against said wall along a folding line inclined with respect to said bottom in the direction of an end of said box opposite said bottom.
[0063] The invention also covers a method of shaping a box according to any of the above variants from a blank or set of blanks, said method comprising at least one step of folding said bottom end at 180° in a direction opposite said bottom against said corner reinforcement wall.
[0064] According to one possible variant, said method includes a step of folding said free edges of said bottom end at 180° against said wall along a folding line inclined with respect to said bottom in the direction of an end of said box opposite said bottom. 5. Description of the figures

[0080] 6. Description of particular embodiments
[0081] 6.1. Bending of the ends of the corner reinforcements 6.1.1. Flat corner reinforcements
[0082] In relation to figures 2 to 7, an embodiment of a box according to the invention is presented in which the corner reinforcements are formed flat.
[0083] The box and blank shapes shown below are illustrative, and other box and blank shapes may be used to form flat corner reinforcements.
[0084] In this embodiment, each of the four corners of the box includes a corner reinforcement located at the junction between two consecutive sides. In variations, at least one of the corners has a corner reinforcement. Thus, the box may include one, two, three, or four corner reinforcements. When two corner reinforcements are used, they are preferably located at two diametrically opposed corners. i. Flan
[0085] Fig. 2 illustrates a flat blank 2 for making a box.
[0086] As represented, such a flan 2 comprises: - a quadrangular 20-section base; - four side flaps 21, 22, 23, 24; - four corner reinforcement flaps 25.
[0087] Each side flap 21, 22, 23, 24 extends in line with an edge 200 of the bottom portion 20.
[0088] The corner reinforcement flaps 25 extend over two opposite edges 210, 230 of two opposite side flaps 21, 23, which are not edges 200 connected to the bottom portion 20.
[0089] Thus, in this embodiment, only two side flaps 21, 23 are extended by corner reinforcement flaps 25. According to variants, each of the four side flaps 21, 22, 23, 24 may be extended by a single corner reinforcement flap 25.
[0090] The corner reinforcement flaps 25 each comprise: - a single corner reinforcement wall 250, and - a bottom end 251 oriented towards the inside of the side 2.
[0091] As will be described in more detail later, each bottom end 251 is intended to be folded down 180° in a direction opposite to the bottom portion 20 against the corner reinforcement wall 250 to which it is attached.
[0092] Each corner reinforcement wall 250 is intended to extend parallel to a side of the case consecutive to the side from which it extends, and to be secured to that consecutive side, as will be described in more detail later.
[0093] Each bottom end 251 extends all the way along the corner reinforcement wall 250 from which it extends.
[0094] The blank 2 is monobloc, i.e. it forms only one piece. The joining lines between the different portions are folding or cutting lines.
[0095] As will be described in more detail later, the blank is made of cardboard, ii. Shaping of the box
[0096] The shaping of a box from a blank 2, such as the one just described, is obtained for example in the following way.
[0097] First, a blank 2 such as that in [Fig.2] must be obtained. The flat blank is then folded to shape the case.
[0098] More specifically, initially, a folding step is performed on the bottom ends 251 of the corner reinforcement flaps 25 attached to the side flap 23. The bottom ends 251 are folded at 180° against the inner face of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250, which will be oriented towards the inside of the crate. This folding could also be performed against the outer face of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250, which will be oriented towards the outside of the crate. In [Fig. 3], one of these two bottom ends 251 is shown folded in this way.
[0099] Prior to folding one end of the base 251, it is glued to the face intended to be applied against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250. Alternatively, the gluing can be carried out on the corner reinforcement wall 250.
[0100] The corner reinforcement flaps 25, whose bottom end 251 has been folded, are then folded at a right angle, relative to the side flap 23 to which they are attached, on the side of the face of the bottom portion 20 which will be inside the box, to form the corresponding corner reinforcements (corner reinforcement formation step).
[0101] In the example illustrated in [Fig.4], the two corner reinforcement flaps 25 of the side flap 23, whose bottom ends 251 have been folded at 180°, are thus folded at a right angle.
[0102] The side flap 23, whose corner reinforcement flaps 25 have been folded, is then folded at a right angle to the bottom portion 20 to form a side (side forming step), as shown in [Fig. 5]. This folding is carried out so that the corner reinforcements are inside the box and their edge at the bottom end fold is flush against the bottom 20.
[0103] The side flaps 22, 24, intended to be attached to the corner reinforcement walls 250 of the corner reinforcements 25 of the side flap 23, are folded at a right angle to the base portion 20 to fit against the corner reinforcement walls 251 of the corner reinforcements 25 of the side flap 23, as shown, for one of these side flaps 22, 24, in [Fig. 5]. Prior to this folding, the inner face of the side flaps 22, 24, intended to be attached to the corner reinforcements 25, is glued. Alternatively, the corner reinforcement walls 251 may be glued.
[0104] Alternatively, the flaps 22, 24 may be folded at a right angle to the bottom 20 prior to the flaps 21, 23 in such a way that the corner reinforcements are outside the case applied against the outward facing face of the flaps 22, 24.
[0105] The bottom ends 251 of the corner reinforcement flaps 25 attached to the side flap 21 are then folded at 180° against the face of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250 which will be oriented towards the inside of the box.
[0106] Prior to folding the bottom ends 251, these ends are glued on their face intended to be applied against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250. Alternatively, the corner reinforcement walls 250 will be glued.
[0107] The corner reinforcement walls 250 of the corner reinforcement flaps 25, whose bottom ends 251 have just been folded, are then folded at a right angle with respect to the side flap 21 to which they are attached in the direction of the face of the bottom portion 20 which will be inside the box.
[0108] Then, the side flap 21, whose corner reinforcement flaps 25 have just been folded, is in turn folded at a right angle to the bottom portion 20 so as to apply: - the walls 250 of the corner reinforcement flaps 25 against the inner faces of the side flaps 22, 24, and - the edge of the fold of the bottom ends 251 of the corner reinforcements against the bottom of the box.
[0109] Previously, the faces of the corner reinforcement walls 250 intended to be applied against the side flaps 22, 24 are glued, or alternatively the inner faces of the side flaps 22, 24.
[0110] Thus, we obtain the box shown in figures 6 and 7.
[0111] Such a case includes: - a fund consisting of the portion of the fund 20, - four sides formed by the side flaps 21, 22, 23, 24, and - four corner reinforcements made up of corner reinforcement flaps 25 and each placed at the junction between two consecutive sides of the box.
[0112] Each corner reinforcement 25 comprises a single corner reinforcement wall 250 which extends in the continuation of a side 21, 22, 23, 24 and which is attached to the side following that side, and whose bottom end 251 is folded back 180° against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250 in a direction opposite to the bottom 20.
[0113] Each corner reinforcement wall 250 extends orthogonally to the bottom 20, and each of the bottom ends 251 extends along the entire length of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 250.
[0114] In the embodiment just described, the bottom ends 251 of the corner reinforcement flaps 25 of a single side flap 23 are folded, then the corresponding corner reinforcement walls 250, then the corresponding side flap 23, then the consecutive sides 22, 24 to it are folded before finally the corner reinforcements 25 of the other side flap 23 are shaped.
[0115] In one variant, all the bottom ends 251 and then all the corner reinforcement walls 250 and then the side flaps 21, 23 to which they are attached could be folded before folding the subsequent side flaps 22, 24. 6.1.2. Cylindrical corner reinforcements
[0116] In another embodiment, illustrated in figures 8 and 9, the corner reinforcements may have a circular section in a plane parallel to the bottom of the box.
[0117] The box and blank shapes shown below are illustrative, and other box and blank shapes may be used to form circular section corner reinforcements.
[0118] In this embodiment, each of the four corners of the box includes a corner reinforcement located at the junction between two consecutive sides. In variations, at least one of the corners has a corner reinforcement. Thus, the box may include one, two, three, or four corner reinforcements. When two corner reinforcements are used, they are preferably located at two diametrically opposed corners.
[0119] In this case, the blank used to shape the box is identical to the blank of [Fig.2],
[0120] However, during the shaping of the box, after the bottom ends 251, the corner reinforcement walls 250 and the side flaps 21, 23 to which they are attached have been folded, the corner reinforcement flaps, i.e. the corner reinforcement walls 250 against which the bottom ends 251 are folded, are rolled around an axis orthogonal to the bottom portion 20 to form cylindrical corner reinforcements of circular section.
[0121] The peripheral contour of each corner reinforcement is then glued along a generatrix before the side flaps 22, 24 are in turn folded. Alternatively, the side flaps 22, 4 can be glued.
[0122] This results in a box with corner reinforcements as illustrated in [Fig.8].
[0123] Rather than gluing the corner reinforcements along a generatrix, it is possible to secure the corner reinforcement wall 250 to each corner reinforcement by means of a securing flap 252 provided for this purpose.
[0124] In this case, each corner reinforcement wall 250 is extended, on the side opposite to that provided in the extension of the side flap 21, 23 from which it extends, by a fastening flap 252 intended to be fastened to a side flap 22, 24 following the previous one.
[0125] Thus, after being rolled into a cylinder, each corner reinforcement wall 250 is extended by a fastening flap 252 against which the inner face of the adjacent side flap 22, 24 is applied after it has been folded, and to which the fastening flap 252 is bonded. This variant is illustrated in [Fig. 9]. 6.1.3. Corner reinforcements with a triangular cross-section
[0126] In relation to figures 10 to 15, an embodiment of a box according to the invention is presented, in which the corner reinforcements have a triangular section along a plane parallel to the bottom of the box.
[0127] The box and blank shapes shown below are illustrative, and other box and blank shapes may be used to form triangular-section corner reinforcements. Figures 25 and 26 illustrate examples of alternative corner reinforcements 250.
[0128] In this embodiment, each of the four corners of the box includes a corner reinforcement located at the junction between two consecutive sides. In variations, at least one of the corners has a corner reinforcement. Thus, the box may include one, two, three, or four corner reinforcements. When two corner reinforcements are used, they are preferably located at two diametrically opposed corners.
[0129] More generally, corner reinforcements may define, alone or with side flaps of the body, tubular elements of any section without their section necessarily defining a circle or a triangle. i. Flan
[0130] Fig. 10 illustrates a flat blank 3 for making a box.
[0131] As represented, such a flan 3 comprises: - a quadrangular 30-section base; - four side flaps 31, 32, 33, 34; - four corner reinforcement flaps 35.
[0132] Each side flap 31, 32, 33, 34 extends in line with an edge 300 of the bottom portion 30.
[0133] The corner reinforcement flaps 35 extend over two opposite edges 310, 330 of two opposite side flaps 31, 33, which are not edges 300 connected to the bottom portion 30.
[0134] Thus, in this embodiment, only two side flaps 31, 33 are extended by corner reinforcement flaps 35. According to variants, each of the four side flaps 31, 32, 33, 34 may be extended by a single corner reinforcement flap 35.
[0135] Each corner reinforcement flap 35 comprises: - a first corner reinforcement wall 350 formed in the extension of one of the side flaps 31, 33, the first wall 350 being intended to form a right angle with respect to the side flap 31, 33, and to be joined to a second side flap 32, 34, following the previous side flap 31, 33 when the box is formed; - a second corner reinforcement wall 351 formed in the extension of the first wall 350, this second wall 351 being intended to form an angle with respect to the first wall 350 in the direction of the side flap 31, 33 to which the first wall 350 is attached; - a third corner reinforcement wall 352 formed in the extension of the second wall 351, and intended to be joined to the side flap 31, 33 to which the first wall 350 is attached.
[0136] The corner reinforcement walls are thus provided along the same axis.
[0137] Each of the first 350, second 351 and third 352 walls has a bottom end 353, 354, 355 oriented towards the inside of the side 3, intended to be folded down 180° in a direction opposite to the bottom 30 against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352.
[0138] Each bottom end 353, 354, 355 extends along the entire length of the corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352 from which it extends.
[0139] The blank 3 is monobloc, i.e. it forms only one piece. The joining lines between the different portions are folding or cutting lines.
[0140] As will be described in more detail later, the flan is made of cardboard.
[0141] In one variant, the flap 35 will consist solely of the walls 350 and 351, the (wall 351 being glued back onto wall 350). In this case, the section of the flap will not be triangular. ii. Formatting
[0142] The shaping of a box from a blank 3, such as the one just described, is obtained for example in the following manner.
[0143] First, a blank 3 such as that in [Fig. 10] must be obtained. The flat blank is then folded to shape the box.
[0144] More specifically, initially, a folding step is performed on the bottom ends 353, 354, 355 of the corner reinforcement flaps 35 attached to the side flap 33. The bottom ends 353, 354, 355 are folded at 180° against the inner face of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352, which will be oriented towards the inside of the box. In [Fig. 11], these six bottom ends 353, 354, 355 are shown folded in this way. In an alternative, the bottom ends 353, 354, 355 can be folded at 180° against the outer face of the corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352.
[0145] Prior to folding one end of the base 353, 354, 355, it is glued to the face intended to be applied against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352. Alternatively, the corner reinforcement wall is glued.
[0146] The first portions 350 of the corner reinforcement flaps 35 whose bottom ends 353 have been folded are then folded at a right angle, relative to the side flap 33 to which they are attached, on the side of the face of the bottom portion which will be inside the box.
[0147] In the example illustrated in [Fig. 12], the two corner reinforcement walls 350 whose bottom ends 353 have been bent at 180° are thus bent at a right angle.
[0148] The second walls 351 are folded relative to the first portions 350 in the direction of the side flank 33.
[0149] The third walls 352 are applied against the face which will be oriented towards the inside of the side of the body 33.
[0150] Prior to this application, glue is deposited between the third wall 352 and the side flap 33. In [Fig. 12], the wall 351 forms an angle with the wall 350. However, in an alternative, the wall 351 could be applied against the wall 350. The corner reinforcement would then not have a triangular cross-section.
[0151] Thus, the two corner reinforcements are formed at the ends of the side flap 33 as shown in [Fig. 12].
[0152] The side flap 33, whose corner reinforcement flaps 25 have been folded, is then folded at a right angle to the base portion 30 to form a side (side forming step), as shown in [Fig. 13]. This folding is carried out so that the corner reinforcements are inside the box and the edge of the fold at their end points is flush against the base.
[0153] The side flaps 32, 34, intended to be attached to the folded corner reinforcement flaps 35 of the side flap 33, are folded at a right angle to the base portion 30 to come into contact with the first walls of the corner reinforcements 350 of the corner reinforcements 35 of the side flap 33, as shown, for one of these side flaps 32, 34, in [Fig. 13]. Prior to this folding, the inner face of the side flaps 32, 34, intended to be attached to the first walls 350 of the corner reinforcements 35, is glued, or alternatively, the face facing outwards from the walls of the corner reinforcements 350.
[0154] The bottom ends 353, 354, 355 of the corner reinforcement flaps 35 attached to the side flap 31 are folded at 180° against the inner face of the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352 which will be oriented towards the inside of the case.
[0155] Prior to folding one end of the base 353, 354, 355, it is glued to the face intended to be applied against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352. Alternatively, the walls 350, 351, 352 can be glued.
[0156] The first portions 350 of the corner reinforcement flaps 35 whose bottom ends 353 have been folded are then folded at a right angle, relative to the side flap 31 to which they are attached, on the side of the face of the bottom portion which will be inside the box.
[0157] The second walls 351 are folded relative to the first walls 350 in the direction of the side flank 31.
[0158] The third walls 352 are applied against the face which will be oriented towards the inside of the side of the body 31.
[0159] Prior to this application, glue is deposited between the third wall 352 and the side flap 31.
[0160] Thus, the two corner reinforcements are formed at the ends of the side flap 31.
[0161] The side flap 31, whose corner reinforcement flaps 35 have been folded, is then folded at a right angle to the base portion 30 to form a side (side forming step). This folding is carried out so that the corner reinforcements are located inside the case. Thus, the outward-facing face of the first portions 350 is in contact with the inward-facing face of the side flaps 33, 34.
[0162] Prior to this folding, glue is applied between the first walls 350 and the side flaps 32, 34.
[0163] Thus, we obtain the box shown in figures 14 and 15.
[0164] Such a case includes: - a fund consisting of the portion of the fund 30, - four sides formed by the side flaps 31, 32, 33, 34, and - four corner reinforcements, each positioned at the junction between two sides consecutive.
[0165] The corner reinforcements have a triangular section along a plane parallel to the bottom and extend orthogonally to the bottom.
[0166] Each corner reinforcement comprises: - a first corner reinforcement wall 350 formed in the extension of a side 31, 33 and forming a right angle with respect to this side 31, 33, a second side 32, 34, following the previous side 31, 33, being joined to the first wall 350; - a second corner reinforcement wall 351 formed in the extension of the first wall 350, the second wall 351 forming an angle with respect to the first wall 350 in the direction of side 31, 33 in the extension of which the first portion 350 is formed; - a third corner reinforcement wall 352 formed in the extension of the second wall 351 and attached to the side 31, 33 in the extension of which is formed the first portion 350.
[0167] Each of the first 350, second 351 and third 352 walls has a bottom end 353, 354, 355 oriented towards the bottom side 30, this bottom end 353, 354, 355 being folded back 180° with respect to the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352, in a direction opposite to the bottom 30, along the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352.
[0168] The bottom ends 353, 354, 355 extend all along the corresponding corner reinforcement wall 350, 351, 352.
[0169] In the embodiment just described, the bottom ends 353, 354, 355 of the corner reinforcement flaps 35 of a single side flap 33 are folded, then the corresponding corner reinforcement walls 350, 351, 352, then the corresponding side flap 33, then the consecutive sides 32, 34 to it are folded before finally the corner reinforcements 35 of the other side flap 31 are shaped.
[0170] In one variant, all the bottom ends 353, 354, 355 and then all the corner reinforcement walls 350, 351, 352 and then the side flaps 31, 33 to which they are attached could be folded before folding the subsequent side flaps 32, 34.
[0171] Herein, a corner reinforcement is said to have a triangular section insofar as one of its walls delimits a triangle with two sides of the box seen in a plane parallel to the bottom of the box.
[0172] In the illustrated example, the side of the triangle formed by the angle reinforcement with two sides of the box is right in a plane parallel to the bottom of the box.
[0173] In variants, such as that illustrated in [Fig. 27], the side of the triangle formed by the corner reinforcement with two sides of the casing will be curved, in a plane parallel to the bottom of the casing, either inwards or outwards. This implementation makes it possible to significantly increase the compressive strength of the casing along a plane orthogonally to the bottom of the casing.
[0174] 6.2. Jointing of the ends of the corner reinforcements
[0175] Another embodiment of a box is described in relation to Figures 16 and 17 in which the sealing of the junction between the bottom of the box and the bottom end of the corner reinforcements is ensured by a seal. i. Flan
[0176] The blanks that can be used in this embodiment can be identical to those of the different embodiments described above, except that the corner reinforcements do not include a bottom end folded at 180° to ensure the sealing of the corner reinforcement at its junction with the bottom of the box.
[0177] According to a different approach, the sealing of the junction between the corner reinforcement and the bottom of the case is ensured by a seal.
[0178] This seal is interposed between the bottom of the case and each corner reinforcement. It could, for example, be a silicone seal or other type of sealant. This seal extends along the entire end edge of the corner reinforcement in contact with the bottom of the case. ii. Formatting
[0179] When shaping a crate, the sealing joints between the end edge of each of the corner reinforcements and the bottom of the crate can be affixed in two different ways.
[0180] According to a first method, illustrated in [Fig. 16], the seals 4 are placed on the surface of the bottom of the crate before the side flaps, at the ends of which the corner reinforcements are previously formed, are folded at right angles to the bottom of the crate, so that at the end of this folding, the end edge of each of the corner reinforcements comes into contact, along its entire length, with the corresponding seal previously placed on the bottom of the crate.
[0181] According to a second approach, illustrated in [Fig. 17], the corner reinforcements are formed at the ends of the corresponding side flaps and then the joints 4 are deposited all the along the end edge of each of the corner reinforcements. The side flaps carrying the corner reinforcements are then folded at a right angle to the bottom of the box so that, after this folding, the seal previously placed along the end edge of each of the corner reinforcements is compressed between this edge and the bottom of the box. 6.4. Variants
[0182] 6.4.1. Corner reinforcement on the edge opposite the bottom of a side flap
[0183] In the embodiments, and their variants, which have just been described, the Corner reinforcements are made from one or more walls located in the extension of an edge of a side flap, this edge being orthogonal to the bottom, when the box is shaped.
[0184] In variants illustrated in figures 18 and 19, the corner reinforcements are made from one or more walls located in the extension of an edge of a side flap, this edge being parallel to the bottom, and opposite to the edge attached to the bottom, when the box is shaped.
[0185] In the illustrated variant, the corner reinforcements have a triangular cross-section. In other variants, they could be flat, have a circular cross-section, or otherwise.
[0186] In the illustrated embodiment, each corner reinforcement flap 45 comprises a first 450 and a second 451 wall connected by a fold line. Each wall 450, 451 includes a bottom end 452, 453 designed to be folded 180° against the corresponding wall 450, 451 in a direction opposite to the bottom 40 of the box when the latter is formed. The edge of each wall 450 opposite to the one connected to the corresponding wall 451 is connected by a fold line to a connecting wall 46, which also has a bottom end 47 designed to be folded 180° against the connecting wall 46 in a direction opposite to the bottom 40 of the box when the latter is formed. The edge of the connecting wall 46 opposite that linked to the bottom end 47 is connected by a fold line to the edge of the corresponding side flap 43, 41 opposite the edge of this flap linked to the bottom 40.
[0187] When the box is formed (see [Fig. 19]): - the connecting portions 46 are applied against the inner face of the corresponding side flaps 41, 43; - the walls 450 form an angle with respect to the corresponding connecting wall 46; - the walls 451 are applied against the corresponding side flaps 42, 44; - the bottom ends 47, 452, 453 are bent at 180° against the connecting walls 46 or corresponding walls 450, 451.
[0188] In variants, the corner reinforcement flaps 45 could be individually connected to a side flap of the case without implementing a connecting portion 46.
[0189] 6.4.2. Body side panel and corner reinforcement side panel
[0190] In the embodiments and their variants just described, the body and the corner reinforcements are formed from the same blank. In other words, the various flaps and walls constituting the body and the corner reinforcements belong to the same blank.
[0191] In some variations, a body side panel can be used to shape the body and one or more corner reinforcement side panels can be used to shape the corner reinforcements. These body side panels and corner reinforcement side panels are independent. Then, once shaped separately, the corner reinforcements are assembled to the body to form a corner-reinforced body.
[0192] In the example illustrated in figures 19 to 23, the box blank classically allows the shaping of a box comprising at least a bottom 50 and four sides 51, 52, 53, 54.
[0193] A corner reinforcement blank allows here the creation of two corner reinforcements. In variants, each corner reinforcement blank allows the creation of one corner reinforcement.
[0194] The corner reinforcements formed here have a triangular cross-section. In variations, they could be flat, circular, or otherwise.
[0195] Each corner reinforcement here comprises a central portion 55 extended on two opposite sides by two corner reinforcement walls 56, 57 linked together by a fold line.
[0196] The walls 55, 56, 57 include a bottom end 550, 560, 570 intended to be bent at 180°, in a direction opposite to the bottom 50 of the box when it is being shaped, against the corresponding wall 55, 56, 57.
[0197] When the corner reinforcement sides allow the realization of a single corner reinforcement and not a pair of corner reinforcements, as illustrated, the central portion is split in two.
[0198] To produce a reinforced body, a body is formed from a body side panel. Simultaneously, the corner reinforcements are formed from the corner reinforcement side panels.
[0199] To achieve this, the bottom ends 550, 560, 570 are bent at 180° against the corresponding walls 55, 56, 57. Then, the walls 56 are bent relative to the central wall 55 and the walls 57 are bent relative to the walls 56 in such a way that, when the corner reinforcement blank is inserted into the box, the wall 55 is flush against the corresponding side flap 52, 54, and the walls 57 are flush against the corresponding side flaps 51, 53. In this case, the wall 56 forms a triangle with the side flaps 52 and 53 in a plane parallel to the bottom 50.
[0200] Here, since each corner reinforcement blank allows for the shaping of two corner reinforcements, two corner reinforcement blanks are required. If each reinforcement blank The angle allows for the shaping of a single angle reinforcement; four angle reinforcement blanks are required.
[0201] 6.4.3. Folding of the ends of the free edges of the bottom ends of the reinforcements angle
[0202] We now describe a feature that can be optionally implemented in each of the embodiments and their variants described above.
[0203] According to this feature, the bottom end of the corner reinforcement wall, folded at 180°, comprises one or two free lateral edges. These lateral edges are neither the edge connected to the corresponding corner reinforcement wall nor the edge opposite it.
[0204] This or these free edges, when the body and the corner reinforcements are shaped, can be a point of vulnerability insofar as liquid, contained in the body, can impregnate them and thus weaken the corner reinforcements and therefore the body.
[0205] To remedy this, according to this optional variant, these free side edges are each folded 180° against the corresponding corner reinforcement wall along a fold line inclined relative to the bottom of the crate towards an end of the crate opposite the bottom of the crate.
[0206] In this way, the free edge(s) of a corner reinforcement are offset from the bottom of the container towards the top of the container. This prevents the free edge(s) of the corner reinforcement(s) from coming into contact with the liquid in the bottom of the container, and eliminates, or at least greatly reduces, the risk of liquid laterally obstructing the free edge(s) of a corner reinforcement.
[0207] This implementation makes it possible to greatly strengthen the compressive strength of the casing in a direction orthogonal to its bottom.
[0208] In the example of [Fig.20], the bottom end 570 of the corner reinforcement walls 57 have a free edge 5700, i.e., the one that is not connected to the bottom end of the walls 56. This free edge 5700 is connected to the wall 57 by a fold line inclined with respect to the edge of the bottom end 570 opposite to that connected to the wall 57. The inclination of the fold line is in the direction of the end of the wall 57 opposite to that connected to the bottom end 570, i.e., in the direction of the top of the box.
[0209] As illustrated, the free edge 5700 is connected to the bottom end 57 by a cutting line. In this case, after the bottom end has been folded 180° against the wall 57, the free edge 5700 is folded 180° against the bottom end 570 and the wall 57.
[0210] However, to further prevent liquid from impregnating the lower part of the corner reinforcement, the cut line between the free edge 5700 and the bottom end 570 can be replaced by a beach line. This eliminates the interruption between the free edge 5700 and the bottom end 570, thus limiting the liquid impregnation channels in the corner reinforcement, the free edge(s) of its lower end being raised relative to the bottom of the box.
[0211] To further prevent liquid from impregnating the lower part of the corner reinforcement, the free edge 5700 can be connected to the bottom end 570 by a connecting portion 60, as illustrated in [Fig. 24]. This connecting portion 60 is connected on one side to the bottom end 570 by a fold line 61 and on the other side to the free edge 5700 by a fold line 62. This connecting portion 60 thus forms a bellows with the corresponding bottom end 570 and free edge 5700.
[0212] In variants, the bellows can be connected to the bottom end 570 and the free edge 5700 by more than two fold lines.
[0213] During the shaping of the corner reinforcement, the bottom end 570 is folded 180° against the wall 57, which induces a fold between the connecting area 60 and the bottom end 570. Then, the free edge 5700 is folded 180° against the wall 57, which induces a fold of the free edge 5700 relative to the connecting portion 60, which are then sandwiched between the bottom end 570 and the free edge 5700.
[0214] 6.4.4. Continuous bottom end without interruption
[0215] When a corner reinforcement comprises several walls having a bottom end intended to be folded back 180° according to the principle of the invention, the consecutive bottom ends of the consecutive walls of the corner reinforcement are preferably continuous. They are therefore not separated from each other by cutting lines but are joined and, where appropriate, connected by folding lines.
[0216] This prevents the bottom ends from being impregnated by their edges with liquid contained in the crate. 6.5. Cardboard Composition
[0217] The cardboard composing the blanks according to the invention is made of solid cardboard comprising a core coated on both sides with a waterproof coating, in particular a PE film. It may, for example, be a "sapino®" quality cardboard or "hard-sized" or "fully-sized carton".
[0218] Preferably, the cardboard will be tightly laminated.
[0219] Preferably, the cardboard will be treated against moisture.
[0220] The compact cardboard may include a core: - impregnated with an additive preventing the absorption of water and / or grease into the core; - laminated on one side, facing inwards towards the said box, to form a barrier against grease; - covered with a waterproof coating on a second side opposite the first side, i.e. on the side facing outwards from the box.

[0232] Moisture treatment and tight lamination reduce porosity between fibers and limit the spread of water between fibers. The waterproof coating on the outer faces prevents water from wetting the cardboard surfaces. Moisture treatment and tight lamination reduce porosity between fibers and limit the spread of water between fibers. The waterproof coating preferably belongs to the group comprising: - films made of plastic material, particularly PE; - the paintings; - nail polishes. The core of the compact cardboard can be a grey core made of recycled cardboard and / or recycled paper. This cardboard is preferably recyclable, especially of type Pap81. 6.6. Trials and Advantages According to the invention, sealing the junction between the end edge of the corner reinforcements and the bottom of the crate significantly increases the maintenance over time of the mechanical properties of the crate, and particularly its resistance to compression, including when the crate is used for the storage and transport of fresh products such as fish. This is true both when the seal is achieved by folding the bottom end of the corner reinforcements 180° and when it is achieved by placing a gasket at the junction between the bottom edge of the corner reinforcements and the bottom of the box. However, the 180° folding (flipping) solution is more advantageous as it is easier to implement and does not lead to recycling complications like the joint solution can. Comparative tests were carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the invention. These tests highlighted that a crate according to the invention, containing fish and ice, could withstand compression for more than 6 days, whereas a crate with conventional corner reinforcements could withstand compression for a few hours at worst and two days at best. These tests are presented in Table 1 below. [Tab 1] Overlapping cardboard box dimensions (H, W, D) weight section corner reinforcement compression load box resistance time Without 180° folding of the bottom end, Compact, PE coated on both sides, 400x300x120, 1250 g / m², Cylindrical corner reinforcement, 40 mm diameter, 200 kg, 2 hours. Without 180° folding of the bottom end, Compact, PE coated on both sides, moisture-resistant, tightly rolled, 400x300x120, 1250 g / m², Cylindrical corner reinforcement, 40 mm diameter, 200 kg, 2 days. With 180° folding of the bottom end, Compact, PE coated on both sides, moisture-resistant, tightly rolled, 400x300x120, 1250 g / m², Cylindrical corner reinforcement, 40 mm diameter. Diameter 200 kg Greater than 6 days
[0233] During these tests, the crates were immersed from their bottom in 10 millimeters of water.
[0234] The results are even better when the free edge(s) of the bottom ends of the corner reinforcements are also folded back 180° along an inclined folding line to raise the end(s) of this or these free edge(s) from the bottom of the box. 6.7. Other variants
[0235] The different embodiments and their variants can be combined with each other.
[0236] In a conventional way, a person skilled in the art will know how to glue together the cardboard walls that require it, in order to assemble the boxes.
