Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: System for controlling the locking of a door leaf. Technical field.
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of equipment for openings, in particular of the window or French window type, usable in the building sector. It relates to the detection of locked or unlocked states of one or more sashes.
[0002] One application relates to casement windows or French windows, comprising at least one leaf mounted to rotate relative to a frame. STATE OF THE ART
[0003] Home automation technologies have enabled the development of new functionalities and services accessible to users. Thus, so-called smart openings are now available, that is to say, openings capable of providing information about their status, and in particular information about whether they are locked or unlocked.
[0004] A door closure comprising a lock and means for detecting whether the lock is locked or unlocked is known from patent publication WO 2018 / 220384 A1. More specifically, a switch of the toggle type includes a movable mechanical element for opening or closing an electrical detection circuit. This element is arranged in cooperation with the bolt of the lock, so as to transition from the open state of the circuit to the closed state of the circuit depending on its state of cooperation with the bolt. An electronic unit, including a transmitter, provides the locked or unlocked state information to a user equipped with a suitable receiver, in particular a smartphone equipped with a computer application dedicated to this home automation function.
[0005] This technique is generally satisfactory but requires locks specifically designed for this purpose. Furthermore, this solution is complex to install and repair.
[0006] An object of the present invention is therefore to propose a control system for locking a window or French window which can be more easily associated with a locking device.
[0007] The other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the examination of the following description and accompanying drawings. SUMMARY
[0008] To achieve this objective, according to one embodiment, a control system for a locking and unlocking system of a window sash relative to a window frame is provided, the locking system comprising a A locking roller at least partially formed of a ferromagnetic material, the locking roller being moved from an engaged position to an disengaged position when the locking and unlocking system moves from a locked position to an unlocked position, and vice versa. The system comprises: a. a support comprising a housing, a first end and a second end, the first end being intended to be placed opposite the locking roller of the locking and unlocking system, the first end being at least partially formed of a magnetic material, thus creating a magnetic attraction between the locking roller and the first end, such that a translation of the locking roller along a so-called locking direction causes a translation of the support in that same direction, b. a guide to be fixed to the window opening, the guide being suitable for receiving and guiding the second end of the support in translation according to the locking direction, c. a magnetic sensor housed in the support housing, d. a magnet, the magnetic sensor being configured to detect a information on its position relative to the magnet, thus allowing at least one of the locked and unlocked positions of the locking and unlocking system to be detected.
[0009] Thus, when a user changes the state of the locking system, thereby causing the roller to move, the magnetic sensor is also moved due to the magnetic attraction between it and the locking roller. The magnetic sensor consequently detects a change in its position relative to the magnet. This information allows the locking system to be determined.
[0010] A major advantage of the invention lies in its universality. Since the vast majority of rollers in door and French window locking systems are made of materials with ferromagnetic properties (often steel), the present invention can be used regardless of the locking system employed. It is not necessary to adapt the support to the shape of the roller, which varies from one model to another, to allow the magnetic sensor to be driven when the roller is moved. This greatly simplifies the manufacture of the device and its installation on a window.
[0011] Furthermore, the system according to the invention is very compact and does not require the removal of any elements of the locking system in order to be added to the sash. One approach would have been to replace one of the locking strikes fixed to the window frame with a control system. This would have had the major drawback of reducing the robustness of the locking mechanism. door, which is unacceptable. The system according to the invention does not require such a replacement. It is simply added against the locking rod of the door leaf and held in place by magnetic attraction and by the guide fixed to the door leaf.
[0012] Thus, the present invention proposes a universal, simple to install and compact solution, allowing efficient detection of the state of a locking system.
[0013] A second aspect of the invention relates to a window comprising an opening, a fixed frame, a locking and unlocking system for the opening relative to the fixed frame of the window, the locking system comprising a locking roller at least partially formed of a ferromagnetic material, and a control system for the locking and unlocking system according to the first aspect of the invention.
[0014] A third aspect of the invention relates to a method for installing the control system according to the first aspect of the invention, comprising the following steps: a. Attach the guide to the window opening, b. Insert the magnetic sensor into the housing of the support, c. Insert the second end of the bracket into the guide and position the first end of the bracket opposite the locking roller, thus creating a magnetic attraction between the first end and the locking roller. d. attach a magnet to the opening or fixed part of the window.
[0015] The advantages described with reference to the control system according to the invention apply mutatis mutandis to the window and the method according to the second and third aspects of the invention respectively. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0031] Before proceeding with a detailed review of embodiments of the invention, optional features that may be used in combination or alternatively are listed below:
[0032] According to a preferred embodiment, the magnet is intended to be fixed to the window frame.
[0033] According to one example, the housing is an opening that passes completely through the support.
[0034] According to one example, the first end and the second end of the support are are found on either side of the accommodation.
[0035] According to a preferred embodiment, the magnetic sensor includes a communication system capable of emitting a signal containing information relating to the state of the locking and unlocking system.
[0036] According to a preferred embodiment, the first end has a shape such that when the first end of the support is placed opposite the locking roller, these two elements come into contact by magnetic attraction according to a linear or point contact area.
[0037] According to one example, the first end of the support has the shape of a cylindrical rod.
[0038] According to one example, the first end of the support has a diameter d2i of at least 3 mm.
[0039] According to one example, the first end of the support has a length L2i, measured along the locking direction with L2i greater than or equal to 10 mm, preferably greater than or equal to 12 mm.
[0040] The opening part of the window may be designated as the "leaf".
[0041] A coordinate system, preferably orthonormal, comprising the X, Y, and Z axes is shown in Figures IA in 1D, 2A, 3A, and 4A. The Z direction may be designated as the "vertical Z direction." The plane defined by the X and Z directions may be designated as the "principal XZ plane" or the "XZ window plane." The concepts of height and "top" and "bottom" of an element will be defined along the vertical Z direction, it being understood that the height along Z is greater the further one moves from the ground of the environment in which the system is located.
[0042] The present invention can be used to equip a window or French window, for example, made of aluminum, plastic, and / or wood. The invention is particularly advantageous for casement assemblies. Generally, a sash comprises a frame and a pane of one or more glazed surfaces. Two vertical frame elements, called mullions, are arranged on either side of the pane in a lateral direction. The other two frame elements are horizontally extending transoms.
[0043] The environment in which the system according to the invention is typically intended to be installed will first be described.
[0044] The system according to the invention is intended to control a locking and unlocking system for a window sash relative to a window frame. Such a locking system can be moved from a locked position, in which it prevents the window sash from opening relative to the frame, to an unlocked position, in which opening is permitted, and vice versa.
[0045] An example of such a locking mechanism involves at least one movable latching element mounted on the sash, capable of cooperating with a stop element on the corresponding sash of the frame. For example, the movable element may be a roller, which can engage with a complementary part of the frame in a locked position. This complementary part is typically a strike plate. In the In the unlocked position, the roller is disengaged from the strike plate, for example, because it is located in the center of the strike plate, in an area where no element of the strike plate obstructs its movement out of the plane of the window. In the locked position, the roller is engaged in the strike plate, for example, in a guide rail within the strike plate. Movement from the locked to the unlocked position and vice versa can be achieved by a translational movement along a direction called the locking direction 2, generally corresponding to the vertical direction Z. To ensure this translation, the roller is usually supported by a rod which is itself driven in translation by a control, for example, a handle. Of course, several rollers can be fitted to a sash, particularly to achieve multi-point locking depending on the sash's height.
[0046] In a completely conventional manner, the handle controlling the locking system is movable around an axis of rotation. This axis is typically perpendicular to the plane in which the opening is primarily located. The rotation of the handle causes the rod to translate, which in turn causes the roller to translate.
[0047] The roller can have various shapes: for example, it can be a mushroom-headed roller, a cylindrical roller, or a roller with a countersunk head. In the vast majority of cases, if not always, the roller is made of a ferromagnetic material. It is typically made of steel. Preferably, the area of the roller intended to cooperate with the magnetic part described below is cylindrical, with a circular cross-section. According to one possibility, the invention provides a roller having a non-ferromagnetic body coated, at least in the area intended to cooperate with the magnetic part, with a ferromagnetic covering (this can be a covering surrounding the roller body or a more localized element joined to the roller body, for example by bonding); thus, any roller locking device, even one originally non-ferromagnetic, can be equipped with the invention.
[0048] As explained above, the position of the roller is entirely linked to the locked or unlocked state of the locking system. The present invention exploits this, as well as the fact that the roller is made of a ferromagnetic material regardless of its shape, to control the locking of the window.
[0049] The control system according to the invention will now be described with reference to figures IA to 4C.
[0050] The system 1 first includes a support 20. The support 20 includes a first end 21 and a second end 22. Preferably, the first end 21 and the second end 22 are located on either side of the support 20.
[0051] The first end 21 is typically a rod, which can, for example, extend from the support 20. This rod 21 preferably extends mainly along the locking direction 2 when the system 1 is installed on the opening 100 of the The first end 21 has a length L2i along the locking direction. The first end typically has a cylindrical shape with its axis parallel to the locking direction 2. In the classic case of a first end 21 that is cylindrical and circular, its diameter d2i is defined in the plane perpendicular to the locking direction 2. d2 and L2 are preferably chosen so that the first end 21 has a volume of material that allows for a strong magnetic attraction with the roller 50. For example, d2i is preferably greater than or equal to 3 mm. L2i is preferably greater than or equal to 10 mm, and preferably greater than or equal to 12 mm.
[0052] The second end 22 has, for example, the shape of a blade or a tongue. It preferably extends mainly along the locking direction 2 when the system 1 is installed on the opening 100 of the window.
[0053] The support 20 further includes a housing 23 for receiving a magnetic sensor 30. The housing 23 is typically defined by a central part 24 of the support 20. The central part 24 of the support 20 preferably has an oblong shape, the main dimension of which extends along the locking direction 2.
[0054] The first end 21, the central part 24 and the second end 22 are preferably aligned along the locking direction 2.
[0055] According to an advantageous example illustrated in particular in [Fig.1B], the housing 23 goes completely through the support 20 in its thickness, that is to say it forms a hole opening into the support 20. This makes it easier to install the magnetic sensor 30 in the housing 23 and especially to remove it, for example in case of maintenance.
[0056] According to an alternative embodiment, the housing 23 does not completely pass through the support 20. A wall defined by the central part 24 then delimits the housing 23 so that it forms a blind hole in the support 20.
[0057] In both cases, the central portion 24 defines a closed contour in which the magnetic sensor 30 can be housed. Advantageously, the dimensions and shape of the housing 23 and those of the magnetic sensor 30 are configured such that inserting the magnetic sensor 30 into the housing 23 is sufficient to hold it in place. This eliminates the need for a cover to close the housing 23.
[0058] However, it is perfectly conceivable that the support 20 has a cover (not shown) configured to be able to close the housing 23. The cover can, for example, be clipped onto the central part 24. The cover can thus serve to hold the magnetic sensor 30 in the housing 23.
[0059] The first end 21 of the support is at least partly formed of a magnetic material (for example: iron, aluminum, nickel, or copper). The first end 21 is intended to be positioned opposite the roller of the locking system. described above. A magnetic attraction then appears between the roller and the first end 21. Thus, as will be described further, a translation of the roller due to locking or unlocking of the window causes the support 20 to move through the interaction between the roller and the first end 21.
[0060] The system 1 further includes a guide 40 to be fixed on the opening 100. This guide 40 has a shape and dimensions enabling it to receive and guide in translation the second end 22 of the support 20 when the latter moves in translation.
[0061] As illustrated in [Fig. 1C] in particular, thanks to the magnetic attraction between the roller 50 and the first end 21, it is not necessary for these two elements to be mechanically joined for the support 20 to be driven by the movement of the roller. In practice, the roller 50 and the first end 21 are simply in contact, or even simply facing each other, without direct contact. The contact between the roller 50 and the first end 21 is typically made along a line of contact (for example, in the case of a cylindrical roller and a first end 21 with a flat tip 211, as illustrated in [Fig. 1C]) or at a point (for example, in the case of a cylindrical roller and a first end 21 with a convex tip 211, not shown).
[0062] The system 1 according to the invention further includes a magnet 31 which can be described as a reference magnet 31.
[0063] The reference magnet 31 can be placed on the window frame or on the window sash. When fixed to the sash, it is positioned so that it is not driven by the locking system or by the bracket 20. It thus remains stationary in the frame's reference frame. Whether the reference magnet 31 is placed on the sash or the frame, it is detected by the magnetic sensor 30 carried by the bracket 20. The sensor 30 is configured to detect information relating to its distance from the reference magnet 31. When the locking system is in the locked position, the magnetic sensor 30 and the reference magnet 31 are typically closer than when the locking system is in the unlocked position. It is therefore possible, from the detection of the reference magnet 31 by the magnetic sensor 30, to determine the state—locked or unlocked—of the locking system.
[0064] It is preferable that the reference magnet 31 be placed on the window frame. Indeed, it is possible that the user may place the locking system in the locked position while the window is open, that is, when the sash is not aligned with the frame. In such a case, although the locking system is in the locked position, the window is not actually locked. Based on Based solely on information relating to the movement of roller 50, it is therefore possible to erroneously conclude that the window is properly locked.
[0065] By placing the reference magnet 31 on the window frame, this problem is solved: the magnetic sensor 30 will detect the reference magnet 31 more or less effectively depending on whether the window is closed or not (i.e., whether the sash is in the window frame). In particular, when the window is wide open, the signal detected by the magnetic sensor 30 is very weak or even zero, which is interpreted as an open window state. It is then possible to conclude that the window is not locked, regardless of the state of the locking system. Errors are therefore considerably reduced or even eliminated.
[0066] Furthermore, it is possible to detect more than two window states. For example, in addition to a "locked" and an "unlocked" state, it is possible to detect a ventilation state in which the sash 100 is positioned in a ventilation position, commonly referred to as a tilt-up opening. This is possible because the positioning of the sash in this third position is always conditional upon the positioning of the locking system—and therefore of the roller 50—in a position distinct from the locked and unlocked positions. It is therefore possible to read this third position of the roller 50 using the magnetic sensor 30, exactly as for the other two positions.
[0067] The kinematics of system 1 according to the invention and its environment will now be described in more detail with reference to Figures 2A to 4C. Figures 2A to 2C illustrate in particular the displacement of the support 20 of system 1 under the effect of the displacement of the roller 50 of the window locking system. These figures respectively show a configuration in which the locking system is locked, one in which the locking system is unlocked, and one in which the locking system allows the tilting sash to be positioned. Figures 3A to 3C show the relative position of the magnetic sensor 30 and the reference magnet 31 in each of these three configurations. Finally, Figures 4A to 4C illustrate the position of the window handle in these same three configurations.
[0068] Figures 2A, 3A, and 4A illustrate the situation when the locking system is in the locked position. The locked position is obtained by positioning the handle in a locking control position. Typically, when the handle is in the locking control position, it forms a control angle α of approximately 0° (see [Fig. 4A]). The control angle α is measured in the plane of the door leaf, relative to the vertical direction Z. In this configuration, the roller 50 is engaged in the strike plate 51 (see [Fig. 2A]) fixed to the frame (not shown). The roller 50 is then said to be in its engaged position. Due to the magnetic attraction between the roller 50 and the first end 21 of the support 20, the latter is in a first position Pb In this position Pb the second end 22 is only slightly or not engaged in the guide 40. As illustrated in [Fig.3A], in this position Pb the center of the magnetic sensor 30 can be, depending on the locking direction, above the reference magnet 31.
[0069] Figures 2B, 3B, and 4B illustrate the situation when the locking system is in the unlocked position. The locked position is obtained by positioning the handle in a locking control position. Typically, when the handle is in the unlocking control position, it forms a control angle α of approximately 90° (see [Fig. 4B]). In this configuration, the roller 50 is disengaged from the strike plate 51 fixed to the frame (see [Fig. 2B]). The roller 50 is then said to be in its disengaged position. When the locking system moves from the locked to the unlocked position, the roller 50 acts on the support not only by magnetic attraction but also by mechanical drive: the roller 50 pushes the support 20 in the locking direction. At this point, the second end 22 engages slightly further in the guide 40. The support 20 thus ends up in a second position P2.As illustrated in [Fig.3B], in this second position P2, the center of the magnetic sensor 30 can be, depending on the locking direction, at the same level as the reference magnet 31.
[0070] Figures 2C, 3C, and 4C illustrate the situation when the locking system is in the ventilation position. The ventilation position is obtained by positioning the handle in a ventilation control position. Typically, when the handle is in the ventilation control position, it forms a control angle α of approximately 180° (see [Fig. 4C]). In this configuration, the roller 50 is typically disengaged from the strike plate 51 fixed to the frame (see [Fig. 2C]). When the locking system moves from the unlocked position to the ventilation position, the roller 50 acts on the support not only by magnetic attraction but also by mechanical drive: the roller 50 pushes the support 20 in the locking direction. At this time, the second end 22 engages a little further in the guide 40. The support 20 thus ends up in a third position P3. As illustrated in [Fig.3B], in this third position P3, the center of the magnetic sensor 30 can be located, depending on the locking direction, below the reference magnet 31.
[0071] When the handle has moved from the control position to the unlocked position, and / or from the unlocked position to the locked position,
[0072] Thus, for each position of the roller 50, and therefore for each position Pb P2, P3 of the support 0, the magnetic sensor 30 is in a different position relative to the reference magnet 31. The signal received by the magnetic sensor 30 thus provides information on the state of the window locking system. In the advantageous embodiment where the reference magnet 31 is placed on the window frame, this information takes into account whether the window is closed.
[0073] The paragraphs above describe an operation in which the support 20 is positioned in the path of the roller 50 when the locking system moves from the locked position to the unlocked position and then to the venting position (in the figures, below the roller 50). It is understood, however, that the support 20 could be installed on the other side of the roller 50 along the locking direction 2, that is, in the path traveled by the roller 50 when it moves from the venting position to the unlocked position and then to the locked position. The support 20 would then be driven mechanically, in addition to by magnetic attraction, in the locking direction rather than in the unlocking direction.
[0074] Advantageously, the system according to the invention allows this information to be communicated to a remote receiver. Typically, the magnetic sensor 30 includes a communication system capable of transmitting a signal containing information about the state of the locking and unlocking system to the remote receiver. The remote receiver can, for example, be a central unit receiving information about the state of the locking systems of various windows or French doors in a dwelling or building. This central unit is advantageously configured to relay this information to a computer application, for example, available on a smartphone, allowing the user to know the locking status of the sash, and possibly other sashes in the dwelling or building. The magnetic sensor can potentially send information directly to the information application, without going through a central unit.
[0075] It is conceivable that the information sent by the magnetic sensor 30 is raw information (for example information relating to a detected electromagnetic signal), which will then be analyzed by a remote computing system to obtain information on the state of the locking system, or processed information (for example directly information on the locking state).
[0076] Another aspect of the invention relates to a window equipped with a locking and unlocking system and a control system 1 as described above. It may also be a French window.
[0077] Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for installing the control system 1. This method comprises the following steps: a. Fix guide 40 onto the opening 100 of the window, b. Insert the magnetic sensor 30 into the slot 23 of the support 20, c. Insert the second end 22 of the support 20 into the guide 40 and Position the first end 21 of the support 20 opposite the locking roller 50, d. fix a magnet 31 on the opening 100 or the fixed part of the window.
[0078] These steps can be carried out in any order.
[0079] Through the different embodiments described above, it is clear that the invention offers a universal, practical and compact solution for controlling a locking system for a window or French window.
[0080] The invention is not limited to the embodiments previously described and extends to all embodiments covered by the invention.
