Abstract

A method of producing a 3D effect with 2D images. Firstly, an initial depth prediction and moving trajectory information of an object in the images are extracted 101 - 103. The monotonic directional trajectory, or a change in the movement of the object such as a change in direction may also be collected. The moving item in the images may be identified by, for example, semantically segmenting to track the moving target. Following this, a correction of the initial depth prediction is performed according to the trajectory information to create an altered depth prediction of the moving object 104 which produces a three-dimensional effect output 105. Furthermore, a third depth prediction of a non-moving object may be obtained from the images requiring the second depth prediction to generate the 3D effect (Fig. 4, 402).
