An adjustable chair

Abstract

An adjustable chair 10 comprising a seat 21 to support a seat occupant and a frame (14, figure 3), in which the seat is rotatably tiltable out of a lateral plane relative to the frame in an arc T having a radius R in any direction about a pivot point P which is vertically spaced above an upper surface S of the seat. Preferably, the seat is slidingly moveable in the lateral plane relative to the frame. Preferably, the seat is rotatably movable in the lateral plane relative to the frame. A method of positioning a pivot point of an adjustable chair relative to a seat occupant's spine comprising selecting a seat bowl 22 having a radius R which corresponds to a pivot point P at a certain position relative to the seat occupant's spine, preferably above a certain position relative to the seat occupant's spine.
