This invention relates to a solution for preventing vehicle theft and vehicle cloning. It is the intention of the invention to make it far harder for thieves to steal cars and simply change number plates. Additionally, it is also the intention to reduce robberies whereby thieves steal cars and change number plates for use in a crime. This safety feature could have insurance benefits too in the same way in which vehicle alarms and immobilisers have reduced insurance costs. The idea of the invention is to have the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) displayed within the front and rear windscreens. We see this being executed in various ways depending on how the Police, DVLC, and glass manufacturers choose when in discussion with ourselves. The options, but not limited to, are: The VRN being laminated within the glass, The VRN being etched onto the glass, orthe VRN being displayed by way of lights. An optional feature that may be possible is to have the VRN QR coded, or similar, so the vehicle can be easily tracked by authorities.
