A container and a method of monitoring the opening or closing of a container

Abstract

The invention provides a container comprising: a body for storage of goods, the body having an upper edge for connection of a lid, the container having first and second longitudinal ends; a lid mounted to the upper edge, wherein the lid is arranged to slide along the edge, the lid being moveable to enable access to the body of the container; wherein the sliding is between a first position and a second position; first and second clips provided respectively at the first and second longitudinal ends of the edge; a sensor provided at one of the first and second longitudinal ends of the edge or the lid; wherein, in the first position the first and second clips are engaged so as to clip the lid to the body and wherein in the second position the first and second clips are disengaged so as to enable movement of the lid relative to the body and enable access to the body of the container, and wherein the sensor is configured to be activated when the lid slides from the first position to the second position. A corresponding method is also provided.
