Anchor arrangement for isolation tool, isolation tool comprising said anchor arrangement & method

Abstract

An anchor arrangement 14 for an isolation tool 12 comprises a body 16 configured for location through an opening “O” in a wall of a pipe “P”; a first member 18 disposed on or forming part of the body 16, which protrudes outwards in a first direction (Figure 1, “A”); a second member 20 disposed on and / or carried by the body 16, and protrudes in an opposing direction (Figure 1, “B”); and a third member 38 configured to engage a wall (Figure 3, W2) opposite the opening “O”. The second member 20 is moveable from a first, retracted, position to a second, extended, position, whereby movement of the second member 20 urges the body 16 and the first member 18 in the first direction (Figure 1, “A”) to urge the first member 18 into engagement or enhanced engagement with the pipe “P” and / or a pipe connection “T”. The second member may optionally be retracted and extended by an actuator arrangement. A further aspect of the invention includes an isolation tool assembly 10 comprising the anchor arrangement 14 and an isolation tool 12 having a seal unit 22 and a method for isolating a section of a pipe.
