Abstract

Autonomous maritime surface vehicles (AMSVs) are manoeuvred sideways 682 between first and second positions 684, 672 relative to objects 676 to create a synthetic baseline for the AMSV. Radiation received from the objects is sensed by sensing systems of the AMSVs. A perception algorithm is applied to data representing the radiation to detect objects 676 indicated by the data based on a synthetic disparity resulting from the synthetic baseline for the AMSVs. An orientation, location or speed, control instruction for at least a subset of the AMSVs is determined based upon information determined about the detected objects 676. Fig 6K
