Immersive communication sessions

Abstract

An audio processing mode (eg. suppression, compression, amplification, speech enhancement or equalization) is negotiated that is supported by an apparatus based on ambient noise, capture or output devices, or available bitrate. A list comprising the audio processing mode is transmitted (under eg. the Session Description Protocol SDP), and a response is received indicating a preferred audio processing mode wherein the at least one preferred audio processing mode is based on the transmitted list, which is then used in an immersive audio communication session, eg. an Immersive Voice Audio Services (IVAS) bitstream of Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) payloads.
