Abstract

This item is a foldable wheelchair. In particular, this wheelchair is ideal when a Western-style toilet is located directly underneath the wheelchair. For this reason, the seat of this wheelchair is designed to open and close, and when relieving oneself, the seat is opened and the wheelchair user sits directly on the Western-style toilet (see the reference diagram showing a wheelchair user using a Western-style toilet). However, when a Western-style toilet is located directly underneath the wheelchair, it is necessary to secure (clear) a space where the Western-style toilet will be located, so the folding mechanism used in normal wheelchairs cannot be used. For this reason, this wheelchair was created using two folding parts, the backrest and the footrest, as the folding mechanism.
