Abstract
The roof tile, which is the article according to the present design, has a substantially rectangular recess on the lower side of the back surface of the tile, located approximately in the center of the lower edge of the tile, to allow a bracket insertion gap between the overlapping surfaces of the tiles to extend upward when installing rooftop equipment such as solar panels on the tile. The roof tile according to the present design also has a leveling portion located approximately in the center of the tile surface, with a different inclination angle in the roof slope direction from the other portions. Below the leveling portion, a thickened portion is located in the middle of the width direction, with the back recess located in the thickened portion. The tiles are arranged along the surface of the roof tile support material, but as shown in the reference diagram of the used state, the bottom edge of each tile is placed on top of the top edge of the tile below it in the roof slope direction, so when the tiles are arranged on the roof, the inclination direction of the surface of the roof tile support material and the inclination direction of the tiles differ by an angle corresponding to θ in the reference diagram of the used state. (2) The inclination angle of the bottom surface of the back recess is different from the inclination angle of the front and back surfaces of the tile, so that the recess gradually deepens upward in the direction of the roof slope. As a result, the inclination angle of the bottom surface of the back recess is close to the inclination angle of the surface of the roof tile support material. For example, when the roof on which the tiles are laid is viewed from the eaves side, the opening of the back recess does not become unnecessarily large, and the bracket insertion gap can be set without significantly impairing the aesthetic appearance. Another feature of the design is that the thick portion located approximately in the center of the tile's width is smoothly connected to both sides in the width direction without any steps. As a result, when the roof on which the tiles are laid is viewed from the eaves side, the surface of the tile has an appearance of being smoothly connected across the entire width, and the reduction in the strength of the tile due to the formation of the back recess can be reduced or avoided without impairing the aesthetic appearance.Another feature of the design of the present application is that by providing a surface leveling portion located approximately in the center of the surface of the tile, the thick portion is smoothly connected upward in the direction of the roof slope. The provision of the surface leveling portion, which appears approximately crescent-shaped in a plan view, gives the surface of the tile a unique aesthetic appearance, and by facing the surface leveling portion downward in the direction of the roof slope, it is possible to prevent rainwater from accumulating and to achieve rapid rainwater flow downward in the direction of the roof slope in the shape of a tile.
