Abstract

This device is intended for use in lakes, rivers, harbors, and other locations, such as floating piers and floating work platforms. As shown in Reference Figures 1 and 2, which illustrate the device in use, it is connected to the outer edge of a floating body constructed by interconnecting multiple rectangular prism-shaped floats (see, for example, Patent Publication No. 7085780 and Design Registration No. 1746047). Because the bottom surface is inclined, the buoyancy differs between the bottom and the opposite side. By positioning the bottom at the outermost position, the device's resting surface slopes downward toward the floating body. This prevents accidents such as a person standing on the device experiencing stronger buoyancy than the other sides, resulting in the device slipping and falling into the water. While Reference Figure 2, which illustrates the device in use, shows the device positioned so that it sandwiches the floating body, this is not a limitation; the device may also be positioned so that it surrounds the entire periphery of the floating body.
