Abstract
This product is used to replace a parking brake lever installed near the driver's seat of a vehicle such as a truck. Reference Figure 1 shows the parking brake lever removed from the vehicle body along with the brake lever mechanism described below, but in reality, the brake lever mechanism is installed on the vehicle body. As the parking brake lever is used, its appearance may become damaged, and it may be desirable to replace it with a new one or change it to one with a different design. In this case, as shown in Reference Figure 2, the existing (typically genuine) parking brake lever can be removed from the brake lever mechanism on the vehicle body and this product can be installed in its place. Reference Figure 3 is a reference exploded perspective view showing the product in use. As shown in this figure, the brake lever mechanism has an operating rod that is swingable relative to a main body fixed to the vehicle body. The tip of the operating rod extending from the main body is exposed as a plate-shaped part with a roughly rectangular cross section. An annular groove is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the operating rod, facing the main body. This product is attached and fixed to the operating rod of the brake lever mechanism. As shown in the reference perspective view, this article is rod-shaped with a threaded portion at the top of the outside, and a round hole that opens downward is formed on the inside. A square hole with a roughly rectangular cross section is formed above the round hole. This article is fitted to cover the operating rod of the brake lever mechanism. At this time, the square holes of this article are fitted into the plate-like portion of the operating rod. Set screws are screwed into each of the two threaded holes provided at the bottom of this article. The set screws then fit into the annular grooves of the operating rod. In this way, this article is fixed to the operating rod of the brake lever mechanism, as shown in Reference Figure 4. Then, as shown in Reference Figures 5 to 7, an appropriate handle is attached to the threaded portion of this article for use.
