Abstract

This product is a cutting board for cutting meat for yakiniku (Japanese barbecue) in a grid pattern, and has a parallelogram shape with the slanted sides being the longer sides. It also has protrusions at the ends of the slanted sides. To use this product, first position the product (see diagram 1) so that the edge of the rectangular table where the cutting work will be done is parallel to the short side of the cutting board. Then, place the meat parallel to the slanted side, and insert the knife blade from directly above the meat at equal intervals, perpendicular to the short side (edge of the table), and cut until the blade hits the protrusions at the ends of both slanted sides (long sides) of the cutting board. Next, the meat is turned over and placed back in its original position. The cutting board is then rotated so that its slanted side (long side) is parallel to the edge of the table (see diagram 2). As before, the knife blade is inserted at equal intervals from directly above the meat, perpendicular to the long side (edge of the table), and the cutting is done by cutting until the blade hits the protrusions at the ends of both slanted sides (long sides) of the cutting board. Using this product, anyone can achieve a consistent grid-like cut by simply placing the short or long side (slanted side) of the product parallel to the edge of the table and cutting perpendicular to the edge until the blade hits the protrusions at the ends of the slanted sides. The user does not need to hold the knife at an angle to their body, making the work easy and resulting in a good finish. Furthermore, because of its elongated shape, even long, slender parts like tongue can be cut from the base to the tip in one go, and even the tough tip of the tongue can be softened, thus reducing food waste. This item possesses a unique aesthetic appeal due to its parallelogram shape and white color.
