Abstract

This product is a strain analyzer that measures strain within a sample using its optical properties. The strain analyzer comprises a light source consisting of an LED and a light guide plate, a diffuser plate that diffuses the light emitted from the light source, a polarizer (polarizing plate) through which the light that has passed through the diffuser plate passes, a waveplate through which the light that has passed through the sample via the diffuser plate and polarizer passes, and an analyzer (rotating analyzer) that measures the strain within the sample based on the rotation angle by passing the light that has passed through the diffuser plate, polarizer, sample, and waveplate. In the reference plan view showing the transparent part, the part colored blue is the analyzer. It can be used in a vertical position as shown in Reference Figure 1 showing the state of use, or in a horizontal position as shown in Reference Figure 2 showing the state of use. As shown in Reference Figure 3 showing the state of use, the distance between the polarizer and the analyzer can be adjusted by turning the knob to move the analyzer. As shown in Reference Figure 4 showing the state of use, by replacing the waveplate with one that has different optical properties, strain can be measured using different measurement methods such as the crossed nicols method, the sensitive color method, and the senarmont method.
