Abstract

The articles related to this design are architectural panels for the interior and exterior of buildings, featuring a combed decorative pattern on interior spaces and exterior walls. Primarily intended for use in the exterior walls, living spaces, entrances, corridors, and lounges of residences, shops, offices, and facilities, it provides a new design option for the composition and appearance of the combed pattern formed on the perimeter walls of the interior, which consists of exterior walls, floors, ceilings, and perimeter walls. The articles related to this design are interior and exterior panels that can be made into predetermined sizes (for example, a rectangular shape of 800mm x 900mm) and connected vertically and horizontally, or cut into predetermined shapes (circular, triangular, etc.) and attached to the construction site. The essence of this design lies in the decorative pattern of linear indentations created by combing, which is applied continuously to the exterior and interior walls, and the visual rhythm created by the combination of its direction, pitch, and repeating units. While there are no particular restrictions on the colors, the combed pattern is based on stripes with alternating rows of narrow and wide grooves as its basic unit. This pattern can be oriented horizontally, sideways, or diagonally, and by reversing the direction of the groove rows in the upper and lower sections and connecting them, a sawtooth-like folding rhythm is created. These basic units are arranged at equal intervals throughout the entire wall, and at the corners, the groove rows are connected with the phase aligned between the left and right walls to maintain continuity. Around openings (doorways and windows), the groove rows are routed along the frame, and the finish is designed to minimize breaks in the grooves at each side. This design is an interior and exterior panel material that provides a sense of unity as an exterior or interior, regardless of the design of floors, ceilings, lighting fixtures, furniture, etc., through the composition and arrangement of the combed pattern formed on the surrounding wall (see reference perspective drawing). It is also possible to create a paper-like material with a combed pattern by applying building material to a predetermined thickness onto paper (paper material). Furthermore, since the above combed pattern is created by craftsmen by hand, it may not be perfectly straight, and some slightly curved combed patterns may be produced. Additionally, the intensity (darkness or lightness) of the stripes changes depending on the viewing angle and the intensity of light.
