USB-type fingerprint reader

Abstract

This design relates to a USB-plug type fingerprint reader for use with personal computers and other devices. The device has a USB plug at one end, which connects to the USB port of the device. A fingerprint sensor is located on the front, allowing the user to authenticate themselves by touching it with their finger. This enables quick login using only a fingerprint, without the need to enter a PIN code or password. This design eliminates the hassle of setting complex passwords and changing them regularly, enhancing convenience. The device can recognize fingerprints from any angle (360 degrees). By using unique biometric information, security is enhanced, and it is less susceptible to interference from glasses or masks, unlike facial recognition. Furthermore, the flat surface of the device features a USB port, allowing other USB devices to be connected even when the reader is installed. This ensures that the fingerprint authentication function does not block the USB port. Overall, the design features a compact and integrated housing shape, prioritizing ease of connection and portability.
