Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present application relates to a drug delivery device, and more particularly to a drug delivery device that can be used in conjunction with a syringe to deliver drugs to the human body in the form of an aerosol. [Background technology]
[0002] Syringes are common medical tools in the medical field, and are used to deliver drugs and the like to the human body to perform operations such as disease treatment, vaccine implantation, etc. At present, there are spray drug administration devices on the market that are used in conjunction with syringes, and after the drug solution is drawn into the syringe, the spray drug administration device can be fitted to the syringe. Then, the nozzle of the spray drug administration device is fitted to the nasal cavity, oral cavity, or other body part suitable for drug administration, and the drug solution is atomized and delivered to the human body by pressing the syringe. Compared with conventional syringe drug administration, such spray drug administration devices can deliver the drug solution uniformly to the required part and reduce wounds to the human body.
[0003] In the process of application, it is found that the existing aerosol drug delivery device still has some problems: for example, when pushing the syringe to deliver the drug solution, the pressure in the syringe will increase rapidly, causing the connection between the aerosol drug delivery device and the syringe to loosen, resulting in leakage between the two, and in serious cases, the aerosol drug delivery device and the syringe will separate from each other, and even blow up the aerosol drug delivery device, creating a safety hazard.
[0004] In addition, for example, in applications where the drug is sprayed into the nasal cavity of a user, the orientation of the aerosol drug administration device or syringe is inappropriate, causing the syringe to assume a posture with the front higher and the back lower. This causes air to be positioned at the tip of the syringe, which means that the air is discharged first, followed by the drug solution. This results in a large amount of drug solution remaining in the aerosol drug administration device or syringe, which leads to inaccurate dosage and waste of the drug solution.
[0005] In addition, when administering a drug to the nasal cavities, it is necessary to administer the drug to each of the two nasal cavities, which is relatively cumbersome, and it is difficult to ensure that the dosage of the drug to each of the two nasal cavities is equal, and sometimes there is a large difference in the dosage of the drug to each of the two nasal cavities. Therefore, in order to overcome the technical problems existing in the above-mentioned conventional aerosol drug delivery devices, the structure of the aerosol drug delivery device needs to be further improved. Summary of the Invention
[0006] The present invention has been made to solve the technical problems existing in the above-mentioned prior art. The object of the present invention is to provide a spray drug administration device with an improved structure, which can avoid the problem of the spray drug administration device and the syringe being separated from each other or leaking between them when they are engaged. In addition, the present invention improves the structure of the spray drug administration device to realize sufficient spraying of the drug solution in the device and the syringe. Furthermore, the spray drug administration device with the improved structure can also realize uniform drug administration to the two nasal cavities.
[0007] The nebulized drug administration device of the present invention comprises: a sleeve having an internal cavity capable of receiving a needle of a syringe; At least one nozzle provided at a tip of the sleeve and communicating with the lumen of the sleeve; Therein, the axis of the nozzle is at an angle to the axis of the sleeve.
[0008] In the above configuration, the axial direction of the nozzle forms an angle with respect to the axial direction of the sleeve, and therefore also forms a similar angle with respect to the axial direction of the syringe inserted into the sleeve. In this way, when the liquid medicine is delivered to the nasal cavity using the spray drug administration device, the syringe assumes a posture with the front lower and the back higher. At this time, the liquid medicine gathers at the tip of the syringe, and gas is generated at the rear of the liquid medicine. When the liquid medicine is pushed out, this gas is compressed, and the compression force provides additional force to push out the liquid medicine. Then, after the liquid medicine is pushed out, this compressed gas plays a role of purging the liquid medicine, pushing out the remaining liquid medicine.
[0009] In another configuration of the invention, an aerosol medication delivery device comprises: a sleeve having an internal cavity capable of receiving a needle of a syringe; at least one nozzle provided at a tip of the sleeve and communicating with an inner cavity of the sleeve; and a finger plate formed at or near the rear end of the sleeve.
[0010] The provision of a finger plate ensures that the aerosol drug administration device and the syringe are held together when the drug is expelled, reducing or eliminating leakage of drug between them and preventing the aerosol drug administration device from being blown away.
[0011] In yet another configuration of the present invention, an aerosol medication delivery device comprises: a sleeve having an internal cavity capable of receiving a needle of a syringe; The nozzle is provided at the tip of the sleeve, and is located on both the left and right sides of the tip of the sleeve and communicates with the inner cavity of the sleeve.
[0012] The installation of two nozzles allows medication to be delivered to both nasal cavities simultaneously, ensuring that the amount of medicinal liquid delivered to each cavities is equal. Preferably, the nozzle comprises a curved tube, one end of which is connected to the tip of the spray drug administration device, the other end of which is inserted with a nozzle core, and the other end of which is fitted with a nozzle head. More preferably, the curved tube is a bellows tube so that the bending angle of the curved tube can be adjusted.
[0013] Preferably, one nozzle is provided having a nozzle head integrally formed with the sleeve and a nozzle core housed in the nozzle head. Preferably, the nozzle has a curved tube and a nozzle core, one end of the curved tube is connected to the tip of the spray drug administration device, and the other end of the curved tube is formed with a convex pillar, and the nozzle core is fitted onto the convex pillar from the other end of the curved tube. Preferably, the curved tube is rotatable relative to the sleeve tube so that the angle of the nozzle relative to the sleeve tube can be adjusted. More preferably, the curved tube is a bellows tube so that the curved tube can be easily rotated relative to the sleeve.
[0014] Of course, it is also within the scope of the present invention if the angle of the nozzle relative to the sleeve is fixed. For example, the angle of the nozzle relative to the sleeve can be fixed via a slit-projection fitting structure.
[0015] Preferably, the sleeve is formed with a viewing area through which the syringe can be seen, which is convenient for a user to control the amount of liquid medicine to be extruded.
[0016] Preferably, the viewing portion is a see-through portion or a transparent portion formed in the sleeve. Preferably, the nozzle includes a nozzle head having an intake passage formed therein. The intake passage allows the user to inhale air when applying the liquid medicine, which contributes to applying the liquid medicine more deeply. The intake passage also allows the user to breathe more smoothly.
[0017] Specifically, the intake passage is formed by at least one of an intake port and an intake groove. The present invention also relates to an aerosolized drug administration system comprising the above-mentioned aerosolized drug administration device and a syringe insertable into the inner cavity of the sleeve of the aerosolized drug administration device.
[0018] Preferably, there is also provided a stopper clip removably attached to the syringe plunger. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0020] In order to facilitate understanding of the present invention, the following detailed description will be given of specific embodiments of the present invention with reference to the drawings. It is understood that the drawings are merely preferred embodiments of the present invention and do not limit the scope of the present invention. Those skilled in the art can make various obvious modifications, changes, and equivalent replacements to the present invention based on the embodiments shown in the drawings, and can freely combine the technical features in different embodiments described below as long as there is no contradiction, and all of these combinations fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
[0021] In the following detailed description of the present invention, the terms "front", "rear" and other directional and orientation terms are used with respect to the user of the aerosol drug delivery device and syringe in use, where "front" refers to the side away from the user and "rear" refers to the side closer to the user.
[0022] <First Example> 1 to 6 show a nebulized medication delivery device 110 according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and a syringe 120 used with this nebulized medication delivery device 110. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of an assembly of the nebulized medication delivery device 110 and the syringe 120.
[0023] As shown diagrammatically in FIG. 3, the aerosolized medication delivery device 110 comprises a sleeve 111 into which a needle barrel 121 of a syringe 120 can be inserted.
[0024] Figures 4 and 5 are cross-sectional views taken along lines AA and BB, respectively, in Figure 2. As shown in Figure 4, a nozzle core 131 is provided in the nozzle 130, and the liquid medicine from the syringe 120 is atomized through this nozzle core 131.
[0025] FIG. 6a shows an exploded perspective view of the aerosol drug administration device 110 to better show the structure of the aerosol drug administration device 110. It can be seen that a finger plate 112 is formed at or near the rear end of the sleeve 111 of the aerosol drug administration device 110. When a user presses the plunger 122 of the syringe 120 with his thumb to push out the liquid medicine in the syringe 120, the finger plate 112 can be engaged with the index finger and middle finger. Preferably, the sleeve 111 is formed with a perforated portion 113, which allows the user to see the scale on the needle barrel 121 of the syringe 120 covered by the sleeve 111, helping the user control the amount of liquid medicine pushed out.
[0026] Instead of the openwork portion 113, a transparent material may be used to form part of the aerosolized medication delivery device 110, or the aerosolized medication delivery device 110 may be made entirely of a transparent material, such as a transparent plastic material.
[0027] The finger plate 112 may take on a variety of suitable shapes, such as, for example, polygonal, circular, etc., all of which are within the scope of the present invention. Two nozzles 130 are provided at the tip of the sleeve 111. Specifically, a side opening 114 is formed on each of the left and right sides of the tip of the sleeve 111, that is, two side openings 114 are formed at the tip. The opening direction of the side openings 114 forms an angle with the axial direction of the sleeve 111, and is preferably perpendicular to this axial direction.
[0028] A curved tube 132 of the nozzle 130 is connected to each side opening 114. For example, a convex ring structure is formed in the side opening 114, and a concave groove structure is formed on the inner surface of one end of the curved tube 132 close to the side opening 114. When the curved tube 132 is attached to the side opening 114, a snap fit is formed between the convex ring structure and the concave groove structure, connecting the curved tube 132 and the side opening 114. The nozzle core 131 is inserted into the other end of the curved tube 132, and the nozzle head 133 is covered on the other end of the curved tube 132 to assemble and form the nozzle 130. As is clear from FIG. 5, after assembly, the nozzle 130 is arranged so that its longitudinal axis forms an angle with the longitudinal axis of the sleeve 111, in other words, the two longitudinal axes are not aligned in a straight line. The snap fit between the convex ring structure and the concave groove structure also allows rotation of the curved tube 132 relative to the sleeve 111 so that the angle of the longitudinal axis of the nozzle 130 relative to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve 111 can be adjusted.
[0029] The connection between the curved tube 132 and the side opening 114 can also be connected in other ways, for example, by engaging with each other via a threaded structure. Rotation of the curved tube 132 relative to the sleeve 111 can also be achieved by other additional or alternative structures, for example, as described in the examples below.
[0030] The curved tube 132 and the side opening 114 may be fixed to each other so as not to rotate. For example, as shown in Figures 6b and 6c, a notch 134 is formed at the position of the side opening 114, while a protruding piece 135 is formed at one end of the bending tube 132 connected to the side opening 114, and when the bending tube 132 is connected to the side opening 114, the protruding piece 135 fits into the notch 134. Due to the interaction between the notch 134 and the protruding piece 135, the bending tube 132 becomes unable to rotate, and further the angle of the bending tube 132 relative to the sleeve 111 is fixed. The installation positions of the notch 134 and the protruding piece 135 are interchangeable, i.e., the notch 134 may be formed in the bending tube 132, and the protruding piece 135 may be formed at the corresponding position of the side opening 114.
[0031] A method of using the aerosolized medication administration device 110 will now be described. First, the user extracts the liquid medicine from the medicine bottle using the syringe 120. Then, the user removes the needle head of the syringe 120 and inserts the needle barrel 121 of the syringe 120 into the inner cavity of the sleeve 111. Then, the user pushes the plunger 122 of the syringe 120 to push the liquid medicine in the needle barrel 121 into the nozzle 130, and the liquid medicine is atomized in the nozzle 130. The liquid medicine atomized through the nozzle 130 is discharged from the nozzle head 133 of the nozzle 130, and can be applied to a site such as the patient's nasal cavity or oral cavity.
[0032] When pushing out the medicinal liquid, the user presses plunger 122 (e.g., with the thumb) while hooking finger plate 112 on sleeve 111 (e.g., with the index finger and middle finger). By holding syringe 120 in contact with nebulized drug administration device 110 in this way when pushing out the medicinal liquid, leakage of medicinal liquid that occurs between nebulized drug administration device 110 and syringe 120 can be reduced or eliminated, and nebulized drug administration device 110 will not be blown away by the pressure of the pushed-out medicinal liquid.
[0033] Furthermore, the illustrated first embodiment of the sprayed drug administration device 110 has two nozzles 130, and is therefore particularly suitable for administration to the nasal cavity. That is, during administration, the two nozzles 130 can be directed toward the two nostrils of the patient, respectively. The two nozzles 130 can be made substantially identical to each other so that the drug solution can be supplied to the two nozzles 130 simultaneously when the plunger 122 is pressed to generate the atomized drug solution, and the ejected atomized drug solution can maintain approximately the same state.
[0034] In addition, since the longitudinal axis of the nozzle 130 is at an angle with the longitudinal axis of the sleeve 111 (which is also the longitudinal axis of the syringe 120), when the two nozzles 130 are inserted in alignment with the patient's nostrils, the syringe 120 assumes a posture in which the front is low and the back is high. In this way, at the time of administration, the medicinal liquid is concentrated at the tip of the syringe 120, and a certain amount of gas exists between the medicinal liquid and the tip of the plunger 122. At this time, when the plunger 122 is pressed, the gas between the tip of the plunger 122 and the medicinal liquid is compressed, and this compressed gas generates an additional propulsive force for the medicinal liquid, thereby contributing to pushing out the medicinal liquid more quickly. Meanwhile, at the end of the propelling process, the compressed air is pushed out, and in the process of pushing out, the pressure of the compressed air can push out the medicinal liquid remaining in the nebulized drug administration device 110, the syringe 120, and the nozzle 130, and the medicinal liquid can be sprayed out.
[0035] <Second Example> 7 to 11 show the structure of an assembly of aerosolized drug administration device 210 and syringe 220 according to a second embodiment of the present invention and its modified structure. In the second embodiment, the same or corresponding features as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the features different from the first embodiment will be mainly described, and the same features will not be described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the features described in the first embodiment are also applicable to the second embodiment.
[0036] As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the aerosolized medication delivery device 210 used with the syringe 220 has a single nozzle 230. The longitudinal axis of the nozzle 230 is substantially coincident with, or in other words aligned with, the longitudinal axis of the aerosolized medication delivery device 210. The nozzle 230 comprises a nozzle head 233 and a nozzle core 231 housed in the nozzle head 233. In a preferred configuration shown in the figures, the nozzle head 233 may be integrally formed with the sleeve 211 of the aerosolized medication delivery device 210. Of course, the nozzle head 233 may be formed separately from the sleeve 211 and then attached together.
[0037] As in the first embodiment, a finger plate 212 is formed at the rear end of sleeve 211, and when pushing out the medicinal liquid in syringe 220, the user hooks finger plate 212 while pressing plunger 222 of syringe 220 so as to hold nebulized drug administration device 210 and syringe 220 together.
[0038] 9 to 11 are schematic diagrams of a modified structure of the second embodiment of the present invention. Specifically, a stopper clip 240 is attached to the syringe 220 to assist in measuring the amount of dispensed liquid medicine. Specifically, the stopper clip 240 is attached to the plunger 222. FIG. 11 shows one exemplary configuration of the stopper clip 240.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 10, in the initial position, the length of the plunger 222 is longer than the length of the stopper clip 240 by H1, so that the plunger 222 can be pushed toward the tip. After the plunger 222 is pushed forward by the distance H1, the stopper clip 240 is sandwiched between the needle cylinder 221 and the plunger 222, and at this time, the stopper clip 240 prevents the plunger 222 from being further pushed forward. At this time, the administration of the drug to one nasal cavity is completed. Next, when administering the drug to the other nasal cavity, the stopper clip 240 is removed, so that the plunger 222 can be further pushed toward the tip until the drug solution is completely pushed out by pushing the plunger 222 forward by a distance H2, for example, as shown in FIG. 10.
[0040] The placement of the stopper clip 240 aids in the distribution of the fluid in the syringe 220 to ensure that the amounts of fluid delivered to the two nostrils are substantially equal.
[0041] <Third Example> 12 and 13 show perspective views of a spray medication delivery device 310 and a syringe 320 used therewith according to a third embodiment of the present invention. In the figures, the same or corresponding feature parts as those in the first and second embodiments are represented by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the features different from those in the first and second embodiments are mainly described, and the same features are not described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the features described in the first and second embodiments are equally applicable to the third embodiment.
[0042] The third embodiment of the nebulized medication administration device 310 can be used in conjunction with a syringe 320 and has a single nozzle 330 at the tip of the nebulized medication administration device 310. What is different from the second embodiment is that the axial direction of the nozzle 330 of the nebulized medication administration device 310 of the third embodiment is angled with respect to the axial direction of the main body of the nebulized medication administration device 310 (i.e., its sleeve), as shown in FIG.
[0043] Further, the nozzle 330 includes a nozzle core 331 , a curved tube 332 that houses the nozzle core 331 and is connected to the main body of the nebulized drug administration device 310 , and a nozzle head 333 that is fitted onto the nozzle core 331 and the curved tube 332 .
[0044] <Fourth Example> 14 to 16 show perspective views of a nebulized medication administration device 410 according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention and a syringe 420 used therewith. In the figures, the same or corresponding characteristic parts as those in the first to third embodiments are denoted by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the characteristics different from the first to third embodiments will mainly be described, and the same characteristics will not be described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the characteristics described in the first to third embodiments are equally applicable to the fourth embodiment.
[0045] In the fourth embodiment, as is more clearly seen from the cross-sectional view shown in Figure 16, a nebulized medication delivery device 410 includes two nozzles 430, each of which includes a nozzle body 432, which is integrally formed with the nebulized medication delivery device 410. Preferably, the nozzle body 432 of the nozzle 430 generally forms a circular arc for ease of manufacture.
[0046] The nozzle 430 further comprises a nozzle core 431 inserted into the nozzle body 432 . This integrally formed nozzle 430 structure contributes to simplifying the structure and reducing the number of parts.
[0047] <Fifth Example> 17 shows a nebulized medication administration device 510 according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention. In the fifth embodiment, the same or corresponding characteristic parts as those in the first to fourth embodiments are denoted by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the characteristics different from the first to fourth embodiments will be mainly described, and the same characteristics will not be described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the characteristics described in the first to fourth embodiments are equally applicable to the fifth embodiment.
[0048] In the fifth embodiment of a nebulized drug administration device 510 , a nozzle 530 includes a bellows tube 532 that functions as a nozzle body of the nozzle 530 , and the bellows tube 532 is connected to the body of the nebulized drug administration device 510 .
[0049] By using the bellows tube 532 as the main body of the nozzle 530, molding becomes easy, and the bellows tube 532 can be straightened during molding, and can be bent to a desired angle when in use. In addition, the bend angle of the bellows tube 532 can be adjusted, and it can be applied to various uses.
[0050] <Sixth Example> 18 to 20 show a nebulized medication administration device 610 according to a sixth embodiment of the present invention. In the device, the same or corresponding characteristic parts as those in the first to fifth embodiments are denoted by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the characteristics different from the first to fifth embodiments will be mainly described, and the same characteristics will not be described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the characteristics described in the first to fifth embodiments can be applied to the sixth embodiment as well.
[0051] The aerosolized drug administration device 610 includes a sleeve 611 as its main body, a finger plate 612 formed at the rear end of the sleeve 611, and a nozzle 630 attached to the front end of the sleeve 611. As in the first embodiment, the nozzle 630 can be connected to the sleeve 611 via a collar-groove fitting (as shown in the figure), a screw connection, or other methods.
[0052] In the sixth embodiment, the nozzle 630 includes a curved tube 632 and a nozzle core 631 inserted into the curved tube 632. Figure 20 shows a cross-sectional view of the nozzle 630, in which a protruding pillar 633 is formed on the curved tube 632, and the nozzle core 631 inserted into the curved tube 632 can be fitted onto the protruding pillar 633 so as to realize the fixing of the curved tube 632 to the nozzle core 631. Nozzle 630 having the above-mentioned configuration can be applied to the aerosolized drug administration devices of the first to fifth embodiments described above.
[0053] <Seventh Example> 21 to 26b show a nebulized medication administration device 710 according to a seventh embodiment of the present invention and its modified examples. In the seventh embodiment, the same or corresponding characteristic parts as those in the first to sixth embodiments are denoted by the same or similar reference numerals, and in the following disclosure, the characteristics different from the first to sixth embodiments will be mainly described, and the same characteristics will not be described in detail. Unless otherwise stated, the characteristics described in the first to sixth embodiments can be applied to the seventh embodiment as well.
[0054] As shown in Figures 21 to 22b, in a nebulized drug administration device 710 of the seventh embodiment, a nozzle head 733 of the nozzle is formed with at least one, and preferably multiple, air intake ports 734. Air intake ports 734 are arranged so as to surround the circumferential direction of nozzle head 733. In the example shown in Figures 22a and 22b, air intake port 734 is substantially rectangular.
[0055] By providing the intake port 734, when administering a drug to the user's nasal cavity using the spray drug administration device 710, the intake port 734 provides a passage for drawing in air. The drawn-in air contributes to bringing the atomized drug solution to the back of the nasal cavity, which is advantageous for the drug solution to be absorbed by the nasal mucosa. Furthermore, the provision of the intake port 734 allows the user to breathe smoothly even during drug administration, which is particularly useful for children.
[0056] 23 to 24b show a modified structure of the aerosolized medication administration device 710 of the seventh embodiment, in which a nozzle head 733' is provided with several circular inlets 734'.
[0057] 25 to 26b show another modified structure of the spray medication administration device 710 of the seventh embodiment. In it, a plurality of intake grooves 734" are formed on the outer circumferential surface of a nozzle head 733". These intake grooves 734" extend from the front end to the rear end of the nozzle head 733". When administering medication to the user's nasal cavity, these intake grooves 734" can form a passage for sucking in air.
