Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a tube member used in a wind instrument, and to the tube member. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, lacquer has been widely used as a natural paint in the manufacture of lacquerware, taking advantage of its hardening property (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0003] A known method for manufacturing lacquerware includes a step of applying lacquer to the outer surface of a body, which is typically made of wood (including bamboo).
[0004] However, lacquerware manufactured using conventional methods only has lacquer applied to the outer surface of the body, so if insects were to be found inside the body during the manufacturing process, there was a risk that the finished lacquerware would be damaged due to so-called "insect-eaten" insects.
[0005] Furthermore, when wood is used as the main material for lacquerware, the so-called "grain thinning" phenomenon, which occurs as the lacquerware dries over time, can cause localized dents and unevenness (grain thinning). Although the dents and unevenness (grain thinning) that can occur due to this "grain thinning" phenomenon are elements that are praised by tea masters and others in the field of lacquerware, it goes without saying that they are extremely inconvenient, especially in the field of musical instruments that produce a stable tone.
[0006] Furthermore, known wind instruments that use wooden tube components have the disadvantages of being prone to producing bad odors due to the user's saliva, etc. remaining inside the instrument, being prone to mold growth, and being prone to corrosion.
[0007] The inventors noticed these problems and discovered that these problems could be solved by making the tube member used in the flute mainly out of lacquer.
[0008] The above circumstances also apply to wind instruments other than the transverse flute. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0021] Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0022] This embodiment relates to a flute A, which is a wind instrument, and a method for manufacturing a tube member K used in the flute A.
[0023] As shown in FIG. 10, the tube member K is used as the main component of the flute A and has a single hole h1 that serves as the mouthpiece and seven holes h2 that serve as finger holes.
[0024] A method for manufacturing the tubular member K will now be described.
[0025] The method of manufacturing the tubular member K in this embodiment includes a viscous liquid material production step S1 of producing a viscous liquid material U mainly made of lacquer, an impregnated sheet material production step S2 of impregnating a mosquito net fabric C, which is a substantially rectangular sheet material, with the viscous liquid material U to produce an impregnated sheet material G, an impregnated sheet material winding step S3 of winding the impregnated sheet material G produced in the impregnated sheet material production step S2 around a rod-shaped core material B, an impregnated sheet material drying step S4 of drying the impregnated sheet material G wound around the core material B in the impregnated sheet material winding step S3 while it is still wound around the core material B to form an intermediate tubular body D that has solidified to have a substantially cylindrical shape around the core material B, and an impregnated sheet material drying step S5 of drying the impregnated sheet material G wound around the core material B in the impregnated sheet material winding step S3 while it is still wound around the core material B. The method includes an impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 in which an impregnated sheet material G newly produced in the impregnated sheet material production process S2 is additionally wound around the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate tubular body D formed through the drying process S4 in order to thicken the intermediate tubular body D; an impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 in which the impregnated sheet material G wound around the intermediate tubular body D through the impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 is dried to form a thickened intermediate tubular body E by thickening the intermediate tubular body D; a core material removal process S7 in which the core material B is removed from the thickened intermediate tubular body E; and a finishing process S8 in which the surface of the thickened intermediate tubular body E having a hollow cylindrical shape obtained through the core material removal process S7 is smoothed to form a tubular member K.
[0026] Each step will be described in detail below.
[0027] <Viscous liquid production process S1> As shown in Fig. 1, the viscous liquid material production process S1 produces a viscous liquid material U whose main material is lacquer. The viscous liquid material U contains lacquer and so will solidify when it dries. The viscous liquid material U will soak into the mosquito net fabric C, which is the sheet material, in the impregnated sheet material production process S2.
[0028] Here, "lacquer" in this specification refers to the refined sap extracted from the lacquer tree. In other words, "lacquer" in this specification refers to what remains after wood chips and debris have been filtered from the sap extracted from the lacquer tree, and is generally referred to as "raw lacquer."
[0029] Lacquer has the property of hardening when it dries. When exposed to temperatures between 20 and 35 degrees Celsius and high humidity, the oxidase enzymes (laccase, etc.) contained in the lacquer itself act to harden it.
[0030] The viscous liquid material U in this embodiment contains lacquer, abrasive powder, and water. The amounts of lacquer, abrasive powder, and water constituting the viscous liquid material U are appropriately set. The viscous liquid material U in this embodiment is made from 45 g of lacquer (raw lacquer), 108 g of abrasive powder, and 40 g of water.
[0031] <Impregnated sheet material production process S2> In the impregnated sheet material production process S2, as shown in FIG. 2, an impregnated sheet material G is produced by impregnating a viscous liquid material U mainly made of lacquer into a mosquito net fabric C, which is a substantially rectangular sheet material.
[0032] In the impregnated sheet material production process S2, a mosquito net fabric C, which is a substantially rectangular sheet material, is impregnated with a viscous liquid material U to produce a deformable impregnated sheet material G, which is a stage before the lacquer components solidify. The work of impregnating the mosquito net fabric C with the viscous liquid material U is carried out using a tool T such as a spatula or brush as necessary.
[0033] The impregnated sheet material production process S2 is carried out, for example, on a flat glass plate (not shown). That is, a new mosquito net fabric C is placed on the horizontal surface of the glass plate, which is a workbench, and then the mosquito net fabric C placed on the glass plate is impregnated with the viscous liquid material U.
[0034] It should be noted that the impregnated sheet material production process S2 is not limited to being carried out on a glass plate, and any suitable method can be adopted as long as it is possible to impregnate the mosquito net fabric C with the viscous liquid material U.
[0035] The mosquito net fabric C, which is a sheet material, is a coarse plain weave fabric suitable for embedding a viscous liquid material U. Mosquito net fabrics C are generally made from cotton or hemp, but the mosquito net fabric C in this embodiment is made from hemp. Mosquito net fabrics C made from hemp, a hard fiber, are particularly durable compared to those made from other fibers, and when wetted, can exhibit twice the strength of cotton, are resistant to tension, and have excellent water absorption.
[0036] The width dimension w3 of the mosquito net fabric C is set to be at least longer than the longitudinal dimension w8 of the tubular member K required for the flute A.
[0037] <Impregnated sheet material wrapping process S3> In the impregnated sheet material winding step S3, as shown in FIG. 3, the deformable impregnated sheet material G produced in the impregnated sheet material production step S2 and which is in a stage prior to the solidification of the lacquer components, is wound around a rod-shaped core material B.
[0038] The core material B is in the form of a straight rod. In this embodiment, the diameter w1 of the core material B is set to approximately 13 mm. The longitudinal dimension w2 of the core material B, i.e., the dimension in the axial direction, is set to be longer than the width dimension w3 of the mosquito net fabric C. The core material B is in the form of a cylinder. The material of the core material B may be any material, such as wood, metal, or plastic.
[0039] The core material B is removed (pulled out) from the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E in a core material removing step S7, which will be described in detail later.
[0040] Here, it is desirable to provide a sliding promotion means (not shown) on the outer peripheral surface of the core material B to promote sliding with the inner peripheral surface of the thick-walled intermediate tubular body E before the impregnated sheet material G is wrapped around it. A specific example of the sliding promotion means is to cover the outer peripheral surface of the core material B with a plastic film having excellent sliding properties. If the sliding promotion means is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the core material B, the core material B that has been subjected to the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 can be smoothly extracted from the thick-walled intermediate tubular body E in the core material removal step S7.
[0041] The impregnated sheet material winding step S3 is performed, for example, on a glass plate, similarly to the impregnated sheet material production step S2. That is, after the impregnated sheet material G is arranged in a substantially rectangular spread state on the glass plate, the impregnated sheet material G is wound around the core material B from one end side.
[0042] <Impregnated sheet material drying process S4> As shown in FIG. 4, the impregnated sheet material drying process S4 involves drying the impregnated sheet material G, which has been wrapped around the core material B via the impregnated sheet material winding process S3, in a predetermined manner while still wrapped around the core material B, to form an intermediate cylinder D that has solidified into an approximately cylindrical shape around the core material B.
[0043] In the impregnated sheet material drying step S4, the impregnated sheet material G in a wet state wrapped around the core material B is placed in a drying environment to cause a solidification reaction of the lacquer. In this embodiment, the impregnated sheet material drying step S4 is carried out over a period of about one day (24 hours).
[0044] The impregnated sheet material drying step S4 can take various forms as long as it is possible to place the wet impregnated sheet material G wrapped around the core material B in an environment in which it can be dried. For example, the impregnated sheet material drying step S4 can be performed by placing the impregnated sheet material G in a drying chamber called a lacquer bath and exposing it to a high humidity atmosphere, which can actively promote the solidification reaction.
[0045] The wall thickness w4 of the intermediate cylindrical body D obtained through the impregnated sheet material drying step S4 does not reach a value that can be used as a tubular member K for use in the transverse flute A. Therefore, in order to obtain a wall thickness w5 that can be used as a tubular member K for use in the transverse flute A, the impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 and the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 are carried out after the impregnated sheet material drying step S4.
[0046] <Additional wrapping process for impregnated sheet material S5> As shown in FIG. 5, the additional impregnated sheet material winding process S5 involves winding an additional impregnated sheet material G, which has been newly produced in the impregnated sheet material production process S2, around the outer surface of the intermediate tubular body D formed through the impregnated sheet material drying process S4 in order to thicken the intermediate tubular body D.
[0047] The additional impregnated sheet material winding step S5 is performed, for example, on a glass plate, similarly to the impregnated sheet material winding step S3. That is, after a new impregnated sheet material G is arranged on the glass plate in a state in which it is spread out in a substantially rectangular shape, the new impregnated sheet material G is wound from one end side around the intermediate cylindrical body D that is being held by the core material B.
[0048] <Impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6> As shown in FIG. 6, the impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 is a process for forming a thickened intermediate tubular body E by drying the new impregnated sheet material G that has been wrapped around the intermediate tubular body D after the impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5.
[0049] That is, as shown in FIG. 6, when the additional impregnated sheet material G wrapped around the initially formed intermediate tubular body D dries, it is integrated with the initially formed intermediate tubular body D to form a thickened intermediate tubular body E having a wall thickness dimension w6 greater than that of the initially formed intermediate tubular body D.
[0050] <Repetition of process S5 for wrapping additional impregnated sheet material and process S6 for drying additional impregnated sheet material> In the method for producing the tubular member K of this embodiment, the impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 and the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 are repeated multiple times until the thick-walled intermediate cylindrical body E is formed to a constant thickness.
[0051] Here, Fig. 7 shows the impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 which is performed for the second time, and Fig. 8 shows the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 which is performed for the second time.
[0052] In this embodiment, the predetermined wall thickness w5 required for the tubular member K is set to 2 mm. Therefore, in the manufacturing method for the tubular member K, the impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 and the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 are repeated until the wall thickness w7 of the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E finally obtained exceeds 2 mm.
[0053] The second impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 shown in Figure 7 involves additionally winding a new impregnated sheet material G around the outer surface of the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E, which is an intermediate cylindrical body formed through the previous impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 (see Figure 6).
[0054] The second impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 shown in Figure 8 is for forming a final thickened intermediate cylindrical body E by further thickening the previous intermediate cylindrical body, the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E (see Figure 6).
[0055] In this embodiment, after the second impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 shown in FIG. 7 and the second impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 shown in FIG. 8 are completed, the final thickened intermediate cylindrical body E has a wall thickness dimension w7 exceeding 2 mm.
[0056] The number of times that the impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 and the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 are repeated is not particularly limited, and they are performed until a predetermined wall thickness dimension w7 is obtained.
[0057] <Core material removal process S7> The core material removing step S7 is for removing the core material B from the final thickened intermediate cylindrical body E having a predetermined wall thickness w7.
[0058] More specifically, the core material removing step S7 involves removing the core material B from the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E.
[0059] As already mentioned above, if a sliding promotion means is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the core material B, the core material B which has completed the impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 can be smoothly extracted from the thickened intermediate cylindrical body E in the core material removal process S7.
[0060] <Finishing process S8> The finishing step S8 is carried out after the core material removing step S7, as shown in Fig. 11. The finishing step S8 is for smoothing the surface of the thick-walled intermediate cylindrical body E having a hollow cylindrical shape obtained through the core material removing step S7, to form a tubular member K, which is the final product.
[0061] The finishing step S8 comprises a number of operations required to form the final tube section K.
[0062] That is, the finishing process S8 includes at least the steps of cutting both ends of the thickened intermediate tubular body E to adjust it to a predetermined longitudinal dimension w8, polishing the surface of the thickened intermediate tubular body E, applying lacquer to the surface of the thickened intermediate tubular body E after the polishing process to improve its design, and drilling the single hole h1 that serves as the mouthpiece and the seven holes h2 that serve as the finger holes.
[0063] As described above, the manufacturing method of the tube member K used in the flute A, which is a wind instrument according to this embodiment, includes a viscous liquid material production step S1 in which a viscous liquid material U containing lacquer as a main material is produced, an impregnated sheet material production step S2 in which the viscous liquid material U is impregnated into a mosquito net fabric C, which is a substantially rectangular sheet material, to produce an impregnated sheet material G, an impregnated sheet material winding step S3 in which the impregnated sheet material G produced in the impregnated sheet material production step S2 is wound around a rod-shaped core material B, an impregnated sheet material drying step S4 in which the impregnated sheet material G wound around the core material B in the impregnated sheet material winding step S3 is dried to form an intermediate cylinder D that has solidified to have a substantially cylindrical shape around the core material B, and a drying step S5 in which the impregnated sheet material G is dried. The method includes an impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 in which an impregnated sheet material G newly produced in the impregnated sheet material production process S2 is additionally wound around the outer surface of the intermediate tubular body D formed through the drying process S4 in order to thicken the intermediate tubular body D, an impregnated sheet material additional drying process S6 in which the impregnated sheet material G wound around the intermediate tubular body D through the impregnated sheet material additional winding process S5 is dried to form a thickened intermediate tubular body E by thickening the intermediate tubular body D, a core material removal process S7 in which the core material B is removed from the thickened intermediate tubular body E, and a finishing process S8 in which the surface of the thickened intermediate tubular body E having a hollow cylindrical shape obtained through the core material removal process S7 is smoothed to form a tube member K.
[0064] Therefore, according to the manufacturing method of this embodiment, the tube member K used in the flute A can be made primarily from lacquer.
[0065] The wall of the pipe member K (the entire area in the wall thickness direction) is mainly made of solidified lacquer. Therefore, the pipe member K obtained by the manufacturing method of this embodiment is not only less susceptible to problems of insect damage caused by insects hiding inside, but also has excellent design freedom for weight reduction.
[0066] In addition, since there is absolutely no risk of insects lurking inside the tube member K, the flute A, which is a wind instrument, can be given an image of cleanliness and holiness, and the user can use it with peace of mind.
[0067] Furthermore, when the main material is wood, localized dents and unevenness may occur due to the so-called “grain thinning” phenomenon, but the manufacturing method of the pipe member K of this embodiment does not cause such problems.
[0068] Furthermore, with the manufacturing method of the tubular member K of this embodiment, the tubular member K is made primarily of lacquer, which gives it excellent antibacterial properties and makes it less susceptible to problems such as bad odors caused by the user's saliva, mold growth, and corrosion.
[0069] In other words, the tubular member K obtained by the manufacturing method of the tubular member K of this embodiment can fully exhibit the antibacterial effect, high moisture resistance, and corrosion prevention performance based on the characteristics of lacquer.
[0070] The impregnated sheet material additional winding step S5 and the impregnated sheet material additional drying step S6 are repeated a number of times until the thick-walled intermediate cylindrical body E attains a constant wall thickness dimension w7.
[0071] Therefore, the manufacturing of the pipe member K having a predetermined wall thickness dimension w7 can be flexibly carried out by repeating the additional impregnated sheet material winding process S5 and the additional impregnated sheet material drying process S6.
[0072] The finishing step S8 includes at least a step of polishing the thick-walled intermediate cylindrical body E, and a step of applying lacquer to the surface of the thick-walled intermediate cylindrical body E after the polishing step.
[0073] Therefore, it is possible to preferably obtain a pipe member K having a neatly finished outer surface through the finishing step S8.
[0074] Since the sheet material is mosquito net fabric C, not only can the viscous liquid material U be suitably retained, but also a relatively lightweight pipe member K can be easily obtained.
[0075] Since the viscous liquid material U is made by adding at least abrasive powder and water to lacquer, it is able to be suitably maintained in a state in which it is impregnated into the mosquito net fabric C.
[0076] Since the pipe member K is manufactured by the above-mentioned method for manufacturing the pipe member K, it is unlikely to suffer from problems of insects lurking inside and has an excellent lightweight configuration.
[0077] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above in detail.
[0078] The viscous liquid material may be any material containing lacquer as a main component, and the specific content of the material may be appropriately determined without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0079] The sheet material may be any material that is capable of impregnating and retaining a viscous liquid, and may be, for example, a fabric other than mosquito net fabric, or Japanese paper.
[0080] Furthermore, the specific configuration of each part is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications are possible without departing from the spirit of the present invention. [Explanation of symbols]
