Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a drum-shaped package made of polyphenylene sulfide (hereinafter abbreviated as PPS) monofilament, and more specifically to a drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilament excellent in high-stage processability and final product quality. [Background technology]

[0002] PPS has excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, electrical insulation, and mechanical strength and moldability, making it widely used as a metal replacement material and as a material that can withstand extreme environments. Taking advantage of these properties, it has been proposed to use PPS fiber in industrial materials and base materials such as filters, brush bristles, papermaking dryer canvas, and electrical insulating paper. In particular, PPS monofilament is being actively studied as a replacement for SUS steel wire for filter applications in manufacturing sites of chemicals, electrical / electronics, automobiles, food, precision instruments, pharmaceuticals, medical care, etc.

[0003] Furthermore, in recent years, there has been an increasing demand in the market for more precise filters, and so there is a demand for high-quality PPS monofilament. For this reason, many technologies have been proposed to improve the quality of PPS monofilament. For example, a fine-fineness PPS monofilament that achieves fineness uniformity and high strength through an improved drawing method (Patent Document 1) and a PPS monofilament that reduces the aperture variation rate when processed into a high-precision filter by specifying the abrasion tension (Patent Document 2) have been proposed. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2009-68149 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2017-101365 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] However, although the PPS monofilament described in Patent Document 1 has excellent both fineness uniformity and strength by appropriately controlling the drawing method, the pirn-shaped package exemplified in the examples has a long winding width, and therefore when the PPS monofilament is unwound from the package, the difference in unwinding tension between the pirn end faces becomes large. As a result, when the PPS monofilament is processed into final products such as high-precision filters, quality abnormalities due to the periodicity of the pirn end faces, known as pirn sink marks, occur.

[0006] The PPS monofilament described in Patent Document 2 optimizes the rubbing tension caused by the yarn guide in advanced processing, and although it certainly improves vertical streaks and weft marks caused by uneven shedding fluctuations caused by excessive tension, the focus on lowering the rubbing tension reduces yarn friction, making it difficult to form a package in either a pirn shape or a drum shape when packaged. In particular, in the drum shape, poor unwinding occurs due to yarn dropping from the drum end face or loop drop-out, resulting in a PPS monofilament with poor passability through advanced processes.

[0007] The present invention focuses on poor unwinding from a package of PPS monofilament, and aims to provide a package of PPS monofilament that is excellent in both passability through higher-stage processes and final product quality, which was difficult to achieve with conventional techniques. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention takes the following form. (1) A drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilament having an unwinding tension of 0.2 cN / dtex or less and an unwinding tension variation of 10% or less in terms of coefficient of variation (CV value). (2) A drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament according to (1) above, wherein the elongation of the PPS monofilament is 23% to 40%. Effect of the Invention

[0009] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a package made of PPS monofilament which is excellent in both the ease of passing through higher-stage processes and the quality of the final product. [Brief description of the drawings]

[Figure 6] FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram for calculating the amount of saddle on the surface layer of a drum-shaped package. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] The PPS in the present invention has p-phenylene sulfide as a repeating structural unit, and may contain other copolymer structural units. For example, examples of copolymer structural units include aromatic sulfides such as m-phenylene sulfide, and alkyl- and halogen-substituted derivatives thereof. Other polymers may be added by mixed spinning or composite spinning, and examples of the other polymers include polyesters, polyamides, polyolefins, and polyimides.

[0012] The amount of copolymerization component and the amount of polymer added are preferably 3% by weight or less, and within this range, good heat resistance and chemical resistance can be maintained. The amount of copolymerization component and the amount of polymer added are more preferably 1% by weight or less, and further preferably none are added.

[0013] In the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention, it is important to appropriately control the unwinding tension from the viewpoints of both the ease of passing through higher-stage processes and the quality of the final product. The unwinding tension in the present invention refers to the tension when unwinding a PPS monofilament from a package in a warping or weaving process, and the measurement method will be described with reference to FIG.

[0014] The distance L (unwinding distance) from the end face of the drum-shaped package 1 of the PPS monofilament to the yarn guide 3 is 30 cm, and the unwinding speed is 250 m / min. The unwinding tension indicates the tension (tension meter 4) after passing through the yarn guide 3. The unwinding tension value is the average value obtained in one minute divided by the fineness.

[0015] The variation in unwinding tension was calculated by calculating the standard deviation of the sampled values, dividing it by the average value, and multiplying the result by 100.

[0016] The drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention has an unwinding tension of 0.2 cN / dtex or less. By setting the tension within this range, the PPS monofilament does not get caught on the end surface of the package when unwinding from the package, and quality defects such as punch sink marks can be reduced. Unwinding defects due to missing rings can also be suppressed. If the unwinding tension exceeds 0.2 cN / dtex, quality defects such as punch sink marks and unwinding defects due to missing rings increase.

[0017] In the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention, the unwinding tension variation is 10% or less, preferably 8% or less, in terms of the coefficient of variation (CV value). By setting the value in this range, the variation in the unwinding tension in the warping and weaving processes is reduced, and the unwinding and running of the PPS monofilament is stabilized, thereby reducing quality defects such as vertical streaks and weft marks caused by uneven shedding fluctuations. If the unwinding tension variation exceeds 10% in terms of the coefficient of variation (CV value), the variation in the unwinding tension in the warping and weaving processes is increased, and quality defects such as vertical streaks and weft marks caused by uneven shedding fluctuations increase.

[0018] The package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention has a drum shape. The drum shape in the present invention is different from the pirn shape exemplified in the examples of Patent Document 1, and literally refers to a shape like a drum of a musical instrument, and is classified according to the winding width of the PPS monofilament, the presence or absence of a taper angle, and the helix angle. The drum-shaped package of the present invention is a package wound with a winding width of 200 mm or less, preferably a winding width of 150 mm or less, and more preferably a winding width of 130 mm or less. In addition, it is a package wound with substantially no taper portion, a taper angle of 180°, and a helix angle forming the package of 3° or more. By making the package into a drum shape, quality abnormalities caused by the pirn end surface period called pirn beak can be suppressed. Of course, the smaller the winding width, the better as long as it does not impair the effects of the present invention, but in consideration of the formability of a stable drum package, it is preferable that the winding width is 60 mm or more.

[0019] The elongation of the PPS monofilament in the present invention is preferably 23% to 40%. More preferably, the elongation is 25% to 30%. When the elongation is 23% or more, the flexibility of the PPS monofilament can be maintained, and abrasion on the yarn guide in the spinning process or higher-level process is reduced, enabling more stable spinning and higher-level processing. When the elongation is 40% or less, the strength of the PPS monofilament is high, and not only is it easier to maintain practical durability when processed into a high-precision filter, but it is also more resistant to deformation such as misalignment.

[0020] The strength of the PPS monofilament in the present invention is preferably 3.0 cN / dtex or more, more preferably 3.8 cN / dtex or more. If the strength is 3.0 cN / dtex or more, practical durability is easily maintained when processed into a high-precision filter.

[0021] The corrected fineness of the PPS monofilament in the present invention is preferably 10 dtex to 33 dtex, more preferably 22 dtex to 33 dtex. If the corrected fineness is 10 dtex or more, the strength of the PPS monofilament is easily maintained, and practical durability is easily maintained when processed into a high-precision filter. As long as the effect of the present invention is not impaired, the higher the corrected fineness, the better, but in consideration of a stable manufacturing process for the PPS monofilament, the corrected fineness is preferably 33 dtex or less.

[0022] The PPS monofilament of the present invention can be woven or knitted according to a known method. The structure of the woven or knitted fabric is not limited, but an example of a high-level processing method is to warp the fabric to a desired opening using a warping machine, weft-weave it using a rapier loom or a water jet loom, cut it into a desired shape, and make it into a filter. The filter is preferably used, for example, as an injection filter for an automobile engine or a high-precision filter for medical facilities.

[0023] The method for producing a drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention will be described below. In the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention, the unwinding tension is appropriately controlled. To obtain a drum-shaped package with an appropriately controlled unwinding tension, it is important to control the saddle (ear) and winding hardness of the drum, and from the viewpoint of controlling these, it is preferable to use a direct spinning and drawing method. The direct spinning and drawing method is a production method in which spinning and drawing are successively performed, and the yarn discharged from the spinneret is drawn as it is without being wound up once. The production method will be described below by taking the direct spinning and drawing method as an example.

[0024] When melting PPS, a pressure melter method or an extruder method can be used, but is not particularly limited. The melting temperature can be appropriately determined in consideration of the melting point of the PPS resin, and a preferred melting temperature is a temperature 20°C to 60°C higher than the melting point. The spinning temperature is the same as the melting temperature, and can be appropriately determined in consideration of the melting point of the PPS resin. The spinning temperature here is the so-called heat retention temperature (spin block temperature) at which the polymer piping, metering pump, spinneret, etc. are kept warm.

[0025] The molten PPS resin is weighed and then fed to a spinneret, where it is discharged as PPS monofilament. After the gaseous low polymer components that come out of the discharged PPS monofilament are removed by suction (MO suction), the yarn is cooled to room temperature by blowing cooling air onto it using a yarn cooling device such as a chimney, and then oil is added using an oiling device.

[0026] In order to ensure uniform oiling of the PPS monofilament, the oiling method is roller oiling rather than guide oiling. In this case, the uneven airflow caused by the running PPS monofilament hits the surface of the oiling roller, which can reduce the oil spreading on the oiling roller or cause the PPS monofilament to shake significantly on the oiling roller. This prevents uniform oiling, and increases the possibility of uneven unwinding tension from the drum-shaped package due to poor oiling. For this reason, it is preferable to rectify the accompanying airflow above the oiling roller, for example by surrounding the oiling roller (front, back, left and right) with a box shape (Figs. 2 and 3) or by placing a plate-shaped cover diagonally above the oiling roller (Figs. 4 and 5) to rectify the accompanying airflow that hits the surface of the oiling roller. Although the face-to-face oiling in a preferred embodiment described in Patent Document 2 is certainly effective from the viewpoint of uniform oiling, the loss of spinning tension is very large and it is inferior in terms of stable spinnability.

[0027] The spinning oil used in the present invention may be any oil commonly used in melt spinning, such as emulsion type or straight type. Straight type oil is preferred in terms of reducing unevenness in the unwinding tension from a drum-shaped package. Straight type oil is an oil diluted with mineral oil, typically n-paraffin type, and the dilution rate is preferably 30% by weight to 80% by weight in terms of the addition rate of mineral oil.

[0028] The amount of oil attached to the PPS monofilament in the present invention is preferably 0.4% by weight to 1.3% by weight, more preferably 0.6% by weight to 1.0% by weight, based on the weight of the PPS monofilament. If the amount of oil attached is 0.4% by weight or more, it is possible to suppress processed yarn breakage due to static electricity, abrasion, etc. in the advanced processing step. If the amount of oil attached is 1.3% by weight or less, it is possible to suppress contamination of the yarn path guide (oil residue, etc.) in the advanced processing step.

[0029] The oiled PPS monofilament is subjected to an appropriate spinning draft, and when passing through the stretching rollers, is appropriately stretched according to the speed ratio of the take-up roller and the stretching roller. In order to obtain excellent physical properties, the take-up roller speed is preferably 500 m / min to 2000 m / min, more preferably 1000 m / min to 1500 m / min. The stretch ratio is preferably 2.0 times to 5.0 times, more preferably 3.0 times to 4.0 times.

[0030] During drawing, since the glass transition temperature of the PPS monofilament is as high as about 90° C., it is preferable to perform the drawing while heating, and the heating temperature of the take-up roller is preferably 80° C. to 120° C., and more preferably 90° C. to 120° C. Heat setting after drawing is also preferable, and the heating temperature of the drawing roller is preferably 100° C. to 120° C.

[0031] For winding, a known winding machine can be used, and the winding shape is a drum. From the viewpoint of stable spinning, the winding speed is preferably 3000 m / min to 4500 m / min, and more preferably 3500 m / min to 4300 m / min.

[0032] The PPS monofilament in the present invention is less flexible than nylon monofilament or polyester monofilament, and it is very difficult to thread it on the device in the direct spinning and drawing method. The threading here is an operation required at the start of production, in which the PPS monofilament discharged from the spinneret is threaded on the oiling roller, take-up roller, stretching roller, and winder in this order using a suction gun or the like. In general, threading is performed by setting the take-up roller speed, stretching roller speed, and winding speed to the same speeds as the production conditions. If threading is difficult, a method is adopted in which the speeds of each roller are set low during threading, and the winding tension (tension between the stretching roller and the winder) is increased after threading, and the take-up roller speed and stretching roller speed are gradually increased to the same speeds as the production conditions (ramp-up method).

[0033] PPS monofilament has low flexibility, and if the winding tension is increased after threading, the thread is likely to break due to friction with the thread guide. Therefore, when threading the PPS monofilament, it is preferable to set the take-off roller speed to a speed that is 100 m / min to 300 m / min faster than the speed under the production conditions, more preferably 150 m / min to 250 m / min faster, and then adopt a method of lowering the take-off roller speed to the speed under the production conditions (ramp-down method), and adopt the above-mentioned ramp-up method for the stretching roller speed. This method can increase the flexibility of the PPS monofilament because the draw ratio decreases during threading, and can reduce thread breakage due to friction with the thread guide.

[0034] In order to appropriately control the unwinding tension of the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention, the saddle (edges) of the drum is set to 2 mm or less, more preferably 1 mm or less. The saddle is the amount (height) of edge on the drum surface, and is expressed as saddle (mm) = (A2 - A1) / 2, where A1 is the winding thickness at the center of the drum and A2 is the winding thickness at the end of the drum as shown in Figure 6. By controlling the saddle, the PPS monofilament is less likely to get caught on the package edge during the warping and weaving processes that are performed after unwinding from the package, reducing quality defects such as pierce sink marks. It also suppresses unwinding defects caused by slipping out of the package.

[0035] In order to appropriately control the unwinding tension, the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention has a winding hardness of 65 points to 78 points, preferably 68 points to 73 points. The winding hardness is a value measured on the surface layer of the package using a durometer (type C). By setting the winding hardness in this range, the unwinding tension variation can be suppressed without the occurrence of loop dropout and without the winding density being too high.

[0036] In order to control the saddle (ear standing) and winding hardness of the drum, the following winding tension and winding surface pressure are preferable. The winding tension is the tension between the stretching roller and the winder, and is preferably 0.08 cN / dtex to 0.15 cN / dtex, and more preferably 0.10 cN / dtex to 0.13 cN / dtex. By setting it in this range, winding around the stretching roller during winding (yarn take-up) is suppressed, and the drum does not become too tight, so that an appropriate winding hardness of the drum can be obtained. The unwinding tension is controlled by reducing the catching of monofilaments on each other on the drum surface layer, and quality abnormalities such as piercing marks and unwinding defects such as ring slippage are suppressed. The winding surface pressure is the contact weight applied from the winding machine roller bale to the drum surface during drum winding, and is 10 N to 25 N per drum, and preferably 13 N to 20 N per drum. By keeping the pressure in this range, ring dropout is prevented and edge protrusions on the drum end surface can be suppressed. EXAMPLES

[0037] The present invention will now be described in more detail with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples. The measurement methods used in the examples are as follows.

[0038] A. Unwinding tension, unwinding tension variation (CV value) The unwinding tension was measured by the measurement method shown in Figure 1. The distance L (unwinding distance) from the end face of the PPS monofilament package 1 to the yarn guide 3 was set to 30 cm, and a tension meter 4 (Toray Engineering Co., Ltd., model number TTM-101) was placed at a position 30 cm from the yarn guide 3 (chrome guide manufactured by Yuasa Co., Ltd., model number A208003-R). The PPS monofilament was rotated around the mirror roller 5, and unwinding was performed for 1 minute while controlling the running speed to 250 m / min. The unwinding tension was measured by the tension meter 4, and the average tension value was read from the output using a Yokogawa paperless recorder GP10. (Number of unwinding tension data = 600 pieces). The unwinding tension was calculated by dividing the average value of the 600 pieces of data by the correct fineness described below. The variation in unwinding tension was calculated using the coefficient of variation (CV value), and the standard deviation was calculated from 600 pieces of data, divided by the average unwinding tension, and the result was multiplied by 100.

[0039] B. Correct fineness Calculated in accordance with JIS L 1013(2021)8.3.1 Method A. The official moisture content of PPS was set to 0.2%.

[0040] C. Strength, elongation Measurements were performed using an A&I tensile tester (model RTG-1210) in accordance with JIS L 1013:2021 (chemical fiber filament yarn test method). The gripping distance was 50 cm, and the pulling speed was 50 cm / min. The strength was determined by dividing the maximum point stress by the correct fineness. The elongation was determined by dividing the tensile length at the time when the maximum point stress was shown by 50 cm, and multiplying this by 100. Both the strength and elongation were measured three times, and the average value was calculated.

[0041] D. Saddle This is the amount (height) of roughness on the drum surface. When the winding thickness at the center of the drum is A1 and the winding thickness at the end of the drum is A2, it was calculated using the following formula (see Figure 3). Saddle(mm)=(A2-A1) / 2.

[0042] E. Roll hardness As a durometer, a Rubber Tester (Type C) manufactured by ASKER (Kobunshi Keiki Co., Ltd.) was used, and the durometer was pressed against the surface layer of the package and measured three times, and the average value was calculated.

[0043] F. Warping yarn breakage rate A PPS monofilament package was set on a warping machine, and the number of yarn breakages (including warping machine stoppages due to poor unwinding) when warping 10 million meters of yarn length into a beam at a warping speed of 250 m / min was evaluated on the following four-point scale. S: Thread breakage less than 2 times A: Number of thread breaks: 3 to 5 B: Number of thread breaks: 6 to 10 C: Thread breakage 11 or more times.

[0044] G. Fabric Quality Evaluation The PPS monofilaments were warped using a warping machine and woven using a rapier loom to a density of 380 threads / 2.54 cm. The resulting fabric was cut to a length of 100 cm / 50 cm in the warp and weft directions, and visually evaluated for sink marks, vertical streaks, misalignment, etc. using a Kawakami Seisakusho IR-1800 fabric inspection machine on the following three-level scale. A: There are six or fewer sink marks, vertical streaks, or misalignment. B: There are 7 to 11 sink marks, vertical streaks, or misalignment. C: There are sink marks, vertical streaks, or misalignment in 12 or more places.

[0045] Examples 1 to 5, 9, and 10, Comparative Examples 2 to 4 As the PPS polymer, E2280 (melting point 285° C.) manufactured by Toray Industries, Inc. was dried and the moisture content of the polymer was adjusted to 1300 ppm. This was melted in a pressure melter at a spinning temperature and melting temperature of 310°C. After melting, the mixture was measured and transported using a gear pump and discharged from a spinneret with three holes. The yarn was then cooled to room temperature and solidified using a uniflow chimney, and a straight oil agent (60% diluted with mineral oil consisting of n-paraffin) was added using an oiling roller until the oil adhesion amount was 0.8% by weight. In addition, in order to straighten the accompanying air current around the oil feed roller 7, the oil feed roller was surrounded by box-shaped straightening plates 6 at intervals of 10 cm from the oil feed roller on all sides (see Figures 2 and 3). After oiling, the film was taken up at the speed shown in Table 1 with a take-up roller having a temperature of 90°C, and stretched at the speed and draw ratio shown in Table 1 with a stretching roller having a temperature of 110°C. The winding was performed under the winding tension, winding surface pressure, and winding speed of 3800 m / min shown in Table 1 so as to obtain a package appearance shown in Table 1, thereby obtaining a PPS monofilament package of about 33 dtex.

[0046] The unwinding tension, unwinding tension variation (CV value), saddle and winding hardness of the obtained PPS monofilament package were measured. In addition, the PPS monofilament fineness, strength, and elongation, the number of warp thread breakages when warping and weaving these, and the quality of the fabric were also evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0047] Regarding the roller speeds during threading, the take-off roller speed was set to a speed 200 m / min faster than the take-off roller speed under the manufacturing conditions shown in Table 1, and the stretching roller speed was set to a speed 200 m / min slower than the stretching roller speed under the manufacturing conditions shown in Table 1. After threading, the take-off roller speed was gradually lowered to the take-off roller speed under the manufacturing conditions over 1 minute (ramp-down method). At the same time, a method was adopted in which the stretching roller speed was gradually increased to the stretching roller speed of the manufacturing conditions (ramp-up method), and as a result, no threading failure occurred in any of the examples and comparative examples.

[0048] Example 6 Melt spinning was performed in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a straightening plate 9 cover was placed obliquely above the oil supply roller 7 to straighten the entrained airflow hitting the surface of the oil supply roller (FIGS. 4 and 5), to obtain a drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilaments of about 33 dtex. The unwinding tension, unwinding tension variation (CV value), saddle and winding hardness of the obtained drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilament were measured. In addition, the exact fineness, strength and elongation of the PPS monofilament, the number of warp thread breakages when the PPS monofilament was warped and woven, and the quality of the fabric were also evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0049] As for threading, the same ramp-down method was adopted for the take-up rollers and ramp-up method for the stretching rollers as in Example 1, and no threading failures occurred.

[0050] Example 7 Melt spinning was carried out in the same manner as in Example 1, except that the accompanying airflow straightening above the oiling roller as shown in Figs. 2 and 3 was not carried out, to obtain a drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilaments of about 33 dtex.

[0051] As for threading, the same ramp-down method was adopted for the take-up rollers and ramp-up method for the stretching rollers as in Example 1, and no threading failures occurred.

[0052] Comparative Example 5 Melt spinning was carried out in the same manner as in Example 1, except that guide lubrication was used as the lubrication method, to obtain a drum-shaped package made of PPS monofilaments of about 33 dtex.

[0053] As for threading, the same ramp-down method was adopted for the take-up rollers and ramp-up method for the stretching rollers as in Example 1, and no threading failures occurred.

[0054] Example 8, Comparative Example 1 The PPS monofilament obtained in Example 1 was rewound to the winding width, saddle, and winding hardness shown in Table 1. The unwinding tension and unwinding tension variation (CV value) of the drum-shaped package made of the rewound PPS monofilament were measured. In addition, the exact fineness, strength, and elongation of the PPS monofilament, the number of warp thread breakages when the PPS monofilament was warped and woven, and the quality of the fabric were also evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0055] [Table 1]

[0056] As is clear from the results in Table 1, the drum-shaped package made of the PPS monofilament of the present invention is superior in both passability through higher-stage processes and final product quality, as compared with packages made of conventional PPS monofilaments.
