Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a cat's claw polisher and grinder. More specifically, the present invention relates to a cat's claw polisher and grinder that can polish and grind a cat's claws at the same time. [Background technology]

[0002] Cats have the habit of sharpening their claws to remove the old outer layer of their claws. Shaving their claws is generally referred to as cat claw sharpening or polishing of cat claws. Since sharpening is a habit of cats, when a cat is kept in a general household, the cat will sharpen its claws by digging its claws into walls, pillars, furniture, etc. in the room, which may result in damage to the walls, etc.

[0003] In order to prevent cats from sharpening their claws on walls, pillars, furniture, etc. in a room, a cat claw sharpener has been proposed in recent years, in which, for example, the laminated cross section or wavy folded part of a laminated cardboard formed by stacking and bonding multiple sheets of corrugated cardboard serves as the sharpening part for the claw sharpener, the laminated cardboard is detachably stored in a case so that the sharpening part is exposed to the outside, and the case has a paper piece storage part (see, for example, claim 1 of Patent Document 1).

[0004] However, even if the cat's claws can be sharpened using the cat scratch sharpener, it is not possible to completely prevent the cat from scratching the walls, pillars, furniture, etc. in the room by scratching the said walls, etc., because the cat's sharp claws cannot be ground down.

[0005] Therefore, even if the cat claw sharpener is used, it is necessary to cut the cat's claws separately from the scratcher. However, since cats have a habit of disliking having their claws cut, if you try to cut the cat's claws forcibly, the cat may scratch or bite you, causing injury.

[0006] Therefore, as a claw sharpener that can reduce the number of cats' claws by sharpening them, a cat claw sharpener with abrasives has been proposed, which has the function of sharpening the claws by sandwiching and fixing a material made of laminated cardboard or linen fabric with an abrasive applied to the back side between a core such as a wooden board or laminated cardboard (for example, see claim 1 in Patent Document 2).

[0007] However, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of Patent Document 2, the cat claw sharpener with abrasives is provided with laminated cardboard or linen fabric 4, abrasive material 2, wooden board or laminated cardboard 1, abrasive material 3, and laminated cardboard or linen fabric 5 in that order from the surface, and the abrasive material 2 built into the claw sharpener is not exposed unless the cat scratches and tears the laminated cardboard or linen fabric 4, which is the surface layer, so that the cat's claws cannot be sharpened under normal use. Even if the abrasive material 2 is exposed by scratching and tearing the laminated cardboard or linen fabric 4, which is the surface layer of the cat claw sharpener with abrasives, the cat's paw pads (palms) and claw tips will rub against the rough surface of the abrasive material 2, so the cat will instinctively avoid the claw sharpener and stop using it.

[0008] As another cat claw sharpener, a cat claw sharpener in which a corrugated board and a grit (sand) layer are laminated in direct contact with each other has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 3). Also, Fig. 3 of Patent Document 3 shows a cat claw sharpener in which a corrugated board 25 consisting of a corrugated board sheet 40 and a liner 30 is laminated in direct contact with a grit (sand) layer 100 in which sand particles 150 are sandwiched between two backing sheets 110, and Figs. 4 to 8 show a cat claw sharpener in which a sandpaper piece 160 with sand particles 180 attached to a backing sheet 170 is sandwiched between two liners 30 and laminated.

[0009] However, in the cat claw sharpeners shown in Figures 4, 7, and 8 of Patent Document 3, the surface of the sandpaper piece 160 to which the sand particles 180 are attached is covered with the backing sheet 110, so the cat's claws cannot be sharpened efficiently. In the cat claw sharpener shown in Figure 5, the surface of the sandpaper piece 160 to which the sand particles 180 are attached is covered with the sealing sheet 190, so the cat's claws cannot be sharpened efficiently. In the cat claw sharpener shown in Figure 6, the surfaces of the paper pieces 160 to which the sand particles 180 are attached are stacked on top of each other, so the cat's claws cannot be sharpened efficiently.

[0010] Therefore, in order to enable the cat's claws to be sharpened in the cat claw sharpener, it is conceivable to make the sandpaper pieces 160 protrude higher than the surface of the liner 30. However, if the sandpaper pieces 160 protrude higher than the surface of the liner 30, the protruding sandpaper pieces 160 will come into contact with the cat's paw pads, and the cat will not use the cat claw sharpener because it dislikes the sandpaper pieces 160 coming into contact with its paw pads, and therefore the cat claw sharpener will not be able to fully exhibit its cat claw sharpening effect.

[0011] In addition, in the cat claw sharpener, in order to prevent the sandpaper pieces 160 from coming into contact with the pads of the cat's paws, it is possible to stack the sandpaper pieces 160 and the liner 30 so that the sandpaper pieces 160 are flush with the liner 30, or to stack the sandpaper pieces 160 and the liner 30 so that the sandpaper pieces 160 are recessed from the surface of the liner 30. However, in either case, the cat's claws do not get caught in the sandpaper pieces, and the cat's claws cannot be sharpened efficiently.

[0012] Therefore, in recent years, there has been a strong demand for the development of a cat's claw sharpening and grinding device that allows cats to sharpen their claws and grind their nail tips efficiently. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[Figure 10] 1 is a photograph showing the claws of a cat's front paws after the cat has used the cat's claw filer / grinder of the present invention in Example 1 of the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0018] The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention is a cat's claw polisher / grinder having a polishing / grinding surface on its upper surface for polishing / grinding cat's claws, and has a grinding member having a grinding surface on at least one side for grinding cat's claws, a core and a liner having multiple wave-shaped shapes on their sides, the end face of the grinding member, the end face of the core having a wave-shaped shape and the end face of the liner are formed on the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder, and a space is formed between the grinding surface of the grinding member and the side of the core, and the space is connected to the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder.

[0019] The cat's claw grinder / sharpener of the present invention utilizes the cat's habit of scratching the corrugated surface of the corrugated core of cardboard with its claws. When a cat scratches the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener of the present invention, the cat's claws can be ground by the end face of the grinding member present on the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener, the end face of the core, and the end face of the liner, and the cat's claws can enter the space between the grinding member and the core, grinding the cat's claw tips with the grinding surface of the grinding member present in the space.

[0020] Therefore, when the cat's claw grinder / sharpener of the present invention is used on a cat, the cat will grind its own claws and grind the tips of its nails, eliminating the need for a human to cut the cat's claws with nail clippers, which is a cumbersome task that cats dislike, and therefore the cat's claw grinder / sharpener of the present invention is extremely useful for cat owners.

[0021] In the present invention, the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder is the surface (polishing / grinding surface) on which the cat polishes and grinds its claws. The polishing / grinding of cat's claws means polishing and grinding the cat's claws.

[0022] The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention has an abrasive surface for polishing cat's claws on its upper surface. The abrasive surface is formed by the end surface of the polishing member, the end surface of the corrugated core, and the end surface of the liner, which are present on the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder.

[0023] The grinding member has a grinding surface for grinding the cat's claws on at least one side thereof. The grinding surface may be formed on only one side of the grinding member, or may be formed on both sides of the grinding member. From the viewpoint of efficiently grinding the cat's claws, it is preferable that the grinding surface is formed on both sides of the grinding member.

[0024] The grinding surface of the grinding member may be a surface having an abrasive attached thereto, or may be a surface having projections and recesses that can be used to grind a cat's claws.

[0025] Examples of the grinding member include a grinding member having a grinding surface formed by adhering an abrasive to a base material, a metal file, etc. From the viewpoint of reducing the weight of the cat's claw grinder of the present invention, the grinding member is preferably a grinding member having an abrasive attached to a base material.

[0026] Examples of the abrasives used in the grinding member include natural abrasives such as sand, and artificial abrasives such as alumina particles and silicon carbide particles, but the present invention is not limited by the type of abrasive. The grain size of the abrasive is specified in R6010.

[0027] Examples of substrates used for the grinding member include paper, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, wooden boards, resin boards such as polyvinyl chloride resin, polyester, acrylic resin, and polypropylene, foamed resin (sponge) boards such as acrylic foam and polyurethane foam, rubber boards such as chloroprene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber, and metal boards, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.

[0028] Examples of the grinding member include abrasive paper (sandpaper) specified in JIS R6252, which uses paper as the substrate; abrasive cloth (sand cloth) specified in JIS R6251, which uses cloth as the substrate; waterproof abrasive paper (waterproof (sand) paper) specified in JIS R6253; and grinding members having an abrasive material (abrasive particles) attached to the surface of a substrate such as a wooden board, a resin board, a foamed resin (sponge) board, a rubber board, or a metal board, but the present invention is not limited to these examples. The grinding member is preferably abrasive paper (sandpaper), abrasive cloth, or waterproof abrasive paper, and more preferably abrasive cloth or waterproof abrasive paper.

[0029] When using abrasives such as abrasive paper, abrasive cloth, or waterproof abrasive paper as the abrasive, the abrasive can be used in the following forms: an abrasive folded in half so that the surface to which the abrasive is attached is exposed to the outside; an abrasive folded in half with the inner surfaces of the abrasive bonded together with double-sided adhesive tape, adhesive, or the like; an abrasive folded in half with a base material having elasticity such as sponge or rubber, a reinforcing material such as a resin plate or cardboard sandwiched between the inner surfaces of the abrasive, and a laminated structure in which the abrasive and the reinforcing material are bonded together; an abrasive laminate in which the abrasive is bonded to one or both sides of a base material having elasticity such as sponge or rubber with double-sided adhesive tape, adhesive, or the like. A laminated structure abrasive in which an abrasive is bonded to one or both sides of an elastic base has an advantage that the abrasive can easily capture the tip of a cat's claw on the grinding surface, since its surface has elasticity based on the elastic base. From the viewpoint of efficiently polishing and grinding the cat's claws, the grinding member preferably has a plate-like shape.

[0030] The roughness of the abrasive attached to the surface of the grinding member as specified in JIS R6010 is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and polishing the cat's claws while not causing discomfort to the cat, it is preferably about 60 to 1000 grit, more preferably about 80 to 600 grit, and even more preferably about 100 to 240 grit.

[0031] The grinding member has a grinding surface on at least one side so that the cat's claws can be efficiently ground and polished by rubbing against the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder. The grinding member may also have a grinding surface on its upper surface. From the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and polishing the cat's claws even when the cat's claw grinder is used with the up-down direction reversed toward the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder, it is preferable that the grinding surface is provided on both sides of the grinding member, and more preferably on the upper and both sides of the grinding member.

[0032] In the plane of the cat's claw polisher / grinder, the planar shape of the grinding member is preferably linear from the viewpoint of efficiently polishing / grinding the cat's claws without giving the cat discomfort. Examples of the linear shape include straight lines, curved lines, wavy lines, etc., but the present invention is not limited to such linear shapes. The planar shape of the grinding member is preferably linear from the viewpoint of easily manufacturing the cat's claw polisher / grinder and efficiently polishing / grinding the cat's claws. The line width of the linear grinding member cannot be determined in general because it varies depending on the type of grinding member. The line width of the linear grinding member is preferably 0.5 to 5 mm, more preferably 0.5 to 3 mm, and even more preferably 0.8 to 1.5 mm, from the viewpoint of maintaining the mechanical strength of the grinding member when the cat scratches the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder, efficiently polishing / grinding the cat's claws, and not giving the cat discomfort. In the plane of the cat's claw grinder, the length of the grinding member varies depending on the shape and size of the cat's claw grinder, so it cannot be determined in general terms, and it is therefore preferable to determine it appropriately depending on the shape and size of the cat's claw grinder.

[0033] The grinding members may be formed over the entire width of the cat's claw grinder, may be formed in the center of the cat's claw grinder, or may be formed scattered throughout the cat's claw grinder, and the present invention is not limited by the arrangement of the grinding members in the cat's claw grinder. From the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws, it is preferable that the grinding members are formed over the entire width of the cat's claw grinder or close to it.

[0034] The cat's claw grinder of the present invention has a grinding member, a core having a plurality of wavy shapes on the side, and a liner. The grinding member, the core, and the liner are preferably arranged in the cat's claw grinder so that each surface is perpendicular to the plane of the cat's claw grinder.

[0035] The top surface of the cat's claw grinder / polisher of the present invention (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder / polisher) has an end face of a grinding member, an end face of a corrugated shape of the core, and an end face of a liner, and a space based on the corrugated shape of the core exists between the grinding surface provided on the side of the grinding member and the side of the core, and this space is connected to the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / polisher.Since a cat raises its claws and scratches the top surface of the cat's claw grinder, the tip of the cat's claw gets caught on the grinding member, core, and liner and is grounded, and is also grounded by being rubbed against the grinding surface of the grinding member existing in the space.

[0036] The liner may be a liner generally used for cardboard. The liner usually has a flat shape, but may be curved or may have a shape such as a corrugated shape, as long as the object of the present invention is not hindered. The grinding surface may be formed by adhering the abrasive material to the side of the liner or by attaching an abrasive material such as abrasive paper (sandpaper). When the grinding surface is formed on the side of the liner, the cat's claws rub against the grinding surface, so that the cat's claws can be efficiently ground. The grinding surface may be provided on one side of the liner or on both sides, but it is preferable that the grinding surface is provided on both sides of the liner from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding the cat's claws.

[0037] The core may be a core generally used in corrugated cardboard. The core has a plurality of wave shapes. Examples of the wave shapes of the core include the wave shapes of the cores used in corrugated cardboard as specified in JIS Z1516 (2003), but the present invention is not limited to these examples.

[0038] The number of liners and cores varies depending on the shape and size of the cat's claw polisher / grinder and cannot be determined in general terms, so it is preferable to determine them appropriately depending on the shape and size of the cat's claw polisher / grinder.

[0039] The grinding member, the core and the liner can be integrated together by bonding their respective contact points with an adhesive.

[0040] The surface on which the end face of the grinding member, the end face of the corrugated core, and the end face of the liner are present is the polishing / grinding surface of the cat's claw. Also, the surface on which the end face of the grinding member is not present and on which the end face of the corrugated core and the end face of the liner are present is the polishing surface of the cat's claw.

[0041] The surface (grinding surface) on which the end face of the grinding member, the end face having a wavy shape of the core and the end face of the liner are present may be formed only on the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder, or may be formed on both the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw grinder.

[0042] When the surface (polishing / grinding surface) on which the end faces of the grinding members, the end faces of the corrugated core and the end faces of the liner are present is formed only on the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder), its lower surface (the back surface of the cat's claw grinder) may be a surface (polishing surface) on which the end faces of the grinding members are not present and on which the end faces of the corrugated core and the end faces of the liner are present, or it may be a flat surface on which none of the end faces of the grinding members, the end faces of the corrugated core and the end faces of the liner are present, such as the surface of paper.

[0043] When the underside of the cat's claw grinder (the back side of the cat's claw grinder) is a surface (grinding surface) where there is no end face of the grinding member and where there is an end face having a corrugated shape of the core and an end face of the liner, the cat's claws can be ground and polished on the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder). When grinding the cat's claws without grinding them, the cat's claws can be turned over and the cat's claws can be ground on the underside of the cat's claw grinder (the back side of the cat's claw grinder). In this way, if the underside of the cat's claw grinder (the back side of the cat's claw grinder) is a surface (grinding surface) where there is no end face of the grinding member and where there is an end face with a wavy shape of the core and an end face of the liner, before the cat uses the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder) and the cat's claws are ground down excessively, the cat's claw grinder can be turned over so that the surface (grinding surface) where the end face with the wavy shape of the core and the end face of the liner are the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder) can be used to prevent excessive grinding of the cat's claws.

[0044] Therefore, from the standpoint of allowing the cat to continue grinding its claws using the cat's claw grinder of the present invention after the cat has finished grinding its claws, it is preferable that the top surface of the cat's claw grinder (the flat surface of the cat's claw grinder) is a surface (grinding / grinding surface) on which the end faces of the grinding members, the end face having the wavy shape of the core, and the end face of the liner are present, and that the bottom surface of the cat's claw grinder (the back surface of the cat's claw grinder) is a surface (grinding surface) on which the end faces of the grinding members are not present, and on which the end face having the wavy shape of the core and the end face of the liner are present.

[0045] In addition, if the end faces of the grinding material, the end face of the core having a wavy shape and the end face of the liner are formed on both the upper and lower faces of the cat's claw grinder, when the upper face is damaged by a cat's claws, the lower face of the cat's claw grinder can be effectively utilized by flipping the upper and lower faces over, thereby extending the life of the cat's claw grinder.

[0046] There are individual differences in the direction in which cats prefer to scratch the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder with their claws. Therefore, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws, it is preferable that the side of the grinding member of the cat's claw grinder is arranged in a direction intersecting the direction in which the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder is scratched with its claws. The direction intersecting the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws means a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws and a direction slightly inclined from perpendicular to the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws. In addition, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws, it is preferable that the liner of the cat's claw grinder is arranged in a direction parallel to the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws. The direction parallel to the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws means a direction parallel to the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws and a direction slightly inclined from the direction in which the cat scratches with its claws.

[0047] The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention is constructed as described above. The size and shape of the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention are not particularly limited, and can be appropriately adjusted depending on the location where the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 is used.

[0048] The planar shape of the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention may be rectangular, circular, elliptical, triangular, other polygonal, or irregular. The three-dimensional shape of the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, a standard rectangular parallelepiped, a cube, a three-dimensional shape with a cross-sectional shape of the letter S or U, or a cylindrical, spherical, conical, or other shape. The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention may be disposed on the sofa surface of a cat bed.

[0049] Examples of the size of the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention include a rectangular parallelepiped with a length of 20 to 80 cm and a width of 10 to 30 cm, a cylindrical body with a circular planar shape and a diameter of 20 to 80 cm, etc. The thickness of the cat's claw polisher / grinder is not particularly limited, but is preferably about 1 to 10 cm, for example, in consideration of the usability and mechanical strength of the cat's claw polisher / grinder.

[0050] The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention may be mounted in a mold to fix it. The cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention may also be inserted into a cylindrical body for use. It is preferable that an exposure window is provided on the side of the cylindrical body to expose the cat's claw polisher / grinder to the outside, and an inlet for the cat's claw polisher / grinder is provided in the opening to insert or remove the cat's claw polisher / grinder. Both the mold and the cylindrical body can be made of cardboard, cardboard, polypropylene, acrylic resin, polyester, AS resin, ABS resin, or other resin, wood, or the like.

[0051] When the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention is fixed within a formwork and used, the used cat's claw polisher / grinder can be removed from the formwork and replaced with a new cat's claw polisher / grinder which can then be installed into the formwork, allowing the formwork to be reused.

[0052] In addition, the cat's claw filer / grinder of the present invention may be manufactured divided into a number of blocks so that a damaged cat's claw filer / grinder block can be replaced with a new cat's claw filer / grinder block.

[0053] The cat's claw filer / grinder of the present invention can be used by standing it up vertically relative to the floor surface on which it is placed. In this case, a stand for preventing the cat's claw filer / grinder from falling over may be attached to the surface of the cat's claw filer / grinder that comes into contact with the floor surface, and the cat's claw filer / grinder may be provided with a mounting device such as a hook for mounting it to a pillar, wall, etc., or with a mounting means such as a double-sided adhesive tape.

[0054] The cat's claw polishing / grinder of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments shown in the drawings, and the present invention may have embodiments other than the embodiments shown in the drawings within the scope of the present invention.

[0055] A first embodiment of the cat's claw filer / grinder of the present invention is shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a schematic plan view showing one embodiment of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 of the present invention. Fig. 2 is a schematic enlarged view of a portion surrounded by a circle X of the cat's claw filer / grinder shown in Fig. 1.

[0056] In a first embodiment of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the present invention, as shown in Fig. 2, the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 has a grinding member 2 having a grinding surface 2a for grinding cat's claws on at least one side, a core 3 having a plurality of wave shapes on the side, and a liner 4. On the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, an end surface of the grinding member 2, an end surface of the core 3 having a wave shape, and an end surface of the liner 4 are formed. A space S is formed between the grinding surface 2a of the grinding member 2 and the side surface 3a of the core 3, and the space S is connected to the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1.

[0057] The cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the first embodiment has a laminated cardboard 5 in which a plurality of cores 3 and a plurality of liners 4 are alternately stacked, as shown in Fig. 2. The grinding member 2 is provided between the plurality of laminated cardboards 5 in a direction perpendicular to the liners 4 of the laminated cardboards 5.

[0058] The grinding member 2 and the laminated cardboard 5 may be fixed by pressing them together to prevent them from slipping when a cat scratches the surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 with its claws, or the grinding member 2 and the laminated cardboard 5 may be integrated with an adhesive such as an adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape. When the grinding member 2 and the laminated cardboard 5 are integrated with an adhesive, it is preferable to prevent the adhesive from adhering to the portion of the grinding member 2 that comes into contact with the cat's claws, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and sharpening the cat's claws with the grinding member 2.

[0059] 2, the laminated corrugated cardboard 5 has a plurality of corrugations 3 and a plurality of liners 4 stacked adjacent to each other. For example, in a laminated corrugated cardboard 5 having three layers of corrugations 3, the corrugations 3 and liners 4 are stacked in the following order: liner 4, corrugations 3, liner 4, corrugations 3, liner 4, corrugations 3 and liner 4. The contact area between the corrugations 3 and liners 4 can be bonded with an adhesive in the same manner as in commonly used corrugated cardboard.

[0060] For example, corrugated board as specified in JIS Z1516 (2003) can be used for the laminated corrugated board 5. There are mainly two-sided corrugated board and double-sided corrugated board, but either can be used in the present invention. Types of corrugated board include, for example, A-column (symbol: AF), B-column (symbol: BF), and C-column (symbol: CF) as specified in JIS Z1516 (2003), but the present invention is not limited to these examples.

[0061] The distance L between adjacent grinding members 2 shown in FIG. 1 is preferably about 10 to 100 mm, more preferably about 20 to 50 mm, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws and not giving the cat discomfort. The number of grinding members 2 provided in the cat's claw grinder 1 varies depending on the shape and size of the cat's claw grinder 1 and cannot be determined in general, so it is preferable to determine it appropriately according to the shape and size of the cat's claw grinder 1. From the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws, the number of grinding members 2 is preferably 5 or more, more preferably 10 or more, and the upper limit value varies depending on the size of the cat's claw grinder 1 and cannot be determined in general, but is usually preferably 100 or less, more preferably 50 or less, and even more preferably 30 or less.

[0062] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the end of the grinding member 2 is provided so as to be exposed on the upper surface of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1. For example, as shown in Figure 3, a recess (not shown) may be provided on the upper surface of the laminated cardboard 5, or a through hole (not shown) may be provided in the laminated cardboard 5, and the grinding member 2 may be inserted into the recess or through hole so as to form a space S between the grinding member 2 and the core 3. Also, as shown in Figure 4, the grinding member 2 may be sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated cardboard 5a so as to form a space S.

[0063] 3 is a schematic explanatory diagram of a vertical cross section of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 of the present invention, in which a recess (not shown) is provided on the top surface of the laminated cardboard 5, or a through hole (not shown) is provided in the laminated cardboard 5, and the grinding member 2 is inserted into the recess or through hole so as to form a space S between the grinding member 2 and the core 3. FIG. 4 is a schematic explanatory diagram of a vertical cross section of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 of the present invention, in which the grinding member 2 is sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated cardboard 5a so as to form a space S.

[0064] In Figure 3, (a) is a schematic explanatory diagram of a vertical cross section of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1 when the grinding member 2 protrudes from the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1, (b) is a schematic explanatory diagram of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1 when the grinding member 2 is provided inside the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1, and (c) is a schematic explanatory diagram of a vertical cross section of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1 when the grinding member 2 is provided so as to be flush with the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / grinder 1.

[0065] In the present invention, the grinding member 2 may protrude from the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 as shown in FIG. 3(a), or may be provided inside the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 as shown in FIG. 3(b), or may be formed so as to be flush with the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 as shown in FIG. 3(c).

[0066] In the cat's claw grinder 1 shown in FIG. 3, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws and not giving the cat discomfort, the grinding member 2 is preferably provided inside the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw grinder 1 as shown in FIG. 3(b) or formed so as to be flush with the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1 as shown in FIG. 3(c), and more preferably provided inside the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw grinder 1 as shown in FIG. 3(b). In the cat's claw grinder 1 shown in FIG. 3(b), the lower surface of the grinding member 2 may be formed so as to be flush with the lower surface of the cat's claw grinder 1. In the cat's claw grinder 1 shown in FIG. 3(c), the grinding member 2 may be provided inside the lower surface of the cat's claw grinder 1. In addition, in the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 3, a grinding surface (not shown) is formed on the side surface of the grinding member 2 .

[0067] In the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 shown in FIG. 3(a), the height of the grinding member 2 protruding from the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 is preferably 0 to 1 mm, and more preferably 0 to 0.5 mm, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and sharpening the cat's claws while avoiding causing discomfort to the cat.

[0068] 3(b), the depth from the top surface of the cat's claw grinder 1 to the position where the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 is present is preferably 8 mm or less, more preferably 5 mm or less, and even more preferably 3 mm or less, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws. Also, the depth from the top surface of the cat's claw grinder 1 to the position where the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 is present is preferably 1 mm or more, and more preferably 2 mm or more, from the viewpoint of preventing the cat's claws from being ground excessively.

[0069] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in Fig. 4, the grinding member 2 is sandwiched between the core 3 of a laminated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated cardboard 5a so that a space S is formed between them. The space S between a grinding surface (not shown) on the side of the grinding member 2 and the side of the core 3 is formed by the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 and the wavy shape of the side of the core 3.

[0070] In the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 shown in Figure 4, similarly to the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 shown in Figure 3, it is preferable that a recess (not shown) is provided on the upper surface of the laminated cardboard 5, or a through hole (not shown) is provided in the laminated cardboard 5, and the grinding member 2 is inserted into the recess or through hole so that a space S is formed between the grinding member 2 and the core 3.

[0071] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 4, the upper and lower surfaces of the grinding member 2 are on the same plane as the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1. The upper and lower surfaces of the grinding member 2 may protrude from the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, or may be provided inside the upper and lower surfaces of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1. From the viewpoint of efficiently polishing and grinding the cat's claws and not giving the cat discomfort, the grinding member 2 is preferably formed so as to be on the same plane as the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, or provided inside the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1. In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 4, a grinding surface (not shown) is formed on the side surface of the grinding member 2.

[0072] In the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 shown in FIG. 4, when grinding members 2 protrude from the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1, the height of the protruding grinding members 2 is preferably about 0 to 1 mm, and more preferably about 0 to 0.5 mm, from the viewpoints of efficiently grinding and sharpening the cat's claws while not causing discomfort to the cat.

[0073] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in Fig. 4, when the grinding member 2 is present inside the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the depth from the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the position where the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 is present is preferably 8 mm or less, more preferably 5 mm or less, and even more preferably 3 mm or less, from the viewpoint of efficiently polishing and grinding the cat's claws. Also, the depth from the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the position where the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 is present is preferably 1 mm or more, and more preferably 2 mm or more, from the viewpoint of preventing the cat's claws from being excessively polished.

[0074] From the viewpoint of increasing the production efficiency of the cat's claw grinder 1, it is preferable that the grinding member 2 is sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated cardboard 5a as shown in Fig. 4. Also, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and polishing cat's claws, it is preferable that a plate-shaped grinding member is used as the grinding member 2, and that the grinding member 2 is disposed in the cat's claw grinder 1 in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the cat's claw grinder 1 as shown in Figs.

[0075] The grinding member 2 may be adhered to the laminated cardboard 5, for example, by applying an adhesive to the inner surface of a recess or through hole in the laminated cardboard 5, or to the grinding member 2, and then inserting the grinding member 2 into the recess or through hole. Alternatively, multiple laminated cardboard boards 5 may be used, and adhesive may be applied to the contact area between the side of the core 3 of the laminated cardboard boards 5 and the side of the grinding member 2, to adhere the side of the core 3 to the side of the grinding member 2.

[0076] 1 and 2, the arrangement directions of the core 3 and the liner 4 are parallel, and the arrangement directions of the grinding members 2 and the liner 4 are perpendicular to each other. As shown in FIG. 2, a space S is formed between the grinding surface 2a of the grinding member 2 and the side surface 3a of the core 3, and the space S is connected to the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1. Therefore, when a cat scratches the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1 with its paws, the cat's claws enter the space S and rub against the grinding surface 2a of the grinding member 2 present in the space S, so that the cat's claws can be ground efficiently.

[0077] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the grinding member 2 and the liner 4 are disposed in a perpendicular direction. The angle θ between the grinding member 2 and the liner 4 shown in Fig. 2 is ideally a right angle (90°). However, the angle θ does not necessarily have to be a right angle, and is preferably 45 to 90°, more preferably 60 to 90°, and even more preferably 90°.

[0078] The cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 1 is fixed within a mold 6 when used.

[0079] A second embodiment of the cat's claw filer / grinder of the present invention is shown in Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a schematic plan view showing one embodiment of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 of the present invention. Fig. 6 is a schematic enlarged view of a portion surrounded by a circle Y of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 shown in Fig. 5.

[0080] 5 and 6, cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 has a grinding member 2 having a grinding surface on its side for grinding a cat's claws, a corrugated core 3, and a flat liner 4. The end face of the grinding member 2, the corrugated end face of the core 3, and the end face of the liner 4 are formed on the upper surface of cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 (the flat surface of cat's claw polisher / grinder 1).

[0081] The grinding members 2, the cores 3, and the liners 4 are stacked in parallel. The side of the liner 4 contacts the side of the core 3, and the side of the grinding members 2 contacts the side of the core 3. It is preferable that both side surfaces of the grinding members 2 contact the side of the core 3. As shown in FIG. 6, a space G is formed between the grinding surface 2a of the grinding members 2 and the side surface 3a of the core 3. The space G is connected to the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1.

[0082] The cores 3 and liners 4 are stacked to form a laminate. The laminate of the cores 3 and liners 4 can be made of the laminate of the laminated cardboard 5. The laminated cardboard 5 is formed by stacking a plurality of cores 3 and a plurality of liners 4 adjacent to each other in an alternating manner. The configuration of the laminated cardboard 5 is preferably the same as that described above.

[0083] The distance L between adjacent grinding members 2 shown in FIG. 5 is preferably about 10 to 100 mm, more preferably about 20 to 50 mm, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws and not giving the cat discomfort.

[0084] The end of the grinding member 2 is provided so as to be exposed on the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1. The grinding member 2 may be inserted into a recess (not shown) or a through hole (not shown) provided on the upper surface of the laminated corrugated cardboard 5 as shown in Fig. 3, or may be sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated corrugated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated corrugated cardboard 5a as shown in Fig. 4. When the grinding member 2 is sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated corrugated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated corrugated cardboard 5a, a space S is formed between the grinding surface formed on the side of the grinding member 2 and the corrugated side of the core 3 as shown in Fig. 4.

[0085] From the viewpoint of increasing the mechanical strength of the laminated cardboard 5, it is preferable that a recess or a through hole is provided on the upper surface of the laminated cardboard 5, and the grinding member 2 is inserted into the recess or through hole. From the viewpoint of increasing the production efficiency of the cat's claw grinder 1, it is preferable that the grinding member 2 is sandwiched between the core 3 of the laminated cardboard 5 and the core 3 of another laminated cardboard 5a as shown in Fig. 4. Also, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding cat's claws, it is preferable that a plate-shaped grinding member is used as the grinding member 2, and the grinding member 2 is disposed in the cat's claw grinder 1 perpendicular to the plane of the cat's claw grinder 1 as shown in Figs. 3 and 4.

[0086] The grinding member 2 may be adhered to the laminated cardboard 5, for example, by applying an adhesive to the inner surface of a recess or through hole in the laminated cardboard 5, or to the grinding member 2, and then inserting the grinding member 2 into the recess or through hole. Alternatively, multiple laminated cardboard boxes 5 may be used, and adhesive may be applied to the interface between the laminated cardboard boxes 5 and the grinding member 2 to adhere the laminated cardboard boxes 5 and the grinding member 2.

[0087] The grinding member 2 is preferably similar to the embodiment of the grinding member 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 previously described.

[0088] In the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, a plurality of grinding members 2, a plurality of cores 3, and a plurality of liners 4 are stacked in parallel. As shown in Fig. 6, a space G is formed between the grinding surface 2a of the grinding member 2 and the side surface 3a of the core 3, and the space G is connected to the upper surface of the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1. Therefore, when a cat scratches the upper surface of the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 with its paws, the cat's claws enter the space G, and the cat's claws are rubbed against the grinding surface 2a of the grinding member 2 present in the space G and are ground, so that the cat's claws can be ground efficiently. The width of the grinding member 2 and the width of the grinding member 2' shown in Fig. 6 are different, but they may be the same or different.

[0089] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the grinding member 2, core 3, and liner 4 are each stacked in parallel, but may also be stacked so as to have an inclination angle therebetween as long as the objective of the present invention is not impeded.

[0090] The cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 5 is used while being fixed in a formwork 6. A plurality of laminated cardboard boxes 5 may be prepared as the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the present invention, and damaged laminated cardboard boxes 5 may be replaced with new laminated cardboard boxes 5. In this case, the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the present invention may be fixed by providing an attachment flange 7 at an end of the laminated cardboard box 5, as shown in FIG. 5, and inserting the attachment flange 7 into a fixing member 8 arranged in the formwork 6. Examples of the fixing member 8 include elastic bodies made of rubber, sponge, elastomer, etc., and resin molded products such as polypropylene, vinyl chloride resin, AS resin, and ABS resin, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.

[0091] Furthermore, the grinding member 2 of the cat's claw grinder 1 may be used as the mounting flange 7. When the grinding member 2 is used as the mounting flange 7, the grinding member 2 of the damaged cat's claw grinder 1 can be removed from the fixing member 8 and replaced with a new cat's claw grinder 1.

[0092] A third embodiment of the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the present invention is shown in Fig. 7. In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the third embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of polishing members 2, a plurality of cores 3, and a plurality of liners 4 are each stacked concentrically. The side of the liner 4 contacts the side of the core 3, and the side of the polishing members 2 contacts the side of the core 3. A space D is formed between the polishing surface of the polishing members 2 and the side of the core 3, and the space D communicates with the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1.

[0093] The cat's claw polishing and grinding device 1 of the third embodiment differs from the cat's claw polishing and grinding device 1 of the second embodiment in that, in the cat's claw polishing and grinding device 1 of the third embodiment, multiple polishing members 2, multiple cores 3 and multiple liners 4 are each stacked concentrically, whereas in the cat's claw polishing and grinding device 1 of the second embodiment, multiple polishing members 2, multiple cores 3 and multiple liners 4 are each stacked in parallel.

[0094] The cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the third embodiment is preferably similar to the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the second embodiment, except that, in comparison with the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the second embodiment, a plurality of polishing members 2, a plurality of cores 3, and a plurality of liners 4 are each stacked concentrically.

[0095] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder of the third embodiment, the plurality of grinding members 2, the plurality of cores 3 and the plurality of liners 4 can be integrated together with an adhesive.

[0096] The laminated corrugated cardboard 5 can be used for the laminate of the cores 3 and liners 4. The laminated corrugated cardboard 5 is formed by alternately and adjacently laminating a plurality of cores 3 and a plurality of liners 4. The configuration of the laminated corrugated cardboard 5 is preferably the same as that described above.

[0097] The grinding member 2, core 3, and liner 4 of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 are arranged concentrically, but they do not necessarily have to be completely concentric, and they may each be distorted within a range that does not impede the objective of the present invention.

[0098] The interval between adjacent grinding members 2 is preferably the same as the interval L between the grinding members 2 of the cat's claw grinder 1 shown in Fig. 1. The number of grinding members 2 provided in the cat's claw grinder 1 varies depending on the size of the cat's claw grinder 1 and cannot be determined in general, so it is preferable to determine it appropriately depending on the size of the cat's claw grinder 1 and the like.

[0099] The grinding member 2 may protrude from the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1, may be provided inside the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1, or may be formed so as to be flush with the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1, similarly to the cat's claw grinder 1 shown in Fig. 1. Among these embodiments of the cat's claw grinder 1, from the viewpoint of efficiently grinding and grinding the cat's claws and not causing discomfort to the cat, it is preferable that the grinding member 2 is formed so as to be flush with the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1 or is provided inside the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1, and it is more preferable that the grinding member 2 is provided inside the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder 1.

[0100] In the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 shown in FIG. 7, when grinding members 2 protrude from the upper surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1, the height of the protruding grinding members 2 is preferably about 0 to 1 mm, and more preferably about 0 to 0.5 mm, from the viewpoints of efficiently grinding and sharpening the cat's claws while not causing discomfort to the cat.

[0101] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in Fig. 7, when the grinding member 2 is present inside the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the depth from the upper surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the position where the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 is present is preferably 8 mm or less, more preferably 5 mm or less, and even more preferably 3 mm or less, from the viewpoint of efficiently polishing and grinding the cat's claws.

[0102] In the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in Figure 7, a space D is formed between the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 and the side of the center core 3, so that the cat's claws can enter the space D and rub against the grinding surface of the grinding member 2 present in the space D, thereby efficiently grinding the cat's claws.

[0103] The size of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 is not particularly limited, and can be adjusted appropriately depending on the place where the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 is used. An example of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the present invention is a cat's claw polisher / grinder having a circular planar shape with an outer diameter of 20 to 80 cm and a cylindrical shape with a thickness of about 1 to 10 cm. A space P exists in the center of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 shown in FIG. 7. A core material (not shown) for fixing the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to a substrate (not shown) may be inserted into the space P as necessary.

[0104] As described above, the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 of the present invention utilizes the cat's habit of scratching the top surface of cardboard with its claws. The cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1 of the present invention has a grinding member having a grinding surface for grinding the cat's claws on at least one side, a core having a plurality of wave shapes on the side, and a liner, the end face of the grinding member, the end face having the wave shape of the core, and the end face of the liner are formed on the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener, a space is formed between the grinding surface of the grinding member and the side face of the core, and the space is connected to the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener, so that when the cat scratches the top surface of the cat's claw grinder / sharpener 1, the claws are ground and the tips of the claws are ground at the same time, eliminating the need for a human to cut the cat's claws with a nail clipper, which is a cumbersome task that cats dislike, as in the past.

[0105] Therefore, the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the present invention is expected to be extremely useful for cat owners, cat lovers, and the like. EXAMPLES

[0106] Next, the present invention will be described in more detail based on examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.

[0107] Example 1 A cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 was produced. More specifically, a corrugated cardboard having a core 3 and a liner 4 of B-grade (symbol: BF) was prepared as the corrugated cardboard, and a rectangular parallelepiped cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 having a length of 50 cm, a width of 12 cm, and a height of 3 cm was produced. In addition, a polishing member (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: about 2 mm) was used as the polishing member 2, which was made by folding waterproof (sand) paper (grain size: #100) in half so that the polishing surface was located on the outside, and attaching the folded inner surfaces to each other with adhesive tape on both sides (manufactured by Nitoms Corporation, product number: T4010). On the top surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, 18 notches (recesses) were made at equal intervals of 2.5 cm, each 11 cm wide and 3 cm deep, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a grinding member 2 was inserted into each notch so that the depth from the top surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the top end of the grinding member 2 was 2 mm. Since no grinding member 2 was provided on the bottom surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the end face of the core 3 and the end face of the liner 4 were present.

[0108] The cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (polishing / grinder surface) facing upwards, and the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 was allowed to be used freely by a pet cat for five days. Figure 8 shows the state of the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws before and after using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1. It was confirmed that the tips of the claws 9 on the cat's front paws were sharp before using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1, as shown in Figure 8(a), whereas after using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1, they were ground down, as shown in Figure 8(b).

[0109] FIG. 9 shows a photo of the top surface of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 after the cat was allowed to freely use the cat's claw filer / grinder 1 for five days, and FIG. 10 shows a photo of the claws on the cat's front paws. As shown in FIG. 9, scratches caused by the cat's claws were found on the top surface of the cat's claw filer / grinder 1. Also, as shown in the circled area in FIG. 10, it can be seen that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were efficiently ground down by using the cat's claw filer / grinder 1.

[0110] After using the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 are inverted, so that the cat's claws can be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0111] Example 2 A cat's claw polisher / grinder was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a polishing member (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: approximately 0.5 mm) was used as the polishing member, which was made by folding an abrasive cloth (grain size: No. 80) in half so that the polishing surface was facing outward, and sandwiching and adhering a 0.15 mm thick polypropylene sheet to the inner surface of the folded portion.

[0112] The cat's claw grinder obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (grinding surface) facing upwards in the same manner as in Example 1, and the cat's claw grinder was allowed to be used freely by a pet cat for 5 days. As a result, it was confirmed that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were sharp as shown in Figure 8(a) before using the cat's claw grinder, as in Example 1, but were ground down as shown in Figure 8(b) after using the cat's claw grinder. This shows that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were efficiently ground down by using the cat's claw grinder.

[0113] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0114] Example 3 A cat's claw polisher / grinder was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a polishing member (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: approximately 0.5 mm) was used as the polishing member, which was made by folding an abrasive cloth (grain size: No. 240) in half so that the polishing surface was facing outward, and sandwiching and adhering a 0.15 mm thick polypropylene sheet to the inner surface of the folded portion.

[0115] The cat's claw grinder obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (grinding surface) facing upwards in the same manner as in Example 1, and the cat's claw grinder was allowed to be used freely by a pet cat for 5 days.

[0116] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0117] Example 4 A cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 was produced according to the embodiment shown in Fig. 1. More specifically, a corrugated cardboard having a core 3 and a liner 4 of B-grade (symbol: BF) was prepared as the corrugated cardboard, and waterproof (sand) paper (grain size: #100) was used as the grinding member 2.

[0118] One side of a double-sided adhesive tape (manufactured by Nitoms Corporation, product number: T4010) was attached to the back surface of the waterproof (sand) paper, and then the release paper from the double-sided adhesive tape attached to the waterproof (sand) paper was peeled off to expose the adhesive surface of the double-sided adhesive tape.

[0119] In the grinding member 2 located at the center upward of the page in Figure 1, waterproof (sand) paper was placed with the grinding surface facing upwards and the adhesive side of the waterproof (sand) paper was attached to the cardboard, the grinding surface of the waterproof (sand) paper was in contact with the core 3 of the cardboard adjacent to the grinding surface, and the grinding surface and the adjacent cardboard were placed so that the depth from the top surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the top end of the waterproof (sand) paper was 2 mm. In addition, in the grinding member 2 located from the center downward on the paper surface of Figure 1, waterproof (sand) paper was placed with the grinding surface of the waterproof (sand) paper facing downward and the adhesive side of the waterproof (sand) paper was attached to the cardboard, the grinding surface of the waterproof (sand) paper was in contact with the core 3 of the cardboard adjacent to the grinding surface, and the grinding surface and the adjacent cardboard were placed so that the depth from the top surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the top end of the waterproof (sand) paper was 2 mm.

[0120] The cardboard boxes were arranged so that the waterproof (sand) paper was positioned at equal intervals of 2.5 cm perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the top surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, to create a rectangular parallelepiped cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 with a length of 50 cm, a width of 12 cm, and a height of 3 cm. The bottom surface of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 does not have the grinding member 2, so the end face of the core 3 and the end face of the liner 4 are present.

[0121] Next, the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (polishing / grinder surface) facing upward, and the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 was allowed to be used freely by a pet cat for five days. As a result, it was confirmed that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were sharp as shown in FIG. 8(a) before using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1, as in Example 1, whereas after using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1, they were ground down as shown in FIG. 8(b). This shows that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were ground down efficiently by using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1.

[0122] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0123] Example 5 A cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 was produced according to the embodiment shown in Fig. 5. More specifically, a single-sided corrugated cardboard having a core 3 and a liner 4 of B grade (symbol: BF) was prepared as the corrugated cardboard, and the core 3, liner 4 and grinding member 2 were arranged in parallel with each other so that both sides of the grinding member 2 were in contact with the core 3 of the single-sided corrugated cardboard, thereby producing a rectangular parallelepiped cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 having a length of 50 cm, a width of 12 cm and a height of 3 cm.

[0124] The grinding member 2 was a grinding member (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: approximately 2 mm) made by folding waterproof (sand) paper (grain size: 100) in half so that the grinding surface was facing outward, and attaching the inner surfaces of the folded paper to each other with adhesive tape (manufactured by Nitto Corporation, product number: T4010).The depth from the top of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the top end of the grinding member 2 was adjusted to 2 mm, and the grinding members 2 were arranged at equal intervals of 2.5 cm perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1.

[0125] The cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (polishing / grinder surface) facing upwards. A pet cat was allowed to freely use the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 for five days. As a result, it was confirmed that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were sharp before using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 as shown in Figure 8(a), whereas after using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1, they were ground down as shown in Figure 8(b). This shows that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws are ground down efficiently by using the cat's claw polishing / grinder 1.

[0126] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0127] Example 6 A cat's claw polisher / grinder was produced in the same manner as in Example 5, except that a polishing cloth (grain size: No. 180) was folded in half so that the polishing surface was facing outward, and a polypropylene sheet having a thickness of 0.15 mm was sandwiched and adhered to the inner surface of the folded cloth (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: approximately 0.5 mm) was used as the polishing member.

[0128] The cat's claw polisher / grinder obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (polishing / grinder surface) facing upwards in the same manner as in Example 5, and the cat's claw polisher / grinder was allowed to be used freely by a pet cat for 5 days. As a result, it was confirmed that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were sharp as shown in Figure 8(a) before use of the polisher / grinder, whereas after use of the cat's claw polisher / grinder, they were ground down as shown in Figure 8(b). This shows that the tips of the claws on the cat's front paws were ground down efficiently by using the cat's claw polisher / grinder.

[0129] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0130] Example 7 A cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 was produced according to the embodiment shown in Fig. 7. More specifically, a single-faced corrugated cardboard having a core 3 and a liner 4 of B grade (symbol: BF) was prepared as the corrugated cardboard, and the cardboard was rolled up into a circle so that both sides of the grinding member 2 were in contact with the core 3 of the single-faced cardboard, thereby producing a cylindrical cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 having a diameter of 30 cm in plan view and a height of 3 cm.

[0131] The grinding member 2 was a grinding member (length: 10.8 cm, width: 2.8 cm, thickness: approximately 2 mm) made by folding waterproof (sand) paper (grain size: 100) in half so that the grinding surface was facing outward, and attaching the inner surfaces of the folded paper together on both sides with adhesive tape (manufactured by Nitto Corporation, product number: T4010).The depth from the top of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 to the top end of the grinding member 2 was adjusted to 2 mm, and the grinding members 2 were arranged at equal intervals of 2.5 cm.

[0132] The cat's claw polishing / grinder 1 obtained above was placed in a mold, and then placed on the floor with its upper surface (polishing / grinder surface) facing upwards.

[0133] In addition, after using the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1, the upper surface (polishing / grinding surface) and the lower surface (polishing surface) of the cat's claw polisher / grinder 1 can be reversed, allowing the cat's claws to be polished on the lower surface (polishing surface).

[0134] From the above results, it can be seen that by using the cat's claw polishing / grinding device of the present invention on a cat, it is possible to polish the cat's claws and also to efficiently grind the tips of the cat's claws without using nail clippers or the like, which is an excellent effect.
