Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to eyewear that has a sealed cavity formed in the frame so that it can float on water. [Background technology]
[0002] Eyeglass frames can be broadly divided into metal eyewear and resin eyewear, but both types of eyewear are heavy to a certain extent and cannot float on water. Eyewear does not necessarily have to float, but if it falls into water or comes off while exercising in a pool, it will sink. In view of this, glasses (eyewear) that can float without sinking when dropped into water are known in the prior art.
[0003] The "floating eyewear" according to JP2018-516392A has a pair of lenses supported by a frame member and a pair of detachable connecting parts connected to the inner ends of each of the frame members, and these connecting parts are securely connectable to and detachable from each other. A strap is connected between the rear ends of the eyeglass temples which are connected to the outer ends of the frame members, the strap is sufficiently stiff to generally retain its shape when the connection is released, is bendable when flexed and is sufficiently elastic to return to its original shape when released, the strap is generally U-shaped with parallel legs connected to an arcuate base, the closing leg being connected to the rear ends of the temples when worn, the arcuate base extending along the rear of the user's head, and the strap is buoyant enough to allow the eyewear to float on water.
[0004] To provide "hollow metal frame spectacles" disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 6-300990, which can be made to have a heavy, sturdy, thick-rimmed shape while still being extremely light in overall weight, and can effectively create a luxurious appearance if necessary, and which are inexpensive and have a much better fit and lens holding ability than conventional products. The rim frame that holds the lenses, the bridge that joins the rim frame symmetrically, the temples, and the lugs are all made of hollow metal material. The result was metal-framed glasses that have a heavy, luxurious appearance, but are actually extremely lightweight and can even float on water.
[0005] As such, eyewear that can float on water has been known for some time. However, there are many different types of eyewear, each with different uses and functions. For people with myopia or farsightedness, glasses are a necessity in daily life, and have thick lenses fitted into the rims at the front. For this reason, it is not easy to provide the buoyancy necessary for the entire pair of glasses to float in water if they are inadvertently dropped into the water.
[0006] [Patent Document 1] "Floating Eyewear" pertaining to Patent Publication No. 2018-516392 [Patent Document 2] "Hollow metal frame glasses" according to JP 6-300990 DISCLOSURE OF THEINVENTION [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0007] As described above, there are various types of eyewear that can float on water, but the problem that the present invention aims to solve is to provide eyewear that can float on water and is configured so that it is almost indistinguishable in appearance from general eyewear that cannot float on water. Here, the specific type of eyewear is not limited, and includes general corrective eyeglass frames, sunglasses, goggles, underwater glasses, etc. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] The eyewear according to the present invention has a frame made of resin, and has a sealed cavity formed inside the frame. These sealed cavities are provided in the front part and temples of the eyeglass frame, and can provide a large buoyancy. The sealed cavities are basically injection molded, but the specific method is not limited. Although a sealed cavity is formed within the frame, the appearance is almost the same as eyewear that does not have a cavity. Furthermore, the size of the cavity formed in the frame is configured to allow the eyewear to float based on the weight of the entire eyewear, including the weight of the lenses that fit into the front rim.
[0009] There are no limitations regarding the type and shape of eyewear. (1) The most common type of eyewear consists of a front portion having two rims into which lenses fit, and temples attached to both sides of the front portion so that they can be folded. (2) It has a front part with two rims into which the lenses fit, and a band that can be wrapped around the head when worn on the front part. That is, the goggles are worn during exercise, with the front portion curved significantly to fit the face, and the inside is provided with a cushioning material that comes into contact with the face.
[0010] (3) Underwater goggles The front part is not a one-piece structure, but the two rims into which the lenses fit are connected by a central connecting member, so that the two rims can be turned to fit the face when worn. The inside of both rims has cushioning material, and both rims are connected to a band that wraps around the head. Even in the case of the general eyewear mentioned above, the form can change, and in the case of goggles, a single continuous lens can be fitted to the front part. Effect of the Invention
[0011] The eyewear according to the present invention has a resin frame with a sealed cavity, so that if the eyewear falls off the face and onto the surface of the water, it will float rather than sink. Therefore, even if your eyewear falls into the water, it will not get lost and you can put it back on your face and use it again. This is particularly effective for underwater goggles, which tend to fall into the water and get lost, and there is no need to worry about losing them while swimming.
[0012] Although the eyewear of the present invention has a sealed cavity in part of the frame, it looks like ordinary eyewear, and although a sealed cavity is formed within the frame, the appearance of the eyewear is not impaired. That is, it is possible to create a sealed cavity by covering the recess formed in the frame, but by using double injection, a sealed cavity can be formed. [Brief description of the drawings]

[Figure 6] 1A to 1C are a plan view, a front view, and a side view of another goggle, showing an embodiment of eyewear according to the present invention. [Figure 7] 1A to 1C are a plan view, a front view, and a side view of underwater goggles according to an embodiment of eyewear according to the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0014] 1 and 2 show an embodiment of eyewear according to the present invention, and the eyewear is a general eyeglass frame 1 made of resin. Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the eyeglass frame 1, Fig. 2(a) shows a front view of the eyeglass frame 1, and Fig. 2(b) shows a side view of the eyeglass frame 1. The eyeglass frame 1 has a front part 2 having rims 4, 4 into which lenses can be fitted, and temples 3, 3 on both sides of the front part 2 that can be folded via joints 5, 5 such as hinges.
[0015] The front part 2 and the temples 3, 3 which are the components constituting the eyeglass frame 1 are made of resin and are injection molded using a metal mold. The temples 3, 3 are attached to the front part 2 via joints 5, 5. Incidentally, the eyeglass frame 2 according to the present invention has a sealed cavity formed in the front portion 2 and a part of the temples 3, 3. Therefore, even if the eyeglass frame 1 is dropped into water, it will not sink but will float.
[0016] The front portion 2 is provided with a cavity 6a in the center and cavities 6b, 6b on both sides, and the temples 3 are provided with cavities 7a, 7b. These cavities 6a, 6b, 6b and cavities 7a, 7b are configured as completely sealed cavities.
[0017] 3(a) and (b) are specific examples showing the molding process of the cavities 7a and 7b of the temple 3. In Fig. 3(a), recesses 8a and 8b are molded on the inside of the temple 3. That is, the mold is set so that the resin is not filled into the recesses 8a and 8b, and the resin is poured in. After that, as shown in (b), the recesses 8a and 8b are molded to become sealed cavities 7a and 7b. That is, the recesses 8a, 8b are molded and the lids 9a, 9b are molded at the same time, and a double injection is performed almost simultaneously to form a sealed cavity.
[0018] Of course, it is also possible to fit separately molded lids 9a, 9b into the recesses 8a, 8b without molding the cavities 7a, 7b by double injection, and irradiate the surroundings with a laser to eliminate any gaps. It is also necessary to carry out post-processing after the laser irradiation so that there is no distinction between the temple body, i.e. so that it is not obvious that the covers 9a, 9b are attached.
[0019] FIG. 4 shows a specific example of goggles 10 as eyewear according to the present invention. The goggles 10 are primarily worn by athletes, are safe against impacts, and can be worn stably without shifting out of place even during vigorous exercise. The front portion 11 has a front portion 12 made of hard resin and a rear portion 13 made of soft resin detachably attached to the rear side of the front portion 12.
[0020] The soft resin back portion 13 is formed with a plurality of notches 17, 17.... Therefore, when the goggles 10 are worn, the notches 17, 17... are not in contact with the face, forming gaps, and air flows through these notches 17, 17..., preventing breathlessness. A band 14 is connected to both side ends of the front part 12 to be wrapped around the head when the goggles 10 are worn. Sealed cavities 15, 15 are provided in the end pieces 34, 34 at both side ends of the front part 12, and a sealed cavity 16 is provided in the center. Therefore, when the goggles 10 fall and hit the water surface, they will not sink but will float.
[0021] Figure 5 shows another embodiment of eyewear constituting a spectacle frame 18, which has a different shape from the spectacle frame 1 shown in Figure 1. That is, the front part 19 is curved greatly so that it fits the face when worn, and the temples 20, 20 are also curved and extend so as to hold the back of the head. The front portion 19 has cavities 21a, 21a provided along the rims, and a cavity 21b in the connecting portion connecting both rims. Therefore, even if the eyeglass frame 18 comes off and falls onto the water, it will not sink but will float.
[0022] Fig. 6 is another example of goggles 23. The goggles 23 shown in the figure have a rim that constitutes a front portion 24 that is integrated without being separated into left and right halves, and a band 25 is connected to the front portion 24. A sealed cavity 26 is provided continuously along the front portion 24. Therefore, the goggles 23 will not sink even if they fall onto the water surface.
[0023] 7 shows a specific example of underwater goggles 27, in which the rim portions 28, 28 into which the lenses fit are connected by a connecting member 29. The connecting member 29 is roughly U-shaped, and the connecting member 29 engages with locking holes provided in arms 30, 30 extending from the rim portions 28, 28 toward the center. The orientation of both rim portions 28, 28 can be changed around a roughly U-shaped connecting member 29, so that when the underwater goggles 27 are worn, both rim portions 28, 28 can fit snugly against the face with no gaps.
[0024] A band 31 is connected to the outside of both rims 28, 28 and the band 31 is wrapped around the head. Also, sealed cavities 32, 32 are provided on the sides of the rims 28, 28, so that even if the underwater goggles 27 come off while swimming, they will not sink to the bottom but will float on the surface of the water. Cushioning materials 33, 33 made of soft resin are attached to the back of the rim parts 28, 28 of the underwater goggles 27, so that there is no gap between them and the face, and they can come into soft contact with each other.
