Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a drum type washing machine. [Background technology]

[0002] In a drum-type washing machine in which the rotation axis of the drum (rotating tub) is horizontal or inclined, if the opening (clothes removal opening) at the front of the drum is made larger, the clothes tend to fly out of the drum. If the spin cycle is performed with the clothes still flying out of the drum, friction will occur between the clothes and the non-rotating parts outside the drum, which may cause damage to the clothes.

[0003] Patent Document 1 discloses a configuration in which, in order to prevent clothes from flying out, a protrusion is provided below the drum opening to push the clothes that have flown out back into the tub. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[Figure 19] 6 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 6-2 of the annular cover portion as viewed from the front side. FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0009] [First embodiment] Hereinafter, a drum type washing machine according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 are perspective views showing the appearance of the washing machine 1 according to this embodiment, with Fig. 1 showing a state in which the door 2 is closed, and Fig. 2 showing a state in which the door 2 is open. For convenience of explanation, the side of the washing machine 1 on which the door 2 is provided will be referred to as the front side F, and the opposite side will be referred to as the rear side R (or the back side), but this does not limit the installation form or usage form of the washing machine 1.

[0010] In the present invention, the term "washing machine" refers to a general device that performs various processes such as washing on the laundry. The washing machine processes the laundry, for example, washing, drying, deodorizing, and sterilizing. The laundry is not particularly limited. Examples of the laundry include cloth products. Specific examples of the laundry include clothing such as clothes, hats, and gloves, belongings such as shoes, bags, handkerchiefs, and towels, bedding such as curtains, blankets, towel blankets, and futon covers, carpets, stuffed toys, and the like.

[0011] The washing machine 1 is provided with a door 2 on the front side F of a housing 10, and when the door 2 is opened, an opening 111 of the housing 10 is exposed.

[0012] 1, the door 2 integrally comprises a door body 21 having a substantially rectangular shape in a front view and an inclined upper part 22 provided so as to incline rearward from the upper part of the door body 21. The inclined upper part 22 is provided with a display operation part and the like for selecting and inputting driving operations and displaying driving states.

[0013] As shown in Fig. 2, an opening 111 through which laundry is put in and taken out is provided on the front surface of housing 10. Door 2 is rotatably provided on housing 10 by hinge connection, and allows opening 111 to be opened and closed. A gasket 112 made of an elastic body such as rubber or soft resin is provided on the periphery of opening 111, and when door 2 is closed, a substantially truncated cone-shaped window member 23 provided on the back side of door 2 comes into close contact with gasket 112, thereby keeping the inside of water tub 3 liquid-tight and airtight. Water tub 3 and spin tub 4, which will be described later, are provided inside housing 10 and open toward opening 111.

[0014] FIG. 3 is a front view of water tub 3 provided inside housing 10, with housing 10 and its peripheral members omitted, and FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view showing water tub 3 and annular cover portion 5. As shown in FIG.

[0015] Housing 10 contains water tub 3 and rotating tub 4, which is a cylindrical rotating drum with a bottom. As shown in Fig. 3, water tub 3 has water tub opening 31 on front side F. Water tub opening 31 opens toward opening 111 of housing 10. Water tub 3 is elastically supported within housing 10 by a plurality of dampers and the like (not shown).

[0016] As shown in FIG. 4, an annular cover portion 5 is attached to the front side F of the water tub opening 31. The annular cover portion 5 is formed in an annular shape and has a curved wall 51 of a generally funnel shape whose inner diameter gradually decreases from the front side F to the rear side R. The curved wall 51 is provided on the inner periphery of the annular cover portion 5. The inner periphery of the curved wall 51 is the inner periphery edge 52 of the annular cover portion 5, and the inner periphery edge 52 is configured to have a smaller diameter than the outer periphery edge 53 of the annular cover portion 5. The annular cover portion 5 is disposed so as to cover the aforementioned packing 112 from the rear side, and prevents clothes from coming into contact with the packing 112 when the rotating tub 4 rotates. In this embodiment, the annular cover portion 5 is attached to the water tub opening 31, but the annular cover portion 5 may not be provided. In this case, the components provided on the annular cover 5 may be directly formed on the water tub opening 31, or may be attached to the water tub opening 31.

[0017] In the washing machine 1 of this embodiment, the rotation axis X (see FIG. 5) of the spin tub 4 is provided at an inclination angle θ, for example, with respect to the horizontal direction so that the front side F is higher than the rear side R (so that it faces diagonally upward toward the front). The spin tub 4 may be disposed so that the rotation axis X is approximately parallel to the horizontal direction.

[0018] Fig. 5 is an enlarged partial cross-sectional view showing a main part of the front side F of the water tub 3, and corresponds to cross section II in Fig. 3. As shown in Fig. 5, the spin tub 4 in the water tub 3 has a spin tub opening 41 on the front side F that is opened for loading and unloading laundry such as clothes.

[0019] A water-tank front cover 32 is provided on the front side F of the water tub 3, and annular cover portion 5 is attached via this water-tank front cover 32. That is, water-tank front cover 32 and annular cover portion 5 form water-tank opening 31 (see FIG. 4). Annular cover portion 5 is provided with curved wall 51 protruding inward, and its outer periphery is covered by water-tank front cover 32. Rotating tub 4 is configured to have a slightly smaller diameter than water tub 3, and is rotated within water tub 3 by a drum motor (not shown) provided on the rear side R of water tub 3.

[0020] As shown in Fig. 5, the rotating tub opening 41 of the rotating tub 4 is disposed between the water tub opening 31 and the rotating tub opening 41 with a gap G provided around the entire circumference. More specifically, the rotating tub opening 41 is provided with a throttle portion 42 having a generally funnel-shaped curved surface whose inner diameter gradually decreases from the back side R toward the front side F, and the gap G is formed between the inner peripheral edge 52 of the annular cover portion 5 provided on the water tub opening 31 and the inner peripheral edge 421 of the throttle portion 42 provided on the rotating tub opening 41. The gap G is formed in an annular shape around the entire circumference of the water tub 3 and the rotating tub 4.

[0021] In the washing machine 1, the water tub 3, which is supported by the housing 10 and does not rotate, supports the rotating tub 4 inside. The annular cover part 5 attached to the water tub 3 (water tub front cover 32) is also a member that does not rotate. Therefore, when clothes fly out of the rotating tub 4 (in front of the rotating tub opening 41) during operation of the washing machine 1 (while the rotating tub 4 is rotating), the clothes are rotated while in contact with the annular cover part 5, and the clothes are rubbed against the annular cover part 5. In some cases, the clothes may enter the gap G and rub against the gap G. In the dehydration process in which the rotating tub 4 rotates at high speed, the clothes may be damaged if the clothes rub against the annular cover part 5.

[0022] In the washing machine 1 of the present embodiment, when clothes fly out of the spin tub 4 and come into contact with the annular cover portion 5 during the spin-drying process, this contact can be quickly resolved. This configuration will be described in detail below.

[0023] 6 is a perspective view of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the rear side R. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the annular cover portion 5 is provided with a protrusion 54 that stands toward the rear side R (i.e., toward the rotating tub opening 41). Specifically, the annular cover portion 5 has a flange portion 55 (see FIG. 3) that protrudes further inward than the inner peripheral edge 52, and the protrusion 54 stands on the rear surface of the flange portion 55. The annular cover portion 5 is composed of two parts, an annular main body member 50A and an accessory member 50B that is attached to the rear surface side of the main body member 50A by screw fastening or the like, and the protrusion 54 may be provided on the accessory member 50B.

[0024] During the spin-drying process of the washing machine 1, clothes that fly out of the spin tub 4 and are rotated while in contact with the annular cover portion 5 are torn off from the annular cover portion 5 by the protrusions 54 and pushed back into the spin tub 4. This makes it possible to prevent clothes from flying out of the spin tub 4 during the spin-drying process, and to suppress friction between the clothes and the annular cover portion 5, thereby suppressing damage to the clothes.

[0025] In this embodiment, the protrusion 54 is formed in the upper half of the water tub opening 31. In other words, the protrusion 54 is provided above the horizontal line L1 passing through the center O of the water tub opening 31, as shown in Fig. 3. In the washing machine 1, the rotation speed of the spin tub 4 is low during processes other than the spin-drying process (washing, rinsing, drying, etc.), so that the clothes fall due to gravity during the rotation and do not rotate together with the spin tub 4. For this reason, by providing the protrusion 54 in the upper half of the water tub opening 31, friction between the clothes and the protrusion 54 can be avoided or suppressed during processes other than the spin-drying process.

[0026] Furthermore, if the spin tub 4 is inclined so as to face obliquely upward toward the front, and the clothes torn off by the protrusions 54 at the top of the spin tub 4 fall almost straight down due to the action of gravity, the clothes will be guided to the back of the spin tub 4 by this fall. In other words, the clothes torn off by the protrusions 54 can be prevented from coming into contact with the annular cover 5 again. This allows the spin tub 4 to continue to operate smoothly after the clothes have been torn off by the protrusions 54.

[0027] It is more preferable that the protrusion 54 is provided above the upper inclined surface 231 of the window member 23 of the door 2. As shown in Fig. 2, the upper part of the window member 23 is provided with the generally flat upper inclined surface 231 that slopes downward from the front to the rear when the door 2 is closed. Providing the protrusion 54 above the upper inclined surface 231 means that the protrusion 54 is provided above the horizontal line L2 that coincides with the upper side of the upper inclined surface 231.

[0028] Protruding portion 54 is provided above upper inclined surface 231 of window member 23, so that a large distance can be secured between protruding portion 54 and window member 23. This makes it difficult for clothes to be torn off by protruding portion 54 to become caught between protruding portion 54 and window member 23, and makes it easier for the clothes to return to spin tub 4.

[0029] Furthermore, it is preferable that protrusion 54 is disposed at a position (on the rising side) where clothes are lifted as spin tub 4 rotates for dehydration. Thus, protrusion 54 acts to peel the clothes from annular cover 5 while they are being lifted. In this case, gravity also acts in the direction of the clothes being peeled off by protrusion 54, so that the clothes can be peeled off smoothly. In washing machine 1, the rotation direction of spin tub 4 during the spin-drying process (spin-drying rotation direction) is fixed to one direction. In Figs. 3, 6, and 8, the spin-drying rotation direction is indicated by arrow A.

[0030] Additionally, LEDs (not shown) that illuminate the interior of spin tub 4 and a circulation nozzle (not shown) that discharges circulating water into spin tub 4 during the washing process are attached to the rear side of annular cover portion 5. These LEDs and circulation nozzles are generally provided in the upper half of water tub opening 31, similar to protrusion 54. When protrusion 54, LEDs, and circulation nozzles are provided in the upper half of water tub opening 31, protrusion 54 is preferably provided in this region upstream of the LEDs and circulation nozzle in the spin rotation direction. In FIG. 6, region B is illustrated as an example of where the LED unit is disposed.

[0031] The LEDs and circulation nozzles can be shaped in a way that makes it easy for clothes to get caught during the spin-drying process, but by providing the protrusion 54 upstream of the LEDs, circulation nozzle, etc. in the spin-drying rotation direction, the risk of clothes getting caught on the LEDs or circulation nozzle can be reduced.

[0032] 5, the tip (rear side tip) of the protrusion 54 in the front-rear direction (product depth direction) is preferably located further back than the entire circumference of the above-mentioned gap G. That is, the tip of the protrusion 54 is located further back than the vertical line L3 passing through the innermost part of the entire circumference of the gap G (the upper end of the gap G if the spin tub 4 is inclined diagonally upward). In this way, by positioning the tip of the protrusion 54 on the inner side than the entire circumference of the gap G, the risk of the clothes flying out of the spin tub 4 can be reduced even if the clothes are torn off after the spin tub 4 has reached a certain high speed rotation during the dehydration process.

[0033] Second Embodiment In this embodiment, a configuration for improving the action of the protrusion 54 to peel off clothing will be described. Fig. 7 is an enlarged perspective view of the vicinity of the protrusion 54 of the annular cover part 5 as seen from the front side. Fig. 8 is an enlarged rear view of the vicinity of the protrusion 54 of the annular cover part 5.

[0034] As shown in FIG. 7, the annular cover portion 5 is provided with a first guide surface (projection guide surface) 56 adjacent to the upstream side of the projection portion 54 in the dehydration rotation direction. The first guide surface 56 is a surface that guides the clothes moving along the annular cover portion 5 to the side surface of the projection portion 54. In this embodiment, the first guide surface 56 can be a part of the curved wall 51 described above. Specifically, the curved wall 51 is not continuously connected to the side surface of the flange portion 55 described above, and the curved wall 51 is discontinuous with the side surface of the flange portion 55 just before the upstream side of the projection portion 54, so that the clothes moving along the curved wall 51 are guided to hit the upstream side surface of the projection portion 54. That is, the end portion of the curved wall 51 just before the upstream side of the projection portion 54 can be used as the first guide surface 56.

[0035] First guide surface 56 is provided such that inner peripheral edge 561 is located on the outer periphery side of protrusion 54. That is, as shown in Fig. 8, if a circumferential line (concentric with water tank opening 31) extending from inner peripheral edge 561 of first guide surface 56 is L4, protrusion 54 is located on the inner periphery side of circumferential line L4.

[0036] By providing such first guide surface 56, when there is clothing that is rotated while in contact with annular cover portion 5 during the spin cycle, the clothing is guided along first guide surface 56 to protrusion 54, as shown by the thick arrow in Fig. 7, and is reliably peeled off from annular cover portion 5 by being abutted against the side surface of protrusion 54. Furthermore, since protrusion 54 is located on the inner periphery side of inner peripheral edge 561 of first guide surface 56, the clothing peeled off from annular cover portion 5 is easily guided to the rear side of spin tub 4.

[0037] In addition, the side surface of flange portion 55 on the upstream side in the rotation direction is formed as second guide surface 57. Second guide surface 57 is gently inclined so as to protrude inward from the upstream to the downstream in the dehydration rotation direction. Second guide surface 57 can gently guide a part of the clothes that are rotated while in contact with annular cover portion 5 to the inner side just before protrusions 54, and can reduce the collision of the clothes with protrusions 54. This can reduce damage caused by the clothes colliding with protrusions 54.

[0038] Third Embodiment In this embodiment, a configuration for more reliably returning the clothes torn off by the protrusions 54 into the spin tub 4 will be described.

[0039] 8, the annular cover portion 5 is provided with a guide portion 58 on the outer circumferential side of the protrusion portion 54. More specifically, the guide portion 58 is disposed at a position spaced further outward from the outer circumferential edge of the protrusion portion 54. The guide portion 58 is also disposed on the outer circumferential side of the inner circumferential edge 52 of the annular cover portion 5 that forms the gap G. The guide portion 58 is a rib that stands toward the back surface side R, and has an inclined portion 581 that inclines inward from the upstream to the downstream in the dehydration rotation direction.

[0040] The guide portion 58 acts to return to the inner side any clothes that accidentally get on the outer periphery of the protrusions 54. With this action, even if the clothes hit the upstream side of the protrusions 54 and get on the outer periphery of the protrusions 54, they can be guided into the rotating tub 4.

[0041] [Modifications of the annular cover portion 5] The above-described annular cover portion 5 is one example in the drum-type washing machine of the present disclosure, and various modifications are possible for the annular cover portion 5. As some of the modifications of the annular cover portion 5, modifications 1 to 6 are shown below.

[0042] (Variation 1) Fig. 9 is an enlarged perspective view of the first modified example of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. Fig. 10 is an enlarged perspective view of the first modified example of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the rear side.

[0043] The first modification is an example in which the protrusion 54 is simply formed in the annular cover portion 5. In the first modification, the annular cover portion 5 is configured as a single part, and the protrusion 54 is formed so as to stand directly from the tip (the inner peripheral end portion) of the flange portion 55.

[0044] (Variation 2) Fig. 11 is an enlarged perspective view of the second modified example of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. Fig. 12 is an enlarged perspective view of the second modified example of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the rear side.

[0045] In the second modification, the curved wall 51 is continuously formed along the edge of the flange portion 55 on the upstream side of the protrusion portion 54 in the spin-drying rotation direction. In this configuration, the continuous surface between the curved wall 51 and the side surface of the flange portion 55 does not have the function of guiding the clothes moving along this surface to the protrusion portion 54. In other words, the second modification is configured without a guide surface that guides the clothes to the protrusion portion 54.

[0046] 12, the annular cover portion 5 is configured from two parts, but the annular cover portion 5 may be configured from one part in Modification 2 as well. Similarly, the annular cover portion 5 may be configured from one part in Modifications 3 to 6 described below as well.

[0047] (Variation 3) 13 is an enlarged perspective view of the third modification of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. In the third modification, too, the curved wall 51 is continuously formed along the edge of the flange portion 55 on the upstream side of the protrusion 54 in the spin-drying rotation direction. However, in the third modification, the continuous surface between the curved wall 51 and the side surface of the flange portion 55 is more smoothly connected than in the second modification. This can weaken the collision of the clothes with the protrusion 54, and reduce damage caused by the clothes colliding with the protrusion 54.

[0048] (Variation 4) 14 is an enlarged perspective view of the fourth modified example of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. In the fourth modified example, the flange portion 55 is disposed further back and has a thinner thickness in the depth direction than the other modified examples. In this configuration, the distance between the flange portion 55 and the window member 23 of the door 2 can be made larger.

[0049] (Variation 5) Fig. 15 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 5-1 of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. Fig. 16 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 5-2 of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. Fig. 17 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 5-3 of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side.

[0050] Modifications 5-1 to 5-3 are configured so that the thickness of flange portion 55 in the depth direction gradually decreases from the upstream side to the downstream side. With this configuration, the combined thickness of flange portion 55 and protrusion portion 54 is ensured, while the distance between flange portion 55 and window member 23 of door 2 is also ensured. Note that in modification examples 5-1 to 5-3, by ensuring the combined thickness of flange portion 55 and protrusion portion 54, the effect of pushing back clothes torn off by protrusion portion 54 toward spin tub 4 is increased.

[0051] (Variation 6) Fig. 18 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 6-1 of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side. Fig. 19 is an enlarged perspective view of a modified example 6-2 of the annular cover portion 5 as viewed from the front side.

[0052] In the modified examples 6-1 and 6-2, a notch is provided in the curved wall 51 just before the upstream side of the protrusion 54 in the spin-drying rotation direction, and the surface formed by this notch serves as a first guide surface 56 that guides the clothes to the protrusion 54. As shown in Fig. 18 and Fig. 19, by adjusting the shape and size of the notch that forms the first guide surface 56, it is possible to adjust the strength with which the clothes hit the protrusion 54.

[0053] The embodiments disclosed herein are illustrative in all respects and are not intended to be limiting. Therefore, the technical scope of the present disclosure should not be interpreted solely by the above-described embodiments, but should be determined based on the claims. [Explanation of symbols]
