Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of electric discharge machines, and more specifically, to an electric discharge machine and a cutting tool thereof that can improve the efficiency of removing machining chips in the electric discharge passage and achieve the desired roughness, shape and dimensional accuracy of the machined portion of a workpiece. [Background technology]

[0002] Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a technique for machining metals using arc discharge in a discharge passage, and is particularly suitable for the demand for precision machining of conductive materials with complex shapes or difficult-to-cut materials. During EDM, the material on the workpiece surface is melted, etched, or peeled off by the arc discharge, generating machining waste. When machining deep holes, especially blind holes or microholes with high aspect ratios, machining waste is often accumulated in the vortex region caused by the EDM fluid in the discharge passage and cannot be effectively removed. As a result, machining waste causes short circuits between electrodes and abnormal discharges in the discharge passage, which deteriorates the efficiency of EDM and the roughness, shape, and dimensional accuracy of the machined part of the workpiece, and ultimately leads to problems such as the end of the EDM tool becoming dull and its excessive wear. [0013] The following description will explain the technical contents of the present application through specific specific embodiments with reference to the drawings, and those skilled in the art can easily understand other advantages and effects of the present application from the contents disclosed in the present specification. The present application can also be implemented or applied through other different specific embodiments. Various modifications and changes can be made to each detail in the present specification based on different perspectives and applications without departing from the spirit of the present application. In particular, the proportional relationship and relative position of each element in the drawings are for illustrative purposes only and do not represent the actual situation of the implementation of the present application.

[0014] For an explanation of the embodiments of the technical disclosure of the present application, please also refer to FIGS. 1 to 9.

[0015] 1, the present application provides an electric discharge machining machine 2 and its cutting tool 1. The electric discharge machining machine 2 is capable of supplying electric discharge machining fluid L and using the cutting tool 1 in combination to perform electric discharge machining on a workpiece 3. The electric discharge machining machine 2 includes a processing spindle 21 for mounting the cutting tool 1, and the processing spindle 21 is capable of moving the cutting tool 1 to bring the cutting tool 1 close to the workpiece 3.

[0016] 2 to 5, the cutting tool 1 includes a cutting tool body 11, a cutting tool machining structure 12, a cutting tool main internal flow passage 13, and a cutting tool end portion 15. The machining spindle 21 has a machining fluid injection structure 211 and a rotation power source 212. The machining fluid injection structure 211 is capable of injecting a main portion of electric discharge machining fluid L into the cutting tool main internal flow passage 13. The rotation power source 212 is capable of rotating the cutting tool 1, and causing the cutting tool 1 to perform electric discharge machining on the workpiece 3 in the rotating state.

[0017] The cutting tool machining structure 12 is provided outside the cutting tool body 11. The machining spindle 21 can move the cutting tool 1 to bring the cutting tool body 11 close to the workpiece 3 so that a discharge channel dc is formed between the cutting tool body 11 and the workpiece 3 and the cutting tool machining structure 12 can perform electric discharge machining on the workpiece 3 through the discharge channel dc. It should be noted that the discharge channel dc is a gap located between the cutting tool end 15 or the side wall of the cutting tool 1 and the workpiece 3, so that when the cutting tool machining structure 12 performs electric discharge machining on the workpiece 3, machining chips are generated in the discharge channel dc.

[0018] The tool main internal flow passage 13 extends inside the tool body 11 and penetrates the tool body 11, and can guide the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L to flow inside the tool body 11. In the above embodiment, the tool main internal flow passage 13 has a main internal flow passage spiral structure 131, and when the tool 1 rotates, the main internal flow passage spiral structure 131 rotates with the tool 1, changing the flow speed and flow direction of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L, so that a main internal flow field MIF is generated in the tool main internal flow passage 13 by the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L, and a fluid that drives the machining chips and moves them away from the discharge path dc is formed via the main internal flow field MIF, so that the machining chips discharged into the discharge path dc can be pushed away from the side, thereby improving the efficiency of removing the machining chips in the discharge path dc and solving the technical problem caused by the machining chips accumulating in the discharge path dc.

[0019] The main inner flow path spiral structure 131 may be a spiral pipeline structure, and the spiral lead angle of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 may be greater than or equal to 20 degrees and less than 75 degrees. In this way, the main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can push the discharge passage dc from the side at the angle of the above-mentioned spiral lead angle, thereby pushing the machining chips discharged into the discharge passage dc from the side. This avoids a vortex area caused by the main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc, and further improves the efficiency of removal of the machining chips by the main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc.

[0020] The tool end 15 is located at one end of the tool body 11, and the tool body 11 has a tool wear allowance portion 111, which is a portion of the tool body 11 that is allowed to wear during electric discharge machining.

[0021] In the above embodiment, the tool wear allowable portion 111, the tool processing structure 12, and the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 extend upward from the tool end portion 15. The linear length of the tool wear allowable portion 111 and the tool processing structure 12 is the tool wear allowable linear length L1, and the linear length of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 is the main inner flow path spiral structure linear length L2, of which the main inner flow path spiral structure linear length L2 is greater than the tool wear allowable linear length L1. Therefore, even if the tool processing structure 12 is shaped and trimmed so that the shape of the tool end portion 15 satisfies the requirements for electric discharge machining, the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 can be secured in the tool main inner flow path 13.

[0022] 7, the blade main inner passage 13 has a main inner passage straight extension portion 135 and at least one main inner passage oblique extension portion 136, which are connected to each other. The extension direction of the main inner passage straight extension portion 135 is parallel to the extension direction of the blade axis A. The extension direction of the main inner passage oblique extension portion 136 is inclined with respect to the extension direction of the blade axis A.

[0023] It should be noted that the main inner flow passage straight extension portion 135 is capable of guiding a main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L to flow therethrough toward the main inner flow passage oblique extension portion 136 . When the cutting tool 1 rotates, the main internal flow path oblique extension portion 136 rotates together with the cutting tool 1, changing the flow speed and flow direction of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L so that the flow speed and flow direction of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L can be made as desired, and the discharge passage dc can be pushed away from the side by the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L along a predetermined flow speed and flow direction. Therefore, a vortex region caused by the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc is avoided, a main internal flow field MIF is generated in the cutting tool main internal flow path 13 by the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L, and a fluid that drives the machining chips away from the discharge passage dc is formed via the main internal flow field MIF, so that the machining chips discharged into the discharge passage dc are pushed away from the side, and further, the efficiency of removing the machining chips in the discharge passage dc is improved, and a technical problem caused by the machining chips accumulating in the discharge passage dc is solved.

[0024] In addition, the number of the main inner flow path oblique extension portions 136 may be multiple, and when the main inner flow path oblique extension portions 136 rotate together with the cutting tool 1, the flow speed and flow direction of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L may be changed multiple times, so that the flow speed and flow direction of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L can be made as desired, and the discharge passage dc is pushed out from the side by the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L at a predetermined flow speed and in a predetermined flow direction.

[0025] 4, the cutting tool main flow passage 13 has a main flow passage main body 132, a main flow passage inlet portion 133, and a main flow passage outlet portion 134. Both ends of the main flow passage main body 132 are connected to the main flow passage inlet portion 133 and the main flow passage outlet portion 134, respectively, so that a main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can flow into the main flow passage main body 132 via the main flow passage inlet portion 133 and a main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can flow out of the main flow passage main body 132 via the main flow passage outlet portion 134. Wherein, the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 is located at the main inner flow path outlet 134, and the cross-sectional area of the main inner flow path inlet 133 is larger than the cross-sectional area of the main inner flow path outlet 134. As a result, the flow velocity of the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L at the main inner flow path outlet 134 is larger than the flow velocity at the main inner flow path inlet 133. After the main part of the electric discharge machining fluid L leaves the tool main inner flow path 13, its flow velocity can push away the machining chips discharged into the discharge path dc from the side, thereby preventing the machining chips from causing inter-electrode short circuits and abnormal discharges in the discharge path dc due to the machining chips. Furthermore, the electric discharge machining efficiency is improved, and the roughness, shape and dimensional accuracy of the machined portion of the workpiece 3 are as desired, and the problem of the tool end 15 becoming dull and being worn out too much during electric discharge machining is solved.

[0026] In addition, the cross-sectional area of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 may be smaller than the cross-sectional area of the cutting tool body 11, the distance dimension between the center of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 and the center of the cutting tool body 11 may be larger than the radial dimension of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131, and the lead of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131 may be larger than the inner diameter of the main inner flow path spiral structure 131.In this way, the flow velocity of the main portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L at the main inner flow path outlet portion 134 is made as desired, and the structural strength of the cutting tool body 11 is made as desired.

[0027] 2 and 3, the cutting tool 1 further has a cutting tool sub-internal flow passage 16, and the machining fluid injection structure 211 is capable of injecting a sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L into the cutting tool sub-internal flow passage 16, which extends inside the cutting tool body 11 and penetrates the cutting tool body 11, and is capable of guiding the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L to flow within the cutting tool body 11. The cutting tool sub-internal flow passage 16 has a sub-internal flow passage spiral structure 161 that avoids the main internal flow passage spiral structure 131.

[0028] When the cutting tool 1 rotates, the secondary internal flow path spiral structure 161 rotates along with the cutting tool 1, changing the flow speed and flow direction of the secondary portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L. A secondary internal flow field SIF is generated in the main internal flow path 13 of the cutting tool by the secondary portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L, and a fluid that drives the machining chips away from the discharge passage dc is formed via the secondary internal flow field SIF, making it possible to push away the machining chips discharged into the discharge passage dc from the side. This improves the efficiency of removal of the machining chips in the discharge passage dc and solves the technical problem caused by the machining chips accumulating in the discharge passage dc.

[0029] The sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 may be a spiral pipeline structure, and the spiral lead angle of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 may be greater than or equal to 20 degrees and less than 75 degrees. In this way, the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can push the discharge passage dc from the side at the angle of the above-mentioned spiral lead angle, thereby pushing the machining chips discharged into the discharge passage dc from the side. This avoids a vortex area caused by the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc, and further improves the efficiency of removal of the machining chips by the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc.

[0030] In the above embodiment, the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 extends upward from the cutting tool end 15. The linear length of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 is the sub-internal flow path spiral structure linear length L3. Since the sub-internal flow path spiral structure linear length L3 is greater than the cutting tool wear allowable linear length L1, the cutting tool machining structure 12 can ensure the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 in the cutting tool sub-internal flow path 16 even if the shape of the cutting tool end 15 is trimmed to satisfy the requirements for electric discharge machining.

[0031] 6, the blade auxiliary internal flow passage 16 has a connected auxiliary internal flow passage straight extension portion 165 and at least one auxiliary internal flow passage oblique extension portion 166. The extension direction of the auxiliary internal flow passage straight extension portion 165 is parallel to the extension direction of the blade axis A. The extension direction of the auxiliary internal flow passage oblique extension portion 166 is inclined with respect to the extension direction of the blade axis A.

[0032] It should be noted that the sub-internal flow path straight extension portion 165 can guide a sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L to flow therefrom toward the sub-internal flow path oblique extension portion 166 . When the cutting tool 1 rotates, the sub-internal flow path oblique extension portion 166 rotates together with the cutting tool 1, changing the flow speed and flow direction of the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L so that the flow speed and flow direction of the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L are as desired, and the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can be made to push the discharge passage dc from the side along a predetermined flow speed and flow direction. This avoids a vortex region caused by the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L in the discharge passage dc, and a sub-internal flow path flow field SIF (secondary internal flow field) is generated in the cutting tool sub-internal flow path 16 by the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L, and a fluid that drives the machining chips away from the discharge passage dc is formed via the sub-internal flow field SIF, thereby improving the efficiency of removal of machining chips in the discharge passage dc and solving the technical problem caused by the machining chips accumulating in the discharge passage dc.

[0033] In addition, the number of the sub-internal flow path oblique extension portions 166 may be multiple, and when the sub-internal flow path oblique extension portions 166 rotate together with the cutting tool 1, the flow speed and flow direction of the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L may be changed multiple times, so that the flow speed and flow direction of the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can be made as desired, and the sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L pushes the discharge passage dc from the side along a predetermined flow speed and flow direction.

[0034] 2, the cutting tool sub-flow passage 16 has a sub-flow passage main body 162, a sub-flow passage inlet portion 163, and a sub-flow passage outlet portion 164. Both ends of the sub-flow passage main body 162 are connected to the sub-flow passage inlet portion 163 and the sub-flow passage outlet portion 164, respectively, so that a sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can flow into the sub-flow passage main body 162 via the sub-flow passage inlet portion 163 and a sub-portion of the electric discharge machining fluid L can flow out of the sub-flow passage main body 162 via the sub-flow passage outlet portion 164. Therein, the auxiliary internal flow path spiral structure 161 is located at the auxiliary internal flow path outlet 164, and the cross-sectional area of the auxiliary internal flow path inlet 163 is larger than that of the auxiliary internal flow path outlet 164. As a result, the flow velocity of the auxiliary portion of the EDM fluid L at the auxiliary internal flow path outlet 164 is larger than that at the auxiliary internal flow path inlet 163. After the auxiliary portion of the EDM fluid L leaves the tool auxiliary internal flow path 16, its flow velocity can push away the machining chips discharged into the discharge path dc from the side. This prevents the machining chips from causing a short circuit between electrodes and abnormal discharge in the discharge path dc. Furthermore, the efficiency of the EDM process is improved, and the roughness, shape and dimensional accuracy of the machined portion of the workpiece 3 are as desired. This solves the problem of the tool end 15 becoming dull and being worn out too much during EDM process.

[0035] In addition, the main inner flow path inlet 133 and the auxiliary inner flow path inlet 163 are connected, and the total cross-sectional area of the connecting portion between the main inner flow path inlet 133 and the auxiliary inner flow path inlet 163 may be larger than the total cross-sectional area of the main inner flow path outlet 134 and the auxiliary inner flow path outlet 164.In this way, after the electric discharge machining fluid L leaves the tool main inner flow path 13 and the tool auxiliary inner flow path 16, its flow velocity is capable of washing away the machining chips discharged into the electric discharge passage dc from the side.

[0036] Furthermore, the cross-sectional area of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 may be smaller than the cross-sectional area of the cutting tool body 11, the distance dimension between the center of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 and the center of the cutting tool body 11 may be larger than the radial dimension of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161, and the lead of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161 may be larger than the inner diameter of the sub-internal flow path spiral structure 161.In this way, the flow rate of the sub-portion of the EDM fluid L at the sub-internal flow path outlet portion 164 is made as desired, and the structural strength of the cutting tool body 11 is made as desired.

[0037] In the embodiments of Figures 1 to 5, 7 and 9, the blade 1 further has a blade outer flow passage 14 provided outside the blade body 11, and the blade outer flow passage 14 has an outer flow passage guiding structure 141, which is, for example, a straight groove flow guiding structure, an oblique groove flow guiding structure or a spiral flow guiding structure. When the cutting tool 1 rotates, the external flow path guiding structure 141 rotates with the cutting tool 1 to guide the flow of the electric discharge machining fluid L. Furthermore, the external flow path guiding structure 141 changes the flow speed and flow direction of the electric discharge machining fluid L so that an external flow field EF is generated in the discharge path dc by the electric discharge machining fluid L. A fluid that drives the machining chips away from the discharge path dc can be formed through the external flow field EF. This improves the efficiency of removing the machining chips from the discharge path dc and prevents the machining chips from causing short circuits between electrodes and abnormal discharges in the discharge path dc. Furthermore, the electric discharge machining efficiency is improved, and the roughness, shape and dimensional accuracy of the machined portion of the workpiece 3 can be as desired. This solves the problem of the cutting tool end 15 becoming dull and being worn out too much during electric discharge machining.

[0038] It should be noted that the external flow path guide structure 141 has a chip passage 1411, which is, for example, a groove recessed in the cutting tool body 11, so that the chips can pass through the chip passage 1411 and leave the discharge path dc.
