Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a hair treatment composition for treating hair. More specifically, the present invention relates to a hair treatment composition for increasing cystine in hair and imparting supple elasticity to hair. [Background technology]

[0002] Hair is damaged both internally and externally every day due to friction from brushing, heat from drying with a hair dryer, exposure to ultraviolet rays when going outside, etc. In addition, hair can be damaged by alkaline agents during coloring and perm treatments.

[0003] Normal hair contains a lot of cystine, and the disulfide bonds of cystine contribute to the strength of hair. In perm treatment, a reducing agent is applied to the hair in the first agent to cleave the disulfide bonds of cystine contained in the hair, resulting in cysteine having a thiol group. Next, with the curlers set, an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide contained in the second agent is applied to generate disulfide bonds from the thiol groups of cysteine to regenerate cystine. In hair treatment with an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide, some of the thiol groups are oxidized without regenerating disulfide bonds, causing irreversible changes to sulfo groups, and cysteic acid is generated. This generation of cysteic acid reduces the strength of the hair and causes damage. Therefore, there is a demand for the development of a hair treatment composition that reduces damage to hair and obtains hair with supple elasticity.

[0004] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a hair treatment composition for protecting hair, preventing damage, or repairing damaged hair, which is characterized by containing soluble keratin into which a carboxyl group has been introduced. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0017] The present invention provides a hair treatment composition and a hair treatment method for improving hair elasticity by increasing cystine while suppressing the production of cysteic acid. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0018] The hair treatment composition, hair treatment method, cystine-increasing agent, and method for increasing cystine of the present invention are described below. In this specification, "cystine", "cysteine", and "cysteic acid" refer to amino acid residues constituting proteins, and an increase or decrease in "cystine", "cysteine", and "cysteic acid" refers to an increase or decrease in the amino acid composition of a protein.

[0019] [Hair treatment composition] The hair treatment composition of the present invention is characterized by containing at least one of polyphenols or plant extracts. The hair treatment composition of the present invention can increase cystine while suppressing the production of cysteic acid. The hair treatment composition of the present invention can also impart supple elasticity to hair and restore healthy hair.

[0020] The hair in the present invention refers to keratin fibers, and includes, for example, human hair, beard, eyebrows, leg hair, and other body hair, as well as the body hair of animals such as pets, etc. In particular, it can be suitably used for hair that has been damaged by friction such as brushing, heat when drying with a hair dryer, exposure to ultraviolet rays when going out, and hair that has been damaged by coloring or perming.

[0021] The hair treatment composition of the present invention can be used as a coloring agent, a perm agent, a shampoo, a treatment, a hair styling agent, etc. From the viewpoint of imparting supple elasticity to hair, it is preferably used as a treatment, and particularly preferably used as a treatment to be applied after coloring or perming.

[0022] (Polyphenols) Polyphenols are substances having multiple phenolic hydroxyl groups in the molecule. Examples include flavonoids such as catechin, anthocyanin, proanthocyanidin, tannin, rutin, and isoflavone, phenolic acids such as chlorogenic acid and ferulic acid, lignans such as sesamin, ellagic acid, curcumin, and coumarin. The hair treatment composition of the present invention can contain one or more of these polyphenols.

[0023] The content of polyphenol in the hair treatment composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, but is, for example, 0.00001 to 10% by mass. The lower limit of the polyphenol content is preferably 0.0005% by mass or more, more preferably 0.001% by mass or more. The upper limit of the polyphenol content is preferably 1% by mass or less, more preferably 0.5% by mass or less.

[0024] By containing polyphenols, it is possible to increase cystine while suppressing the production of cysteic acid. In addition, by increasing cystine, it is possible to give supple elasticity and regenerate healthy hair. In other words, the composition containing polyphenols can be used as a cystine increaser for increasing cystine in hair.

[0025] Although the function of the present invention is not clear, it is known that polyphenols are oxidized to quinones, and it is presumed that this quinone oxidizes thiol groups to form disulfide bonds, thereby increasing cystine. In addition, since the oxidizing power of this quinone is weak, it is presumed that the production of cysteic acid can be suppressed by suppressing the oxidation of thiol groups to sulfo groups.

[0026] (Plant extract) The plant extract is a plant extract containing polyphenols. The plant extract may be obtained in any manner as long as it is an extract component obtained from a plant. For example, it may be obtained as a juice obtained by squeezing juice from a plant, or as an extract obtained by extracting with an organic solvent such as water or ethanol. In addition, any part of the plant may be used as the plant raw material for obtaining the plant extract, and examples thereof include leaves, stems, roots, flowers, bark, peel, fruit, seeds, and sap.

[0027] In addition, commercially available plant extract raw materials may be used. The upper limit of the content of the plant extract is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 5% by mass or less, even more preferably 3% by mass or less, and particularly preferably 1% by mass or less. The content of the plant extract is calculated as the pure content of the plant extract.

[0030] By containing the plant extract, it is possible to increase cystine while suppressing the production of cysteic acid. In addition, by increasing cystine, it is possible to give supple elasticity and regenerate healthy hair. In other words, the composition containing the plant extract can be used as a cystine increaser for increasing cystine in hair.

[0031] (Alkaline agent) The hair treatment composition preferably contains an alkaline agent to adjust the pH to an alkaline condition. The hair treatment composition shown in Tables 1 to 4 was applied to the hair for evaluation, and the hair was left for 5 minutes under the temperature and pH environment shown in the tables, and then washed with water. The pH shown in the tables is the value obtained by measuring the pH of the hair treatment composition using a pH meter "F-22" (manufactured by HORIBA Corporation). The pH was measured by subjecting the hair treatment composition to the pH meter as it is, without diluting it. The hair treated with the hair treatment composition was evaluated for the effect of increasing cystine, the effect of decreasing cysteine, the effect of inhibiting the production of cysteic acid, and the condition of the hair (supple elasticity).

[0060] <Methods for evaluating the effect of increasing cystine, decreasing cysteine, and inhibiting the production of cysteic acid> The effect of increasing cystine, the effect of decreasing cysteine, and the effect of inhibiting the production of cysteic acid were evaluated based on the change in the content of cystine (disulfide bond), the content of cysteine (thiol group), and the content of cysteic acid (sulfo group) in the hair before and after treatment with the hair treatment composition. The methods for measuring the contents of cystine, cysteine, and cysteic acid in hair are as follows.

[0061] (Method for measuring the content of cystine, cysteine, and cysteic acid in hair) To prevent cysteine from being converted to cystine during the analysis, the hair is treated with N-ethylmaleimide to modify the thiol group with maleimide. The hair is then freeze-pulverized and heated in 6N hydrochloric acid at 110°C for 24 hours to hydrolyze the hair to amino acids. The amount of cystine in the resulting amino acid solution is quantified using capillary electrophoresis (instrument name: 7100 Capillary Electrophoresis (Agilent Technologies)), and the amount of cysteine is quantified using liquid chromatography (instrument name: 2695 Separations Module (Waters), detector: 2996 Photodiode Array Detector (Waters)). Cysteic acid is measured using infrared spectroscopy (instrument name: Spectrum Two (PerkinElmer)) on the freeze-pulverized hair powder.

[0062] (Change in cystine content in hair) The change in the cystine content in hair was calculated by the following formula (1): In the formula, "cystine after treatment" means the cystine content in hair after treatment with the hair treatment composition, and "cystine before treatment" means the cystine content in hair before treatment with the hair treatment composition.

[0068] (Criteria for evaluation of the effect of inhibiting the production of cysteic acid) ◯: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, the percentage of cysteic acid in the hair relative to the total content of cystine, cysteine, and cysteic acid was less than 5%. ×: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, the proportion of cysteic acid to the total content of cystine, cysteine, and cysteic acid in the hair was 5% or more.

[0069] <How to evaluate hair condition (supple elasticity)> The condition of the hair (supple elasticity) was evaluated by a sensory test by five expert panelists, who evaluated the change in the condition of the hair before and after treatment with the hair treatment composition. The five expert panelists evaluated the feel of the hair according to the following evaluation criteria, and the average of the scores of the five panelists was recorded as the evaluation score.

[0070] (Evaluation criteria for hair condition (supple elasticity)) 5: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, suppleness and elasticity were significantly improved. 4: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, supple elasticity was significantly improved. 3: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, the flexibility and elasticity was slightly improved. 2: No change in elasticity was felt before and after treatment with the hair treatment composition. 1: After treatment with the hair treatment composition, the suppleness and elasticity decreased.

[0071] [Table 1]

[0072] As shown in Table 1, when Examples 1 to 3 are compared with Comparative Example 1, it was found that treating hair with a hair treatment composition containing Capillus-veneris leaf extract was effective in increasing cystine and decreasing cysteine. In addition, since the production of cysteic acid was inhibited in Examples 1 to 3, it was found that the decrease in cysteine was due to its conversion to cystine. Furthermore, in Examples 1 to 3, excellent effects were observed in the sensory evaluation, and it was found that the effect of increasing cystine supports the improvement of hair condition. In Comparative Example 2, an increase in cystine and a decrease in cysteine due to the oxidizing agent were observed, but since cysteic acid was also produced, it was found that the decreased cysteine was converted into cystine and cysteic acid.

[0073] [Table 2]

[0074] In Examples 4 to 11, hair treatment compositions containing various plant extracts, polyphenols, and various alkaline agents were evaluated, and the results showed that all of them had the effect of increasing cystine, decreasing cysteine, and inhibiting the production of cysteic acid, and also improved the condition of the hair, making it more flexible and elastic. Moreover, looking at Examples 1 and 4 to 9, it was found that the ferns capillary-fern leaf extract and peach leaf extract had particularly excellent effects.

[0075] [Table 3]

[0076] In Examples 12 to 16, pH was examined as a hair treatment condition with the hair treatment composition. As a result, particularly excellent effects were observed when hair was treated in an environment with a pH of 7.5 to 11.

[0077] [Table 4]

[0078] In Examples 17 to 21, the treatment temperature was examined as a hair treatment condition with the hair treatment composition. As a result, particularly excellent effects were observed by treating the hair in an environment where the treatment temperature was 30 to 80°C. In Example 22, the effect of the coexistence of a plant extract and an alkaline agent on the effects of the present invention was examined. As a result, it was found that the plant extract and the alkaline agent were particularly effective when mixed at the time of use. [Industrial Applicability]
