AI Technical Summary
In existing pocket designs, the integral hinge connecting the pocket body to the attachment portion exposes the side edges on the outer surface, requiring additional protective measures.
The pocket design repositions the integral hinge to connect between a front extension of the pocket body and the lower edge of the attachment portion, forming the hinge at a higher position than the pocket body extension, thus minimizing exposure of the hinge side edges on the outer surface.
This configuration effectively prevents the side edges of the integral hinge from being exposed on the outer surface of the pocket, eliminating the need for separate protective covers and enhancing the pocket's design and functionality.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0004] In the configuration described in Patent Document 1, since the integral hinge connects between the lower surfaces of the pocket body and the fixing portion, the thin side edge thereof is exposed on the outer surface of the sheet back pocket. Therefore, measures such as separately providing a cover for protecting the side edge exposed on the outer surface of this pocket are required. Thus, the present invention provides a pocket in which the side edge of the integral hinge is less likely to be exposed on the outer surface of the pocket.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0005] As means for solving the above problems, the pocket of the present invention takes the following means.
[0006] That is, the first invention of the present invention is a pocket to be attached to a base material to be attached, which includes a planar pocket body that forms a storage space with an upward opening between the pocket body and the base material, an attachment portion attached to the base material, and an integral hinge that connects between the lower edge portion of the attachment portion and a front extension portion that extends forward from the pocket body to be disposed below the lower edge portion so that the pocket body can be opened and closed around an axis extending in the pocket width direction.
[0007] According to the first invention, the integral hinge is configured to connect between a front extension portion that extends forward from the pocket body and the lower edge portion of the attachment portion disposed above it. As a result, the integral hinge is formed at a position higher than the front extension portion of the pocket body. Consequently, it is possible to make it difficult for the side edges of the integral hinge in the pocket width direction to be exposed on the outer surface of the pocket such as the lower surface or the rear surface of the pocket body.
[0008] The second invention of the present invention is the pocket according to the first invention, wherein the integral hinge connects between the lower edge portion of the attachment portion and the front surface of the front extension portion of the pocket body so as to curve and project forward in the pocket in the closed state of the pocket body.
[0009] According to the second invention, the integral hinge can be provided so as not to project into the pocket interior, that is, the storage portion between the pocket body and the attachment portion.
[0010] The third invention of the present invention is the pocket according to the second invention, wherein the base material has an opening or a recess for avoiding interference with the integral hinge.
[0011] According to the third invention, even if the integral hinge projects forward of the pocket, it is possible to prevent the integral hinge from interfering with the base material. Therefore, the degree of freedom in the shape and arrangement of the pocket can be increased.
[0012] The fourth invention of the present invention is a pocket in which, in any one of the first to third inventions, the pocket body has a surface portion extending in the pocket height direction along the rear surface of the attachment portion in its closed state.
[0013] According to the fourth invention, the gap between the pocket body and the attachment portion when the pocket body is opened can be narrowed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent objects from falling into the gap.

Embodiments for Carrying Out the Invention
[0015] Hereinafter, embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0016] 《First Embodiment》 (Schematic Configuration of Pocket 1) First, the configuration of the pocket 1 according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 8. In the following description, when indicating directions such as front and rear, up and down, left and right, etc., the respective directions shown in each figure shall be referred to.
[0017] Also, when indicating "pockets" in each direction such as the "pocket width direction", it shall refer to each direction based on pocket 1. Further, in the following description, when no specific reference figure is shown, or when there is no reference numeral corresponding to the reference figure, any one of FIGS. 1 to 8 shall be appropriately referred to.
[0018] As shown in FIG. 1, pocket 1 according to the present embodiment is configured as a seat back pocket provided on the back side of the seat back of an automobile seat. Pocket 1 is attached to a resin plate-shaped back board 10 that covers the back side of the seat back. Here, back board 10 corresponds to the "base material" of the present invention.
[0019] Pocket 1 is made of an injection-molded resin plate-shaped member. Specifically, pocket 1 is composed of a pocket body 2 having a plate shape along back board 10, a plate-shaped attachment portion 3 attached to back board 10, and an integral hinge 4 connecting between their lower edges, and is configured as a single component having them integrally.
[0020] Integral hinge 4 connects pocket body 2 to attachment portion 3 so as to be openable and closable around an axis L extending in the pocket width direction. Thereby, pocket 1 can be switched between a closed state shown in FIG. 1 and an open state shown in FIG. 2 around integral hinge 4.
[0021] A pair of left and right rubber bands 20 that apply a rotational biasing force in the closing direction to pocket body 2 are provided between pocket body 2 and back board 10. Thereby, pocket body 2 is always held in a closed state (see FIG. 1) so as to be overlapped with back board 10 from the rear side.
[0022] The pocket body 2 is opened by being pulled backward by the user against the biasing force of the rubber band 20 so as to be tilted backward around the integral hinge 4 (see Fig. 2). Thereby, the pocket body 2 is in an open state forming an upward-opening storage between the pocket body 2 and the backboard 10.
[0023] Further, when the opening force is removed, the pocket body 2 is returned to the closed state shown in Fig. 1 by the biasing force of the rubber band 20 again. Thereby, the pocket body 2 holds the contents such as magazines and small items placed between the pocket body 2 and the backboard 10 so as to sandwich them between the pocket body 2 and the backboard 10.
[0024] The pocket 1 is set at a position that enters the front of the pocket so that the side edge of the integral hinge 4 with a thin plate thickness does not touch the user's hand. Thereby, the pocket 1 is configured to be protected so that the side edge of the integral hinge 4 does not touch the user's hand without separately providing a cover member for protecting the side edge of the integral hinge 4.
[0025] Hereinafter, the specific configuration of each part of the pocket 1 will be described. As shown in Figs. 3 to 5, the pocket 1 is configured such that the plate-shaped attachment portion 3 overlaps the front side of the pocket body 2 and they are folded around the integral hinge 4.
[0026] As shown in Fig. 6, the attachment portion 3 has a plate-shaped attachment plate 3A, insertion pins 3B that project forward from two positions in the pocket width direction of the attachment plate 3A, and fitting claws 3C that project forward from three positions in the pocket width direction of the attachment plate 3A.
[0027] The attachment plate 3A is formed in an L-shaped plate shape in which its lower edge portion 3D projects forward in a flange shape. The fitting claws 3C are formed at a total of three positions, i.e., the central position in the pocket width direction of the attachment plate 3A and two positions near both edges. The insertion pins 3B are formed directly above the two left and right fitting claws 3C.
[0028] Each insertion pin 3B is shaped to protrude significantly forward of the pocket compared to each fitting claw 3C. The tip portions of the insertion pins 3B that protrude forward of the pockets are tapered. As shown in FIG. 5, each insertion pin 3B is inserted into a corresponding insertion hole 11 formed in the backboard 10 from the rear side, so that movement in the pocket width direction and the pocket height direction with respect to the backboard 10 is restricted.
[0029] Each fitting claw 3C is inserted into a corresponding fitting hole 12 formed in the backboard 10 from the rear side, and is elastically hooked by a return 12A formed at the upper edge of each fitting hole 12 to be snap-fitted. By these fittings, each fitting claw 3C is held in position so as not to come out from the corresponding fitting hole 12 to the rear side with respect to the backboard 10.
[0030] The mounting portion 3 is integrally mounted on the backboard 10 by the following procedure. First, each insertion pin 3B of the mounting portion 3 is inserted into a corresponding insertion hole 11 formed in the backboard 10 from the rear side. By these insertions, the mounting positions of the mounting portion 3 in the pocket width direction and the pocket height direction with respect to the backboard 10 are positioned.
[0031] Then, as shown in FIG. 7, as each insertion pin 3B is further inserted, each fitting claw 3C is inserted into a corresponding fitting hole 12 from the rear side and snap-fitted. Also, with this fitting, various portions of the mounting plate 3A are applied to the backboard 10 from the rear side. As a result, the mounting portion 3 is integrally mounted on the backboard 10.
[0032] As shown in FIGS. 6 to 7, the pocket body 2 is formed in an L-shaped plate shape with a front extension portion 2A that protrudes in a flange shape forward of the pocket at its lower edge portion. The front extension portion 2A is shaped to protrude so as to overlap the lower edge portion 3D of the mounting portion 3 from below in the closed state of the figure where the mounting plate 3A of the mounting portion 3 overlaps the pocket body 2.
[0033] The integral hinge 4 connects between the front surface of the front extension 2A that projects forward from the lower edge of the pocket body 2 and the front surface of the lower edge portion 3D that projects forward from the lower edge of the mounting plate 3A. Specifically, the integral hinge 4 is configured to connect between these in a curved shape projecting forward of the pocket in the closed state of the figure where the mounting plate 3A of the mounting portion 3 overlaps the pocket body 2.
[0034] More specifically, the integral hinge 4 connects between the upper edge of the front surface of the front extension 2A and the lower edge of the front surface of the lower edge portion 3D of the mounting plate 3A. Thereby, the integral hinge 4 is not projected into the inside of the pocket, that is, the storage portion between the pocket body 2 and the mounting portion 3, and is formed to project outside the pocket. As a result, the side edge of the integral hinge 4 is not exposed on the outer surface of the pocket such as the lower surface or the rear surface of the pocket body 2.
[0035] As shown in FIG. 7, the integral hinge 4 is set to enter from the rear side into an opening 13 that opens in a shape extending in the pocket width direction formed in the backboard 10. Thereby, even if the integral hinge 4 is configured to project forward from the front extension 2A of the pocket body 2 and the lower edge portion 3D of the mounting portion 3, interference between the integral hinge 4 and the backboard 10 is avoided.
[0036] The pocket body 2 is made switchable between the closed state shown in FIG. 7 and the open state shown in FIG. 8 around the connected integral hinge 4. Specifically, in the closed state shown in FIG. 7, the front extension 2A of the pocket body 2 is positioned to overlap the lower edge portion 3D of the mounting portion 3 from below.
[0037] The pocket body 2 has a flange portion 2B that extends upward of the pocket along the rear surface of the mounting portion 3 from the rear end of the front extension 2A in the closed state shown in FIG. 7. As the pocket body 2 is tilted rearward around the integral hinge 4 from the closed state, as shown in FIG. 8, the front extension 2A is moved to open downward from the lower edge portion 3D of the mounting portion 3 around the integral hinge 4.
[0038] At this time, the pocket body 2 moves so as to descend along the edge portion at the rear lower side of the mounting portion 3 along the surface portion 2B. Therefore, even when the pocket body 2 is opened to the rear side, the gap T between the mounting portion 3 and the surface portion 2B can be kept in a narrowed state without being greatly widened to the rear side. As a result, it is possible to prevent an object from falling into the gap T between the pocket body 2 and the mounting portion 3.
[0039] As shown in FIGS. 4 to 5, one end of each of the pair of rubber bands 20 is hooked on the front surface of the pocket body 2. Further, the other ends of the pair of rubber bands 20 are passed through the corresponding band through holes 14 formed in the backboard 10 and hooked on the front surface of the backboard 10. Thereby, the pair of rubber bands 20 always act on the pocket body 2 with a rotational biasing force in the closing direction by their elastic forces.
[0040] Summarizing the above, the pocket 1 according to the present embodiment is configured as follows. In the following, the reference numerals in parentheses correspond to the respective components shown in the above embodiment.
[0041] That is, the pocket (1) is a pocket (1) attached to a base material (10) to be attached. The pocket (1) includes a planar pocket body (2) that forms an upward-opening storage space with the base material (10), a mounting portion (3) attached to the base material (10), and a lower edge portion (3D) of the mounting portion (3) and a front extension portion (2A) extending forward from the pocket body (2) so as to be disposed below the lower edge portion (3D). The pocket body (2) is connected so as to be openable and closable around an axis (L) extending in the pocket width direction.
[0042] According to the above configuration, the integral hinge (4) is configured to connect between a front extension (2A) extending forward from the pocket body (2) to the front of the pocket and a lower edge (3D) of the mounting portion (3) disposed above it. As a result, the integral hinge (4) is formed at a position higher than the front extension (2A) of the pocket body (2). Consequently, it is possible to make it difficult for the side edges of the integral hinge (4) in the pocket width direction to be exposed on the outer surface of the pocket such as the lower surface or the rear surface of the pocket body (2).
[0043] Also, the integral hinge (4) connects the front surface between the lower edge (3D) of the mounting portion (3) and the front extension (2A) of the pocket body (2) so as to curve and protrude forward of the pocket in the closed state of the pocket body (2). According to the above configuration, the integral hinge (4) can be provided so as not to protrude into the inside of the pocket, that is, the storage portion between the pocket body (2) and the mounting portion (3).
[0044] Further, the base material (10) has an opening (13) or a recess that avoids interference with the integral hinge (4). According to the above configuration, even if the integral hinge (4) is configured to protrude forward of the pocket, it is possible to prevent the integral hinge (4) from interfering with the base material (10). Therefore, the degree of freedom in the shape and arrangement of the pocket (1) can be increased.
[0045] Also, the pocket body (2) has a surface portion (2B) that extends in the pocket height direction along the rear surface of the mounting portion (3) in its closed state. According to the above configuration, the gap (T) between the pocket body (2) and the mounting portion (3) when the pocket body (2) is opened can be narrowed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent objects from falling into the gap (T).
[0046] 《Regarding Other Embodiments》 As described above, the embodiments of the present invention have been described using one embodiment, but the present invention can be implemented in various forms in addition to the above embodiments.
[0047] 1. The pocket of the present invention may be configured as a side pocket provided on the side of the seat back or the seat cushion in addition to the seat back pocket provided on the back of the seat back. Further, the pocket may be attached to the vehicle body structure such as the door trim, deck trim, or instrument panel of the vehicle in addition to the seat.
[0048] The pocket may be provided not only on vehicles such as automobiles and railways but also on vehicles other than vehicles such as airplanes and ships. The base material to which the pocket body is to be attached may be made of a metal member in addition to a resin member.
[0049] 2. The integral hinge may be any that connects between the lower edge of the attachment portion and the front extension that extends forward from the pocket body to be disposed below this lower edge and in front of the pocket. Therefore, the integral hinge may be such that the lower edge of the attachment portion is located in front of the pocket relative to the front extension of the pocket body, and connects between the rear surface or lower surface of this lower edge of the attachment portion and the front surface or upper surface of the front extension.
[0050] 3. In the above embodiment, a configuration in which an opening is formed in the base material to avoid interference with the integral hinge is illustrated, but a recess may be formed instead of the opening.
