Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[0010] First, one carrier according to the embodiment will be described. Hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, the front, rear, left, right, top, and bottom of the carrier 1 are defined as shown by arrows in FIG. 1. Note that the three views of the carrier 1 in FIG. 2 show the rear surface, left side surface, and bottom surface of the carrier 1. The carrier 1 has a frame structure formed of a plurality of rod members, and includes a rectangular parallelepiped storage portion 10 for storing luggage as its main part (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The main function of the carrier 1 is to carry luggage, and the luggage to be carried is stored inside the storage portion 10. The storage portion 10 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape that is long in the vertical direction. Note that the storage portion 10 has a frame structure formed of rod members, but may have a box structure formed of plate materials.
[0011] A wire net 100 is attached to the rear surface, that is, the back surface of the storage portion 10 so that luggage does not fall out from the inside (see FIGS. 1 and 2). Vertical bars 101 are also provided on the left and right side surfaces of the storage portion 10 so that luggage does not fall out from the inside. A plurality of horizontal bars 102 are provided on the back surface and the left and right side surfaces of the storage portion 10 for holding the luggage inside and ensuring the strength of the carrier 1. The wire net 100 is fixed to the inner surface of the horizontal bar 102 on the back surface. The vertical bar 101 intersects the horizontal bar 102 on the side surface of the horizontal bar. No horizontal bar is provided on the front surface, that is, the front surface of the storage portion 10 so that luggage can be easily put in and taken out, and the entire surface is open. Note that, for holding luggage, a rubber band or the like with hooks attached to both ends may be used in combination. A horizontal bar 103 whose both ends are connected to the vertical bar 101 is also provided on the upper surface, that is, the top surface of the storage portion 10.
[0012] The rectangular frame forming the back surface of the storage unit 10 extends upward beyond the top surface of the storage unit 10 and forms a handle 11 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). In other words, the handle 11 is provided at one end (upper end) of the storage unit 10 along the longitudinal direction (vertical direction) passing through the pair of most distant opposing surfaces (top surface and bottom surface) among the six surfaces forming the rectangular parallelepiped formed by the storage unit 10. The handle 11 has a trapezoidal portal shape. Since the handle 11 does not protrude rearward from the surface including the back surface, the back surface of the carrier 1 is formed flat. The handle 11 is gripped by the user when moving the carrier 1.
[0013] Wheels 13 are respectively attached to two corners near the back surface among the four corners of the lower surface, that is, the bottom surface of the storage unit 10 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). In other words, a pair of wheels 13 are provided at the other end (lower end) of the storage unit 10 along the longitudinal direction (vertical direction). Each wheel 13 has a rotating shaft extending in the left - right direction. Each wheel 13 is a so - called fixed caster that does not rotate around an axis extending in the vertical direction. The user can move the carrier 1 while supporting it by the wheels 13 by gripping the handle 11 and pulling (or pushing) the carrier 1 in a state where the carrier 1 is tilted backward (see FIG. 3).
[0014] A U - shaped leg part 14 is provided so as to connect two corners near the front surface of the bottom surface of the storage unit 10 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The leg part 14 is in a form extending the front surface of the storage unit 10, and its height is formed equal to the height of the wheels 13. By the pair of wheels 13 and the leg part 14, the carrier 1 maintains the upright state shown in FIG. 1. A cross bar 104 is provided on the bottom surface of the storage unit 10 for fixing the wheels 13 and ensuring the strength of the carrier 1.
[0015] The rectangular frame structure of the storage unit 10, the vertical bars 101, the horizontal bars 102 to 104, the handle 11, and the legs 14 are formed of aluminum alloy extrusion materials. Therefore, the carrier 1 is lightweight but constructed with sufficient strength and rigidity. These aluminum extrusion materials are connected to each other directly or via joint parts by bolts, nuts, etc. As joint parts, cross-shaped, T-shaped, L-shaped ones, and three-way joint parts arranged at the vertices of the rectangular parallelepiped are used.
[0016] Note that instead of the legs 14, a pair of wheels may be provided. In this case, these wheels may be so-called swivel casters. The swivel casters also have a rotating shaft extending in the vertical direction and can change its direction. In this way, the user can move the carrier 1 in an upright state while supporting it by the fixed casters (wheels 13) and the swivel casters by pushing (or pulling) the upright carrier 1. Since one pair of wheels 13 are fixed casters while the other pair of wheels are swivel casters, the moving direction can be easily changed when the carrier 1 in an upright state is moved. Also, in order to prevent the carrier 1 from moving on an inclined place, the swivel casters (or fixed casters) may have stoppers.
[0017] At the center of the bar member extending in the left-right direction, which is located at the boundary between the back surface and the bottom surface of the storage unit 10, a fixture 15 to be fixed to the rear luggage compartment L of the vehicle V is provided (see Fig. 4). In other words, the fixture 15 is provided between the pair of wheels 13 at the other end (lower end) of the storage unit 10 and is fixed to the vehicle when the carrier 1 is mounted on the rear luggage compartment L of the vehicle. The fixing of the carrier 1 to the rear luggage compartment L of the vehicle will be described later.
[0018] The fixture 15 of the embodiment is a bracket formed by bending a metal plate into an L shape. The fixture 15 is formed with a fixing hole 150 through which the screw shaft of the fixing knob 21 of the fixture 2 described later is inserted, penetrating in the front-rear direction. Similar to the handle 11, the fixture 15 does not protrude rearward from the surface including the back surface, so the back surface of the carrier 1 is flat. Note that wire nets may also be attached to the left and right side surfaces of the storage unit 10. Further, the front surface of the storage unit 10 may be provided with a door that can be opened and closed without being opened or a wire net that can be opened and closed.
[0019] Next, the vehicle mounting structure of the carrier 1 according to the embodiment will be described. Regarding the front, back, top, bottom, and left and right side surfaces of the carrier 1, the above-described explanations shall apply. The front, back, left, right, up, and down of the vehicle mounting structure are defined based on the vehicle as shown by the arrows in FIG. 6. The vehicle mounting structure includes, in addition to the carrier 1 described above, a fixture 2 for fixing the fixture 15 of the carrier 1 and a holder 3 for holding the handle 11 when the carrier 1 is mounted on the rear luggage compartment L (see FIG. 4).
[0020] The fixture 2 is disposed on the floor surface near the back door opening of the rear luggage compartment L. That is, the fixture 2 is provided near the rear end of the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L (see FIG. 4). The fixture 2 of the embodiment has a screw hole 20 provided in the vehicle body (see FIG. 5) and a fixing knob 21 screwed into the screw hole 20 (see FIG. 6). The screw hole 20 provided in the vehicle body is provided by embedding a nut in a floor board 4 laid on the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L. The screw hole 20 may be provided by embedding a weld nut in a steel floor panel of the rear luggage compartment L. The fixing knob 21 is formed by integrally molding a resin knob on the head of a metal bolt screwed into the screw hole 20. A screw shaft of the bolt extends from the knob 210. The fixture 15 of the carrier 1 is fixed to the vehicle body by the fixture 2. In the embodiment, the fixture 15 is fixed to the vehicle body via the floor board 4.
[0021] The floor board 4 is a wooden board having the shape of the floor surface of the rear cargo compartment L (see Fig. 5). Notches are respectively formed on both side edges of the floor board to avoid the wheel house WH (see Fig. 4) in the rear cargo compartment L, and brackets (not shown) are respectively attached before and after these notches. These four brackets are bolted to utility nuts provided on the inner surface of the rear cargo compartment L. Therefore, the carrier 1 can be fixed to the vehicle body via the floor board 4. The screw hole 20 is formed by embedding a so-called ghost eye nut in the floor board 4. Note that the floor board 4 may be formed by resin molding, and the screw hole 20 may be embedded by insert molding an insert nut during resin molding.
[0022] When the carrier 1 is mounted on the rear cargo compartment L, while the bottom surface of the carrier 1 is fixed to the floor board 4 by the fixture 2, the handle 11 of the carrier 1 is held by the vehicle body by the holder 3 (see Figs. 4 to 6). In the embodiment, the handle 11 is held by the vehicle body via the floor board 4. The holder 3 of the embodiment is a trapezoidal frame member that houses the handle 11, and is configured by an aluminum extrusion material similar to the carrier 1 (see Fig. 6). The holder 3 has a trapezoidal portal shape according to the shape of the handle 11. The holder 3 has a pair of inclined side portions 30 arranged in a V-shaped manner that spreads toward the rear side of the vehicle. A cross member 31 extending in the left-right direction is also provided so as to connect the front ends of the pair of inclined side portions 30.
[0023] The interval between the wide sides, i.e., the rear sides, of the pair of inclined side portions 30 is wider than the width of the handle 11, and the interval between their narrow sides, i.e., the front sides, is substantially the same width as the upper end of the handle 11 in the embodiment. Fixing holes 300 are formed in each inclined side portion 30 in the same manner as the fixture 15. Corresponding to these fixing holes, screw holes 32 similar to the screw holes 20 of the fixture 2 are also provided in the floor board 4 (see Fig. 5). By inserting the screw shaft of the fixing knob 33 similar to the fixing knob 21 of the fixture 2 into the fixing hole 300 formed in the inclined side portion 30 and then fastening it to the screw hole 32, the holder 3 is fixed to the vehicle body. In the embodiment, the holder 3 is fixed to the vehicle body via the floor board 4.
[0024] Further, the retainer 3 has a protruding portion 34 that protrudes rearward of the vehicle from the upper surface of the cross member 31 (see FIG. 6). A protruding portion 35 also protrudes rearward and laterally from the upper surface of each inclined side portion 30. The functions of the pair of inclined side portions 30 and the protruding portions 34 and 35 will be described later.
[0025] Next, the loading operation and the fixing operation of the carrier 1 into the rear luggage compartment L will be described. Note that a floor board 4 to which the retainer 3 is fixed is already loaded in the rear luggage compartment L.
[0026] The user moves the carrier 1 with luggage stored in the storage portion 10 to the vicinity of the rear luggage compartment L where the back door is opened and the opening is open. This movement can be easily performed by tilting the carrier 1 and pulling the handle 11. Next, the user places the upper part of the carrier 1 on the rear end of the rear luggage compartment L while holding the handle 11, and then lifts the bottom surface of the carrier 1 to set the carrier 1 in a horizontal posture (see FIG. 7). When lifting the bottom surface of the carrier 1, the U-shaped leg portion 14 can be used as a handle. From this horizontal posture state, the user slides the carrier 1 on the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L and inserts the carrier 1 to the back of the rear luggage compartment L. As described above, since the back surface of the carrier 1 is flat, it is also possible to easily mount the carrier 1 by sliding it on the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L.
[0027] When pushing the carrier 1 to the back, the positions of the handle 11 and the retainer 3 are roughly aligned so that the handle 11 is stored in the retainer 3. Since the retainer 3 has a pair of inclined side portions 30 arranged in a V shape, when the carrier 1 is pushed in, the handle 11 is guided by the pair of inclined side portions 30, and the upper part of the carrier 1 is positioned in the left-right direction. In the embodiment, when the handle 11 abuts against the cross member 31 of the retainer 3, the carrier 1 is also positioned in the front-rear direction. Further, in the embodiment, since the handle 11 is also formed in a trapezoidal shape in accordance with the shape of the pair of inclined side portions 30, the carrier 1 is positioned so as to be substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
[0028] Also, when the carrier 1 is mounted in the rear luggage compartment L and the handle 11 abuts against the holder 3, the protruding portions 34 and 35 of the holder 3 cover at least a part of the handle 11 from above. Therefore, the vertical displacement of the handle 11 stored in the holder 3 is also restricted. When the vehicle is running, vibration is transmitted to the carrier 1, but the horizontal displacement of the upper part (front part at the time of mounting) of the carrier 1 is restricted by the pair of inclined side portions 30, and the vertical displacement is restricted by the protruding portions 34 and 35.
[0029] In addition, in the embodiment, a cross member 31 connecting the front ends of the pair of inclined side portions 30 is also provided. However, when the interval between the narrow sides of the pair of inclined side portions 30, that is, the front side, is narrower than the width of the handle 11, the cross member 31 may not be provided. However, when the cross member 31 is not provided, each inclined side portion 30 is fixed to the vehicle body (floor board 4) so as to maintain its arrangement. Also, in this case as well, if the inclination of the pair of inclined side portions 30 arranged in a V shape coincides with the inclination of the handle 11, the carrier 1 is not only guided by the pair of inclined side portions 30 and positioned in the horizontal direction, but also positioned so as to be substantially parallel in the front-rear direction.
[0030] Since the carrier 1 with the handle 11 stored in the holder 3 is positioned substantially parallel in the front-rear direction, the fixture 15 of the carrier 1 is located near the fixture 2 in the rear luggage compartment L. The user aligns the position of the screw hole 20 of the fixture 2 and the position of the fixing hole 150 of the fixture 15, and then fastens the screw shaft of the fixing knob 21 to the screw hole 20 while inserting it into the fixing hole 150. Thereby, the fixing of the carrier 1 to the rear luggage compartment L is completed. When removing the carrier 1 from the rear luggage compartment L, the above-described mounting procedure and fixing procedure may be performed in reverse.
[0031] When carrier 1 is mounted in the rear luggage compartment L, the fixture to be fixed 15 and the fixture 2 are arranged near the rear end of the rear luggage compartment L. The user stands near the opening of the back door and can perform the fixing work without leaning out. When the fixture to be fixed 15 is fixed to the vehicle body (floor board 4) by the fixture 2, the displacement of the lower part (rear part at the time of mounting) of the carrier 1 in the horizontal and vertical directions is also restricted. Further, since the position of the carrier 1 is fixed by the fixing of the fixture to be fixed 15 and the fixture 2, the detachment of the handle 11 from the holder 3 is also restricted.
[0032] When the carrier 1 is mounted in the rear luggage compartment L in a posture where the longitudinal direction of the carrier 1 is parallel to the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L, the pair of wheels 13 are arranged at positions where they do not contact the floor surface. In other words, the pair of wheels 13 are provided on the floor surface of the carrier 1 so as to be separated from the floor surface of the rear luggage compartment L when the carrier 1 is mounted on the vehicle. Therefore, when the carrier 1 is pushed into the back of the rear luggage compartment L, it is possible to avoid the wheels 13 interfering with the floor surface and inhibiting the pushing-in. Further, since the wheels 13 do not interfere with the floor surface even after the carrier 1 is fixed to the rear luggage compartment L, it is possible to avoid the generation of noise due to the interference between the wheels 13 and the floor surface caused by the vibration during running.
[0033] When the carrier 1 is mounted and fixed in the rear luggage compartment L, the handle 11 is located behind the leg portion of the seat S (see FIGS. 4 and 7). Therefore, in the case where the handle 11 comes off from the holder 3 during a frontal collision or a rear collision of the vehicle, the handle 11 interferes with the leg portion of the seat S and the forward movement of the carrier 1 is suppressed. Therefore, the safety of the occupants can be ensured.
[0034] In the embodiment, one carrier 1 is mounted in the center of the rear luggage compartment L, and one fixture 2 and one holder 3 are provided on the floor board 4 (see FIG. 8A). However, when the distance between the left and right wheel houses WH in the rear luggage compartment L is more than twice the width of the carrier 1, a vehicle mounting structure in which two fixtures 2 and two holders 3 are provided on the floor board 4 and two carriers 1 are mounted may be constructed (see FIG. 8B).
[0035] In addition, in the vehicle-mounted structure described above, since the front of the carrier 1 is directed upward, by placing the plate P on the upper surface of the rectangular parallelepiped storage portion 10, it can be used as a table or as a bed (see Fig. 8C). Further, in the embodiment, the height of the carrier 1 when mounted on the vehicle is higher than the height of the left and right wheel houses of the rear luggage compartment L. Therefore, by mounting two carriers 1, it becomes possible to further mount on the two carriers 1 an object having a width larger than the distance between the wheel houses. For example, it is also possible to horizontally stack and mount plates with a large width, or to mount a racing cart with tires still attached.
[0036] The operation and effect of the carrier 1 according to the embodiment will be described.
[0037] The carrier 1 according to the embodiment includes a rectangular parallelepiped storage portion 10 for storing luggage, a handle 11, a pair of wheels 13, and a fixture 15 provided between the pair of wheels 13. The handle 11 is provided at one end of the storage portion 10 along the longitudinal direction of the rectangular parallelepiped storage portion 10, and the pair of wheels 13 are provided at the other end of the storage portion 10. When the carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment L, the pair of wheels 13 are on the vehicle rear side of the handle 11. According to the above configuration, the luggage can be stored in the storage portion 10, and the movement of the luggage to the vehicle for loading into the luggage compartment and the movement of the luggage from the vehicle after taking it out of the vehicle can be easily performed using the carrier 1 having the wheels 13 and the handle 11.
[0038] In addition, when the carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment, the user can safely and simply fix the carrier 1 in the vehicle interior by fixing the fixture 15 provided on the rear end side, which is the other end, to the vehicle. Further, when the carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment, the handle 11 on the front end side is disposed close to the rear of the leg portion of the seat S, and the fixture 15 on the rear end side is fixed to the vehicle. Therefore, the forward movement of the carrier 1 during a frontal collision of the vehicle can be suppressed, ensuring safety.
[0039] The operation and effect of the vehicle-mounted structure of carrier 1 according to the embodiment will be described.
[0040] The vehicle-mounted structure of carrier 1 according to the embodiment includes carrier 1 and a holder 3 provided in the luggage compartment L for holding the handle 11 when carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment L. Therefore, when carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment, in addition to fixing the fixture 15 on the rear end side to the vehicle, the handle 11 on the front end side is also held by the holder 3, so that carrier 1 can be fixed more stably. Further, the holder 3 has a pair of inclined side portions 30 arranged in a shape of an inverted V that spreads toward the rear side of the vehicle, and the interval between the wide sides of the pair of inclined side portions 30 is wider than the lateral width of the handle 11. Therefore, when carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment L, the handle 11 is guided and positioned by the pair of inclined side portions 30 arranged in a shape of an inverted V, so that carrier 1 can be more easily mounted in the luggage compartment L. Further, since one end of carrier 1 is positioned by the holder 3, when the other end of carrier 1 is fixed by the fixture 15, it becomes easier to position the fixture 15, and the fixing operation of carrier 1 is also easier to perform.
[0041] Further, in the embodiment, the holder 3 has protruding portions 34 and 35 that protrude toward the rear side of the vehicle. When the handle 11 is abutted against the holder 3 when carrier 1 is mounted in the luggage compartment L, the protruding portions 34 and 35 cover at least a part of the handle 11 from above. Therefore, the handle 11 is restricted from displacement in the vertical direction by the protruding portions 34 and 35 in addition to the restriction of displacement in the horizontal direction by the pair of inclined side portions 30. As a result, it is possible to suppress carrier 1 from being displaced or generating noise due to vibration during vehicle travel.
[0042] Furthermore, in the embodiment, when the pair of wheels 13 are arranged at positions where they do not contact the floor surface of the luggage compartment L when the carrier 1 is mounted on the luggage compartment L in a posture where the longitudinal direction of the storage portion 10 is parallel to the floor surface of the luggage compartment L and the handle 11 is held by the holder 3. For this reason, when mounting the carrier 1 on the luggage compartment L, it is possible to avoid the wheels 13 interfering with the floor surface and inhibiting the pushing-in of the carrier 1. Also, even after the carrier 1 is fixed to the rear luggage compartment L, the wheels 13 do not interfere with the floor surface, so it is possible to avoid the generation of noise due to interference between the wheels 13 and the floor surface caused by vibrations during traveling.
[0043] In the above embodiment, the carrier 1 is fixed to and gripped by the vehicle body via the floor board 4, but the carrier 1 may be fixed to the floor panel or side panel of the rear luggage compartment L without providing the floor board 4. Also, the holder 3 may be formed in a box shape as a resin molded product or a press-worked metal plate, or may be formed of wood.
[0044] As described above, although the embodiments of the present invention have been described, it should not be understood that the discussions and drawings forming a part of this disclosure limit this invention. Various alternative embodiments, examples, and operation techniques will be apparent to those skilled in the art from this disclosure.
