Description

Technical Field

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the field of screensavers. More particularly, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for providing a live information screensaver on a living room device.

Background Art

[0002] The following description of related art is intended to provide background information related to the field of the present disclosure. This section may include some aspects of the art related to various features of the present disclosure. However, it should be understood that this section is used only for the purpose of improving the reader's understanding of the present disclosure, not as an approval of the prior art.

[0003] The development of technology has significantly changed the way individuals interact with and recognize devices such as laptops, mobile phones, and televisions (TVs). More specifically, traditional TV usage requires active consumption where the user intentionally tunes to a specific program. However, a significant change has been observed in the popularity of the ambient state of smart TVs, where users choose to keep their smart TVs on during inactive periods mainly for the aesthetic ambiance provided by the smart TVs. In addition, smart TVs offer an ambient mode that allows users to display various contents such as images, art, weather update information, etc. on the screen.

[0004] The ambient mode is regarded as a passive and visually pleasant feature. Users frequently look at the ambient screen, but this interaction generally brings no substantial value beyond the realm of visual aesthetics. During the ambient mode, multiple contents are displayed on the screen of the smart TV in the form of wallpapers or widgets. Major brands have introduced visually appealing screensavers that activate when the screen is in an idle state, and in some cases, transform a dormant display into a visually captivating experience. Additionally, users are provided with options ranging from beautiful landscape paintings to abstract paintings and are permitted to choose from various pre-installed screensavers.

[0005] Screensavers include wallpapers and widgets that contribute to both the visual and functional aspects. Wallpapers generally include one or more images, which may be static or dynamic. These images can include beautiful landscape paintings, abstract paintings, or any other digital figures. On the other hand, widgets are small interactive applications or tools that generally exist within a dedicated area of the wallpaper. Widgets provide access to information, specific functionality, or function as shortcuts to applications. For example, a weather widget can display the current temperature and forecast, a clock widget can indicate the time in a specific time zone, and a calendar widget can provide a snapshot of upcoming events.

[0006] Moreover, several systems and methods are available in the public domain for providing numerous screensavers for electronic devices such as smart TVs and laptops. With the advancement of graphics technology, the currently available systems and methods are capable of providing high-quality screensavers with improved display resolution and color depth. Additionally, there are systems and methods available in the market that produce screensavers that include visual effects, 3D graphics, and interactive elements beyond basic videos.

[0007] However, despite these advancements, conventional systems or methods for generating a screen saver for ambient mode still cannot deliver a truly immersive user experience or live information such as breaking news or stock market data. Moreover, users increasingly desire customized, dynamic, and real-time information that conventional systems and methods lack. In addition, conventional systems and methods provide users with static and outdated information, further degrading the overall user experience.

[0008] Furthermore, a significant limitation of conventional systems and methods is their inability to adapt to user preferences through customization. The static content provided by known solutions hinders users from tailoring information according to their personal preferences or interests. As a result, users feel limited in their ability to interact with and personalize their ambient screen.

[0009] This gap in functionality not only impairs the immersive potential of ambient display technology but also clearly indicates the urgent need for innovation and improvement. To fully realize this potential in enhancing the user experience during passive TV viewing, advancements are clearly needed to address the limitations of conventional systems. In addition, users are seeking a more engaging and customizable experience through access to dynamic real-time information seamlessly integrated within their ambient screen saver.

[0010] Therefore, there is an absolute need in the art to provide a live information screen saver that improves the overall user experience. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED BY THE INVENTION

[0034] As discussed in the Background section, the currently known solutions have several drawbacks. The present disclosure provides a system and method for providing a live information screensaver on a living room device such as a smart TV for delivering live and up-to-date information in real time, ensuring that the user has access to the latest news, updated information, or relevant content without actively seeking access thereto, thereby adding value to the user experience by providing an improved, dynamically generated, attractive screensaver, and aiming to overcome the above-mentioned and other existing problems in the art. Specifically, the present disclosure provides a more robust solution for providing a live information screensaver on a living room device such as a smart TV. The solution also includes using live information collected from third-party vendors and generating wallpapers and widgets presenting the live information in an even more glanceable format. For example, one or more live information screensavers may include one or more wallpapers and / or one or more widgets. The one or more wallpapers can provide live trending information such as entertainment, business, politics, world news, sports, etc. The one or more widgets may include live weather, live sports, latest news, and trending videos. For example, in a scenario where any match and / or game is live, minute-by-minute updated information on the live match and / or game is provided to the user via one or more live information screensavers.

[0035] The present invention first fetches live information content for one or more screensavers. The live information content includes a set of one or more pieces of information. This may be in the form of news articles, sports scores and stats, stock prices, weather information in the form of web pages and RSS feeds via an API. For example, if the live information content relates to a sports game, the one or more pieces of information relate to highlights, scores, players or combinations thereof. Further, a set of keywords is extracted from the live information content. The set of keywords includes one or more keywords related to the one or more pieces of information. Thereafter, one or more images related to the one or more pieces of information are generated. Additionally, the one or more images are generated based on the one or more keywords. The generated images provide a visual representation of the information or content. Further, the one or more images are stitched with the one or more pieces of information to obtain one or more live information screensavers, and the one or more live information screensavers are then provided to the user or a digital device such as a smart TV, smartphone, electronic tablet that the user accesses. All of the above steps occur in near real-time, thereby generating an image as soon as the information / content is received via the source.

[0036] Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a solution incorporating a processing unit and a generating AI unit for providing a live information screensaver to a living room device. The method disclosed in the present disclosure is technically advanced compared to existing methods as it provides a dynamically generated, live, aesthetically pleasing, and useful information screensaver according to user data. Moreover, the processing unit is configured to fetch live information content based on user data, such as user preferences, user behavior to ensure that relevant live information is presented to the user in the form of one or more live information screensavers. Further, prior to extracting one or more keywords from the live information, one or more pieces of information within the live information are ranked by a ranker unit according to the latest trends and / or user preferences to ensure that relevant live information is presented to the user. In this way, it provides a real-time perspective, enables the user to access the latest and appropriate content, and ensures a personalized and emotionally resonant experience that enables the user to engage with one or more live information screensavers that match the user's preferences.

[0037] Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings so that those skilled in the art can easily implement the solutions provided by the present disclosure.

[0052] Furthermore, as soon as the live information is fetched, the processing unit

[0102] is configured to extract a set of keywords within the live information content, where the set of keywords includes one or more keywords related to one or more pieces of information. For example, the processing unit

[0102] may extract a set of keywords such as "victory", "India" from live information content such as sports news.

[0053] In one implementation, the processing unit

[0102] is configured to collect metadata related to at least one of one or more pieces of information and updated information related to at least one of one or more pieces of information. For example, when fetching a news article, the metadata may include details such as the publication date, author, and keywords associated with each article. The metadata provides context and additional information regarding the news content. Furthermore, in the context of financial market data, the metadata may include information such as the latest stock price update, trading volume, and timestamp of the change rate. Additionally, in the case of weather update information, the metadata may include the time of the latest weather report and any related weather conditions (e.g., sunny, rainy, or cloudy). In one implementation, the processing unit

[0102] collects the metadata based on the relevant user data of at least one of the living room device and one or more user devices in communication with the living room device.

[0054] In one implementation form, prior to the processing unit

[0102] extracting a set of keywords in the live information content, the ranker unit

[0116] is configured to rank one or more pieces of information.

[0055] In one implementation form, the ranker unit

[0116] is configured to rank one or more pieces of information based on user preferences. In addition to this, the ranking of one or more pieces of information may be performed according to popularity, relevance, user activity, or a combination thereof. User preferences may include, but are not limited to, favorite sports, players or teams, social network information, demographic information, and contact information.

[0056] In one implementation form, the system includes a recommendation unit

[0120] . Prior to the processing unit

[0102] extracting a set of keywords in the live information content, the recommendation unit

[0120] is configured to perform one or more of short title creation and a language conversion process on one or more ranked pieces of information.

[0057] Furthermore, the generative AI unit

[0104] is configured to generate one or more images regarding one or more pieces of information. The one or more images are generated based on one or more keywords and one or more pieces of information. For example, the one or more pieces of information and one or more keywords relate to weather content such as heavy rain or overcast skies, in which case the generative AI unit

[0104] is configured to generate one or more images regarding heavy rain or overcast skies.

[0058] In addition, the generative AI unit

[0104] assists in providing one or more visually appealing, contextually relevant images to provide one or more live information screensavers. In one implementation, the generative AI unit

[0104] can utilize one or more techniques, such as generative pre-trained transformer techniques, natural language processing techniques, or any other technique that may be apparent to those skilled in the art for implementing the features of the present disclosure.

[0059] Furthermore, as soon as one or more images are generated, the generative AI unit

[0104] is configured to stitch one or more images with one or more pieces of information to obtain one or more live information screensavers provided to a living room device such as a smart TV.

[0060] In one implementation, stitching one or more images with one or more pieces of information can be performed by an overlay technique, a side-by-side placement technique, a blending technique, SIFT (Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) stitching, SURF (Speeded Up Robust Features) stitching, ORB (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF) stitching, or a combination thereof.

[0061] For example, the generative AI unit

[0104] can integrate one or more images generated based on one or more keywords with one or more pieces of information to obtain one or more live information screensavers.

[0062] In another example, when one or more of the generated images relate to heavy rain at a specific location and one or more keywords or one or more pieces of information include "8.9 mm of precipitation per hour", the generative AI unit

[0104] stitches the images related to heavy rain with the piece of information "8.9 mm of precipitation per hour" to obtain one or more live information screensavers.

[0063] In one implementation, the scheduler unit

[0108] is configured to read one or more live information screensavers within the database

[0106] . Further, the scheduler unit

[0108] is configured to store one or more live information screensavers within the cache memory unit

[0110] . The scheduler unit

[0108] is further configured to read one or more live information screensavers within the database

[0106] at a predefined frequency.

[0064] For example, the generative AI unit

[0104] provided one or more live information screensavers, each showcasing real-time content update information, such that the scheduler unit

[0114] ; and storing the live information content collected from one or more third-party vendors in the database

[0106] by the processing unit

[0102] . It includes.

[0077] In one implementation, the step of fetching live information content for one or more screensavers by the processing unit

[0102] includes: collecting live information content from the internal storage unit

[0112] by the processing unit

[0102] via the content management system

[0118] ; and storing the live information content collected from the internal storage unit

[0112] in the database

[0106] by the processing unit

[0102] . It includes. In one implementation, the collection of live information content from one or more third-party vendors is based on user data related to at least one of a living room device and one or more user devices in communication with the living room device. User data includes, but is not limited to, user preferences, user behavior, and the user's mood / feelings. One or more user devices include, but are not limited to, smartphones, smartwatches, and electronic tablets.

[0078] In one implementation form, the collection of live information content from the internal memory unit is based on user data related to at least one of the living room device and one or more user devices communicating with the living room device.

[0079] For example, when user data related to one or more user devices indicates that the user is excited about a football game, the processing unit

[0100] fetches live information content related to the football game to provide the user with a real-time perspective in the form of one or more live information screensavers. Thus, the system offers the user a real-time emotionally rich viewing experience.

[0080] In another example, the collection of live information content from one or more third-party vendors is based on user data, such as preferences regarding news types. For example, if the user clearly shows a preference for stock news compared to other forms of information, live information content related to stock news is collected. In addition to this, the collection of live information may also be based on one or more emotions expressed by the user on one or more user devices, such as a mobile phone, thereby ensuring that one or more live information screensavers provided to the living room device are in line with the user's interests and resonate with the user's emotional context.

[0081] For example, to enrich the user experience with a variety of real-time data, live information content such as popular news channels or aggregators, the latest headlines, breaking news, and feature articles is fetched by the processing unit

[0102] from third-party vendors. The third-party vendors may include news channels and aggregators, financial market applications, entertainment applications, social media feeds, weather applications.

[0082] In another example, the collection of live information content from one or more third-party vendors is based on user data, such as preferences regarding news types.
