[0003] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2011-186757 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] However, even if the above-mentioned conventional devices are capable of changing the voice quality, volume, phonemes, etc., further improvements are required to prevent users from listening without paying attention.
[0005] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is therefore an object of one aspect of the present invention to provide a product processing device that can reduce the risk that an operator will ignore audio output when it is being output. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] (1) A product processing device according to one aspect of the present invention is a product processing device that reads out product information obtained from a product master in which product information consisting of multiple product items is registered using a voice generating device, and notifies an operator of the readout. The product processing device includes a first designation unit that designates an item from the multiple product items to be read out by the voice generating device, and a second designation unit that designates the characteristics of the voice when the voice generating device reads out the item designated by the first designation unit.
[0007] With this configuration, when product information comprising multiple product items is read out, the multiple product items are not read out in a monotonous succession, but rather the voice characteristics are changed for each specified product item, thereby reducing the risk that the operator will ignore the output voice.
[0008] (2) In the product processing device described in (1) above, the second designation unit may designate one or a combination of voice quality, volume, and speed that represent differences between men and women. This configuration allows the operator to easily recognize the changes, thereby effectively attracting the operator's attention.
[0009] (3) In the product processing device described in (1) above, the second designation unit may designate that when the content stored in the product master is changed, the word "changed" be spoken before the changed content is read out. This configuration allows the operator to more carefully check the parts of the information that have been changed.
[0010] (4) In the product processing device according to any one of (1) to (3) above, the second designation unit may designate that a pause be inserted between product items when the voice generating device reads out the product information. In this configuration, the operator can confirm the content of each item.
[0011] (5) In the product processing device described in any one of (1) to (4) above, the product items that can be specified by the first specifying unit may include at least one of the product number, product name, price per unit weight, place of origin, and price. In this configuration, the operator can confirm the contents of the product items such as the product number, product name, price per unit weight, place of origin, and price.
[0012] (6) The product processing device according to any one of (1) to (5) above may be a printer, an electronic scale with a printer, or a weighing, packaging, or pricing device. This configuration reduces the risk that the operator will ignore the audio output when operating the printer, electronic scale with a printer, or weighing, packaging, or pricing device. [Effects of the Invention]
[0013] According to one aspect of the present invention, it is possible to reduce the risk that an operator will ignore an output of audio. [Brief explanation of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] Hereinafter, a weighing, packaging, and pricing device according to one embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. In the description of the drawings, the same elements are given the same reference numerals, and duplicated explanations will be omitted.
[0016] As shown in Figure 1, the weighing, packaging, and pricing device (product processing device) 1 is a device that weighs and packages a product, and then issues a printed label on which product information about the product is printed and affixes it to the product.
[0017] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 includes a weighing section 2, a packaging section 3, a printing section 4, an attaching section 5, a control unit 10, and a sound generating device 40.
[0018] The weighing unit 2 weighs the products. The weighing unit 2 is provided in the center of the front of the main body 1a. The weighing unit 2 has a weighing pan 21 that weighs the weight of products such as food placed on a tray when a load is applied to a load sensor such as a load cell, and a conveying mechanism 23 that conveys the products placed on the weighing pan 21 to the packaging unit 3.
[0019] The packaging unit 3 packages the products weighed by the weighing unit 2 in stretch film. The packaging unit 3 has a lift mechanism 31 that lifts the products to a predetermined position, a film roll support mechanism 32 that supports the stretch film, a film delivery mechanism 33 that delivers the stretch film to a predetermined position, a folding mechanism 34 that folds the stretch film onto the bottom side of the product, and a sealing mechanism 35 that seals the stretch film.
[0020] The lift mechanism 31 raises the product received from the weighing unit 2 to a predetermined position and lifts up the stretch film stretched to a predetermined position by the film feeding mechanism 33. The folding mechanism 34 folds the stretch film lifted by the product onto the bottom side of the product to package the product. The sealing mechanism 35 applies a heat seal to the stretch film folded onto the bottom side of the product by the folding mechanism 34.
[0021] The printing unit 4 prints product information on a label and issues it as a printed label. The printing unit 4 is located above the folding mechanism 34 and the sealing mechanism 35. The printing unit 4 is configured integrally with the attaching unit 5. A portion of the product information, which is made up of multiple product items, is printed on the printed label. Examples of product information include the product name, place of origin, unit price (price per unit weight), product price, expiration date, etc. The product information for the product to be weighed can be obtained from a product master in which multiple pieces of product information are registered. The product master is stored in the memory unit 8. The memory unit 8 may be an auxiliary storage device such as an SSD or HDD built into the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1, or it may be an external server device or the like that can communicate via a network.
[0022] The application unit 5 applies the printed label issued by the printing unit 4 to the product packaged by the packaging unit 3. The application unit 5 is provided so as to be movable between the printing unit 4 and the product to which the printed label is to be applied. The application unit 5 applies the printed label received from the printing unit 4 to a predetermined position on the product packaged in film.
[0023] The display panel 6 is provided on the top of the main body 1a. The display panel 6 is a touch panel that displays various information to the operator and can accept operations from the operator. The display panel 6 may be configured to include a touch panel and fixed keys. If fixed keys are included, keys such as a "unit price" key, a "fixed amount" key, a "tare" key, a "print" key, and a "call" key, which are necessary for a fee scale, may be provided, and these may be appropriately arranged together with the numeric keys. The display panel 6 displays information necessary for operating the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 under the control of the control unit 10.
[0024] For example, when the operator specifies a product to be weighed (when the product number is input), a product information management screen SC1 such as that shown in Fig. 3 is displayed on the display panel 6. The product information management screen SC1 displays the product number (call number), product name, place of origin, unit price, etc. of the product to be weighed.
[0025] The control unit 10 is disposed on top of the main body 1a. The control unit 10 controls various operations of the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1. In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1, when a product is placed on the weighing pan 21, the weight of the product is weighed by a load sensor supporting the weighing pan 21, and when the control unit 10 determines that the weight value of the product measured by the weighing section 2 has stabilized, the control unit 10 controls the conveying mechanism 23 to convey the product to the packaging section 3, controls the packaging section 3 to package the product, controls the printing section 4 to issue a printed label, and controls the affixing section 5 to affix the printed label to the product packaged by the packaging section 3.
[0026] The speaker 7 is provided near the display panel 6. The speaker 7 outputs a portion of the product information, including at least the product name, by voice. In this embodiment, when the product information management screen SC1 is displayed, the speaker 7 outputs the product number (call number), product name, place of origin, and unit price of the product to be weighed by voice.
[0027] The voice generating device 40 includes the control unit 10 and the speaker 7. The voice generating device 40 outputs aloud product information acquired from a product master in which product information consisting of a plurality of product items is registered, thereby notifying the operator. Hereinafter, the voice output by the speaker 7 is also referred to as "reading out." The timing, volume, voice quality, reading speed, etc. of the voice output of the speaker 7 are controlled by the control unit 10. The voice quality here refers to the quality of a voice, and includes, for example, a male voice, a female voice, a child's voice, etc.
[0028] In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of this embodiment, when an operator inputs a product number, a product information management screen SC1 such as that shown in Fig. 3 is displayed, and the product items displayed on the product information management screen SC1 (product number R1, product name R2, place of origin R3, and unit price R4 of the product to be weighed) are read out by the voice generating device 40. The weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 allows the user to set how the voice generating device 40 will read out the information displayed on the product information management screen SC1.
[0029] The weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 includes a first designation unit 61 that designates an item from a plurality of product items to be read out by the voice generation device 40, and a second designation unit 62 that designates the characteristics of the voice used when the voice generation device 40 reads out the item designated by the first designation unit 61. Product items that can be designated by the first designation unit 61 include at least one of the product number, product name, price per unit weight, place of origin, and price. In this embodiment, the product number and place of origin can be designated by the first designation unit 61. Specific setting methods will be described in detail below.
[0030] The second designation unit 62 can designate any one or a combination of voice quality, volume, and speed that represent the difference between men and women. The second designation unit 62 can also designate whether to insert a pause between product items when the voice generation device 40 reads out product information. Settings for the voice output operation of the voice generation device 40, such as the first designation unit 61 and the second designation unit 62, can be made from a voice readout setting screen SC2 as shown in FIG. 4. The voice readout setting screen SC2 can be accessed from the menu button B1 or the like on the product information management screen SC1 shown in FIG. 3. The voice readout setting screen SC2 will be described below.
[0031] As shown in Figure 4, the voice reading setting screen SC2 includes a reading on / off setting section A1, a reading speed setting section A2, a first voice type setting section A3, a second voice type setting section A4, a volume setting section A5, a production on / off setting section A6, a reading method setting section A7, a silent time setting section A8, and a place of origin reading setting section A9.
[0032] The read-out setting unit A1 sets whether or not to read out the product items using the voice generation device 40. More specifically, when the operator inputs the product number of the product to be produced, the product information management screen SC1 shown in Fig. 3 is displayed, and this unit sets whether or not to read out the product items (product number, product name, place of origin, and unit price) displayed on the product information management screen SC1 at this time. Here, if "no" is selected, the product items will not be read out by the voice generation device 40, and if "yes" is selected, the product items will be read out by the voice generation device 40.
[0033] The reading speed setting unit A2 is a unit that sets the speed at which the product items are read out by the voice generating device 40. In this embodiment, the reading speed setting unit A2 allows selection from three speeds: "slow speed," "medium speed," and "fast speed."
[0034] The first voice type setting unit A3 is a unit that sets the characteristics in which the product number, product name, and unit price will be read out among the product items read out by the voice generation device 40. More specifically, the first voice type setting unit A3 sets which voice quality, "Female 1," "Female 2," "Male 1," or "Male 2," will be used to read out the product number, product name, and unit price. "Female 1" and "Female 2" are different voice qualities even though they are both women. "Male 1" and "Male 2" are different voice qualities even though they are both men. The voice generation device 40 reads out the product number, product name, and unit price in the voice quality selected in the first voice type setting unit A3.
[0035] The second voice type setting unit A4 is a unit that sets the characteristics in which the place of origin name, one of the product items read out by the voice generation device 40, is read out. More specifically, the second voice type setting unit A4 sets which voice quality, "Female 1," "Female 2," "Male 1," or "Male 2," will be used to read out the place of origin name. The voice quality when "Female 1," "Female 2," "Male 1," or "Male 2" is selected is the same as the voice quality selected in the first voice type setting unit A3. The voice generation device 40 reads out the place of origin name in the voice quality selected in the second voice type setting unit A4.
[0036] The volume setting section A5 is a section for setting the volume when the product items are read out by the voice generating device 40. In this embodiment, the volume can be set within a range of 5 to 60, and the larger the value, the louder the volume when the product items are read out.
[0037] The production enable / disable setting unit A6 is a section that is set to prohibit or permit production of goods by the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 while the sound generating device 40 is reading out the product items. If "prohibit" is selected here, production of the goods to be weighed (weighing, packaging, and pricing by the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1) is prohibited while the sound generating device 40 is reading out. Note that the configuration may also be such that production of the goods to be weighed (weighing, packaging, and pricing by the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1) starts automatically when the sound generating device 40 finishes reading out. If "permit" is selected here, production of the goods to be weighed (weighing, packaging, and pricing by the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1) is carried out even while the sound generating device 40 is reading out (even if the sound generating device 40 has not finished reading out).
[0038] The reading style setting section A7 is a section for setting whether or not the product number is to be read aloud by the voice generating device 40, and how the product number is to be read aloud. Here, if "none" is selected, the product number is not read aloud by the voice generating device 40. If "number" is selected, the product number is read aloud by the voice generating device 40, and the digits of the product number are read aloud. For example, if the product number read from the product master is "12", the voice generating device 40 will pronounce it as "12". If "monotone reading" is selected, the product number is read aloud by the voice generating device 40, and the product number is read aloud in a monotone. For example, if the product number read from the product master is "120", the voice generating device 40 will pronounce it as "one, two, zero" or "one, two, circle".
[0039] The silence time setting section A8 is a section for setting whether or not to set a silence time between a product number and a product name when the voice generating device 40 reads out product items, i.e., a product number and a product name. When the voice generating device 40 reads out product items consecutively, the silence time between the product items cannot be strictly set to zero, considering ease of listening. For this reason, the initial setting is a minimum gap time that allows for discernment when product items are read out consecutively. Therefore, when "None" is selected here, the voice generating device 40 reads out the product number and product name consecutively, with the above-mentioned gap time in between. When "Yes" is selected here, the voice generating device 40 reads out the product number and product name consecutively, with a predetermined time (e.g., 0.4 seconds or 0.8 seconds) added as the above-mentioned gap time in between.
[0040] The place of origin name reading setting section A9 is a section for setting whether or not to read out the place of origin name, which is one of the product items. If "No" is selected, the place of origin name will not be read out by the voice generating device 40, and if "Yes" is selected, the place of origin name will be read out by the voice generating device 40.
[0041] Product information to be registered in the product master can be registered on a product information setting screen SC3 as shown in Fig. 5(A), which can be accessed from the menu button B1 on the product information management screen SC1 in Fig. 4. A plurality of product items are registered for product information using the product number as a key. Furthermore, product items on the product information setting screen SC3 can be entered in a selection format by registering them on a place of origin registration screen SC4 as shown in Fig. 5(B). Fig. 5(B) shows an example of the place of origin registration screen SC4 on which selection candidates for place of origin are registered.
[0042] By configuring the various settings on the voice reading setting screen SC2 described above, it is possible to specify which of the multiple product items the voice generation device 40 will read out, and to specify the characteristics of the voice used when the voice generation device 40 reads out the specified item. Specifically, the reading style setting unit A7 and the place of origin reading setting unit A9 correspond to a first specification unit 61 that specifies which of the multiple product items the voice generation device 40 will read out. Furthermore, the reading speed setting unit A2, the first voice type setting unit A3, the second voice type setting unit A4, the volume setting unit A5, the reading style setting unit A7, and the silence time setting unit A8 correspond to a second specification unit 62 that specifies the characteristics of the voice used when the voice generation device 40 reads out the item specified by the first specification unit 61.
[0043] As described above, the various settings set on the voice reading setting screen SC2 are acquired by the control unit 10. That is, the contents (items) input (set) by the first designation unit 61 and the second designation unit 62 are acquired by the control unit 10. The control unit 10 controls the voice generation device 40 etc. in accordance with the various settings acquired.
[0044] Here, we will explain the operation of the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 when the following settings are made on the voice reading setting screen SC2 shown in Figure 4: "Yes" in the reading on / off setting section A1, "Medium speed" in the reading speed setting section A2, "Female 1" in the first voice type setting section A3, "Male 1" in the second voice type setting section A4, "15" in the volume setting section A5, "Prohibited" in the production on / off setting section A6, "Numbers" in the reading method setting section A7, "Yes" in the silent time setting section A8, and "Yes" in the place of origin reading setting section A9.
[0045] When the operator inputs product number 1 on the screen displayed on the display panel 6, a product information management screen SC1 such as that shown in FIG. 3 is displayed. Simultaneously with the product information management screen SC1 being displayed, or after a short delay, the voice generating device 40 reads out the product number, product name, place of origin, and unit price. Specifically, the voice generating device 40 reads out "1" in a female 1 voice quality, "beef loin slices" in a female 1 voice quality, "Made in Kyoto" in a male 1 voice quality, and "1,234 yen" in a female 1 voice quality. The voice generating device 40 reads out "1," "beef loin slices," "Made in Kyoto," and "1,234 yen" at a medium speed, with no special silence between product items. Once the voice generating device 40 has finished reading out the product number, product name, place of origin, and unit price, production of the products to be weighed (weighing, packaging, and pricing by the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1) begins.
[0046] Note that the screen may have a function for executing test playback to check how the voice generation device 40 will read aloud as a result of various settings made on the voice reading setting screen SC2. Such test playback may be executed, for example, by operating a test playback button B2 provided on the voice reading setting screen SC2.
[0047] The effects of the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment will be described. In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment, when the product information management screen SC1 is displayed, multiple product items (product number, product name, place of origin, and unit price of the product to be weighed) that constitute product information are read out aloud. At this time, multiple product items are not simply read out in a monotonous succession, but the voice characteristics are changed for each specified product item. In the above embodiment, only the place of origin is read out in a male voice quality. This makes it possible to make the operator aware of the change in voice quality, thereby reducing the risk that the operator will ignore the voice output.
[0048] In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment, any one or a combination of voice quality, volume, and speed that reflects gender differences can be specified as the characteristics of the voice used by the voice generating device 40 when reading aloud. This configuration allows the operator to easily recognize changes in voice, thereby effectively attracting the operator's attention.
[0049] In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment, the voice generating device 40 can insert a pause between product items when reading out the product information, allowing the operator to confirm the content of each item.
[0050] In the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment, the product items include the product number, product name, price per unit weight (unit price), and place of origin. This allows the operator to confirm the product item details of the product number, product name, price per unit weight, and place of origin.
[0051] Although one embodiment has been described above, one aspect of the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications are possible without departing from the spirit of the invention.
[0052] In addition to the settings that can be made on the voice readout setting screen SC2 as shown in FIG. 4 , the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment may also be provided with a change readout setting unit that sets whether to pronounce "Change" before reading out the changed content when the content stored in the product master is changed, and whether to read it in one of the following voice qualities: "Female 1," "Female 2," "Male 1," or "Male 2." For example, suppose the unit price of beef loin slices, product number 1 described in the above embodiment, is changed to 1,500 yen. Specifically, the product master before the setting change had product number "1," product name "Beef Loin Slices," place of origin "Made in Kyoto," and unit price "1,234 yen." Suppose the price is changed to product number "1," product name "Beef Loin Slices," place of origin "Made in Kyoto," and unit price "1,500 yen."
[0053] In the change part reading setting section, for example, it is set to say "Change" and read it out in "Female 2." In this case, the voice generating device 40 reads out "1" in the voice quality of Female 1, "Beef loin slices" in the voice quality of Female 1, "Made in Kyoto" in the voice quality of Male 1, "Change" in the voice quality of Female 2, and "1500 yen" in the voice quality of Female 1. This allows the operator to more carefully check the parts of the product master (information content) that have been changed.
[0054] Note that, without providing an additional setting function for uttering "change," a configuration may be adopted in which the characteristics of the voice (for example, voice quality, volume, speed, etc.) when reading out a changed product item in the product master are specified. For example, when the voice quality is set to be read out in "Female 2" as described above, the voice generating device 40 will read out "1" in the voice quality of Female 1, "Beef loin slices" in the voice quality of Female 1, "Made in Kyoto" in the voice quality of Male 1, and "1,500 yen" in the voice quality of Female 2. Even in this case, it is possible to make the operator check more carefully the parts of the product master (information content) that have been changed.
[0055] In the above embodiment and the above modified example, as an example of a method for specifying which of a plurality of product items the voice generating device 40 will read out, an example of specifying whether or not to read out the product number and place of origin, as in the product information setting screen SC3, has been given and described, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, a method may be used in which whether or not to read out each of the product items (e.g., product name, unit price, place of origin) stored in association with the product number is specified, or the characteristics (voice quality, volume, speed, etc.) of the reading out may be specified.
[0056] In the above embodiment and modified example, an example of applying one aspect of the present invention to a weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 as shown in FIG. 1 has been described. However, the present invention may also be applied to a face-to-face electronic scale (electronic scale with product processing device and printer) 101 as shown in FIG. 6(A), which includes a store clerk operation unit 105A and a customer operation unit 105B as main body operation units. The electronic scale 101 shown in FIG. 6(A) includes a main body case 103, a main body operation unit 105 configured as a touch panel, a speaker (audio output device) 106, a weighing unit 107 having a weighing pan 107A, a printing unit 109 that issues a print label LC, and a control unit (audio output device) 110. The audio output device 140 is configured to include the speaker 106 and the control unit 110.
[0057] Even in an electronic scale 101 configured as above, when a product number is input, a product information management screen SC1 is displayed, displaying multiple product items, as shown in Fig. 4. Even in such an electronic scale 101, the product items displayed on the product information management screen SC1 are read out by the audio output device 140. At this time, the audio output device 140 does not simply read out multiple product items in a monotonous succession, but reads out the specified product item while changing the voice characteristics. This makes it possible to make the operator aware of the change in voice quality, thereby reducing the risk that the operator will ignore the audio being output.
[0058] Another aspect of the present invention may be applied to a labeler (product processing device / printer) 201 equipped with a main body operation unit 205 as shown in FIG. 6(B). The labeler 201 shown in FIG. 6(B) includes a main body case 203, a main body operation unit 205 configured as a touch panel, fixed keys 205A, a speaker 206, a weighing unit 207 having a weighing pan 207A connected as an option, a printing unit 209, and a control unit 210. The audio output device 240 includes the speaker 206 and the control unit 210. The labeler 201 described above may be configured as a simple label issuing device without the weighing pan 207A and the weighing unit 207. In such a labeler 201, if the audio output device 240 is configured to read out multiple product items, the effects of the weighing, packaging, and pricing device 1 of the above embodiment and the electronic scale 101 of the above modification can be achieved.
