Abstract

To provide an optical communication device for transmitting / receiving optical signals having a plurality of wave lengths, where optical signal output is securely stopped with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: First optical communication means receives a second supervisory signal and a third optical signal and outputs a first supervisory signal and a first optical signal. Second optical communication means receives a fourth optical signal and outputs a second optical signal. The first optical communication means includes: first optical reception means for outputting a first notification when input of the third optical signal stops; first supervisory signal transmission / reception means for outputting the first supervisory signal and outputting a third notification on the basis of the second supervisory signal; and first optical transmission means for outputting the first optical signal and stopping output of the first optical signal when receiving the first and third notifications. The second optical communication means includes: second optical reception means for outputting a second notification when input of the fourth optical signal stops; and second optical transmission means for outputting a second optical signal and stops output of the second optical signal when receiving the second notification.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
