Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to an electrode substrate cutting device, and more particularly to an electrode substrate cutting device capable of removing and recovering defective electrodes containing defective portions when cutting an electrode substrate into a plurality of unit electrodes.

[0002] This application claims the benefit of priority based on Korean Patent Application No. 10-2022-0109800 filed on August 31, 2022, and all contents disclosed in the documents of said Korean patent application are incorporated herein by reference. [Background technology]

[0003] FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram of a conventional electrode base material cutting device that cuts an electrode base material 1 into unit electrodes 10, and FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram showing a process of inspecting a unit cell 90. As shown in FIG.

[0004] The battery cell includes an electrode assembly and a case that protects the electrode assembly.

[0005] 1 and 2, the electrode assembly includes a plurality of unit cells 90, and each unit cell 90 includes an anode 10a, a separator 15, and a cathode 10b, and has a stacked structure in which the separator 15 is located between the anode 10a and the cathode 10b. The unit cell 90 may include a mono-cell or a half-cell.

[0006] The positive electrode 10b and the negative electrode 10a used in the unit cell 90 are manufactured by cutting an electrode substrate 1 coated with a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material, respectively, into a plurality of unit electrodes 10.

[0007] In addition, for convenience of explanation, the positive electrode 10b and the negative electrode 10a constituting a unit cell will be referred to as unit electrodes 10 hereinafter.

[0008] Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional electrode substrate cutting device includes a transport roll 20, a defect detection sensor 30, a cutting section 40, an electrode discharge section 50, and an electrode storage section 60.

[0009] The electrode substrate 1 travels along a plurality of transport rolls 20 toward the cutting section 40. The defect detection sensor 30 is disposed on a path MD along which the electrode substrate 1 travels toward the cutting section 40. The defect detection sensor 30 detects defective portions of the electrode substrate 1 while it is traveling.

[0010] In the cutting unit 40, the electrode substrate 1 is cut into a plurality of unit electrodes 10 that conform to the specifications of the battery cell. The cutting unit 40 includes a pair of cutting members 41, 42, which cut the electrode substrate 1 while moving toward each other, and after completing cutting of the electrode substrate 1, are moved away from each other.

[0011] The cutting unit 40 is attached to the front end of the electrode ejecting unit 50. The electrode ejecting unit 50 is provided to eject the unit electrodes 10 cut by the cutting unit 40 into the electrode receiving unit 60.

[0012] In this way, the cutting portion 40 is structured to be attached to the electrode discharge portion 50, and even if the defect detection sensor 30 detects a defect present in the electrode substrate 1, it is difficult to separately remove only the defective portion 9 of the electrode substrate 1 during the cutting process of the electrode substrate 1.

[0013] In the above-described configuration, the electrode ejecting section 50 ejects both defective electrodes having defective portions 9 and non-defective electrodes having no defective portions 9 out of the unit electrodes 10 into the electrode storing section 60 .

[0014] As a result, the defective electrodes are mixed with non-defective electrodes and are supplied to the assembly process of the unit cells 90. When the assembly of the unit cells 90 is completed, the vision inspection unit 70 inspects the unit cells 90 for defects or non-defects.

[0015] In addition, when the unit cell 90 is judged as normal by the vision inspection unit 70, the normal unit cell 90a is transferred to the normal unit 81. In contrast, when the unit cell 90 is judged as defective by the vision inspection unit 70, the defective unit cell 90b is transferred to the defective unit 82.

[0016] At this time, if a defective portion 9 is present in the negative electrode 10a and / or the positive electrode 10b that constitutes the unit cell 90b, the vision inspection unit 70 determines that the unit cell is defective.

[0017] For example, even when a defective portion 9 exists only in the negative electrode 10a, the corresponding unit cell 90b is determined to be defective, and the positive electrode 10b and the separator 15, which are non-defective, are unnecessarily wasted.

[0018] Therefore, there is a need for a technology to check in advance whether or not a unit electrode (positive electrode or negative electrode) supplied to the unit cell stacking process is defective, and to remove and recover the defective electrode. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0019] In order to solve the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide an electrode substrate cutting device capable of removing defective electrodes including defective portions among the unit electrodes when cutting an electrode substrate into unit electrodes.

[0020] Another object of the present invention is to provide an electrode substrate cutting device capable of collecting only normal electrodes from among unit electrodes and supplying them to a subsequent process.

[0021] Another object of the present invention is to provide an electrode substrate cutting device capable of removing and recovering only defective electrodes. [Means for solving the problem]

[0022] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, an electrode substrate cutting device according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a traveling section that guides the traveling of the electrode substrate along a traveling path, a defect detection section that is disposed on the traveling path and configured to detect defective parts of the electrode substrate, a cutting section that is configured to cut the electrode substrate into a plurality of unit electrodes and is movably disposed along the traveling path and has different good-product cutting positions for cutting normal electrodes among the plurality of unit electrodes and defective cutting positions for cutting defective electrodes including defective parts, an electrode discharge section that is configured to discharge to the outside the normal electrodes cut at the good-product cutting positions, and a defective collection section that stores the defective electrodes cut at the defective cutting positions. Effect of the Invention

[0023] As seen above, the electrode base material cutting device according to one embodiment of the present invention has the following effects.

[0024] In a process of cutting the electrode substrate into a plurality of unit electrodes, a defective electrode including a defective portion among the unit electrodes can be removed based on the defect detection information of the defect detection unit.

[0025] In addition, by providing the cutting section movably along the running path of the electrode base material, a good cutting position for cutting normal electrodes among the multiple unit electrodes and a defective cutting position for cutting defective electrodes including defective parts can be set to be different.

[0026] In such a configuration, normal electrodes cut at the non-defective cutting position can be discharged to the electrode discharge section, and defective electrodes cut at the defective cutting position can be discharged to the defective collection section.

[0027] As a result, only non-defective, normal electrodes among the plurality of unit electrodes can be collected and supplied to a subsequent process, and only defective electrodes can be collected and recycled separately.

[0028] Furthermore, by removing defective electrodes in advance before the electrodes are supplied to the unit cell manufacturing process, it is possible to prevent the defective electrodes from being determined as defective after the electrodes are stacked in the form of unit cells. [0030] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an electrode base material cutting device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0031] In addition, regardless of the drawing symbols, the same or similar reference numbers will be used for the same or corresponding components, and duplicate descriptions will be omitted. For convenience of explanation, the size and shape of each component shown may be exaggerated or reduced.

[0032] FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing an electrode substrate cutting device according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram for explaining normal and defective electrodes among a plurality of unit electrodes, and FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing a schematic view of a defective collection section at a defective cutting position.

[0033] FIG. 3 also shows a state in which the cutting portion 130 is positioned at the non-defective product cutting position P1.

[0034] An electrode base material cutting apparatus 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention is an apparatus for cutting an electrode base material 1 traveling along a traveling direction MD1 into a plurality of unit electrodes A1, A2.

[0035] Each of the unit electrodes A1 and A2 may be cut to have a predetermined length L1, L2 along the traveling direction MD1. For example, each of the unit electrodes A1 and A2 may be cut to have the same length L1, L2. Also, a normal electrode of the unit electrode A1 and a defective electrode including the defective portion 9 of the unit electrode A2 may be cut to have the same length.

[0036] The electrode substrate cutting device 100 is provided to detect defective portions 9 of the traveling electrode substrate 1, and to separate and collect normal electrodes 10 and defective electrodes 13 including the defective portions 9 from among the plurality of unit electrodes A1, A2. The normal electrodes 10 may be electrodes that do not include the defective portions 9.

[0037] In this specification, the electrode substrate 1 may be a positive electrode substrate or a negative electrode substrate. Each of the unit electrodes A1 and A2 may include a coating portion 11 and a non-coating portion 12, and the unit electrodes A1 and A2 may be determined as a negative electrode or a positive electrode depending on the material of the coating portion 11.

[0038] An electrode substrate cutting device 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a running unit 110 that guides the electrode substrate along a running path, and a defect detection unit 120 that is disposed on the running path and is configured to detect a defective portion 9 of the electrode substrate 1 during running.

[0039] The running part 110 includes a plurality of roll members 111. The plurality of roll members are disposed at intervals along a running path of the electrode base material 1, and the running part 110 may be provided in a roll-to-roll manner.

[0040] Also, the defect detector 120 may be configured to detect the defective portion 9 on the electrode substrate 1 in a scanning manner or a vision inspection manner. For example, the defect detector 120 may include one or more vision cameras.

[0041] 6 to 8 are schematic views for explaining one operation state of the electrode base material cutting device at the defective cutting position.

[0042] The electrode base material cutting device 100 is provided to cut the electrode base material 1 into a plurality of unit electrodes A1, A2, and includes a cutting section 130 provided movable along the travel path.

[0043] The cutting unit 130 is provided such that a non-defective cutting position P1 for cutting normal electrodes 10 among the plurality of unit electrodes A1, A2 and a defective cutting position P2 for cutting defective electrodes including defective parts are different on a travel path. The cutting unit 130 is provided so as to be capable of reciprocating between the non-defective cutting position P1 and the defective cutting position P2.

[0044] At this time, when the cut portion 130 is located at the non-defective cutting position P1, the electrode substrate 1 is cut as a normal electrode 10, and when the cut portion 130 is located at the defective cutting position P2, the electrode substrate 1 is cut as a defective electrode 13.

[0045] The electrode substrate cutting device 100 also includes an electrode discharge section 180 arranged to discharge to the outside the normal electrodes 10 cut at the non-defective cutting position P1, and a defective collection section 170 in which the defective electrodes 13 cut at the defective cutting position P2 are stored.

[0046] The cutting section 130 includes a pair of cutting members 131, 132 arranged to cut the electrode base material 1. The pair of cutting members 131, 132 can be arranged to be movable between a non-defective product cutting position P1 and a defective product cutting position P2.

[0047] The cutting section 130 has an entrance end 130a through which the electrode base material 1 enters, and a discharge end 130b through which the unit electrodes cut by the pair of cutting members 131, 132 are discharged.

[0048] The electrode ejection part 180 is located at the ejection end 130b of the cutting part 130 and is provided to eject to the outside the normal electrode 10 cut at the non-defective cutting position P1.

[0049] In addition, the electrode discharge part 180 has an entrance end 180a through which the normal electrode 10 enters, and an exit end 180b through which the entered normal electrode 10 is discharged to the outside. At this time, the electrode discharge part 180 is disposed such that the entrance end 180a faces the exit end 130b of the cutting part 130. In addition, since the cutting part 130 is provided movably, the distance between the entrance end 180a of the electrode discharge part 180 and the exit end 130b of the cutting part 130 can be adjusted.

[0050] The cutting unit 130 may be configured to move in a direction away from the electrode ejection unit 180 when the cutting unit 130 moves from the non-defective cutting position P1 to the defective cutting position P2.

[0051] Referring to Figure 3, at the good cutting position P1, the distance between the entry end 180a of the electrode discharge portion 180 and the discharge end 130b of the cutting portion 130 may be smallest, and referring to Figure 6, at the defective cutting position P2, the distance between the entry end 180a of the electrode discharge portion 180 and the discharge end 130b of the cutting portion 130 may be largest.

[0052] In this structure, referring to FIG. 3, the cutting unit 130 and the electrode discharge unit 180 are connected at the non-defective cutting position P1 so that the normal electrode 10 cut at the non-defective cutting position P1 can be transferred to the electrode discharge unit 180.

[0053] In addition, the electrode discharge unit 180 may include a pair of discharge rolls 181, 182 for guiding the running of the normal electrode 10, and an electrode storage unit 185 for storing the normal electrode 10 that has passed through the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182.

[0054] Also, referring to Figures 6 to 8, the connection between the cutting portion 130 and the electrode discharge portion 180 is decoupled at the defect cutting position P2 so that the defective electrode 13 cut at the defect cutting position P2 is not transmitted to the electrode discharge portion 180.

[0055] The electrode base material cutting device 100 also includes a defective collection section 170 for storing the defective electrodes 13 cut at the defective cutting position P2.

[0056] In this structure, the normal electrodes 10 cut at the cutting unit 130 are transmitted to the electrode discharge unit 180 and then stored in the electrode storage unit 185, and the defective electrodes 13 cut at the cutting unit 130 are stored in the defective collection unit 170, thereby allowing the normal electrodes 10 and the defective electrodes 13 to be collected separately.

[0057] 5, when the cutting unit 130 moves to the defective cutting position P2, the defective collecting unit 170 may be provided to be exposed to the space between the cutting unit 130 and the electrode discharging unit 180 at the defective cutting position P2. At this time, the defective electrodes 13 stored in the defective collecting unit 170 may be collected to the outside of the cutting device 100.

[0058] In addition, the cutting unit 130 may include a pair of cutting members 131 and 132 , and a rear roll unit 160 disposed between the pair of cutting members 131 and 132 and the electrode discharge unit 180 .

[0059] At this time, when the cutting unit 130 is located at the non-defective cutting position P1, the rear roll unit 160 is arranged to push the normal electrode 10 from the non-defective cutting position P1 to the electrode discharge unit 180. That is, the normal electrode is transferred from the cutting unit 130 to the electrode discharge unit 180 at the non-defective cutting position P1, and the cutting unit 130 and the electrode discharge unit 180 maintain a connected state.

[0060] In addition, when the cutting unit 130 is positioned at the defect cutting position P2, the rear roll unit 160 may be configured to push the defective electrodes from the defect cutting position P2 to the defect collection unit 170. That is, at the defect cutting position P2, the defective electrodes 13 are not transferred from the cutting unit 130 to the electrode discharge unit 180, and the cutting unit 130 and the electrode discharge unit 180 maintain a disconnected state.

[0061] The defective collecting unit 170 may be provided at a position where the defective electrodes 13 that have passed through the rear roll unit 160 are dropped and stored. The defective collecting unit 170 may be provided in a box shape with an open top.

[0062] In addition, the cutting unit 130 may include a position adjustment unit 140 that adjusts the positions of the pair of cutting members 131 and 132 along a travel path.

[0063] The position adjusting unit 140 can adjust the positions of the pair of cutting members 131, 132 so that the pair of cutting members 131, 132 are positioned at a non-defective cutting position P1 or a defective cutting position P2.

[0064] The position adjustment unit 140 may include a rail 141, and a body unit 143 movably provided on the rail 141 and having the pair of cutting members 131 and 132 attached thereto.

[0065] Further, the main body 143 is provided with the rear roll unit 160, and the pair of cutting members 131, 132 and the rear roll unit 160 can be provided to move integrally along the rail 141. That is, when the cutting unit 130 moves via the position adjustment unit 140, the pair of cutting members 131, 132 and the rear roll unit 160, which are respectively attached to the main body 143, can be moved integrally with the main body 143.

[0066] Additionally, the rail 141 may be connected to the electrode discharge portion 180, and the rail 141 may be disposed below the travel path.

[0067] In addition, the body part 143 is movably mounted on the rail 141, and the body part 143 may be connected to a body driving part 145. The body driving part 145 provides a driving force to the body part 143 so that the body part 143 moves along the rail 141. The body driving part 145 may include, for example, a motor capable of rotating forward and backward.

[0068] In addition, the electrode substrate cutting device 100 may include a control unit 190 that adjusts the position of the cutting unit 130 on the travel path based on the detection information of the defect detection unit 120.

[0069] 6 to 8, the control unit 190 may be configured to, when a defective portion 9 is detected from the electrode substrate 1, move the cutting unit 130 to a defective cutting position P2 and then cut the defective electrode 13 from the electrode substrate 1.

[0070] Referring to FIG. 3, the control unit 190 may be configured to move the cutting unit 130 to a non-defective cutting position P1 when a defective electrode 13 is removed from the electrode substrate 1, and then cut a normal electrode 10 from the electrode substrate 1.

[0071] The defect detector 120 may be disposed apart from an entrance end 130a of the cutting unit 130. The defect detector 120 transmits a detection signal to the controller 190 when the defect detector 120 detects the defective portion 9.

[0072] The control unit 190 can calculate the time when the region including the defective portion 9 from the electrode substrate 1 enters the cutting unit 130 based on the detection position Ps of the defect detection unit 120 and the traveling speed of the electrode substrate 1 .

[0073] The control unit 190 can obtain information on the unit electrode A2 including the defective portion 9 based on the detection information of the defect detection unit 120.

[0074] Referring to FIG. 4, the defective electrode 13 may be a unit electrode including a defective portion 9 among the unit electrodes A2, and may be the region between a virtual first cutting line C1 along which the unit electrode A2 is to be cut and a virtual second cutting line C2 spaced apart from the virtual first cutting line C1 so as to include the defective portion 9.

[0075] The information on the unit electrode A2 including the defective portion 9 may include position information on the first virtual cutting line C1 and position information on the second virtual cutting line C2. In this case, the distance between the first cutting line C1 and the second cutting line C2 may correspond to the length L2 of the unit electrode A2.

[0076] When a defective portion 9 is detected while the electrode substrate 1 is traveling, the electrode substrate cutting device 100 may, during a cutting process of cutting the electrode substrate 1 into a plurality of unit electrodes A1, A2, remove a defective electrode 13 including the defective portion 9 from the unit electrode A2, and then cut off a normal electrode 10 from the unit electrode A1.

[0077] 3 to 6, the cutting unit 130 is provided so as to be capable of reciprocating movement so as to be connected to or separated from (disconnected from) the electrode ejecting unit 180. As shown in FIG.

[0078] When the cutting unit 130 moves to the non-defective product cutting position P1, it is connected to the electrode discharge unit 180, and a pair of cutting members 131, 132 cut the electrode base material 1 into normal electrodes 10 at the non-defective product cutting position P1.

[0079] Furthermore, when a defective portion 9 is detected, the cutting unit 130 moves to the defect cutting position P2, where the pair of cutting members 131, 132 cut the electrode substrate 1 as a defective electrode 13.

[0080] In addition, the control unit 190 can control the operation of the main body driving unit 145 based on the detection information of the defect detection unit 120.

[0081] 3 to 6, for example, the control unit 190 can adjust the moving direction and moving distance of the cutting unit 130 via the position adjustment unit 140 with the position of the entry end 180a of the electrode ejection unit 180 set as a reference position P0.

[0082] 6, the position adjustment unit 140 can move the main body 143 backward (in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the electrode base material) so as to separate the main body 143 from the reference position P0 by a first distance D1 when cutting the defective electrode 13. The first distance D1 is the distance between the non-defective cutting position P1 and the defective cutting position P2.

[0083] Furthermore, after completing the cutting of the defective electrode 13, the position adjustment unit 140 can move the main body unit 143 forward (in the running direction of the electrode base material) toward the electrode ejection unit 180 at a position separated from the electrode ejection unit 180 by the first distance D1.

[0084] Furthermore, a pair of cutting members 131 and 132 can be installed on the main body 143 so as to be movable in a direction perpendicular to the electrode base material 1 .

[0085] In addition, a front roll unit 150 and a rear roll unit 160 may be installed in the main body unit 143. In this case, the front roll unit 150 and the rear roll unit 160 are disposed on both sides of the pair of cutting members 131 and 132. The front roll unit 150 serves to guide the travel of the electrode base material 1 so that the electrode base material 1 enters between the pair of cutting members 131 and 132.

[0086] The front-stage roll unit 150 may include a pair of roll members provided to push out the electrode base material 1 in the traveling direction MD1 or the reverse traveling direction MD2, and the pair of roll members are disposed above and below the electrode base material 1. In this specification, the roll members constituting the front-stage roll unit 150 are referred to as front-stage rolls 151 and 152.

[0087] The rear roll unit 160 may include a pair of roll members provided to push out the normal electrodes 10 or the defective electrodes 13 in the running direction MD1 or the reverse running direction MD2 of the electrode substrate 1, and the pair of roll members are disposed above and below the electrode substrate 1. In this specification, the roll members constituting the rear roll unit 160 are referred to as rear rolls 161 and 162.

[0088] As described above, the rear roll unit 160 is located between the pair of cutting members 131, 132 and the electrode discharge unit 180. In addition, the rear roll unit 160 may be disposed between the pair of cutting members 131, 132 and the defective collection unit 170.

[0089] 3, a defective collecting unit 170 may be disposed at the rear end (discharge end) of the rear roll unit 160. The defective collecting unit 170 may be located below the pair of rear rolls 161, 162 on the discharge end side.

[0090] The pair of discharge rolls 181, 182 of the electrode discharge part 180 are arranged above and below the passing normal electrode 10 and are provided to push out the normal electrode 10 in the running direction MD1 or the reverse running direction MD2 of the electrode substrate 1. In addition, the normal electrode 10 pushed out in the running direction MD1 by the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182 is stored in the electrode storage part 185.

[0091] The control unit 190 controls the rotation direction and rotation speed of the running unit 110 that guides the running of the electrode base material 1, the pair of front rolls 151, 152, the pair of rear rolls 161, 162, and the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182.

[0092] The control unit 190 may control the operation of the traveling unit 110 such that the front end 1a of the electrode base material 1 is separated from the pair of cutting members 131, 132 by the planned cutting lengths L1, L2 based on the positions of the pair of cutting members 131, 132. In this case, the planned cutting length may be the first length L1 of the normal electrode 10 or the second length L2 of the defective electrode 13, and the first length L1 and the second length L2 may be set to be the same.

[0093] Figure 6 shows the operation of the cutting unit moving from the good product cutting position to the defective product cutting position, Figure 7 shows the operation of the cutting unit cutting the electrode substrate at the defective product cutting position, and Figure 8 shows the operation of the rear roll unit discharging the defective electrodes to the defective product collection section.

[0094] When cutting the defective electrode 13, the control unit 190 can control the operations of the traveling unit 110, the cutting unit 130, and the electrode discharging unit 180 as follows.

[0095] The control unit 190 can reduce the rotation speed of the traveling unit 110 based on the detection information of the defect detection unit 120. The control unit 190 can obtain information on the defective electrode 13 including the defective portion 9 based on the detection information of the defect detection unit 120.

[0096] At this time, when the cutting unit 130 is located at the non-defective cutting position P1, the control unit 190 can cut the first imaginary cutting line C1 for cutting the defective electrodes 13. Thereafter, the control unit 190 can move the main body 143 of the position adjustment unit 140 so that the pair of cutting members 131, 132 are located at the defective cutting position P2.

[0097] Referring to FIG. 6, the position adjustment unit 140 can move the main body unit 143 in a direction away from the electrode ejection unit 180.

[0098] When the main body 143 moves in the reverse traveling direction MD2, the control unit 190 can control the operation of the running unit 110 to move the electrode substrate 1 in the reverse traveling direction MD2 and position the virtual second cutting line C2 of the electrode substrate 1 at the defective cutting position P2.

[0099] Furthermore, the control unit 190 stops the pair of front rolls 151, 152 and the pair of rear rolls 161, 162 for a preset cutting time. At this time, the control unit 190 controls the pair of cutting members 131, 132 to cut the electrode base material 1 for the preset cutting time.

[0100] 7, the pair of cutting members 131, 132 are moved toward each other in the vertical direction of the substrate at the defect cutting position P2 to cut the defective electrode 13 from the electrode substrate 1.

[0101] 8, when the defective electrode 13 is cut from the electrode substrate 1, the pair of cutting members 131, 132 are returned to their original positions. At the same time, the pair of rear rolls 161, 162 are rotated so as to push the defective electrode 13 in the traveling direction MD1. At this time, the pushing force of the pair of rear rolls 161, 162 causes the defective electrodes 13 to be discharged one by one from the pair of rear rolls 161, 162 to a defect collection section 170.

[0102] Thereafter, the electrode substrate cutting device 100 is provided to perform again the process of removing the defective electrodes 13 from the electrode substrate 1 and then cutting off the normal electrodes 10.

[0103] When cutting the normal electrode 10, the control unit 190 moves a pair of cutting members 131, 132 to a non-defective cutting position P1 and controls the operation of the traveling unit 110 and the cutting unit 130 so that the normal electrode 10 can be cut off by a first length L1 from the electrode base material 1.

[0104] The pair of cutting members 131, 132 can be moved by a position adjustment unit 140 from a defective cutting position P2 to a non-defective cutting position P1.

[0105] The running unit 110 can run the electrode substrate 1 so that the front end 1a of the electrode substrate 1 enters the electrode discharge unit 180 from the non-defective product cutting position P1. Furthermore, when cutting a normal electrode 10, the control unit 190 stops the running unit 110 and stops the operation of the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182, the pair of front rolls 151, 152, and the pair of rear rolls 161, 162.

[0106] Furthermore, the pair of cutting members 131, 132 move in directions approaching each other at the non-defective product cutting position P1. The pair of cutting members 131, 132 cut the normal region of the electrode base material 1 into normal electrodes 10.

[0107] After the electrode substrate 1 is cut into normal electrodes 10, the pair of rear stage rolls 161, 162 and the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182 are rotated so as to push out the normal electrode 10 in the traveling direction MD1. At this time, the normal electrode 10 is discharged from the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182 into an electrode storage section 185 by the pushing force of the pair of discharge rolls 181, 182.

[0108] The normal electrode 10 discharged into the electrode receiving portion 185 may be fabricated into a unit cell later.

[0109] The above-described preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, and those skilled in the art having ordinary knowledge of the present invention may make various modifications, changes, and additions within the spirit and scope of the present invention, and such modifications, changes, and additions should be considered to fall within the scope of the following claims.
