[0002] It is important to maintain sterility when donning a surgical gown for a surgical procedure. Current methods utilize the cuffs of the gown to handle the glove packaging and maintain sterility while donning the gloves. The use of the cuffs limits the user's mobility and dexterity while donning the gloves. Users would benefit from a surgical gown that could maintain sterility while improving the user's mobility and dexterity while donning the gloves. Disclosed herein are surgical gowns, methods of donning the surgical gowns, and methods of manufacturing the surgical gowns that address the above concerns. Summary of the Invention
[0003] Disclosed herein is a disposable surgical gown that includes a gown body having a pair of opposing sleeves, each sleeve having a cuff at a distal end and including two or more finger sleeves proximal to the cuff at a first distance from the cuff, the two or more finger sleeves extending from a lateral side of each sleeve.
[0004] In some embodiments, the disposable surgical gown is symmetrical about a vertical axis. In some embodiments, in the two or more finger sleeves, a first finger sleeve is proximal to a second finger sleeve, the first finger sleeve has a first finger sleeve length and the second finger sleeve has a second finger sleeve length that is greater than the first finger sleeve length, and in some embodiments, the second finger sleeve length is 1.1 to 2.5 times greater than the first finger sleeve length.

A disposable surgical gown comprising: A disposable surgical gown comprising a gown body having a pair of opposing sleeves, each sleeve having a cuff at a distal end and including two or more finger sleeves proximal to the cuff at a first distance from the cuff, the two or more finger sleeves extending from an exterior of each sleeve.
2. 10. The disposable surgical gown of claim 1, wherein the disposable surgical gown is symmetrical about a vertical axis.
3. 3. The disposable surgical gown of claim 1, wherein the two or more finger-sleeves include a first finger-sleeve proximal to a second finger-sleeve, the first finger-sleeve having a first finger-sleeve length and the second finger-sleeve having a second finger-sleeve length greater than the first finger-sleeve length.
4. 4. The disposable surgical gown of claim 3, wherein the second finger-sleeve length is 1.1 to 2.5 times greater than the first finger-sleeve length.
5. 3. The disposable surgical gown of claim 1, wherein each of the two or more finger-sleeves includes a distal end having a gripping surface coupled thereto.
6. 6. The disposable surgical gown of claim 5, wherein the gripping surface comprises a textured rubber gripping surface.
7. 4. The disposable surgical gown of claim 3, wherein the first finger-sleeve is angled at a first angle between 90 and 145 degrees relative to an outer side of each sleeve and the second finger-sleeve is angled at a second angle between 90 and 145 degrees relative to an outer side of each sleeve, the second angle being greater than the first angle.
8. 1. A method for donning a disposable surgical gown, comprising: inserting a first arm having a first finger and a second finger into a first sleeve of a surgical gown, the first arm extending from an exterior of the first sleeve and adjacent to two or more finger sleeves at a first distance from a cuff of the first sleeve; inserting the second arm into a second sleeve of the surgical gown until the second arm is adjacent two or more finger sleeves extending from an exterior of the second sleeve; inserting the first finger into a first finger-sleeve and the second finger into a second finger-sleeve, the first finger-sleeve being proximal to the second finger-sleeve; grasping a first surgical glove with the first finger and the second finger and sliding the first surgical glove over the cuff of the second sleeve; and sliding a second surgical glove over the cuff of the first sleeve.
9. 9. The method of claim 8, wherein gripping the first surgical glove with the first finger and the second finger and sliding the first surgical glove over the cuff of the second sleeve comprises slipping a second hand on the second arm into the first surgical glove.
10. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein gripping the first surgical glove with the first finger and the second finger comprises gripping the first surgical glove at a distal end of each of the first finger-sleeve and the second finger-sleeve, the distal end of each of the first finger-sleeve and the second finger-sleeve including a gripping surface thereon.
11. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein sliding the second surgical glove over the cuff of the first sleeve comprises using a second gloved hand to slide the second surgical glove over the cuff of the first sleeve.
12. 1. A method of manufacturing a disposable surgical gown, comprising: creating two opposing sleeves, each sleeve including two or more finger-sleeves extending from an exterior of each sleeve, the two or more finger-sleeves being a first distance from a cuff of each sleeve; joining the two opposing sleeves to a gown body; packaging the disposable surgical gown.
13. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein creating the two opposing sleeves comprises tracing a sleeve pattern outline onto a first material and cutting or stamping the sleeve pattern outline from the first material.
14. 14. The method of claim 13, wherein in creating the two opposing sleeves, each sleeve includes two or more finger-sleeves, the two or more finger-sleeves including a first finger-sleeve having a first finger-sleeve length and a second finger-sleeve having a second finger-sleeve length greater than the first finger-sleeve length, the first finger-sleeve being proximal to the second finger-sleeve.
15. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein in creating the two opposing sleeves, each sleeve includes two or more finger-sleeves, and the second finger-sleeve length is 1.1 to 2.5 times greater than the first finger-sleeve length.
16. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein in creating the two opposing sleeves, each sleeve includes two or more finger-sleeves, the first finger-sleeve angled at a first angle from the outer side and the second finger-sleeve angled at a second angle from the outer side, the second angle being greater than the first angle.
17. 17. The method of claim 16, wherein creating the two opposing sleeves includes each of the first angle and the second angle being between 90 and 145 degrees relative to the outside.
18. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein creating the two opposing sleeves includes coupling a gripping surface to a distal end of each of the two or more finger-sleeves.
19. 20. The method of claim 18, wherein coupling the gripping surface to a distal end of each of the two or more finger-sleeves comprises coupling the gripping surface to a distal end of each of the two or more finger-sleeves, the gripping surface comprising a textured rubber gripping surface.
20. 20. The method of any one of claims 12-19, wherein joining the two opposing sleeves to the gown body comprises gluing or sewing a proximal end of each of the opposing sleeves to a proximal end of the gown body.
21. 21. The method of claim 20, wherein joining the two opposing sleeves to the gown body comprises joining the two opposing sleeves to the gown body such that the disposable surgical gown is symmetrical across a vertical axis.
22. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein packaging the disposable surgical gown comprises folding the disposable surgical gown and placing the disposable surgical gown in a disposable package.
23. 23. The method of claim 22, wherein packaging the disposable surgical gown comprises sterilizing the disposable surgical gown within the disposable packaging.
