[0002] Protective garments can be provided with trousers and a connected torso portion for protection of the body of the wearer from water, weather, and other elements. The protective garments may be worn over undergarments and / or with additional outer protective clothing, such as a jacket or dry suit. For example, such protective garments can be worn during skiing, snowboarding, sailing, wading, fishing, working, diving, or other activity to help keep the legs and torso of the wearer dry and / or protected.
[0003] Conventional protective garments provide difficulties to the wearer during entry into the garment and in manipulating the trouser portion in order for the wearer to relieve oneself, such as during a water closet break. Adjacent portions of the unitary body along the access opening separate from one another when the wearer squats for water closet relief without the wearer having to remove or manipulate any other portion of unitary body of the anti-exposure garment.

[0024] FIGS. 1-16 show embodiments of an anti-exposure garment 10 to protect a body of a wearer 12 from water, weather, dirt, and other elements and debris. The anti-exposure garment 10 can, for example, be configured to cover all or a part of the body of the wearer 12. The wearer 12 may don undergarments 14 such as a dry suit, underwear, etc. before donning the anti-exposure garment 10, but undergarments are not required. The wearer 12 may also don overgarments after donning anti-exposure garment 10, such as a jacket (not shown), but use without overgarments is also contemplated. Claims
1. An anti-exposure garment for protecting a wearer, the anti-exposure garment comprising:a unitary body configured to protect at least a part of the legs and torso of the wearer, the unitary body including an access opening that is configured to extend obliquely to a medial plane of a body of the wearer when donned by the wearer across a posterior side of the unitary body from a first lateral side to an opposite second lateral side of the unitary body, wherein the access opening is configured to open by separating adjacent first and second portions of the unitary body along the access opening in response to the wearer squatting for relief to expose the gluteal region and / or urethral opening of the wearer without having to remove or manipulate any other portion of the unitary body.
2. The anti-exposure garment of claim 1, further comprising a fastener that is configured to releasably secure the first and second portions of the unitary body to one another to close the access opening.
3. The anti-exposure garment of claim 2, wherein the fastener includes a zipper having teeth that extend along the first and second portions of the unitary body, the zipper including at least one slider movable along the teeth to open and close the access opening.

The anti-exposure garment of claim 1, wherein the access opening includes opposite terminal ends at the first lateral side and at the second lateral side of the unitary body and the first and second portions of the unitary body are separated by hinging at the opposite terminal ends via a clam shell effect to expose the gluteal region and / or urethral opening of the wearer.
7. The anti-exposure garment of claim 6, wherein the termination of the access opening at the first lateral side is located higher relative to a transverse plane of a body of the wearer than the termination of the access opening at the second lateral side.
8. The anti-exposure garment of claim 1, wherein the unitary body includes a flap along the access opening, the flap being releasably fastened to a torso portion and under an arm hole of the unitary body at the first lateral side of the unitary body.
9. The anti-exposure garment of claim 8, further comprising a fastener for releasably fastening the flap to the first lateral side of the unitary body.
10. The anti-exposure garment of claim 9, wherein the access opening is configured to open by separating adjacent first and second portions of the unitary body along the access opening in response to the wearer squatting for relief with the flap fastened to the first lateral side of the unitary body.
11. An anti-exposure garment for protecting a wearer, the anti-exposure garment comprising:a unitary body including a torso portion and a lower connected to the torso portion, the unitary body including an access opening that extends across a posterior side of the unitary body from a first lateral side of the unitary body to an opposite second lateral side of the unitary body, wherein at the first lateral side the access opening is located higher relative to a transverse plane of a body of the wearer than at the second lateral side so that in response to the wearer squatting for relief the access opening widens without having to remove or manipulate any other portion of unitary body to expose the gluteal region and / or urethral opening of the wearer by separating adjacent first and second portions of the unitary body that extend along the opening.
12. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the access opening terminates under an arm hole of the torso portion at the first lateral side and on a hip portion of the unitary body at the second lateral side of the unitary body.
13. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the access opening does not extend to an anterior side of the unitary body.
14. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, further comprising a fastener to releasably secure the first and second portions to one another across the access opening.
15. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the access opening crosses a median plane of a body of the wearer only one time.
16. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the first lateral side is located on the torso portion of the unitary body.
17. The anti-exposure garment of claim 16, wherein the second lateral side is located on the lower portion of the unitary body.
18. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the access opening is located along the posterior side above a seat of the lower portion of the unitary body.
19. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the first portion of the unitary body includes a flap along the access opening releasably fastened to the torso portion under an arm hole at the first lateral side of the unitary body, wherein the access opening widens to expose the gluteal region and / or urethral opening of the wearer while the flap is fastened to the first lateral side of the unitary body.
20. The anti-exposure garment of claim 11, wherein the torso portion includes an anterior side and a posterior side connected to the anterior side around the shoulders of the wearer, and the connection around the shoulders remains in position in response to the wearer squatting for relief widen the access opening.
