[0031] Next, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0032] [Overall system configuration] Figure 1 is a perspective view showing an example of the overall external configuration of Training System 1, which is included in the training system. As shown in Figure 1, Training System 1 consists of a sanding board 50, a detection device 20, and an external terminal device 41 (tablet). The sanding board 50 consists of a board 56 and a movable member 57 (sanding block).
[0033] The existing sanding training device in the training system 1 is called a sanding board, a training board used for rehabilitation of upper limb paralysis and shoulder joints, and is an occupational therapy item aimed at improving upper limb function. In Fig. 1, the sanding board 50 is placed on a desk 55 owned by the operator in a rehabilitation room in a hospital or orthopedic surgery.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 1, sanding board 50 has a moving member 57 that can move in any direction on board 56, the inclination angle of which can be adjusted. Operating units 51a and 51b are installed on the upper surface of moving member 57. Operating units 51a and 51b are formed integrally with moving member 57. A patient can train their upper limbs and shoulder joints by holding operating units (grips) 51a and 51b formed integrally on moving member 57 with left hand 52a and right hand 52b, respectively, and moving back and forth (reciprocating motion) in the embodiment.
[0035] The detection device 20 comprises a detection unit 15 that non-contactually detects the distance between the device and a movable member 57 moved by a predetermined part of the patient's upper limb, such as the hand or elbow, on the work surface 561 of the board 56, or the distance between the device and the predetermined part; a transmission unit 30 that wirelessly transmits the data acquired by the detection unit 15 to an external terminal device 41 as a display device and displays information related to the data on the display device; and a main body 21 in which the detection unit 15 and the transmission unit 30 are installed within a housing, and the main body 21 can be installed at different positions around the work surface 561. Different positions around the work surface 561 can be any position on the work surface 561, for example, as shown in Figure 1, it can be on the forward extension of the movement path of the movable member 57. Specifically, as shown in Figure 2, when the movable member 57 moves back and forth (reciprocating motion), the movable member 57 is installed at a position facing the detection unit 15 (distance sensor 16) of the detection device 20. In this case, the front end surface 571 of the movable member 57 must always reflect the light 17 emitted from the distance sensor 16 and the movable member 57 must be positioned within a measurement range where it can receive the light. The detection device 20 only needs to be installed within a measurement range where it can receive the light 17 emitted from the distance sensor 16 and reflected by the movable member 57. The direction of movement of the movable member 57 is not limited to the front-to-back direction, but can also be moved left-to-right or diagonally front-to-back (left-to-right) to perform training. Alternatively, training can be performed along a curve using three or more detection devices 20.
[0036] According to this, even with existing sanding training equipment, the detection device 20 can be retrofitted as a function expansion terminal and installed non-contactually without modifying the sanding training equipment, allowing existing sanding training equipment to be used in a wide range of applications. In addition, the main unit 21 can be installed at any position on the work surface 561, providing a high degree of flexibility in the installation position of the main unit 21. When the main unit 21 is installed on the forward extension of the movement path of the moving member 57, the distance sensor 16 can appropriately detect the distance between it and the moving member 57.
[0037] The detection unit 15 is implemented by a measurement unit using a distance sensor 16 and a control unit equipped with a CPU. The detection device 20 transmits the data acquired by the detection unit 15 to an external terminal device 41, which acts as a display device, via a transmission unit 30, and the patient's training is performed based on a dedicated application on the external terminal device 41. The transmission unit 30 will be described later.
[0038] The distance sensor 16 is a sensor that detects the distance between its own reference position and the object. In Figure 2, the reference position of the distance sensor 16 is aligned with the position of the front panel 211 on the main body 21, and the distance (X) from the front panel 211 to the front end surface 571 of the movable member 57 is the distance between the reference position and the object. The distance sensor 16 shown in this embodiment is a so-called laser displacement meter, in which light emitted from the light source (16a) inside the sensor is reflected when it hits the object to be measured and received by the light receiving element (16b) of the sensor. The reflected light is calculated, converted into distance, and output. It is preferable that the distance sensor 20 is a non-contact sensor that detects distance.
[0039] According to this, the detection unit 15 is composed of at least a distance sensor 16, so it can appropriately detect the distance between it and the moving member 57. Furthermore, even with existing sanding training equipment, the detection device 20 can be retrofitted non-contactually without modifying the sanding training equipment, allowing for easy functional expansion.
[0040] The external terminal device 41, which serves as a display device, is comprised of at least one of a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer, and the display unit 714 of the external terminal device 41 can display images to assist the patient's rehabilitation, such as the number of rehabilitation sessions, using data received from the transmission unit 30. Alternatively, the external terminal device 41 may be configured to use a wearable device such as a smartwatch, or a dedicated terminal with dedicated software that cannot be used for other purposes may be used.
[0041] According to this, the detection device 20 uses the data received from the transmission unit 30 to display images that assist the patient's rehabilitation on the external terminal device 41 as a display device, thereby eliminating the monotony of exercise and improving the quality of rehabilitation. Furthermore, since the display device is configured with at least one of a smartphone, tablet, and PC, a training system can be configured using a terminal device that the user has nearby.
[0042] Furthermore, since the detection device 20 has a built-in battery as the battery 705 and is powered by the battery, there are no restrictions on where it can be installed, such as connecting it to a wall outlet with a cord to ensure power supply. Therefore, even if a patient has difficulty walking to the rehabilitation room by themselves, they can perform rehabilitation exercises on their bed, for example, which is highly convenient.
[0043] [Control System] 3, a control unit 70 on the transmitting unit 30 side of the detection device 20 has a CPU 701, a memory 702, etc., and is connected to the control unit 70 with a distance sensor 16, a transmitting unit 707, and an alarm unit 703. Furthermore, a switch 706 and a battery 705 are connected to the control unit 70 via a power supply control unit 704. Also, a control unit 71 on the receiving unit 40 side as the external terminal device 41 has a CPU 711, a memory 712, etc., and is connected to the control unit 71 with a receiving unit 716, a display unit 714, an operation unit 715, and an alarm unit 713.
[0044] As shown in Fig. 3, the distance sensor 16 is connected to the transmitter 30 via the control unit 70. When the switch 706 is turned on, power is supplied from the battery 705 to the distance sensor 16 and the transmitter 30. This causes the transmitter 30 to wirelessly transmit the signal from the distance sensor 16. More specifically, the transmitter 30 converts the analog signal from the distance sensor 16 into a digital signal. The transmitter 30 then samples the digital signal (distance data) at regular intervals and transmits it to the receiver 40 using the Bluetooth (registered trademark) communication standard.
[0045] [Training movements] Next, the training operation of the training system 1 of the present invention will be described with reference to the flow chart of FIG.
[0046] Fig. 6 is a flow diagram of the training of the present invention. Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 show display screens 80a and 80b (display unit 714) of the dedicated application of the external terminal device 41 serving as the user terminal at that time.
[0047] First, the switch 706 of the transmitter 30 in the detection device 20 is turned on (S1), and then the switch (not shown) of the receiver 40 in the external terminal device 41 is turned on to establish a pairing connection via Bluetooth (registered trademark), and when the connection is complete, the word "connect" is displayed on the display screen of the external terminal device 41. Next, when a dedicated app (for sanding training) is launched in the external terminal device 41, an initial setting screen 80a shown in FIG. 7 appears as the initial screen.
[0048] Next, on the display screen 80a shown in FIG. 7, input of initial settings is accepted based on the user's operation (S2 to S5 in FIG. 6).
[0049] First, the patient or an operator such as a physical therapist sets the first distance X1 (S2). The first distance X1 is the distance between the moving member 57 at the starting position and the testing device 20 when the patient moves the moving member 57 from the starting position to the ending position on the board 56 during sanding training. Figure 4 shows the state in which the moving member 57 is positioned at the starting position. As shown in Figure 4, the operator sets the first distance X1 as the distance from the reference position (front panel 211) on the main body 21 of the detection device 20 to the front end surface 571 of the moving member 57. The system may be configured so that the operator directly inputs the value of the first distance X1, but in this embodiment, as shown in Figure 4, the first distance X1 is automatically set and registered by pressing the "Starting Position Setting" button 83b on the display screen 80a with the moving member 57 positioned at the starting position on the board 56. During the setting process, the detection lamp 86 lights up. If the operator presses the "Start Position Setting" button 83b on the display screen 80a and the detection device 20 or the moving member 57 is moved while the operator is setting the first distance X1, an error will be displayed on the display screen 80a, and it will be necessary to reset the settings.
[0050] Next, the second distance X2 is set (S3). The second distance X2 is the distance between the movable member 57 at the end position and the inspection device 20 when the patient moves the movable member 57 from the start position to the end position on the board 56 during sanding training. FIG. 5 shows the movable member 57 at the end position. As shown in FIG. 5, the operator sets the second distance X2 as the distance from the reference position (front panel 211) on the main body 21 of the detection device 20 to the front end surface 571 of the movable member 57. As with the first distance X1, a "Set End Position" button (not shown) can be provided on the display screen 80a to set this second distance X2. The operator can automatically set and register the second distance X2 by positioning the movable member 57 at the end position and pressing the "Set End Position" button on the display screen 80a. Alternatively, the display screen 80a may have an input box 82c that allows the operator to directly input the target movement distance (X3) of the movable member 57 from the start position to the end position. The operator can directly input the numerical value of the target movement distance X3 of the movable member 57 using the input frame 82c. Alternatively, the operator may set the target movement distance X3 by tracing the pointer 81c with a finger. When the movement distance X3 is set before the second distance X2 using the input frame 82c or the pointer 81c, the movement distance X3 is subtracted from the first distance X1 as an internal process, and the second distance X2 is automatically calculated, set, and registered. This makes it easy for the operator to use.
[0051] Next, the patient's target training time and target number of repetitions are set (S4). Training goals can be set, for example, as the time the patient will perform the training and the number of times the movable member 57 will be moved the target distance X3. The training time can be set by directly entering a value using the set time input frame 82a on the display screen 80a or by tracing the set time pointer 81a with a finger. After the training time is set, the set training time is displayed in the display frame 85. The time is counted down during training. The patient can visually check the remaining time during training, which helps to motivate the patient to continue training. The number of repetitions of the training in which the movable member 57 will be moved the target distance X3 can be set by directly entering a value using the set number of repetitions input frame 82b on the display screen 80a or by tracing the pointer 81b with a finger. A display frame 87b on the left side of the display screen 80a displays information regarding the number of times the patient has moved the movable member 57 the target distance X3 during training. The display frame 87b may display an up count or a down count from the set number of training sessions. Pressing the "Clear Sessions / Time" button 83a will clear all settings for training time and number of training sessions.
[0052] Next, the type of notification is set (S5). The system is configured to notify by sound that the moving member 57 has reached a preset target moving distance X3. The operator can select and set whether or not to notify by sound, the type of sound, etc., using a sound notification setting screen (not shown) on the display screen 80 of the external terminal device 41. This completes the setting.
[0053] Next, the training operation will be described. When starting training, the operator or patient touches the "Start" button 83c on the display screen 80a (S6). When the "Start / Stop" button 83c shown on the display screen 80a in Figure 7 is operated, the set training time displayed in the display frame 85 becomes shorter as the training time passes. After starting training, if the operator wishes to interrupt the training, the "Start / Stop" button 83c is touched again. This allows the training to be interrupted.
[0054] During training, the patient sits on board 56 and grasps operating parts (grips) 51a and 51b mounted on the top surface of moving member 57 with left hand 52a and right hand 52b, respectively, and moves moving member 57 back and forth repeatedly (reciprocating motion) from the start position to the end position. When moving member 57 starts moving from the start position and reaches the end position, the goal is achieved. Then, moving member 57 is moved from the end position to the start position. This completes one round-trip training. This is repeated.
[0055] The dedicated app is configured to visually train the patient by changing the display position of a person or anthropomorphic character in a virtual space according to the distance the patient moves the movable member 57, as shown on the right side of the display screen 80a in Figure 7. A person character 90a holding the movable member 57 is displayed in the virtual space shown on the display screen 80a in Figure 7, and the display position of the character 90a is changed forward or backward according to the current distance moved by the movable member 57. A start line 90c in the virtual space corresponds to the start position, and a goal line 90b corresponds to the end position. The actual measured value of the distance moved by the movable member 57 from the start position is displayed in an actual distance display frame 88c in the lower left corner of the display screen 80a.
[0056] This can break up the monotony of exercise and provide a fun and engaging training experience.
[0057] It is possible to set a target movement distance for the movable member 57 during the patient's training. This allows the patient to confirm on the external terminal device 41 as a display device that the movable member 57 has reached the set movement amount by moving the movable member 57, thereby maintaining motivation for training. As described above, after two different target distances (X1, X2) from a reference position on the main body 21 are set in advance, the inspection device 20 is provided with a target distance reach determination means that determines whether the movable member has reached each target distance during the reciprocating motion, and determines that the target distance has been reached if the reach determination is equal to or greater than a predetermined distance.
[0058] According to this, two different target distances from a reference position on the main body 21 are set in advance, and a target distance arrival determination means is provided that determines when the moving member 57 has reached each target distance, and when the arrival determination is at or above a predetermined distance, it is determined that the target distance has been reached. This improves the quality of rehabilitation.
[0059] The system notifies the user, using a buzzer, chime, or other sound, when the moving component 57 has reached a pre-set target distance X3. (1) When moving the movable member 57 from the starting position to the ending position, it is determined and notified whether the movable member 57 has moved a predetermined distance or more. That is, it is determined and notified whether the movable member 57 has approached the reference position (front panel 211) by a target distance X2 or more. (2) When the movable member 57 is returned from the end position to the start position, it is determined and notified whether the movable member 57 has moved a predetermined distance or more. That is, it is determined and notified whether the movable member 57 has moved a target distance X1 or more from the reference position (front panel 211).
[0060] According to this, the moving member 57 notifies the patient by sound when it has reached a preset target distance X3, thereby eliminating the monotony of the exercise and allowing the patient to feel motivated and enjoy the training, thereby improving the quality of rehabilitation.
[0061] Information regarding the number of times the moving member 57 has reached a pre-set target movement distance X3 is displayed in the display frame 87b (counter) shown on the display screen 80a. The counter may be an up counter or a down counter. (1) When moving the movable member 57 from the starting position to the ending position, it is determined and counted whether the movable member 57 has moved a predetermined distance or more. That is, it is determined and counted whether the movable member 57 has approached the reference position (front panel 211) by a target distance X2 or more. (2) When moving the moving member 57 back from the end position to the start position, it is determined whether the moving member 57 has moved a predetermined distance or more, and counted. That is, it is determined whether the moving member 57 has moved a target distance X1 or more from the reference position (front panel 211), and counted. The count may be performed each time the target distance (X1, X2) is reached, or may be performed once for each round trip.
[0062] According to this, information regarding the number of times the moving member 57 reaches a preset target distance is displayed on the external terminal device 41 as a display device, thereby eliminating the monotony of the exercise and improving the quality of rehabilitation.
[0063] As a means for notifying that the moving member 57 has reached the preset target distance, as described above, a notification means using animation may be used in addition to the means using sound or a counter.
[0064] Next, after the training, the training results are displayed (S7). When the preset training time has elapsed, the training ends. After the training ends, the training results shown in 80b of FIG. 8 are displayed. The training results include exercise time (display frame 91) as the total operating time, the number of exercises (display frame 92), the reach target (display frame 93) as the set distance, the reach average (display frame 94) as the average one-way movement distance of the moving member 57, the maximum reach (display frame 95) as the maximum one-way movement distance of the moving member 57, the average extension time on the side stretching the arm (display frame 96), the average flexion time on the side bending the arm (display frame 97), the average one-movement time (display frame 98) as the average time for one movement of bending and straightening the arm, and the slack (display frame 99) as the time when no movement was performed.
[0065] [Other examples] The above was a description of sanding training, but by replacing the movable member 57 in the training system 1 of the present invention from a plate-shaped member (sanding block) to a towel 58 or a hand 52 (52a, 52b), similar training of the upper limbs and shoulder joints can be performed. Training using a towel is called wiping training.
[0066] Figure 9a is an explanatory diagram of wiping training using a towel 58 as a moving member 57. As shown in Figure 9a, the towel 58, as the moving member 57, is installed in a position opposite the detection unit 15 (distance sensor 16) of the detection device 20, and the hand placed on the towel 58 is moved back and forth (reciprocating motion). At that time, the front end surface 581 of the towel 58 must always be set to reflect and receive the light 17 emitted from the distance sensor 16 within the measurement range. In addition, in this embodiment, there is no need to use a dedicated moving member 57, so training can be easily performed using a towel that is normally used. Furthermore, the frictional force generated between the board 56 and the towel 58 can be varied depending on the type of towel, and by changing the type of towel 58 used, training can be performed while applying an appropriate load.
[0067] Figure 9b is an explanatory diagram of upper limb and shoulder joint training using a hand 52 (52a, 52b) as a movable member 57. As shown in Figure 9b, the hand 52 (52a, 52b) as the movable member 57 is positioned opposite the detection unit 15 (distance sensor 16) in the detection device 20 and moves the hand 52 (52a, 52b) back and forth (reciprocating motion). At that time, the front end surface 521 of the hand 52 must always be set to reflect and receive the light 17 emitted from the distance sensor 16 within the measurement range. Furthermore, in this embodiment, there is no need to use a dedicated movable member 57, so training can be easily performed.
[0068] Based on the above, even with existing sanding training equipment (sanding blocks, etc.), the functionality can be easily expanded by retrofitting a function expansion unit (detection device) non-contactually without modifying the sanding training equipment. Furthermore, as a training system, it can eliminate the monotony of exercise while being inexpensive and occupying little space, and can improve the quality of rehabilitation.
[0069] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to this embodiment, and within the scope of the technical concept of the present invention, this embodiment can be modified as appropriate in ways other than those suggested here. Furthermore, the number, position, shape, etc. of the constituent members are not limited to this embodiment, and can be set to a number, position, shape, etc. that is suitable for carrying out the present invention.
