Abstract

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a rotating electric machine that allows for easy assembly of the stator core and insulator. [Solution] A method for manufacturing a rotating electric machine comprising a winding L, an annular stator core 3 having a plurality of teeth 32 extending radially inward and distributed circumferentially, and an annular insulator 4 disposed between the teeth 32 and the winding L to insulate them, wherein the insulator 4 includes an inner circumferential covering portion that covers the inner circumferential surface of the stator core 3, and a pair of side covering portions 43, 43 integrally formed with the inner circumferential covering portion and covering both sides of the teeth 32 in the circumferential direction, the pair of side covering portions 43, 43 having a tip portion 45 protruding from at least one of the end faces 34, 35 on both sides of the teeth 32 in the axial direction, and a winding step in which the winding force of the winding L bends the pair of tip portions 45, 45 toward the end face 35 in the axial direction of the stator core 3 when winding the winding L to the outer circumference of the pair of side covering portions 43, 43.
