Single coil with integrated eddy current loss suppression

Abstract

A single coil, particularly for a stator, preferably of an electric machine, especially an electric motor or generator, comprising a metal component and an insulating material, manufactured by: a. injection molding the metal component in an injection mold, wherein the injection mold corresponds to an expanded form of the single coil, b. applying at least one layer of the insulating material to at least one insulating section of the metal component, preferably to the individual turns of the coil, c. compressing and / or folding the metal component to transfer it from the expanded form of the single coil into a usable form.
