Abstract

This invention provides a technology that suppresses degradation due to moisture in the wavelength conversion layer containing quantum dots, and also makes delamination less likely to occur in the wavelength conversion substrate. [Solution] The wavelength conversion substrate 3A comprises a transparent substrate 31 having a first main surface and a second main surface; a resin layer 34 provided on the first main surface and having a plurality of through holes; a plurality of packed layers 36R, 36G, 36B that each fill the first through holes and at least one of which is a wavelength conversion layer containing quantum dots; an inorganic coating layer 35 that covers the side walls of each of the first through holes and the upper surface of the resin layer and has a plurality of openings at the positions of the upper surface of the resin layer; and an inorganic barrier layer 37 that covers the upper surface of the packed layer, the region of the inorganic coating layer surface exposed from the packed layer, and the region of the upper surface of the resin layer exposed at the positions of the openings of the inorganic coating layer.
