Plasma kallikrein inhibitors and their use to prevent hereditary angioedema attacks

Abstract

This invention provides an effective method for preventing hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks or reducing the rate of HAE attacks, as well as an antibody used in that method. [Solution] The method includes the step of administering an effective amount (for example, about 30 mg to 400 mg, about 100 mg to 400 mg, about 100 mg to 300 mg, or about 300 mg to 400 mg) of an antibody that binds to the active form of human plasma kallikrein.
