Claims
1. A pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing cancer in a subject requiring treatment or prevention of cancer, A therapeutically effective amount of compound (1), or containing a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, The aforementioned cancer is located in the midline structure of the brain and has a histone H3 K27M mutation. The aforementioned pharmaceutical composition is applied to the subject, (a) Once a day, (b) Twice a week, (c) Once a week, (d) Once every two weeks, (e) Once every three weeks, (f) once every four weeks, and (g) Repeated cycles of once a week, once every two weeks, once every three weeks, once every four weeks, or a combination thereof. A pharmaceutical composition administered in a predetermined dose at a frequency selected from the group consisting of the following.
2. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1, wherein the cancer is located in the thalamus, medulla, hypothalamus, basal ganglia, pineal gland, midbrain, cerebellum, pons, or spinal cord.
3. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the histone H3 K27M mutation is H3.3 K27M or H3.1 K27M.
4. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the histone H3 K27M mutation is located in one or more histone genes selected from H3F3A, H3F3B, HIST1H3A, HIST1H3B, HIST1H3C, HIST1H3D, HIST1H3E, HIST1H3F, HIST1H3G, HIST1H3H, HIST1H3I, or HIST1H3J.
5. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein in cancerous tissue, DRD2 is overexpressed, DRD5 is underexpressed, or both.
6. (i) The cancer is selected from the group consisting of central nervous system tumors, brain tumors, peripheral nervous system tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, adrenocortical carcinomas, adrenal tumors, and neuroendocrine tumors, or (ii) The cancer is selected from the group consisting of meningiomas, ependymomas, oligodendrogliomas, astrocytomas, optic gliomas, pineal tumors, rhabdoid tumors, and diffuse endogenous pontine gliomas, or (iii) The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the cancer is derived from nerve cells and is selected from the group consisting of medulloblastoma, neuroblastoma, gangliomas, primitive neuroectodermal tumors, and schwannomas.
7. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the cancer is located in the thalamus, medulla, hypothalamus, basal ganglia, pineal gland, midbrain, cerebellum, pons, or spinal cord.
8. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the subject is a human.
9. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the subject is a child.
10. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the subject is a domesticated pet.
11. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the compound is ONC201 dihydrochloride.
12. The pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the predetermined dose is 625 mg.
13. A pharmaceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 12, which is administered in combination with one or more radiotherapy sessions.
14. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 13, wherein the administration of the pharmaceutical composition and the radiotherapy are performed simultaneously or in any order.
